Speaker 1 (00:00):
Bring it on in college basketball catchup show. You see
the name I am Sean Brazy is Ryan Beef Coyle.
It is his time to shine as he did last
night three for four in the championship games. Tonight we
got a championship game. We'll see if we get another
ticket punched. Who's heading to the Big Dance. We've got
some other big conference tournament games, not the best matchups,
but still it's fun. And of course it's been front

(00:22):
and centers. It's eleven thirty this morning. Not quite Madness
just yet, but a nice appetizer of course, getting us
ready for all things March Madness starting next week, starting
on Sunday, Selection Sunday. With that Beef, we got a
lot to discuss as far as games going off right here,
right now, live action at eight seventeen at night. Give

(00:42):
us a player two that you're eyeing up currently in pocket.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
I like Rutgers. They should be tipping off shortly. They
are going off after the Ohio State Iowa game ended.
But I like Rutgers tonight. I think you can make
it an argument that Rutgers, whoever they play the rest
of the Big Ten tournament, they'll have the most two
talented guys at all time, and they weren't great the
whole season. They've looked good in spurts, but they have

(01:09):
two talented guys and tournament setting. All you gotta do
is win and move on, and I think Rutgers has
the pieces to do just that. They're playing a USC
team who's underperformed as well this year, and Rutgers just
took care of this USC team just a couple of
weeks ago. So I like Rutgers tonight. And also my
guys over at Mary Mack been riding them all year,
opened up as a two and a half point favorite
today all the way up to four and a half now.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
So those are two plays I like for the night
cap tonight, all.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
Right, currently in action well, first of all, USC and
Rutgers about to get off here at eight thirty. So
for the people that are out there right now, USC
a point favorite. One P fifty two and a half
is our total here currently in action at this point
in time. And oh, by the way, Villanov will be
tipping off just in about eighty nine o'clock tip eight
thirty pre game covers that's right on the Gateblay Kids

(01:57):
Staton Baylor interesting game there, Baylor lumping up in State
fifty two to thirty six. Any thoughts on that will be.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Biller was in kind of a muscle wind spot. They're
a team that is still in the tournament as of now.
They're in kind of the first four buys, so not
having to go to Dayton as of right now. But
that was a game that they couldn't afford to lose.
Just kind of important for them to win. I think
with a win there, they should feel safely in the
field as we approach selection someday.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
All right, then we got LSU and Mississippi State. Of course,
all eyes on the SEC. Anything for you in this one,
Mississippi State up by fifteen currently with sixteen minutes to
go into second half.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Yeah, I had the over in that one. I think
it was like one forty four and a half I
believe was what it finished. And it's sitting right there
as the live number right now. LSU kind of just
one of those them in South Carolina are really the only.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
Two dead teams in the SEC, like Texas.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
With the big wins today over Vanderbilt, they stay alive
in the NCAA Tournament picture. Mississippi State, I think they're
a team that could use like a big time win,
like this comfortable win, their team that's really struggled over
the second half of the season.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
So Missippi State to kind.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Of get some good juju, get some motivation, kind of
get their swagger back as they go into the Unstabley
tournament looking like a good win for them.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
So thus far tonight, talk to me about Villanova ten
and a half versus Seaton Hall.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
I actually took Seaton Hall. I just think it's a game.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
If you remember last year, even Villanova they had the
Paul it was going into the tournament, Villanova was looked
at as like, all right, maybe they still have a
fighters chance to make the NSAABY Tournament. I think they
kind of enter it with the same situation tonight, and
they needed a near buzzer beater by Justin Moore last
year to win that game. I'm not saying this game
is going to be the same, but I do think
Seaton Hall keeps it within the number. I don't think

(03:43):
that they're going to win that game.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
I'm at plus ten and a.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
Half, but I do like them to keep it within
the number. Villanova just tends to make interesting, so I
like Seaton Hall. That add a little chaos and keep
Villanova fans on the edge of their seat tonight.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
All right, what about SMU and Syracuse nine to thirty
tip off? SMU a nine point favorite. One fifties are
total game being played in Charlotte.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Got nothing on that right now, Syracuse. Give them a
little bit of credit. They were really struggling at the
beginning of ACC play, and that's saying something considering how
bad the ACC has been this year. SMU was on
the bubble, was a team that was projected in the
tournament for a lot of the year, and they've really
fallen off. So interested is SMU can maybe go on

(04:27):
a run put themselves back in the bubble conversation over
these next few days. But if you're gonna make me
take a play that one, I kind of like the over.
Syracuse has scored the ball pretty decently over the past
few weeks and started playing back.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
So nothing official on me for that one as of
right now.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
But if I had to pick a side or a
bet in that one, I would lean toward the over
of one fifty and a half.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
To night, all right, with all the conference tournament winners
to parlayed together. You put out a ticket that pays
out a significant amount if it does hit. So far,
everybody's still involved. Nobody knocked out just yet.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Yeah, I believe the only team I had it was
Iowa State. Yeah, so my other guys are tipping off tomorrow,
but i Was State won their first one.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
Clemson.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
I think the TC outside of Duke, you could take
a flyer on one of those teams at the bottom
of the bracket. Iowa State, I think as a team
that always plays well in the conference tournament. Utah State's
a team I really like. I think they could win
two games if they get to the NCAA tournament.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Illinois, I'm buying a lot of stock in them.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
They might be like my surprise final four team, maybe
as like a seven or eight seed.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
And then Yukon.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
I'm just not ready to write them off yet. And
Dan Hurley in a tournament setting. So a little fun
wager there, root on some teams and maybe find yourself
at the window with a lottery ticket.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
All right, as far as the results are already coming in
earlier today, anything surprised you from earlier today.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
Winner of the Day, I'll go Winner of the Day
so far and loser. The winner of the day, the
Texas Longhorns two and a half point underdog against Vanderbilt
in a must win spot if they wanted to extend
their season. I think Vandy is still going to be
in the dance regardless, but Texas needed a win and
they got up pretty encouraging one today against a good
Vanderbilt squad, especially coming off of really bad loss at

(06:16):
home on to Oklahoma on Saturday night.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
As a five and a half point favorite.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
For them to come back and be able to figure
it out and get this win today, that was big
to give their season some more life.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
Still don't know if they're in the tournament as of now.
One more win I.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Think would probably get them in, but they're the winner
of the day thus far and loser of the day.
I would say West Virginia lose to the sixteen seed
Colorado as a six and a half point favorite. They're
still like firmly in according to Lenardes's projections. I don't
know why this West Virginia team hasn't shown me anything
all season.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
They're one of those teams that.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
Every year the bracketologists have like a team that's like
safely projected in and they wind up missing.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
I remember Louisville a handful of years back was that team.
I think West Virginia could be that team this year.
They don't really move the you know.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
For me, they got guys missing, missing some time with
injuries as of right now too. So with that loss today,
I think we could see West Virginia maybe on the
outside looking in. But Texas, I think, what was kind
of your winner of the day and maybe put themselves
back on the right side of the bubble.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
Yeah, sure as hell wasn't Arkansas as far as winner
of the day was concerned. Four and a half, and
they squeak out a four point win after being up
by double digits, but probably about twelve minutes to go
in the second half, it looked like they were absolutely
gonna roll uh, and then all of a sudden, they
struggled down the second half, could not close out against
South South Carolina and a four point win. So if
you had an Arkansas ticket on a neutral floor, I

(07:35):
didn't think that they would struggle putting away South Carolina.
But they did, and that is frustrating to say the least.
Speaking of frustrating, it looks like Mississippi State's coaches chewing
nuts LSU. I don't know. I can't really tell you.
I'm colorblind. Right now, I think that's Mississippi States head coach,
but maybe he was chewing them out in the huddle.
Do you know Mississippi States head.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Coach christ Jans, Yeah, two, it is.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
Nice call Ryan Beef Couyle. Don't doubt him. All right.
Let me ask you this because Stanford Steven and Scott
Van Pelt were talking about this essentially, like the people
that already put the brackets together, they already know the
seating's done on Friday, Like it doesn't matter what happens
over the week and conference storm to play. Seating is

(08:21):
done on Friday. And some of these teams won't even
suit up until Friday. So it's like, wait a minute,
what are we doing here? With that being said, who
are the one seats still?

Speaker 2 (08:37):
I mean, because some of these teams are like I
think it's going to come down to the SEC, but
some of these teams are still got to play for
these next few days.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
Like I still think.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
Bama maybe had one of the maybe had the best
win of the season on Saturday at DOO or excuse
me at Auburn. Florida has had a handful of impressive
wins as well, a Tennessee too. Michigan State, I think
you can make an argument for it, but all the
SEC schools and Michigan State, I think those are your
last three teams kind of in the mid or last
four teams for that final one seed. All their championship

(09:06):
games are on Sundays. So, like you're saying, does it
really even matter or is it kind of their minds
made up? I mean, I definitely think we have Houston
locked in that fourth bot, Michigan State, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
I think if they're if.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
They're gonna pick right now, I think they're gonna go Alabama.
They tend to reward these teams with the super strong schedules,
and Bama I think tests of themselves in the non
conference maybe more than any team in the country this
year when you when you look at their their schedule
from top bottom. So if you made me pick a
team right now, I would say Alabama. I think their
combination of impressive wins as well as playing in the

(09:43):
as well as their non conference schedule as well, I
would give them the no there.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
All right, anyone on your card right now locked in
as the two?

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (09:53):
Do you have anyone locked in as a five? What
are some of the ones that you think are a
lock at this point in time?

Speaker 2 (10:01):
I think I still think it's it's kind of in motion,
just because teams can float back between a four and
a five something like that. Michigan State is a team
that I don't think, regardless would have what happens this
week and they don't fall below the two line, I
think they'll they'll be a two. I think Saint John's
as well is locked into to a two seed as
long as they as long as they win their first

(10:22):
game in the tournament, I think that they should be
a two seed. Regular season Biggiet Champ only gonna finish
with four or five losses at most. Those are two
kind of of the top teams there. It's looking like Yukon,
as I've seen a lot, is like.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
An eight seed. None of the one seeds are going
to going.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
To see Yukon if they win win their first matchups.
So that's something to keep an eye out for it
as well, because it's like oh our gift, and same
thing with like Gonzaga Gonzaga is going to finish as
a top ten team at KEMPOM and they're.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
Probably going to be an eight or nine seed. So
you're saying, I'm I.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Have a historically great season and my if is to
play a top ten team according to predictive metrics.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
You're like, you're like a computer. You're in and out
right the connection shot. All right, we're gonna call it. Hey,
look we're gonna go live on Sunday from the studio
in house, breaking down the bracket, getting an early jump
on that. We're gonna do that Sunday night, and who knows,
we might get together beforehand. But look, bottom line is

(11:32):
that's here. Manness is here. We'll be talking about it tomorrow.
Sam Osh is gonna be joining me on the Daily
Ticket at three pm. You'll be hearing beef as well,
futured throughout the course of the weekend next week. So
it makes you stay locked to the gambler. Peace,
