Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello and welcome.
I'm your host, javier, and I'mso grateful you've chosen to
spend some time with us today.
Life is filled withuncertainties.
We all experience moments wherewe stand at a crossroads,
unsure of which direction totake or how things will work out
.
It's in these seasons thattrusting in God's plan becomes
crucial.
The Bible is rich with wisdomand guidance for such times.
(00:21):
Today, we'll explore how tonavigate uncertainty and find
peace by trusting God's promisesthrough scripture.
Before diving in, let's take amoment to invite God into our
hearts and minds as we explorehis word.
Heavenly Father, we come beforeyou with open hearts, seeking
your wisdom and peace.
In the midst of uncertainty, weask for your guidance.
(00:42):
Help us to trust in yourperfect plan, even when we
cannot see the way forward.
May your word be a lamp to ourfeet and a light to our path.
In the name of Jesus, we prayAmen.
Jeremiah, chapter 29, verse 11,says For I know the plans I have
for you, declares the Lordplans for welfare and not for
evil, to give you a future and ahope.
(01:02):
These words were spoken to theIsraelites during their time of
exile, a period of deepuncertainty.
They were far from theirhomeland, unsure of their future
.
Yet God reassured them that hehad a plan for their lives, one
filled with hope and a future.
This promise holds true for usas well.
No matter the uncertainties weface, we can trust that God's
(01:22):
plans are for our good.
It's easy to focus on theunknowns, but God invites us to
focus on what we do know Hisfaithfulness, goodness and
sovereignty.
Isaiah, chapter 41, verse 10,offers another powerful reminder
Fear not, for I am with you.
Be not dismayed, for I am yourGod.
I will strengthen you, I willhelp you, I will uphold you with
(01:42):
my righteous right hand.
These words remind us that, nomatter how uncertain our
circumstances may be, god iswith us.
He promises to strengthen us,help us and uphold us when fear
threatens to overwhelm us, wecan cling to this promise,
knowing that God is in control.
The story of Abraham in theBible is a remarkable example of
trusting God in the face ofuncertainty.
(02:03):
Bible is a remarkable exampleof trusting God in the face of
uncertainty.
In Genesis, chapter 12, verse 1, god called Abraham to leave
his homeland and go to a placethat God would show him.
Abraham had no map, no detailedplan, just God's promise.
Hebrews, chapter 11, verse 8,says by faith.
Abraham obeyed when he wascalled to go out to a place that
he was to receive as aninheritance, and he went out not
(02:24):
knowing where he was going.
Abraham's faith was not in hisown understanding, but in God's
promises.
His story teaches us thattrusting God often means
stepping out in faith even whenwe don't have all the answers.
Trusting God also involvessurrendering our own plans and
desires.
Proverbs, chapter 3, verses 5and 6, instructs us Trust in the
(02:45):
Lord with all your heart and donot lean on your own
understanding.
In all your ways, acknowledgeHim, and he will make straight
your paths.
This is a call to let go of ourneed for control and to trust
that God's ways are higher thanours.
Isaiah, chapter 55, verses 8and 9, says For my thoughts are
not your thoughts, neither areyour ways my ways.
No-transcript.
(03:13):
Surrendering to God's willdoesn't mean that the path will
be easy, but it does mean thatwe can have peace, knowing that
God is in control.
Jesus exemplified this when heprayed my Father, if it be
possible, let this cup pass fromme Nevertheless, not as I will,
but as you will.
That's from Matthew 26.39.
Jesus' prayer of surrenderreminds us that God's plan,
(03:35):
though difficult, is ultimatelyfor our good and for His glory.
In Romans, chapter 8, verse 28,we are reminded that For those
who love God, all things worktogether for good for those who
are called according to Hispurpose.
This is a promise we can holdon to during times of
uncertainty.
God is working all thingstogether for our good, even when
we can't see it.
(03:56):
Our circumstances may not makesense to us, but we can trust
that God is orchestratingeverything according to His
perfect will.
Another key aspect of navigatinguncertainty is learning to wait
on God's timing.
Waiting can be incrediblychallenging, especially when
we're eager for answers ordirection.
Yet Scripture encourages us towait on the Lord with patience
(04:16):
and trust.
Psalm 27.14 says Wait for theLord, be strong and let your
heart take courage.
Wait for the Lord.
Isaiah 40.31 adds but they whowait for the Lord shall renew
their strength.
They shall mount up with wingslike eagles.
They shall run and not be weary.
They shall walk and not faint.
Waiting on God requires us totrust that His timing is perfect
(04:40):
, even when it doesn't alignwith our own Proverbs.
Chapter 3, verses 5 and 6,calls us to trust in the Lord
with all your heart and do notlean on your own understanding
In all your ways.
Acknowledge Him, and he willmake straight your paths.
As we trust God and wait on Histiming, we can rest in the
assurance that he is directingour steps even when the way
(05:00):
forward is unclear.
In addition to waiting on God'stiming, trusting God also means
relying on His provision.
In Matthew, chapter 6, verses31 through 34, jesus addresses
the anxiety that oftenaccompanies uncertainty.
Therefore, do not be anxioussaying what shall we eat or what
shall we drink or what shall wewear, for the Gentiles seek
(05:21):
after all these things and yourheavenly Father knows that you
need them all but seek first thekingdom of God and His
righteousness, and all thesethings will be added to you.
Therefore, do not be anxiousabout tomorrow, for tomorrow
will be anxious for itself,Sufficient for the day is its
own trouble.
God knows our needs and hepromises to provide for us when
(05:41):
we seek His kingdom andrighteousness first.
This doesn't mean that we won'tface challenges or that we'll
always have everything we want, but it does mean that God will
provide what we need accordingto His will.
The Bible is full of examples ofGod's provision.
In 1 Kings, chapter 17, we seehow God provided for the prophet
Elijah during a time of famine.
God sent ravens to bring Elijahbread and meat, and he provided
(06:05):
water from a brook.
When the brook dried up, godled Elijah to a widow who had
very little, but God multipliedher resources so that she, her
son and Elijah were provided forthroughout the famine.
In the book of Exodus, chapter16, we see God providing manna
from heaven for the Israelitesas they wandered in the
wilderness.
Every day, god provided justenough manna for them to eat.
(06:26):
The Israelites couldn't storeit up.
They had to trust that Godwould provide for them.
Daily, these stories remind usthat God is our provider, even
in the most difficultcircumstances.
When we trust in Him, we canrest in the assurance that he
will meet our needs.
It's also important to rememberthat our faith is not based on
our circumstances, but on whoGod is.
Hebrews, chapter 13, verse 8,says Jesus Christ is the same
(06:51):
yesterday and today and forever.
God's character does not changeand His promises remain true,
no matter what we're goingthrough.
We can trust that he isfaithful and that he will keep
His word.
Sometimes, trusting God meansembracing the mystery of faith.
There will be times when wedon't have all the answers, and
that's okay.
Part of walking by faith istrusting God even when we don't
(07:13):
understand what he's doing, asProverbs 3, verses 5 and 6
reminds us.
Trust in the Lord with all yourheart and do not lean on your
own understanding.
In all your ways, acknowledgehim and he will make straight
your paths.
Another important aspect oftrusting God during uncertainty
is the role of community.
God did not create us to walkthis journey of faith alone.
(07:34):
He has given us the gift ofChristian community to encourage
, support and pray for oneanother.
Hebrews 10.24-25 says and letus consider how to stir up one
another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together,
as is the habit of some, butencouraging one another and
all's.
When we need community the most.
We need fellow believers toremind us of God's promises, to
(08:03):
pray with us and to encourage usto keep trusting God.
Sharing our struggles withothers allows God to speak truth
and encouragement into ourlives through the people around
us.
Psalm 37, verses 3-5 says Trustin the Lord and do good.
Dwell in the land and befriendfaithfulness.
Delight yourself in the Lordand he will give you the desires
(08:23):
of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord, trusting Him, and he will act.
These verses remind us thattrusting God is an active
process.
It involves committing our wayto the Lord, delighting in Him
and faithfully doing good, evenwhen we're facing uncertainty.
We commit our way to God anddelight in Him.
We can trust that he will acton our behalf.
God may not always act in theway we expect or on the timeline
(08:47):
we prefer, but he will actaccording to His perfect plan,
and His plan is always good.
As we wrap up today's discussion, let's remember that God is
with us in the midst of ouruncertainty.
He has promised never to leaveus or forsake us.
Deuteronomy, chapter 31, verse6, says Be strong and courageous
, do not fear or be in dread ofthem, for it is the Lord, your
(09:09):
God, who goes with you.
He will not leave you orforsake you.
Hebrews, chapter 13, verse 5,echoes this promise I will never
leave you nor forsake you.
No matter what uncertainties weface, we can rest in the
assurance that God is walkingwith us through every challenge,
every trial and every unknown.
Let's close with a prayer askingGod for the faith to trust Him
(09:30):
in the midst of uncertainty.
Heavenly Father, we thank youfor your constant presence with
us In times of uncertainty.
Help us to trust in yourpromises and to lean on you for
strength and guidance.
We surrender our plans to you.
May we always remember that youare in control and that you are
working all things together forour good and your glory.
In Jesus' name, we pray.
(09:51):
Amen.
