Brad Weisman (00:01):
Hello, this is
Brad Weisman.
You're listening to Real Estateand you, we are back in the
studio.
It is now October and we aredoing a show that is very
appropriate for this month veryappropriate.
I got a guy here that reachedout to me and he said you know
(00:22):
what?
I am somebody that doesafterlife researching, but I'm
also thinking about getting myreal estate license and I'd like
to have you document myprogress or my trip through this
whole thing.
And I said you know what?
That sounds good.
Then I started digging deeperand I was like, oh my gosh, this
guy's legit.
He was on like Netflix with ashow and everything.
(00:45):
So I'm gonna introduce you toAaron G Thompson.
Right now he is on the Zoomhere.
It's great to meet you, man.
Aaron G Thompson (00:53):
Thank you so
much for responding.
By the way, that's it, brad.
Yeah, I've been listening toyou.
As you stated, I'm on a journeyand I just thought listening to
the shows and at this pointI've got to say I'm close to 200
episodes of different podcasts, video format just to get the
narrative of moving into, andyours really connected with me
(01:18):
and I'm super stoked when youreplied, so I'm like, oh nice,
awesome.
Brad Weisman (01:22):
Well, you know
what's funny, I get a lot of now
afterwards, this is close toour 150th show.
I don't know if it is the 150,but I'll have to look into that
but it's close to the 150th show.
Been doing it for three yearsand I weed through a lot of the
shows of people that reach out.
There's a lot of companies outthere that manage guests for
(01:43):
podcasts which I never knewuntil I started my own, and
what's interesting is I get alot of them and this one, of
course, really stood out.
One of the things you said thatreally stood out was that or my
daughter and you have the samebirthday first day, not year but
yeah, so it was May 14th and Ithought that was cool and it
just that hit me.
So you did a great job writingthat email.
Aaron G Thompson (02:03):
Well and thank
you, and it's all you know.
It's true, 100% true.
I was sitting on the idea, Ithink, a few days prior, just
thinking that this would be kindof cool.
But you know, it's a new waterI'm treading, what can I do?
And I kept pushing towards that.
Then, all of a sudden, I heardthe episode that's weird, right
(02:24):
and right when I was in thatthought process and I'm like you
gotta be kidding me.
I didn't get enough for like acouple more episodes.
And I'm like you know what I'mpulling over, cause I was
listening and I'm just sendingthe message that you know that's
really cool, and especiallycause of what you do now.
Brad Weisman (02:41):
You know, I think
you're probably one that is a
custom to listening to thewhispers.
You know what I mean?
Like, a lot of people don'tlisten to the whispers, they
just ignore them, and I thinkthat's what do you want to call
it?
Gut feeling, what do you wantto call it?
You know, a super yeah, exactly.
So that's interesting, and sothat's what you heard, and
that's why I reached out, andthat's why we're having this
(03:02):
podcast, which is really amazing.
So let's just talk about whatyou're doing now and then we'll
get into what we wanna we wannafollow you do over the next
months.
So right now you're anafterlife researcher.
What in the world is that?
Aaron G Thompson (03:19):
Well, I don't
even know.
I'm still driving in myself.
So that's my.
I tell people I train myselfwrong as an adult, cause this is
a subject matter that I'm verycomfortable with.
For 24 years, you know, I'vebeen fucking away.
That's probably why I did TV,cause I still look young, so I
can kind of pull back and keepme for a couple of seasons,
(03:39):
right, but the passion was there, and I like puzzles, I guess,
cause somehow this is theworld's hardest puzzle to figure
out.
You know what happens whenwe're not in this vessel on the
shell.
But it led to so many otheropportunities and I tell you
what.
I first started doing this whatwas the first?
Brad Weisman (03:59):
let's talk about
that.
What's the first?
Like when was it?
You were like, okay, you knowwhat I, this is what I'm gonna
start doing.
This is it there was.
Was there a sign?
Was there somebody saidsomething to you, or you saw
something, heard something?
Aaron G Thompson (04:12):
They use the
curse word coincidence so often.
That was my knowledge base.
If something like happened, Imight call it coincidence and I
just disregarded way too often.
But I had a fear of death.
Honestly, I was in my teens andfor some odd reason I had this
fear and it was irrational, justbecause it just it just came up
.
I don't know why I was thinkingthese big picture scenarios
Right right.
(04:32):
And I wanted to.
Honestly, I wanted to find outif ghosts were real, because it
seemed plausible and that was mygateway drug to after I've
ultimately.
But I didn't know, know it atthat time and I didn't know
there's so many different layersof religious outlooks and there
was, you know, the metaphysicaland the pseudo science, and
(04:53):
even even some science scenariosthat that poll and psychology.
Brad Weisman (04:58):
I mean it's just
so much right.
There is a lot around that.
Aaron G Thompson (05:01):
And it was
just me challenging the normal
and trying to be unbiased aspossible and I still pride
myself on being very unbiasedwith this discovery point or, I
guess, process and yeah, it ledme to having these crazy Indiana
Jones adventures and thesegreat aha moments.
(05:21):
In these scenarios where I'm,my head explodes.
I'm like oh my God, monstersexist, wow.
In some context it's bizarre, but the big thing is that
superpower that I figured outabout 10 years after I jumped in
, which was a coincidence Likethere's no such thing as
coincidence, that's a curse word.
There's no coincidence.
Brad Weisman (05:41):
And of course I
said it right off the bat, hugo,
I said the curse word.
Yeah, right away I said thecurse word.
I always thought it was justthe F word.
That was the real bad.
Aaron G Thompson (05:49):
No, no, that's
fine.
Brad Weisman (05:52):
It's the other C
word.
Aaron G Thompson (05:53):
That's the
long yeah you gotta spelling
that doctor.
So, that's interesting.
Brad Weisman (05:58):
So so you're a
hundred percent convinced,
because of the work you do, thatthere's.
There's something going onaround.
Aaron G Thompson (06:05):
It's what's
funny I'm speaking at a
convention today.
So I'm on the East coast andI'm doing this awesome event.
With the Halloween seasoncoming up and and the popularity
of the TV show and just my workin general.
I'm in, I'm on the East coastand in Massachusetts I tell
people I joke about I'm probablythe most unpopular ghost hunter
, if you know, if we want to usethe marketing term, because I'm
the only one that'll tell youthat ghosts and spirits do not
(06:27):
exist in the context that wefeel that they do.
I saw that quote.
I just love it because itmatches data and it sounds like
the most plausible buildup.
So I tell people spirits andghosts.
They tend to be a biologicalreaction of the consciousness,
separate from the vessel uponexpiration.
So what?
Brad Weisman (06:47):
the hell does that
mean?
Aaron G Thompson (06:49):
It's like an
echo right an emotional burst,
or an imprint that has AIcapability.
So Graham Graham's, perfectlyfine, but Metallica got it right
.
This could think about emotions.
So by biology, a hundredpercent emotions are biological.
The box system should notfollow you when you pass away.
It's it's you know, it's likeyour clothes, it's your heart,
(07:10):
it's your meat.
Suit my heart's called a meatsuit?
Yeah, exactly so.
I've never had the pleasure ofinterviewing someone who's
stated or who's had confirmedafter death experiences.
They all say they're at peace.
What you do is void of emotions, it's null of emotions.
So if you think about it,they're just shedding this shell
and they're just jumping intothe ether.
(07:32):
The great scenario, and whetherthat's I call it one
consciousness, it explains in mystudies prayer, well wishes,
good vibes, tomato, tomato iswhat?
What's your intense right, yourintense, huge um.
It's your focus point, it's,you know, one consciousness.
But is that a one?
Do you get any type of scenario, is it?
You know?
There's a mechanic that goesbeyond that, but I'm, you know,
I'm trying to dig into the uhquestions and ghosts and spirits
(07:55):
.
I mean, there's those scenariosout there, yeah, um.
However, I feel they're moreman created, um, like we create
our own monsters.
Brad Weisman (08:03):
Well, we have to
put a label on it, we have to
have it mean something, absolutely yeah, that's human
nature, yeah.
Aaron G Thompson (08:10):
And these
cultures have have, uh, and
don't call me exactly on thenumber, but I want to say like
36 different names for spiritsand me is, just go spare
Poltergeist and I keep it assimple as that.
Um, but they have a pretty muchan extreme emotional reaction
as a different name.
Yeah, um, like the suicidespirit, you know.
Okay.
Brad Weisman (08:29):
So with all this,
being said what are you looking
for when you go into a building?
What are you?
What are you listening for?
What are you looking for what?
What is it?
No-transcript.
Aaron G Thompson (08:38):
And it's funny
because I'm different than I
think.
Well, a good amount of the thefill Asians that do roll in with
me I'm just because I'm on adifferent Base.
Yeah, I don't need my buy-in atthis point.
I'm not looking for the buy-in,so I'm looking for.
Mechanics is repeatablemechanics?
Okay, I use these taboo devicesthat's so bizarre.
(09:00):
On why it would pull multisyllable direct responses out of
the ether.
So it does.
And I try to reverse engineerthat in conversation in clear
direct responses on site andJust try to see if we can get
matching instrument reactions.
Wow, say, we have radiationdetectors.
We call them, oh wow, fielddetectors.
(09:21):
They're basically a detectradiation.
The phenomena there is that itpicks up a free floating anomaly
Whether it's a ghost or spirit,that's a different conversation
.
However, by behavior ofemitting energy and radiation,
it radiates from a source.
We can't find the source.
That's pretty spectacular.
Brad Weisman (09:38):
Gotcha, gotcha,
yeah cuz yeah, exactly because
obviously if there's, if there'ssomething there radiate,
radiating, then something, yeah,it doesn't just come out of
pure thin air.
Aaron G Thompson (09:48):
And I still
question whenever those moments
happen, because it'smind-blowing.
I I offer the most bizarreoptions.
I do a lot of actionablescenarios on site to see to get
a response and and it speaks upmore often than none.
When it does, it's like oh, Ishould be ready.
What's going on here?
(10:08):
So so talk about your Netflixshow that you have it was an
honor, it was an honor to beassociated with it, with the
project.
It really was so Netflix.
We hit, I believe, were themost viewed paranormal theme
show in history.
It was the avenue, not sayingwe're the best or, where, the
most well-received right but wehad the most eyes on us were on
(10:30):
Netflix.
We hit number five first week.
We're out there, I believenumber four in UK and I think
what's number six worldwide andthat's awesome, a lot of eyes on
me.
Super cool.
Yeah, those are neat.
We're seeing that pop up alittle bit.
This ox over again.
It was exhausting.
Brad Weisman (10:48):
Yeah, it was.
So how many shows did you guysdo?
I mean, was it?
Was it several shows?
Aaron G Thompson (10:54):
It was.
It's only broken out of sixepisodes.
Okay, there is three differentteams, so I was a part of one
unit, gotcha, that went to alocation and the house is
actually built in 1776.
Wow, never, I mean, I wowMidwest we don't have.
Brad Weisman (11:10):
We don't, I was
gonna say, cuz typically that's
on the east coast.
Aaron G Thompson (11:13):
Yeah, that's
it.
I was in Connecticut Preston, connecticut yeah, and we didn't.
I didn't know where I was going.
It's about three days before westarted doing filming, right.
So I got the plane ticket.
I'm going to Connecticut.
So I went there, theyblindfolded me and they drove me
to the to the location with twoother people.
Wow, interesting.
We were isolated.
We were isolated for 28 daysand that was all legit.
(11:37):
I had no cell phone, nointernet.
I couldn't talk to my littlegirl, which was rough.
Brad Weisman (11:41):
Oh, that's really
tough.
Aaron G Thompson (11:43):
And we just
kind of I just had these two
other people, you knowoccasional executive producer
comes in or you know see through, walks by, but other than that
it was, it was an isolation andour, so they get an afraid with
clothing on.
Well, okay, yes, but we hadcameras in the bathroom and, for
whatever, whatever reason, inthe bath.
(12:03):
Well, no, not in the bathroom.
What kind?
Brad Weisman (12:08):
of show is this
I'm a venture, okay.
And.
Aaron G Thompson (12:11):
I, I was.
You know if I do my morningroutine, so I do pushups and you
know I'm in my underwork sense, how I sleep comfortably.
Yeah Well, I never thoughtthey're going to use those
scenes, but yeah, so they gottransitional scenes with me and
my underwear a few times.
Oh, that's hilarious.
Funny thing is, I'm more of anEgon.
If you, if you afford, label meas a ghostbuster character.
I'm more of an Egon.
I got these big ideas, I gotthese experiments, so I got
(12:33):
these really smart things to say.
And then here I am doingpushups in my underwear and
that's kind of like my character.
I appreciate all the othertalent.
I'm like well, guys, someonehad to be the heartthrob.
Step up Like man.
Dirty Netflix no, I'd find withit, but it's six episodes, it's
three hours.
It's super easy to watch.
You know, any of your viewersgo and watch it.
(12:56):
I would say I only see it onceand and what's your call?
Brad Weisman (12:59):
again, what's the
name of the show?
Again 28 days haunted 28 dayshaunted and it's on Netflix.
We can search it.
We can watch it on there.
I'm going to definitely checkit out.
I haven't gotten a chance to dothat yet.
Aaron G Thompson (13:09):
And think
about the, the locations being
the characters, not not thetalent, not the humans, but the
locations being the characters.
And I think it will.
It will fall in place a lot.
Brad Weisman (13:19):
That's cool.
Well, 1776 is really even forthe East Coast, I mean, I should
we have some that are from the1600s around here, but 1700s is
definitely.
That's that's old.
It's cool.
Was it a log?
Was it a log home or a logbuilding?
Aaron G Thompson (13:34):
It had and I
don't know what it throughout
the years.
Of course you know it had arenovation, sure, so it wasn't
straight log, but it might havestarted off.
Brad Weisman (13:43):
Yeah, a lot of
times what they did is they
covered them.
They covered the logs usuallywith other types of surfaces
later on.
Aaron G Thompson (13:50):
We had some
original nails we found in a
location which was interesting,On the patio, like day one,
we're walking around and my footgoes right through one of the
one of the plates.
Brad Weisman (14:00):
Oh no, so tell, so
tell me.
so now you got in touch with me, not for the, for paranormal,
not for the afterlife researchstuff, obviously, because my
show is not about that.
You got in touch with mebecause you're looking to change
or not change, add to your listof careers or add to your list
of things that you want to do.
Real estate has becomesomething you're interested in
(14:22):
and you, you came to me and said, hey, you know what about
documenting my process or myjourney?
I guess it would be my journeygoing from from thinking about
real estate.
I even have it actually, Iactually printed out exactly
what you said to me andbasically you said how about
this?
You said you know we would dothe first show would be which
(14:43):
would be?
This show here about you're,about learning about you and
your life and then how you wouldbe getting into real estate.
Second would be is it still adesire, are there classes in?
How the teaching in the classis going?
And then you said the thirdwould be, you know, basically
taking the test, seeing how thatgoes, and then it would be
after that, going okay, did youdo anything with it?
Did you make any money?
Did you sell a house, whatever?
(15:04):
And you know it's aninteresting concept and that's
what we're going to go on here,because I don't think that's
been documented with anybodybefore that I know of.
Aaron G Thompson (15:14):
And I was
listening, and when I was
listening, mind you, I'mlistening at a different
capacity, right, I think whyyour listeners are in the
business.
Yeah, I mean, you're giving alot of great information and I'm
asking questions, I'm lookingup the best I can, but I'm just
thinking to myself how neatwould it be if I were to kind of
seen.
I hear about the successstories that we know after you
know the top one producers, which is awesome, but what?
(15:36):
What about the origin story?
You know?
Yeah, yeah.
Brad Weisman (15:39):
And it's
interesting you say that because
you know we have a like kind oflike a statistic in our
business uh, one in 10 make itpast the year.
Yeah, you're looking at 10%,and now it that also depends on
the company that you go to afteryou get your license, because
the training has a lot to dowith it, the, the, the culture
of the company that you go to,and that's something that Keller
(16:00):
Williams, I'm not gonna just, you know, to our own horn, but I
want to because it's a greatcompany, calla.
Williams is known for theculture.
They're known for theireducational Ways of doing things
.
So you know, our, our thinghere in our office is probably
like three out of ten make it,or three or four out Of ten, so
we have a really good ratio.
So talk about so you're.
You're already looking into theclasses, right?
Aaron G Thompson (16:21):
Yeah, actually
I'm reaching out to.
You know the reference that youthrew through my way, which was
awesome, so I'm actuallylooking to I'm still following
up with her.
See about a full scholarshipyeah, in the process, which
would be huge.
Yeah, so hopefully we get thatkind of.
Brad Weisman (16:37):
You have an issue
with that, let me know because I
think I can help.
Aaron G Thompson (16:39):
Yeah,
absolutely, and Beyond that,
once I get that, I'm gonna planout, you know, ten days plus
days, whatever needs to do, andI'm just gonna, I'm just gonna
hit all everything right thenI've already planned that period
.
My goal is to step In a housein December.
I want to say December 1st,that's bold, yeah, you know,
yeah, that's you could, you cando it, hitting for absolutely
(17:01):
big.
The thing is, I'm so motivatedI've already had, I have a buddy
locally who's a contractor andI've already sat down with him
and he has houses he buys, heflips, he needs real tour to
sell them.
Yeah, I mean, I'm just reachingout to see who's who's doing
what.
I'm smart, already know thatthat this is a thing.
Networking's always been athing for me.
(17:22):
I used to train customerservice in a call center
environment, yeah.
So yeah, I'm passionate aboutpeople and that's what stared me
wrong, I think about Ten yearsago, because I've always looked
at realty, yeah, but I've nevercommitted it to the bit.
I would say, because there'sother Proceeded priorities that
took flight and I had anarrative in my hips I didn't
(17:43):
talk or communicate enough aboutit that it was more of a sales
job, and the more I'm watchingit, the more I'm talking to
friends who are into it.
Yeah, it's absolutely not asales job and I love that.
Yeah, it's because that's,that's how I do do business.
I mean me.
I shake hands, I buildrelationships and support one
another, and the growth hasalways been Expedential it's
(18:07):
serving, it's serving andrelationships serving.
I'm reading a book right now.
This one suggests that I wasreading on the flight.
I'll probably finish it afterthis call.
It's called go giver and I knowI.
Brad Weisman (18:21):
What's funny is
that I haven't read it yet, but
that's one that's going aroundthe real estate world right now.
Aaron G Thompson (18:27):
It's threw me.
Threw me off because I was it's.
I'm used to like readingscience books.
You know it's not that.
So I was expecting like aDiagram and just like facts and
this and that.
So that's what I went in forwhich I was fine with right, but
it's in story format and Igotta say I appreciate it.
Yeah, so it's throwing off, butafter reading I'm like you know
(18:47):
what?
This is fun and their pointsare hitting.
Brad Weisman (18:50):
Yeah, yeah, it's
supposed to be a really good
book, really good book, nowbefore we got a wrap to
substitute.
So one of the things I want youto do is I want you to, I want
you to talk to Aaron Yourself, but I want to talk to yourself
in the future and answer thisquestion.
Yeah, okay, so you're gonnatalk to yourself in the future.
Why, what do you think realestate's gonna be like for you?
(19:12):
Like, why are you getting in itand what do you think it's
gonna be like?
Aaron G Thompson (19:16):
I'm getting in
it to To serve right and I know
that we've just talked aboutthat, but I think this is the
best, the best word out there.
I've hosted in the TwoChristmases in a row, I hosted
something called holiday spirits, keeping the theme of what I do
a few years ago for COVID, andit was basically me just
crowdfunding and dropping a lotof money on someone's bill or
(19:39):
someone's.
You know a single father whounfortunately lost his wife to
cancer.
Now I has five kids.
You know he's raising a adult.
So I just got a lot of money Iprovided for the holidays.
So I call holiday spirits give.
That was awesome to me, but Ilost.
I lost that ability when 2020hit.
I've been kind of on the.
I've been on.
(20:00):
I've been on a path you knowI've.
The goal is always there, butI've lived almost.
I lived out of my car, you know, with my parents basement.
I've just I even rented my cata hotel because I couldn't work
with the cat, so I would gettheir cat there and then I come
back.
I mean it was just bonkers andwhat I do, but I'd always smile.
You know, I wasn't like, Iwasn't depressed or unhappy in
(20:23):
that time for him.
I had a lot of control.
So, though I was hustling allday, I was busy, I was making
things happen.
You know, on the line, I hadcontrol and realty provides that
hustle, that constant hustlethat I desire.
Yeah, it pulls the idea where Ican get out of, you know, the
basement off the streets andactually build my life, take
(20:45):
care of my little girl, and I'min my 40s Now.
I just want a good career whereI can put in the work and get
the return and give back andeven fuse a little bit of my
ghostly humor in with thescenario.
Absolutely, you can feel as iteven really touch bases that I
found, but yet everyone seems tobe on this, this, this vibe
(21:07):
type of mentality, which isawesome.
But yeah, there's a communityout there.
Brad Weisman (21:11):
Yeah, well, and
that's what you're going to find
with the new modern realtors inour, in our business.
The ones that are succeeding ata higher level and are also
sustaining their business at ahigher level are doing things
that are different than theothers, and it's basically this
business is all about taking whoyou are and building
relationships based on who youare.
(21:33):
It's not being anybody else,it's not trying to be a
salesperson, it's being exactlywho you are.
We just had in here the otherday.
The guy's name is the beardedrealtor.
He was just on the podcast.
He was just on the podcastrecently and you know, he, he,
basically you know he's likelook, I wear my hat backwards, I
have a long beard, I havetattoos, up to which I notice
you have tat, a tat sleeve too.
(21:54):
I think too he's got tattoosand so and he's like you know
what, and he's he's producing ata very high level and you know
why.
He's not trying to be anybodyelse, being himself.
So you should definitely workinto your, your marketing or
into your sphere.
When you start networking andstart selling yourself as as a
real estate professional, usewhat you do because that's what
(22:15):
people are going to buy.
Aaron G Thompson (22:16):
And the one
thing that kind of came to my
head with real T two, real quick, is so when a 2020,.
You know I was losing controlof everything.
You know what seemingly.
So what I want to do is I wantto gain control.
So what bubble of control can Iget?
So me, you know, I control mybody.
So that's Jim eating right.
So I started eating right, Istarted doing Jim, but I chose
not to do the like scale, likeweight, weight myself, because
(22:38):
those numbers just always messme up.
So I just hit the behaviors andresults happen.
And that's my game plan.
You know, even going into this,I'm going to hit the behaviors
aggressively, positively, justkeep doing it and the return,
return thumbs.
Brad Weisman (22:52):
Yeah, you're any,
you're exactly right.
If you do the work, it willdefinitely come.
And if you follow the rules andyou follow up, not the rules,
follow the systems and modelsthat are already set up it'll
work.
But you just want to do it inyour own way.
But, yeah, what a great, greatconversation.
I'll tell you what.
So what we're going to do nowis we're going to have you come
back as you're when you're readyto take the test.
Okay, I want to set up apodcast for you to come back and
(23:13):
I want to find out what you'velearned.
You know, the things thatyou've done so far, like reading
the books and doing all thatwork.
I want, I want you to come backand I want to see how, what you
think of the business so far, because I think, I think you're
going to find that things aregoing to change in your mind.
You're going to think things, think of things differently, and
I think it's funny, because thestuff, stuff you're going to
(23:34):
learn in the books and the tasks, everything has nothing to do
with what you're going to do therest of your life.
It's really just.
It's really just to get yourlicense.
It really is.
It's funny, right, so but yeah,I'm excited to see this whole
journey.
Aaron G Thompson (23:46):
Thank you, and
thank you so much for for
allowing me to be a part of theshow.
Brad Weisman (23:50):
Absolutely,
absolutely, all right.
There you have it.
That is Aaron G Thompson.
I got to make sure I keep thatG in there, right?
Aaron G Thompson (23:59):
Right, I got
to keep those G's flying.
Brad Weisman (24:01):
That's right, man.
All right, talk to you later, man.
Have a great night.
All right, there you have it.
We're going to bring him back.
That's Aaron.
Yeah, what, what an amazingstory goes from you know ghosts
and and all these differentthings.
And now he's getting into realestate.
And the good thing is is maybewhen he goes into the houses
he'll be able to tell people hey, you know what?
I'm not feeling anything here.
If you're afraid of any of thatstuff, it looks pretty good.
(24:23):
So there you go.
It's a little different featurethat he's going to be able to
sell.
All right, that's about it.
We'll see you next Thursday atseven o'clock.
