We all have that little voice in the back of our mind or that feeling deep in our gut that tells us a lot more than, "I'm hungry." Call it intuition, instinct, or gut feeling. It really doesn't matter what you call it, that voice, that feeling, is there to protect us, keep us safe. It's our job to listen to it and trust it.

For many of us this is how our chronic illness and even some disabilities start. A question that isn't answered with a simple or standard solution, but we can't ignore it because that voice is screaming at us that this is important.

So what do you do if that voice or feeling is screaming that something is wrong, while people and providers in your life are dismissing or belittling the situation?

We advocate, yes, but there is a lot more we can and should do in these situations. Let's chat about what to do when you know something is wrong, even if you are the only one that knows.
