Locum Tenens Agencies: An interview with Jarin Dana, President-Elect of NALTO

I had the good fortune to interview Jarin Dana, President-Elect of the National Association of Locum Tenens Organizations (NALTO). Jarin is also the Chief Financial Officer of Fusion Health Care Staffing in Sandy, UT.

Jarin and I discussed the current landscape of locum tenens. Due to a variety of market forces, opportunities for physicians and other locum tenens providers continue to grow. Currently, approximately 50,000 physicians take advantage of locum tenens assignments. 

Jarin explained NALTO’s role as a voluntary membership organization for staffing agencies that sets high ethical standards and practices for the locum tenens industry. Established in 2001, NALTO is the only professional locum tenens association.

I was delighted to learn that Jarin has read my locum tenens book, “The Locum Life: A Physician’s Guide to Locum Tenens,” and recommends it to his colleagues!
