In this week’s episode, Bonnie Meadows encourages nurses who feel stuck, uncertain, or overwhelmed in their career journey.

She reminds us to press forward, stay committed to our goals, and believe in the right path. Drawing from her personal experience and passion for helping nurses, Bonnie reflects on the importance of pursuing clarity and fulfillment in your nursing career, even if the journey feels unconventional.

Bonnie also shares why she developed this community for nurses seeking more from their careers and how taking intentional steps toward clarity can help you discover your unique gifts, skills, and opportunities for impact.

**Key Takeaways:**
Trust Your Path: Everyone has a unique vision for their career, and while others may have opinions, the direction that resonates with your heart is worth pursuing.

Growth Through Experience: As you gain experience in nursing, your career goals may shift, but that’s part of the journey toward clarity and impact.

The Power of Self-Awareness: Bonnie emphasizes the importance of knowing what you uniquely bring to the table as a nurse and how that can help you articulate your value and create an impact.

Don't Settle for Being Stuck: Nurses often feel "in motion but not moving forward." Strategic action is key to creating the career you truly desire.

Impact and Flexibility are Possible: You can find both flexibility and fulfillment in your career, and Bonnie’s message reminds us that success is attainable with perseverance and strategic action.

Speaker 1 (00:05):
Welcome to the Ambitious Nurse Podcast, where I
provide tips, tools andresources for the experienced
nurse to put in your career bagto help you be a better person,
a better leader, a betterprofessional and, most of all, a
better nurse.
I'm your host, bonnie Meadows,a career coach and a clinical

(00:25):
nurse specialist with over 18years of experience in
healthcare and nursing.
It's my passion to helpexperienced nurses develop their
careers to impact healthcareand their communities.
Hey, I hope all is well withyou today.
Hey, I hope all is well withyou today.

(00:46):
This week, I wanted to give youa quick word of encouragement
and remind you to keep going, keep pressing forward.
What you desire for your careercan truly happen.
I am a living witness of it andI don't want anyone to

(01:07):
discourage you from the path inwhich you believe in your heart
is the best path for you.
Everyone has an idea of whatyou should be doing for your
career, but you have in yourheart what is truly best.
Sometimes, what we have in ourheart for right now might not be

(01:31):
the most ideal or it might besomething that will lead you to
something else you didn't evenplan for.
I just wanted to tell you tokeep going, keep pressing
forward.
The answer is near.
It's right there in front ofyou.
When you're coming into nursing, you mainly have an idea of

(01:56):
what you want to do and then, asyou grow or get more experience
, that what you originally camein for is not what you want to
do, or it is what you want to do, but you're having a hard time
figuring out how to bridge thatgap.
I believe everyone can have joyin their nursing careers, even

(02:19):
working in the hospital.
I believe that everyone has anopportunity to, if you, if that
is what are called to do, ifthat's what you're pulled to do,
to make an impact.
And so I just wanted to stop byand share why I decided to
develop this community In 2015,.

(02:42):
I had gone through several rolesin health care outside of
nursing.
I was in the middle of it.
By the time I'd gotten to 2017,I decided it was time for me to
go back to nursing Because Ihad learned so much and taken

(03:02):
such an unconventional role.
I had learned so much and takensuch an unconventional role.
I had finally gotten to theplace of knowing how to get to a
place of impact, growing fromthere and learning from there.
Nurses have so much to offer tohealth care and I want to help
you grow and blossom, figuringout what makes you unique and

(03:26):
what you bring to the table.
I want to help you articulatethat and grow that muscle to say
these are my skills, this iswhat I want to build and this is
how I want to make an impact.
You don't have to have all ofthe answers right now, but I
desire to help you move towardsthe opening of the eyes.

(03:50):
Every time you take an action,it brings more clarity to how
you will make that impact.
I believe that, nurses, we'rehiding Some of us.
We're held back by our fears.
We're hiding Some of us.
We're held back by our fears.
Some of us are just doingthings that don't even matter.

(04:11):
They don't even matter Likewe're working.
We're in action, we're inmotion, in place.
So I want you to be in motion, making sure that move you're
making is strategic your career, what you want to do, to how you
want to do it, to what reallylights your fire as a nurse and

(04:37):
where you can make the biggestimpact.
I hope that connects with you.
Today.
I wanted to share why it'simportant for me as a nurse to
see other nurses grow.
It brings me joy.
To help other people problemsolve through what they bring to

(04:57):
the table.
The skill set they are uniquelycreated to do brings me joy.
That is where I believe I makesome of my impact.
The other impact that I make isin other areas, but it all
works together.
I bring all of those skillshere to the table to say here's

(05:18):
what you can, here's how you cando it.
Every situation is not a cookiecutter situation, because you're
unique, just like our patients.
We're all unique and we'll bedoing something different.
Even if you don't see what youlike right now in front of you,
it's either already out there orsomeone's trying to develop it.

(05:39):
So don't give up on yourself.
Don't give up on your dream tobe successful, to make an impact
, to work in the area offlexibility and joy which, deep
down in your heart, is availablefor you.
I hope you enjoyed today'sepisode.

(06:00):
If so, would you take 30seconds and share it with
another nurse who may be unsureof where to go next in their
career or maybe need some careerclarity?
Also, please leave a quickreview for the show on Apple
podcast.
It brings me so much joy and somuch encouragement to know this
podcast is helping you.

(06:21):
Now go get the career you wantand not the one you settle for,
and I'll meet you back here nextThursday for another episode.

We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
