Speaker 1 (00:00):
Number one on your car radio preset hand the new
and improved Diehard.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Radio ads and WD two seven Bring d Philadelphia. It
is Fox Sports Radio the Gambler. Bring it on in
for a special edition of the daily Tickets I enjoyed
by my right hand man, swinging and dinging Harry Mays.
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
One of the best locations I've ever had to be
a part of is a backdrop for a show I've
been a part of my show, anything I've ever done
on the radio.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
We are fifteen green Side, sixteen t Side live at
the Truest Championship. Filled up your cricket club with the
hicking Course. Harry Mays. If I'm lying, I'm dying. How
are you doing, brother, I'm doing great. Man.
Speaker 4 (00:48):
There's no place I'd rather be than be right here
with you.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
And over the.
Speaker 5 (00:51):
Course of our career, which is now kind of extensive
by the way we're getting up there in the years.
If we've been in this business for quite some time,
we've been on some great location, true, and this is
definitely right up there with with.
Speaker 4 (01:03):
Any of the best.
Speaker 5 (01:04):
I mean, how great it is it to be here
at this golf course, on this day with this great
field that is out here trying to deal with the elements.
We're right behind one of the only two par fives
on the golf course. We just had Shane Lowry, Justin Rose,
and Keegan Bradley all come through and I think they
all made birdie out here. Wow, you gotta make birdie
here today. And then they take the left hand turn
(01:25):
and go to the par three which is playing about
one ninety eight today with the multi tiered green.
Speaker 4 (01:30):
You and I were out there earlier.
Speaker 5 (01:31):
Today watching shots coming into that back right pin position.
Speaker 4 (01:35):
I mean, this is where you want to be.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
This is right where you want to be man, And
of course shout out to powers production swinging and ding
it Moose. I know Danielle is gonna be up here,
so you're gonna hear a brand new swing and ding
it coming your way once again from this same location.
But I was able to get Harry Mays to join
me on this venture. We're gonna be joined by Luke
ar Kaney. He's gonna be our sixteen tees side correspondent.
(01:57):
We're gonna go live to the course to hear from
Lucar Canyan what's taking place on that par three over there,
long par three Today they can stretch.
Speaker 5 (02:05):
It to two fifteen with the back tee, which is
where it was yesterday. So is Luke going to be
down there like interviewing people with the hush tone jim
nance thing going on.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
I would imagine if that happens, there might be a
fine coming. I think we're able to get away with it.
Right here, President right next to us, gotcha, But I
don't know if we can cross that. You know that
moonlight ram line where things just completely change.
Speaker 5 (02:29):
But I'll tell you, the transfusions are flowing out everywhere
I look. Somebody's got a transfusion in their hand, unless
you're Kevin Bloomfield, one of our great listeners. He had
two and you got two seconds ago he just whacked
one of them.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
Cocktails and dreams. Yeah, it's unbelievable, and birdies. I gave
up vodka.
Speaker 4 (02:45):
I mean, what am I thinking?
Speaker 2 (02:47):
There's a bar like forty feet to my left. Yes,
right here. Well, we are fighting the elements, and again,
no one, we're not asking to feel sorry for us. No, yesterday,
what a day. It was eighty five, eighty degree sunny,
couple clouds in the sky, very hot, and we were
supposed to be live in the Elements again today, but
of course the weather comes in moves everything around. So
(03:10):
the PGA Tour has treated us with unbelievable respect for
what we're trying to do. What we've been doing, of course,
swinging and ding at the great podcast The Gambler, the show,
all that, and they put us up here in this
huge high rise, right up a fifteen green sixteen tea box.
It's tremendous what they were able to do for us.
Snapping of fingers, yeah, electricity of you know, Wi Fi,
(03:31):
the whole deal, and here you go, guys have fun.
Speaker 5 (03:34):
It was amazing and they put it all together in
no time. I mean, shout out to us Slash and Powers.
They do a terrific job behind the scenes here getting
this whole thing up and running.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
We're actually on camera. I mean, this is like a legit.
Speaker 5 (03:45):
This is like a totally legit, like high level broadcast.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
That's what we're doing right here. He could be only
found on The Gambler. Harry mays, you'll be catching it
with swinging and ding. Let's dive into somebody action. And
it's tough because they ticked he eat off at eight am,
so they already hit the ground run and a lot
of golf has already been played. But I don't want
to just hit the gas pedal and move off of
round one if you could. Of course, Keith Mitchell, who
(04:10):
I believe missed a shot on eighteen as well.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
He did so he could have been he could have
made sixty.
Speaker 5 (04:15):
Yeah, I mean, he smashed the course record as it is.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
The old record was sixty five.
Speaker 5 (04:22):
His back nine, which was his first nine, he went
three under for a thirty two, and then he just
went wild on the second nine, went six under.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
He birdied seventeen and eighteen.
Speaker 5 (04:33):
And one all together, and that's making the turn here
in seventeen and eighteen our healthy par four us.
Speaker 4 (04:39):
He burnied both of those, then went.
Speaker 5 (04:41):
To the first hole, which is a shorter par four,
plays as number eight for the cricket members, birdie that.
Then he goes and Bertie's five, six, seven, and eight
and came close to making one on nine to finish.
Speaker 4 (04:53):
Out for a sixty. He ends up with sixty one.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
And he's here on a sponsors exemption.
Speaker 5 (04:58):
So you talk about making the most of an exemption
and an opportunity right now, Keith bitch, and you figure, like, okay,
a lot of these guys will It's hard to back
that round up, right. Everybody says, oh, he shot sixty
one and probably ends up with a you know somewhere
around par tomorrow. He went out and made a couple
of birdies early today and he's sitting in the lead
at twelve under par.
Speaker 4 (05:16):
So it doesn't look like he's going anywhere soon.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
No, rightly not. And he right now currently is your
odds on favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook to win the Truest
Championship twenty twenty five minus three fifty eight lot of
golf to be paid. Yes, wait, and a lot of low,
low numbers are going to be thrown up, and.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
There's no cut too.
Speaker 5 (05:34):
So even these guys who are way down the board
right now, you know, they could throw up a number
that you know this afternoon from their closing holes and
then start out early.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
Tomorrow and then go wild. Who knows. I think the
bet the weather's gonna get much better for.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
The weekend, I agree, Yeah, only gonna you know, dampen
up those greens. So I just think they're gonna go
out there and shoot some darts as they were already
doing yesterday. We were talking a ton about that again,
staying with yesterday's steam if we could. Yeah, very similar
to Keith Mitchell's story as far as the sponsorship exemption.
Ricky Fowl. Yeah, Ricky who is a legend in my mind, right,
(06:08):
He's one of those guys that, like I paid attention
to a couple of years ago. I mean, he was
constantly up on the top of the leader board. Maybe
has fallen off a little bit. I know he changed
his swing I think a couple of years ago, whatever
it may be. But still it's great to see Ricky
out there. Harry. I never thought that he would throw
up the number he did yesterday with nine. Yesterday was
nine under. I want to say, correct, he's seven under yesterday.
Speaker 5 (06:28):
Yeah, I think he's at nine now. Yeah, he's two
under for the day. But yeah, he was seven under
twenty nine on the front nine. His first nine holes,
he was a blister. He set the pace. He made
a bogey at seventeen coming in, but then bounce back
with a birdie on his final hole to finish at
seven under. And he's another sponsors exemption guy. So making
the most of an opportunity all right.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
So, Luke carcaany is here with us. This is great,
get a towel live on air. Now, here's the deal.
We were set on the corner. We were set up
in the corner right and the wind was coming. Thank you,
everything was blowing this way. We were perfectly you know,
placed in the corner.
Speaker 4 (07:07):
Everything was great.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
All of a sudden, as soon as we were ready
to go live, the wind shifted and now it's blowing
on our back completely all over. I don't care about
getting wet. It's the electronics right right. So with that
being said, let's uh yeah, use that there live programming.
That's what we do here, all right. Luke Arcaney will
be joining us a little bit. We're gonna talk more
about what's the place yesterday. As far as being on
(07:31):
the course walking around, Harry and I got a great question.
As a man who has seen many professional tour stops,
jinny rounds of professional golf, I think this is a
great question because we're going to get a lot of
people come through those gates over the next forty eight hours.
And then, so what is your approach if somebody said, hey, man,
I got a ticket, right, I got my buddy we're going.
(07:52):
I've never been, and and I think it also changes
each each venue, right, Yes, this is definitely unique. It's small.
I think it's a place that if you strategically map
out where you want to go, you can catch a
te shot and then a green or you know, the
three players on the green play. Yeah. So from the
standpoint of if I'm asking you day one, would you
(08:14):
prefer to be on a green? Would you rather be
a tea box? Would you rather be set up in
a fairway for approaches? What would you say to that person?
Speaker 5 (08:21):
For I am not one that likes to be stationary
when I'm watching a golf tournament in person, I like
to roam around. I like to walk the golf course.
I typically will know the golf course a little bit
beforehand and I'll know where I want to go. And
I like to see te shots. I like to see.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
Rory McElroy being able to just.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
Let it out with the driver.
Speaker 5 (08:41):
I mean, you know, when you can stand fifteen feet
from a guy like that doing what he does with
the driver, it's something cool to see in sports. So
I like to get by a tea box and with
a group like that. He's got like He's got J. T.
Fleetwood with him today. That's the most popular group. Everybody's
trying to get a gander at those guys. So you know, oh,
you don't like here. You don't want to go one,
(09:03):
two or three because it's a bottleneck back there.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
I don't want to get involved in that.
Speaker 5 (09:06):
So I cut out to number four, which is a
longer part for they're gonna use driver, and I find
myself right around the bunker, knowing they're gonna probably hit
it right around that fairway bunker, and I'm going to
see the t shot land and then see their approach,
and then I go from there and jump ahead a
hole to get.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
To the t the tea box.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
That's my strategy. And I like that.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
And that's specific obviously to the cricket club here, yes
this weekend, and folks, I just think if you're looking
for an angle on edge, that's exactly what you need
to do. Just don't come to fifteenth fifteenth koreen and
come to the back of the boot. Because I'm getting
drenched right now. But that's all right.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
I took a shower already this morning.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
We're fighting the elements, ladies, that's what we do. Here now.
Look and from yesterday the question hit me. You know what, Luke,
let's bring you in here. Luke Rkandi is joining us.
We are once again live at the Truest Championship Harry
Mays with me swinging and the ding. It will be
coming your way in a little bit. We'll get a
brand new episode for all you guys out there, Guys
and girls, a lot of great listeners. I saw a
gentleman come up to you says, he listens to you
(10:06):
guy in the treadmill. Is that right? Yeah? I thought
that was pretty cool.
Speaker 4 (10:09):
We're helping people lose weight and stay healthy.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
How about that. That's what it takes, man, That's what
it takes. Put the headset on, Luke. You don't have
to sit down. My goodness, what's going on? Jim Jim
Nantz joining us? Hello Jim, do you bring your tie?
Speaker 6 (10:24):
Hello?
Speaker 2 (10:24):
Friend? There you go? All right? So Luke Luke rcanny
joining us. The best golfer as far as the Gambler
Gang is concerned, that's for sure. And when it comes
to talking about things baseball, there's a great job covering
the fields. Big big series victory there, big seek. We'll
talk a little bit more about that later, but I
was asking, and you know, a thing or two about
working on a golf course as well. For me, yesterday,
(10:47):
when I was walking the course, I didn't know where
I wanted to be, but I will tell you I
enjoyed the drives. But to me, it's about being on
the par three. If you could be green side or
even just you know, because of Part three short, So
if you could be somewhere in a good spot and
catch both action, to me that and you know me,
I like, I like a good party. That's where the
party was yesterday.
Speaker 5 (11:07):
What you're talking about the short one up there, number fourteen, Yeah, okay,
that's a good hold.
Speaker 4 (11:10):
One hundred and twenty yards.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
That's where the party was. So I'm kind of leaning
towards If somebody did approach me on that, I would say,
get to a part three first and see if that
hits you. If that suits you, I think you find
your spot. But if it doesn't, then I think you're
going to be blown away.
Speaker 6 (11:26):
Yeah. I think it's whatever you like too.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
If you want to watch Rory hit the ball three
hundred and seventy yards off the tea and go stand
on a tea box. But like, honestly, and I'm not
just saying this because this is where we are. I
love to watch them around the greens. I loved especially
this hole. They have to hit some some weird wed
shots around this hole, Like there's some some.
Speaker 6 (11:43):
Weird stuff that they have to do. We obviously have
the view.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
Of sixteen here as well, which is playing pretty pretty
long today.
Speaker 4 (11:51):
Yeah, it's one ninety eight.
Speaker 5 (11:53):
As you were saying, a lot of these guys are
trying to hit big fades into that back right pin
and they're handing up in a bunker right.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
They're trying to go right to left on sixteen with
a back right pin, and it doesn't really make sense. Listen,
That's why I'm I'm here and I'm not out there
on the T box. But it doesn't really make a
ton of sense to me. It feels like for righties
it should just be left to right fade in there, but.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
Just put it in the middle of the playing a lot.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
Of drawls over the right side, and I don't know.
It doesn't make a ton of sense to me. But
once again, that's why I'm up here and not down there.
Speaker 5 (12:22):
Well, yesterday pin was short front left, it was almost
off the green.
Speaker 4 (12:25):
Yeah, it was incredible.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
I do have some good groups coming up here too,
So fifteen green right now, I believe they're walking to
sixteen loud Big Oberg Russell, Henley steps STRAKAA is in
third right them in the fair way is Xander Schaffley,
uh Decki Matsiyama and yesterday, Oh ya, that's ridiculous hit
(12:49):
the ball.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
So all right, you've been walking around for the last
few days, Harry. Is there a golfer right now that
has gotten off to a good start, at decent start,
someone that's close to the lead or with plenty to play?
Is there a guy that you know what you liked
what you saw walking around and you see what he's
doing on the scoreboard right now, and maybe you're thinking
about over the next two rounds possibly following him, firing
(13:11):
on him.
Speaker 5 (13:11):
Well, I was following him earlier yesterday and this morning
watching it from the media center on the TV.
Speaker 4 (13:17):
They went out very early. Justin Thomas.
Speaker 5 (13:20):
He's playing with Rory McElroy and Tommy Fleetwood and I
just am watching him hit his wedge.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
He is in total control of his golf ball.
Speaker 5 (13:28):
Right now, and he loves he actually excels in this
kind of weather. You know when when the conditions get difficult,
he gets more creative and he's terrific around the greens,
like like you were saying, Luke, you know you're watching
him just sort of take apart a golf hole from
one hundred yards in is just it's it's art. And
(13:48):
I look at him. He's eight under right now, four
under for the day. He's a guy and tied for
fifth right now that I really am am thinking this
could be his week. Shane Lowry is another one. This
is a Shane Lowry days. I mean this is Shane
Lowry course.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
It really is.
Speaker 5 (14:03):
It really is low course, and he's eleven unders sitting
in second place by himself. He's five under today and
he's five under for the day. So yeah, those are
two guys.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
Right right then and there well Lowry and McElroy. Uh
they know a good thing at two about each other.
Plus four fifty Lowry right now to win the Truth Championship.
McRoy directly right behind or under him at plus six
fifty more Kyla seven to one Straka who I saw
put it about an inch away from that part three
fourteen yesterday. Great group that he's in and then JT,
(14:33):
who you brought up at twelve to one right.
Speaker 4 (14:35):
Now, Keith balt One?
Speaker 2 (14:36):
Yeah, well JS, Ricky stand on there. Ricky is directly
under JT at sixteen to one.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
Ricky's nine under total. He's only three shots back to
the lead. He's on a par today. This also kind
of feels like I know you said yesterday. I mean,
he's a sponsor invite that went out and shot seven
under yesterday.
Speaker 6 (14:53):
Like this seems kind of like one of those things.
Maybe he goes on a run.
Speaker 2 (14:56):
What are you guys thinking when it comes to the
final tallly final number after four rounds Weather included, We
know what we know heading into today from yesterday's perspective. Currently,
as I said, Mitchell, twelve under right now, where are
we at? And of course coming off of last week
with what Scotty thirty thirty one? Yeah, like are we
(15:17):
in the arena?
Speaker 1 (15:18):
You know, get many I feel like just the tendency
and tournaments on Sundays is you don't get a ton
of crazy low yeah Sundays because these these guys that
are in the top, they're not out there, you know,
trying to shoot seven eight nine on.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
It, trying to wait that'll do that exactly.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
You'll see a guy that's tied for thirty of shooting
eight under and end.
Speaker 5 (15:36):
Up in fit like speed shot sixty two last Sunday
came from back of the pack into second place, I.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
Mean leader right now, I'd probably say maybe around the
twenty more.
Speaker 5 (15:47):
I'm twenty two, I think which oe. By the way,
the number coming in was twenty one and a half,
was it? Okay, I'm going twenty two, never doubt. Yeah,
pretty good. What they do to those odds.
Speaker 4 (15:56):
Yeah, they know what they're doing.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
You know. Look, I hate to focus on what's a
place last week, but looking at some of the numbers
of some other golfers that went out there and did
what they did, having career rounds and then all of
a sudden still like twelve shots away from what Scotty
was doing. Yes, next week, it's insane.
Speaker 5 (16:12):
Yeah, it was a great golf tournament. Scotty Scheffer stayed home,
like he said this weekend. I mean he took me,
rahma right out of it.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
I madden shooting twenty four under and losing by set,
losing by seven. Yeah, that's not right, that's not right,
But that's the pgall Eric.
Speaker 5 (16:24):
Van Ruyam, right, Yeah, he played an incredibly out of
his mind.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Yeah all right. Actually, but te right there. Talked to
him on the driving range on Wednesday. Super down to
earth guy and one of the growing faces, let's just
put it that way on the PGA Tour. He is
currently on the fifteen green directly in front of us
broadcasting live from the Truest Championship chambres Harry Mays and
Luke Arcaney. But tea right now eight unders. So he's
(16:50):
a guy that possibly he's one on the PGA Tour.
Speaker 4 (16:52):
Oh yeah, So he's a.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Guy that possibly people should be taking a look at
twenty two to one right now to win it.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
And he's still looking for I feel like he's still
kind of searching for that first.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
Like Sig big win.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
Yeah, this would be like the little Ones, but going
out winning the Truest against a big field would be
this would be his true sounding.
Speaker 6 (17:11):
He just miss something or somebody just missed something.
Speaker 5 (17:14):
And he's playing in a group with Hiddeki Matsuyama and
Xander Schawfle, two guys with major championship pelts. I think
this is a really a really good first two days
for him to really kind of grow.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
He's going to be forced to continue to play better. Yeah,
off all weekend. Great use of the word pelt.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
I love Yeah, I love the helts, Yes, exactly, all right.
Do want to talk a little bit real quick if
we could a great friend of the program Angelo's cheese steaks,
those boys fed the PGA tour and Justin Thomas book
two Instagram talked about how he was ready to eat
the whole thing was a great picture. We gotta wear
SPF on the table. We gotta love that. Shout out
(17:52):
Justin Thomas.
Speaker 4 (17:52):
That's a JT thing, right, Yeah, absolutely tell you what.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
You might not need it today, but you're the rest
of the weekend. But you do know tomorrow you're gonna
need it.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
You do know that they say when it's really overcast,
that's when you get most sunburns. Did they really say
that they do? I don't know if that follows suit
today though. Now do you put it on the dome
every day? You have to have to what do you
go fifty? It's whatever's in the Let's be honest, it's
whatever's in that thing. Before we walk out, my daughters,
my wife is on my daughter constantly, on our face Yeah,
(18:21):
So there's always a bottle right before I leave the
house and once it turns to May April suns out.
That's why you're a hack eye. Yeah, definitely hat guy,
always has, always will be all right again, shout out
to Angelo's. We got some great sponsors that we're gonna
be talking about, tick Pick and so many others that
have helped put us at this space right here for
the full week once again a power's production. Nobody does
(18:41):
it better. Back to the Truest Championship from you know,
and we could even go back to Wednesday or when
you walked earlier in the week, Harry. What's something that
you know, may just smile. What's a moment that really
got the juices going for you? What is there a
moment that you were going to already think about, you
know what five years from now when you're telling a story.
(19:02):
Oh yeah, we were at the Cricket Club Truest Championship
and I remember X.
Speaker 4 (19:06):
I mean, you know, just being out here.
Speaker 5 (19:07):
I love to talk about where do you like to
go when you go to golf terms? I love to
be on the driving range. Oh yeah, and we were
out here on I was out here on Monday, to
come and get my you know, credentials and get the
lay of the land, that kind of thing. Nobody else
was here, but the range was buzzing, like every player
except JT and Rory were here.
Speaker 4 (19:26):
And they're all in there hitting it.
Speaker 5 (19:27):
You know, they got their track man's out, their foresight machines,
you name it, whatever. They're using, their coach, you know,
instructors behind them and they're grinding, you know, they're trying to,
you know, maybe figure out certain shots that they know
they're going to see out here on a on a
on a par four or something and working.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
And I love watching that, especially from.
Speaker 5 (19:44):
When you're ten feet behind them and you can stand
there like, you know, with the credential, you can get
right in there.
Speaker 4 (19:50):
That I find just totally fascinating.
Speaker 5 (19:52):
The other thing was I'm like, I think this place
is going to look absolutely beautiful on television. And we
were here for The Creator Classic, which was a terrific event.
By the way, you had team Team Richards ended up
winning it in sudden death, and I got home in
time enough to see it on TV. The end of
The Creator Classic and all the drone footage that they
(20:12):
were taking this place just pops on television, and that's
something that I was really looking for and excited about.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
I will follow up on that. Yesterday, having the opportunity
to get home and I watched the you know, the replays,
and I tend to do that a lot, especially if
I miss it live. Actually, one of my favorite things,
as far as the Master's concern, is to go belly
up at some hole in the wall bar and watch
the replay right, you know, like after it was played
in the afternoon, get to some bar, watch replay seven eight.
ESPN rolls it out right. So I enjoyed doing that
(20:40):
last night, and you get such a fresh perspective. You
see everything differently, entirely differently, and like you said, when
they involved the different camera shots, the drones, everything else
that they're adding to the broadcast. Of course, it's top class, right,
it's top class. So really cool to see that too,
as last night, Luke, I know you just got here.
What's something that is already catching your eye?
Speaker 1 (21:00):
I will say on sort of Harry's note, I was
standing out this morning and probably on eight thirty ish
by the putting Green and like just watching them.
Speaker 6 (21:08):
Go through their routine. Oh yeah, Like it's just very incredible.
It's incredible.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
I watched I watched Aaron Raye do a drill where
he probably had about a twenty foot breaking putt and
he wasn't putting at the hole. He put his ts
vertical to where he was and they were about probably
separated by about three inches, okay, and he had to
hit the perfect break to go around the teas and
put it through. Like just watching these guys go through
(21:34):
their routine that they do. Everybody does different drills, yeh.
Watching them get their track man numbers on the range,
like it's just you don't even understand. And like we
sit here and we watch it on TV every week,
or we watch it in person, and yes, we know
all these guys are great. They're they're unbelievable golfers that
would beat us all by a million shirt. But it's
(21:54):
it's even crazier to just watch their practice routine in
person because they're so particular about every single thing.
Speaker 2 (22:02):
And the caddies get out the levels. Yes, everybody's got
a level in their bag.
Speaker 5 (22:07):
Sean caddy gets it down their level and they're figuring
out with them, you know, how much degrees of is
this going right the left?
Speaker 4 (22:13):
I mean everything is dialed down to be so specific.
Speaker 5 (22:16):
And when I was here Monday, Matt Tayama was on
the green with his caddy at when I got here.
I left three hours later. He's still on the putting
green for three hours. You want to be a pro,
you want to be a pro exactly.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
And then some right, you gotta be able to hit
it three hundred and then to have that drive that
work ethic nuts and these guys can do whatever they want.
They could probably roll out of bed and shoot six
under of course, but you know you're not going to
do that four nights in a row, are you right?
One quick note on Shane Lowry. I believe he was
the last the.
Speaker 6 (22:47):
League range was. He was here till around eight or
nine o'clock.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
They got a good video of him with the sunset
smashing golf balls, and he played the program with Jason Kelce,
everybody one of the crowd favorites. As I was walking
around as well as we are live once again from
the Truest Championship and on whole fifteen and sixteen right
here right now, I got Harry May's with me. I
got Luke Arcaney. We're gonna talk a little bit more
(23:12):
about the waging perspective. See we can find and not
just wagering on whole sixteen here and see if we
can cash you here. Good. I don't think the people
back home would really care, but that's fine. But big picture,
we're talking about from the weekend standpoint, we're talking about
the overall number as far as where that winner is
going to find ground. Top five is a popular play
if we can go out there and find a golfer
to as far as top five is concerned, I also
(23:35):
did want to mix in some other fun stuff again
because I've had a lot of time on my hands.
It's for media member.
Speaker 4 (23:42):
Yeah, and I thought.
Speaker 2 (23:43):
To myself, Man, that is a hell of a gig
up until this weekend and this week I said, that
might be the toughest media gig out there as far
as season credentialed media members are concerned. Hockey, NBA, NFL,
major League Baseball. I think the PGA Tour media members
might have the toughest gig.
Speaker 6 (24:04):
Well, they're all in shape.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
Yeah, that well, it's a lot of walking, traveling, walking
all weekend.
Speaker 6 (24:09):
You're spread out, you're all over the country.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
Quotes aren't easy. You gotta like these guys are polished.
These golfers are all polished, right, right, everything that goes
into it.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
And you know, it's not like you know, baseball or football,
where you have for like a baseball season you play obviously,
what one hundred and sixty two games, you have eighty
one at home? Right, You're in a different state every
weekend to this, so I mean you're traveling for probably
about five six months straight.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (24:32):
I saw your post with that, and I liked it,
by the way, because you're absolutely right, man like, like
the topography of these places.
Speaker 4 (24:41):
I mean, if you walk.
Speaker 5 (24:42):
Augusta, Nashville and you're one of those big guys that
you know, you know, for big publication, you're inside.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
The ropes, that's a tough walk.
Speaker 5 (24:49):
And I don't care if you're you know, you're not
playing golf and you're not carrying a bag, but it's
still a tough walk for four straight days and you're
doing your job and then you got to lead up
you know, practice rounds and everything.
Speaker 4 (24:59):
You get your steps in.
Speaker 2 (25:00):
Oh yes, let's tell you what.
Speaker 5 (25:01):
But I got to give a shout out to this
place too for the PGA, the food in the media.
Speaker 4 (25:06):
Area, it's spectacular.
Speaker 2 (25:08):
Yeah, red carpet.
Speaker 6 (25:10):
This morning, I had a nice blueberry muffin. Absolutely incredible,
absolutely incredible.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
Speaking of you know, I don't know if the muffins
are as good as this to you right here now now,
if I could paint the picture. We are in this tent,
this huge tent that has about probably twenty twenty rows
of people all sitting down, but then obviously you got
rows and rows of people just standing up. We got
two TV monitors that are kind of not kind of
but they're wrapped in plastic right now protecting from the rain.
(25:38):
So it's tough to really see. But man, somebody cleared out.
A lot of people have cleared out, and I could
just see right here the approach shots probably about eighty
ninety five yards out right here. This is a heck
of you right now.
Speaker 4 (25:50):
Yeah, about half the room cleared out.
Speaker 5 (25:51):
After Shane Lowry and Keegan and Justin Rose's group there
you got all made Birdie and then made their way
over to sixteen.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
They all left.
Speaker 6 (25:58):
They want to watch the captain.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
Have the captain right? Uh? Luke any idea who is
now hitting approach shots?
Speaker 6 (26:06):
I believe Daniel Berger's group right now. I can't necessarily
see who is behind them.
Speaker 5 (26:12):
On the T box Burgers with Garrick Higgo and Jacob Bridge.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
Yes, today I believe are in the middle of the failure.
Right now, the rain continues to come down even harder
than it was. Yeah, and then whatever group, wow, that's
pelting down.
Speaker 2 (26:27):
Whatever group is behind them, that's fine here. But yeah,
I want to uh, we're gonna bring Danielle a little
bit here. Of course, Danielle Matthews from swinging and ding
it as well, Harry. When you look at what we're
dealing with as far as weather is concerned, right now,
we're just playing straight through. You don't see for sea
without looking into the doppler and strapping on a bow
(26:48):
tie like Hurricane Schwartz, right.
Speaker 5 (26:50):
I mean, I don't anticipate ponding on the greens right now.
The rain isn't that heavy, h but the wind is
picking up definitely, And as long as there's no lightning,
I think they're going. You know, it's crazy because we
were talking about what takes place if lightning does strike.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
Yeah, and of course you know what happens with the players.
They are automatically stop. But if they clear out everybody
as far as the grand stands are concerned.
Speaker 4 (27:11):
Where are we going? I don't know what we do same.
Speaker 5 (27:13):
I mean I was at Bethpage once when they had
a lightning strike and we went under a tree for
about an hour. I never left the golf course because
I'm like, once I get in that van, if I
have to go in a van and get out of here,
I'm not coming back. So I stayed through it. But
that's you know, you're not supposed to do that.
Speaker 2 (27:29):
That's how we operate, just helping the headset if I
do this. Yeah, so that's all right. We are We're
coming to you live fifteen and sixteen at the Truest Championship.
This is what it's all about. This is where we're
earning all those stripes. This is why you lift all
those weights. All right again later boy. Right now we're
looking at Mitchell. He is plus three sixty, Lowry plus
(27:49):
four fifty. Not much movements since last time we spoke
about these numbers. Here is there a golfer in mind? Boys,
top five, top ten that you've liked what you've seen
so far, you feel like the course is super them well,
and we should have them as a play over the
next two rounds.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
I'll tell you what I'm gonna look at ox Shay.
I don't I don't know if if he if he's
in the plus money for top five now he is
top five, I would yeah, if he's somehow still in
the plus money.
Speaker 2 (28:15):
I'm looking at plus four top five for Oksha.
Speaker 6 (28:17):
Yeah, yeah, I like that. I like that a lot.
Speaker 1 (28:20):
He's he's had a very nice start as far as
the other guys down here?
Speaker 4 (28:25):
Where is what is what's Nick Taylor's number?
Speaker 6 (28:28):
I was also he's what four for today?
Speaker 4 (28:31):
He's Canadian?
Speaker 5 (28:32):
And I was told that both he and Connors love
this place because it reminds him of playing in Canada,
Like the grasses are similar to bent grass stuff, and
they just really like it was almost like playing a
home game.
Speaker 4 (28:46):
So you know, what's what's Nick Taylor's number?
Speaker 2 (28:48):
Plus on right now? Nick Taylor plus four fifty? Okay,
he can roll it. I mean he could putt I
will say.
Speaker 6 (28:54):
And I don't know if we're gonna get the win
out of him.
Speaker 1 (28:56):
I believe he's five shots or six shots back now,
but I'm still holding on to Max Homa.
Speaker 6 (29:03):
Fifteen to one.
Speaker 4 (29:04):
Good week for him so far.
Speaker 6 (29:06):
Crowds under on the weekend.
Speaker 4 (29:09):
And he's another guy you talk about Lowry here late night.
The other night. Max Homa was the last guy on
the range on Monday. Just grinding man.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
Yeah, it's it's been about an eight month grind for him.
Speaker 4 (29:20):
He changed, he changed everything.
Speaker 1 (29:22):
We talked about this earlier. He he changed just about everything.
He changes swim coach, He's changed his equipment, he changed
his caddy, sponsorships on his clothes, he changed his caddy.
He's it was a rough I would say, end to
his last season and beginning. But obviously he had I believe,
a top twelve at the Master's twelve. Yeah, and then
a nice week I believe two weeks ago. So he's
(29:43):
start friend and he started a friend. He is definitely trying.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
To speaking of you know, things that I guess you
could say adversity, but is it a creation of their own?
What took place with more Kawa and his his caddy,
because I did see that and breakdown yesterday on CBS.
Uh the gentleman who was interview didn't really dive deep
into it, but he was very open about what took place.
It was more Cowa's caddy, lifelong caddy that he did.
(30:07):
You know, decided to go separate ways.
Speaker 4 (30:09):
Yeah, well more Kalas now has Homer's caddy.
Speaker 5 (30:11):
I believe Joe Reiner, who in the midst played with
Justin Thomas a few weeks ago and got a win
in Hilton Head.
Speaker 4 (30:19):
So Joe Reiner is looking really good right now.
Speaker 5 (30:21):
And if you're Max Homer, you might be thinking like, man,
what am I doing here?
Speaker 2 (30:25):
I parted ways with my good buddy.
Speaker 5 (30:27):
I've geting onto my bag for all these years and
now he's going and winning. And now any environment that
they have perfect bumpers, Oh yeah, I believe that.
Speaker 2 (30:34):
But they are good, no doubt about that. Speaking of good,
is this scene right here, right now? This is great.
What I'm gonna do is this though two more minutes
and we're gonna take the time out. We'll get Dan
yell over here. We're gonna stay a lot. We're in this.
Speaker 1 (30:46):
Yeah we're not.
Speaker 2 (30:50):
But uh just radio magic. I'm gonna replace it for
three o'clock. Anyways, with that being said, Luke, if I
could you do a great job covering the Gambler for
us or covering the Gamble, covering the Phillies for the
Gambler crossing broad dot Com take us through. Give us
the recap on what the Phillies did over the over
the past three games. Yeah, sweeping the Rays and now
what's next.
Speaker 1 (31:07):
Yeah, I think that was probably the best series so
far this year for the Phillies. And and and I'm
not necessarily just saying that because it was a sweep.
I thought they every sort of issue that we I
would say, had or some people had in the beginning
of the year, they they they sort of solved it.
They've been playing, you.
Speaker 6 (31:27):
Know, not just home runner bust baseball.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
I mean they laid down four sack bunts in three
games this week.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
Yeah, where did that come from?
Speaker 1 (31:34):
That sack bunce ton of opposite field hits. There was
a stretch.
Speaker 6 (31:39):
I believe it was.
Speaker 1 (31:41):
Wednesday night. Uh so the second game of the series.
I believe it was the eighth inning. They went sack bunt,
opposite field, hit sack bunt opposite field, hit double to
the gap in crab five in a row like that.
That is what happened to the Phillies. And and and
where did they go? Because that was not them? But yeah,
they're just starting to really play extremely like complete baseball
(32:03):
right right. They look like a baseball team. They don't
look like a team that's going out and just trying
to hit home runs.
Speaker 4 (32:09):
And Taiwan Walker gave him another run, got a two four.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
R right now.
Speaker 6 (32:13):
But the dude looks really good.
Speaker 1 (32:16):
I was a little hesitant on him going to the bullpen,
just because I don't think his stuff really works great
out of the bullpen. But I mean I was very
much proven wrong Wednesday night. I believe six strikeouts in
three innings his first career save. He has a two
hundred and something starts in his career, and I believe
he has one more game appeared than starts. He's basically
(32:38):
just always been a starter. Yeah, and I believe his
eighth or ninth ever.
Speaker 6 (32:42):
Bullpen appearance, he got his first career save. They're just
clicking right now.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
They go into Cleveland this weekend versus a good Cleveland
team but not fifteen, not great, so that that should
be another series win. I mean, they've won four series
in a row. They're now a handful of games over
five hundred. They have a favorable home stretch. Next week
they have the Cardinals and the Pirates, both winnable series.
Speaker 6 (33:08):
So this is the month. May is the easiest month
for them.
Speaker 5 (33:10):
It was kind of crazy though, watching them play in
a minor league stadium.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
Way, Yeah, it's crazy.
Speaker 6 (33:15):
I have my ups and downs to it.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
I think it's cool to kind of just get like
the kind of like intact baseball feel like.
Speaker 6 (33:23):
It's cool. There's only like nine ten thousand fans in there.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
But at the same time, there was two home runs
hit by the Rays this series, and both of them
would have only been a home run at that stadium, right,
So there's been a little bit of some iffy home
runs that they hit. But yeah, I just think they're
clicking right now. They have a very favorable stretch. May
is their month. They played two teams all the month
of May that are over five hundred right now, So
(33:47):
this is really the month to get some wins, get
some a nice lead in the division, and sort of
build on.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
The season here.
Speaker 5 (33:56):
And generally, I mean you talk about the favorable schedule, generally,
May is when it's arts getting hitting season.
Speaker 4 (34:01):
Yeah, you know, the temperature starts.
Speaker 1 (34:02):
To get May is the true warm up June and
then they really get going.
Speaker 6 (34:08):
Yeah, so they have a nice little stretcher.
Speaker 2 (34:10):
All right. Once again, we were coming to you live
from the Truest Championship. Folks can't thank the fine friends
over there at where SPF. If you're looking for some
protection that actually works and feels great, you got to
check out Where SPF by PGA pro Justin Tomas we
are talking about could potentially be getting the job done.
(34:30):
This weekend, dermatologists tested sweat Resistant. It's brought specs from

I like that from the first t to everyday life.
Protect yourself like the pros. Shop now at wear SPF
dot com, Wear SPF dot com and stay sun save
all year long, even today. Harry Mays appreciate you hanging
(34:51):
out to kick off the show. We're not going anywhere.
Luke Rcaney as well as hanging Danielle Matthews is gonna
join us once again. We are live from the Truest
Championship Green fifteen Teesside sixteen back after this round two
(35:27):
live in the Jury Championship of course, put up the
Cricket Club with the hicking course. It is a beautiful
day here in the Delaware Valley, absolutely perfect for a
golf tournament filled with some of the best PGA Tour
players out there. And of course a radio show. I kid. Anyways,
we're not going to be and see about that too much.
Chambres Harry Mays back with you, Danielle Matthews, live in
(35:50):
the flesh. Great to have you up from Florida. Your
perfect weather.
Speaker 7 (35:54):
I brought it with me. Oh my god, I'm so cold.
I underdressed. I'm freezing. I'm looking for handwarmers listening has them?
Please come over to fifteen hand warmers. Have a scarf,
a beanie, another jacket. Maybe you are a little underdressed,
you know, Ery Marshall, I'm so soft, the blood is stined.
Speaker 2 (36:13):
It's like dumb and dumber. I'm like, I'm sweating over here.
Do you want my jacket? I offered.
Speaker 7 (36:19):
Everyone's offering, but I don't want y'all to be called either.
Speaker 2 (36:21):
Well, yeah it is, I believe starting to clear up.
Am I allowed to say it? I'm a doppler guy.
And you know where I learned to be a doppler
guy when I worked at River Ridge Golf Course in Raleigh,
North Carolina for three years. Shout out Craig Hooks is
still a superintendent there. One of the best jobs of
my lifetime. Live and Die by the Doppler brother. And
(36:44):
here we are. I think it is going to dry up.
It started raining sideways on our backs. Yeah, we called
a twenty minute time out, twenty second time out, twenty
minute whatever it was. And now here we are. But
the golf course is playing great right now. These guys
are shooting low numbers. What a scene it is in
front of us, Dan Out. Amazing to be able to see.
And this is ga too, this is general population is
(37:05):
able to just walk right up and grab a seat.
That's right. This has to be the one spot on
the course you're able to do that.
Speaker 7 (37:11):
And the best part is it's a part five, so
there's so many birdie opportunities. We just saw Danny McCarthy
make birdie and you know it gets the people going.
We hear a bunch of roars. You see a Bertie love.
So we're getting to see a lot of the third
shots come in getting the kind of sh uh, you know,
putting it kind of clothes and then watching some birdies
and hearing the cry.
Speaker 2 (37:28):
It's not quite the TPC Scottsdale Vine.
Speaker 5 (37:31):
It is close, but guys, don't you know, guys come
up short, they hear it, they give you we heard No,
I'm not taking my shirt off, it's too cold. But
we heard some eagles chance, yes, breaking out too, about
ten ten fifteen minutes ago.
Speaker 2 (37:44):
And you know, it does make you think about TBC
Scott still, the fact that they let the beers fly. Yeah,
these things are so expensive these days. Out of my
hand for somebody to throw. Yeah, I'm not throwing that
out there.
Speaker 4 (37:56):
I drink the foam there you seriously I.
Speaker 7 (38:00):
Saw Harry licking the cup.
Speaker 2 (38:02):
But I'm not drinking today, all right, you know, staying
dry with that side of things.
Speaker 7 (38:07):
And also putting on my SPF just in case the
sun peaks.
Speaker 2 (38:10):
Through a where SPF shout out JT. So here we
are right now, Truist Championship, checking out the leaderboard. Keith
Mitchell in with the second round, sixty seventh. Harry, I'm
gonna come to you on this one, like, what can
you say about the start for Keith Mitchell that hasn't
already been said?
Speaker 5 (38:27):
Unbelievable, it's terrific, and you know he backed it up
with a three under round today.
Speaker 4 (38:31):
Tough to back up of sixty one. I don't care
where you're playing or what the weather is.
Speaker 5 (38:35):
Shattered the record, but yeah, shattered it by four shots yesterday.
Speaker 4 (38:39):
Could have been more. He could have made a birdie
on the final and didn't.
Speaker 5 (38:42):
But yeah, a steady round today. You know he's been
he's one of these guys. He's got one win. He
won down at the Honda a few years ago, down
in your neck of the woods.
Speaker 4 (38:51):
Danielle came out of nowhere.
Speaker 5 (38:53):
He was a kind of a no name kind of
guy and then all of a sudden, boom, there he wins,
and everybody's like, okay. Keith Mitchell and he's a first
round behemoth as far as gambling.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
He's had the.
Speaker 5 (39:05):
Share or solo first round lead three times already this
season of Sean and I know you know that. But
where he's come up small has been on Sundays where
he just his game goes into neutral and you know,
he shoots even par and gets and gets leaped and
doesn't win.
Speaker 4 (39:21):
So we'll see what happens.
Speaker 5 (39:22):
Is a long way to go soles for him, and
some of these guys aren't even halfway done with their
second round yet.
Speaker 7 (39:29):
Did you get a look at him kashmir, Keith? Was
he wearing his kashmir today? Did he have a four
button Folo and at.
Speaker 5 (39:35):
The top I couldn't tell he had like you know,
you know, a little rain gear and stuff.
Speaker 2 (39:39):
Everyone he always looks good. Yeah, you're right about that.
Everyone looks the same today. But full disclosure, we were
talking about this earlier. So yesterday all over the course,
was able to follow a bunch of players. He happened
to be one of them. Had no idea as far
as the leaderboard was concerned that he was doing what
he was doing. Trust weak, I was, you know, I
was just up in the top part fourteen, just me
(39:59):
and and around finding my way and and oh, this
is such an unbelievable layout. It's perfect. Like you can
set up, look to your right and you're watching a
t shot. Then you look to your left and you
see guys like Jordan's speet on the green right. So
I'm following him. And the first thing I said to Harry,
I'm like, where is he from? He looks like a
southern gentleman bang Georgia.
Speaker 4 (40:18):
Correct, one of the many bulldogs on tour.
Speaker 2 (40:22):
Yeah, all right, so crowd favorite right now, of course,
top of the list. I'm gonna put Shane Lowry at
the top. And he looks like Kelse. He just gives
off that vibe, right, and of course we talked earlier
this is kind of like ballpark weather for him, just
a Shane Lowry days like this, right. So he shoots
a sixty five in his second round. Harry mays your
(40:44):
thoughts on Shane Lowry right now, And here's perspective as
far as the weekend is concerned.
Speaker 5 (40:48):
Yeah, man, I mean, you know, he's perfect for this
golf course. He's perfect for this kind of weather. We'll
see what he's got this weekend. But you know, terrific
iron player, and he's terrific around the green.
Speaker 4 (41:00):
Talk about hands. That guy. He can get up and
down from anywhere any lie.
Speaker 6 (41:05):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (41:05):
And this rough is just gonna keep growing. I know
it was three inches earlier in the week. It'll be
probably four four and a half by the time they
get to a Sunday because all this rain. He is
terrific around the greens.
Speaker 7 (41:16):
And Harry strokes gained approach to the green and he
rents first.
Speaker 2 (41:19):
Is that right, bro?
Speaker 7 (41:20):
Twenty four strokes gained on the green, So yeah, he's
rolling it.
Speaker 4 (41:24):
Well, it's a second shot golf course, so there you go.
Speaker 2 (41:26):
Yes, Danielle over to you on this one, because I
know you could talk a little bit more about what
it takes from the standpoint of a player's mental and
and when the ups and downs he ebs and flows
stuff he's in it something, stuff that's out of your
control as well. Ricky Fowler is a little bit more,
you know, because he's been around the game a lot longer,
but he's been through a lot. So here he is
(41:48):
today and of course yesterday right now he's eight under.
Yesterday goes out and shoots the lights out. Just talk,
what do you think is going through Ricky Fowler's mind
right now? Of course, he's a guy that knows how
to win on this tour or and he wants to
come up strong and get the job done over the
next two rounds. But he's got to be so proud
of what he's been able to do with these first
two rounds. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (42:08):
Absolutely, And he's playing this week on a sponsor's exemption,
right so in here and having that opportunity today he
still has a couple hold left three. Birdie's kind of
evened out with the two bogeys, but you know, Ricky's
due again soon. He's he had some kids, you know,
doing a family thing, trying to find balance. But he's due.
He's not exactly trending right now, but I'm glad he
(42:28):
got this opportunity this week and excited to see kind
of what he puts together.
Speaker 2 (42:32):
And definitely a crowd favorite, a huge crowd Faber.
Speaker 7 (42:34):
I think Ricky will always be the orange thing with
the kids. You know, kind of faded a little bit.
But if you met him in person, or even if
you just saw him walking around here, you couldn't meet
a nicer guy. He'll sit there if you need directions,
he'll tell you where to go. He's just a genuine
nice guy. And I feel like that's got to the golf.
God's got to give you a little bit of something
for being a cool person.
Speaker 2 (42:52):
You gotta believe in the karma a little bit there.
Sure we're live here for truest championship. Harry Mays, Daniel
Matthews sean brace of course, Fox Sports to Gambler. Literally
fifteen greenside sixteen t side the par three about one
ninety plus over there, rain rain coming to a little
bit of a pause. If I may still overcast as hell,
(43:14):
And that's why you need to wear your SPF forty
wear SPF right, exactly.
Speaker 7 (43:19):
You have no idea even though it's a little cloudy,
you don't know we coming through getting us.
Speaker 2 (43:24):
Let's talk about Justin Thomas for a second here. JT
is rowing. We were hitting on him a little earlier,
saying that he definitely has the look to potentially get
it done over the weekend. Danielle, your thoughts on JT.
Of course, he was able to win down there, and
Charleston has been playing really well this season and it's
great to see his name up there at the leaderboard.
But it's one guy that, like I want to see
(43:45):
get over to Hump and win it. Yeah, a little
bit too much to expect today or this weekend.
Speaker 7 (43:50):
Or No, I don't know that I have JT hoisting
the trophy at the end of the week. I don't
know if Harry has a different thought five right now. Yeah,
but I just don't know that I see him. You know,
like I said, at the end of the week, he
when you're playing good golf, you're playing good golf. And
as you said, we just seen him winning a playoff
two weeks ago, so you know you're saying there's a
chance there definitely is I don't know what. We'll have
(44:11):
to see where he finishes up. I mean, where are we.
Speaker 2 (44:13):
At right now?
Speaker 5 (44:14):
He is, he's seven under under for the day. Yeah, yeah,
so ogi on the second last hole, which is one
of the long part threes five.
Speaker 2 (44:24):
But I like his chances.
Speaker 5 (44:26):
Yeah, you're doing to doing he stinks he's four He
was four under.
Speaker 7 (44:32):
If you guys haven't listened to do our pod before,
you got to do it and listen. Harry is a
fair Weather fan when it comes to our golfer.
Speaker 2 (44:38):
He's all in.
Speaker 7 (44:40):
You know, I'm in love or I hate you.
Speaker 2 (44:46):
The other day I met up with a friend of
mine who's at Manchester United fan, and I'm like, dude,
I don't mean to sound like this. I'm not a
fair Weather fan, but like I got so much going on,
and if you're just not a good team, like I
don't know if I can sit there and watch he goes. Dude,
you just just describe a fair Weather fan. Yeah, that right,
that's kind of yeah, yeah, that's me fair fan. Photo
(45:06):
that's going on, Like, I got a lot going on
these days, all right. I want to focus on some
of the players that have finished up, of course, with
their second round.
Speaker 4 (45:13):
Rory McIlroy seven under par just finished up.
Speaker 2 (45:16):
Another watch And you're not overstating it because I don't
think there's anybody that's playing better than Roy right not
right now, throughout the course of the season so far.
To that was a little bit of a.
Speaker 7 (45:26):
Surprise for big fans.
Speaker 2 (45:28):
Big fan. Yeah, and one of the bright faces that
the PGA Tour has coming up right now, and I
saw his face center on the huge truck that was
set up. Where did the trucks go? They got to leave.
Speaker 7 (45:42):
They're only here for Wednesday, and then once you start
the tournament, you got to deal with it.
Speaker 5 (45:45):
You know, you can't visit the truck once a tournament,
no adjusting, no nothing wrong.
Speaker 2 (45:50):
Well, really you have to do that yourself. I mean
you keep you know, you got a wrench.
Speaker 4 (45:55):
You got a wrench.
Speaker 2 (45:56):
I thought, this is like motocross.
Speaker 7 (45:58):
Or star switching the degrees of your driving with the driver.
Speaker 2 (46:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (46:04):
No, tour trucks pull up. They probably get here on
Monday and they're here all week for you to you know,
grab your gloves, grab your balls, get new equipment.
Speaker 2 (46:11):
What if you want to try a new putter that
was catching your eye on like Wednesday and you're like,
all right, this putter sucks Saturday, I need a new putter.
Can I change? I should have taken it on Wednesday?
Speaker 7 (46:19):
And that's what they do. You should see you go
up to the green on Wednesday and you'll see Scotty Cameron,
like you'll see every other Potter company, you know, with
their putters all over the green. And you go walk,
you pick one up, you hit a couple of punts.
Do you think it's good these guys? Yeah, don't take
two or three, throw it in their bag and then
the little side which one they want? But you know
(46:41):
you have to see.
Speaker 2 (46:41):
I like that. Good to know. And of course yes,
those vans are those trucks were right behind us right
here where we're currently broadcasting right now. And it's been
a great week of course as we're rolling in here
on a Friday. But let's keep talking about some of
the players that are currently out there on the course
right here, right now. And again you can't about to
finish up.
Speaker 7 (47:01):
But he's playing.
Speaker 5 (47:02):
We had a little trouble backing up that great round
of yesterday's eight under. He's two over right now with
a few holes to play.
Speaker 7 (47:12):
Yeah, I want to see him bounce back every night.
Speaker 5 (47:14):
Gary Woodland, Yeah, chorus, sponsor's exemption, another sponsors?
Speaker 2 (47:19):
How many normally do we see those.
Speaker 4 (47:21):
Four for this tournament?
Speaker 2 (47:22):
Really? Is that? Is that normal for each tournament?
Speaker 7 (47:25):
Or is do we send sometimes it's two, sometimes three four?
It's an elevated event. I think it also.
Speaker 2 (47:30):
Depends without getting too much into the details, is it
there are specific reasons, like I know Ricky won this before,
so that was him, what was Gary Woodland's Gary.
Speaker 4 (47:40):
Woodland's story through this story the brain.
Speaker 7 (47:43):
Yeah, and it really has to be the tournament director
right in choosing. And we actually talked about this on
our show because I was slightly disappointed in the choices
for the exemptions at first, because I said, Harry Higgs
isn't playing great right now. Obviously, Brandon, I'm not going
to bring him into the mix because it's too close
to home. But somebody that's a local guy, a lot
of times they'll choose to do that because then you're
probably going to sell minimum two hundred plus more tickets.
(48:06):
We're going to have the big crowds, You're going to have.
Speaker 2 (48:08):
That simple golf team would be front and center.
Speaker 7 (48:10):
Literally all around, you know.
Speaker 2 (48:12):
In the gas closed right now.
Speaker 7 (48:17):
But that type of thing. So I like, when you
know an exemption, at least one unrestricted spot would go
to maybe a local guy or somebody that's going to
bring in that and then maybe you have it here.
But with this tournament, as you know, it's been bounced
around a few times. You know, it was the Wells Fargo.
We've seen it here, We've seen it there. We're only
seeing it here at Philly Cricket once. But I'm so
happy it's here and that all these people are are
(48:39):
exposed to Philly golf. We saw JT down at Angelo's.
I'm like, get this Philly flavor. Get these people addicted.
Speaker 2 (48:45):
To this area.
Speaker 7 (48:45):
Know what an embarrassment of riches we have on these
golf courses, and bring the tour back here for a
little bit more golf. Hopefully we'll see it.
Speaker 2 (48:54):
Well six Ironomic, what do you know about that?
Speaker 5 (48:58):
Coruse Harry Long High Rough and uh, it just beats
you up.
Speaker 2 (49:05):
Yeah, it beats you up.
Speaker 4 (49:06):
And they've had a few PGA Tour events there. I
mean Justin Rose was won there when it was the
at and T.
Speaker 5 (49:11):
When Tigers event moved up here, then the Peach or
the BMW Keegan Bradley outdueled Justin Rose for for a
win there. So you got to keep it long and
straight man at that place.
Speaker 2 (49:25):
I believe Colton knows just how you say his last name. Yeah.
So he was talking about I'm staying downtown. People throw
me some spots. Somebody took a shot at him. Whatever.
Speaker 4 (49:33):
But he was a Cowboys fan.
Speaker 2 (49:34):
Okay, that's fine. Yes, But this dude checked in and
he's like, this area is an unsung golf mecca, cricket Club,
White Marsh Valley Manufacturers, Northfield, Sandy Run, Lulu, Huntington Valley Film.
That's the same thing to say, I didn't know on
that level. Great, great, Yeah, I mean you.
Speaker 7 (49:57):
Could more to that too, Like it's like nineteen twelve
for me.
Speaker 2 (50:02):
I love that place.
Speaker 5 (50:03):
Lou is the best. Lou is the best. Out to
John Rusk and that gap team.
Speaker 2 (50:07):
All right, we're starting to get a little bit rain
now coming back on our backside. That's all right, that's
all right, staying another player that of course, is a
crowd favorite. I get it, I get you know, hooked
on those guys. Tony Fen Now, Tony, you know what.
That's what I took away from just a couple of
minutes of watching him on the green when people are
talking to him and he's taking pictures with like, you know,
(50:29):
Jimmy fly snook us hands up, great dude.
Speaker 7 (50:32):
Yeah, and he could he could meet you right here,
and you'll see him in three years. He'll be like
John fifteen right truest Philadelphia.
Speaker 2 (50:40):
You're like, wait what you are? I love it? He
was even far today.
Speaker 7 (50:47):
Yeah, great guy though Easio j had.
Speaker 2 (50:50):
He was five under.
Speaker 5 (50:51):
He's five under and he's still got a couple of
holes to play. He's gotten it to six under, which
is good enough for tie for twelve.
Speaker 7 (50:58):
Colin too.
Speaker 2 (50:59):
He was even today. He was even today, so.
Speaker 7 (51:02):
Oh yeah, he had a double one seventeen.
Speaker 2 (51:05):
As we sit here right now, of course, a lot
of these golfers are in sebstract. Come on down to
the front here. He's the Georgia Bulldog. Really third third
on the odds board six to one. Uh. He is
in front of Rory at plus six six point fifty.
Can't lays ten to one. He's new to the party
two as well. So far as the shifting is the odsboard,
then we're going to see a constant movement over the
(51:25):
next two days, no doubt about it. But it is
great to see somebody's names that they're including JT. Also
have fourteen to one, putting that to the side just
for a second, Danielle, we stumbled into this conversation. There
was one that I got into yesterday. You know, this
is different, it's unique. This place is tight, and like
I said, you could be a one spot. You're watching
them drive, you turn your head to the left, now
(51:46):
you're on the green. To me, if I was if
somebody came up to me and asked me, hey, what
should be my approach my first time going to a
professional golf tour stop, what would you say? I say,
Park Three's Park threes?
Speaker 7 (52:00):
Know what like?
Speaker 2 (52:00):
Cause that's where the parties at ore is on part three.
Speaker 7 (52:03):
I guess in some sense, Well, okay, so if we're
talking about today, I'd say come to fifteen because you'll
see US coverage and we're on a par five hole.
So come out to fifteen. Great and see us here.
But in general, like if you come out this weekend
and the weather's a little bit better, I say, don't
just sit at one hole. I say say it a
hole for you know, maybe two or three rounds. But
also if you're a fan of somebody, right, you're a
(52:25):
fan of Rory, get out there and watch Rory play
one or two holds. Bounce over, see Mitchell play a
few holds, go out catch Ricky Falor. I think you don't.
I don't love sitting up, you know, posting up on
one hole. I like to, you know, follow a player
or two for a few holes. Check it out that way.
There you get to see multiple players, you get to
see the course, you get to see how certain holes play,
you know, and there's bars so you can stop and
(52:46):
get a bevergino on a couple of different spots, you know.
So don't don't stay.
Speaker 2 (52:50):
In one spot.
Speaker 4 (52:51):
My wife is staying in one spot. It's the Michelobolt.
Speaker 2 (52:56):
I'm sure they're well into it it right, yeah right.
Speaker 7 (53:00):
She also is from the area and she.
Speaker 2 (53:02):
Knows the courts and very comfortable over there at the
I almost called it nineteen twelve club that.
Speaker 7 (53:06):
Too, Yes, Nick, I need to head over there. Hopefully
they have some space heaters.
Speaker 2 (53:12):
I don't know if they will have that, but yes,
we could definitely use some of that today. Here little
chili win coming in, but that's all right. We got
Luke car Kenny, we got the Gambler gang hanging out
with us, Danielle Matthews, Harry Mays continuing to talk all
things Truest Championship and again swinging and dinging if you
missed anything. Brand new episode we uploaded yesterday at Fox PHL.
Gambler A highlight from that recording, which was great. It's
(53:35):
always good to have you guys in the flesh altogether.
Number one, number two on location where the red carpet
was rolled out like where we were on Wednesday, tremendous.
A highlight from that recording for you.
Speaker 7 (53:45):
Oh well, obviously it's always great to be in person
with Moose and Mays.
Speaker 2 (53:49):
It's cool.
Speaker 7 (53:50):
I feel like we just flow a little bit.
Speaker 2 (53:51):
Back in person, no doubt about that.
Speaker 7 (53:53):
But I think just the Creator Classic was my first
classic to be in person and just see kind of
the different element and different fans of golf. So we
got to go over there, and you know, I think
for Harry and then like, well, I'll let him say
his own highlight, but I got to see him kind
of looking at Jordan's peak on the range and checking
out his swing and stuff like that. That was kind
of cool watching them enjoy that aspect.
Speaker 5 (54:13):
Well, it's nice to be with that close to page
spear and act. The restraining order didn't kick in.
Speaker 2 (54:18):
Yeah, yeah, you're here.
Speaker 7 (54:20):
That's supposed to you within like five miles five, that's
why you were. I was wondering why he wasn't next
to me when I was interviewing that, and I was like,
I'm harw I forgot about the restraining one, right.
Speaker 2 (54:31):
Everybody asked me so far and again the Inquire had
a big write up about her front and center. That's understood.
Everybody asked me like, well would you think and I
said even better than advertised.
Speaker 7 (54:40):
Oh yeah, and you know, out of the crater.
Speaker 4 (54:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (54:45):
Well it was funny too, because maybe maybe she doesn't
want me to share this, but I seen her standing
there and she hit one or two, and you know,
she she chunked one and she goes to our caddie.
She's like, I just chunked one and like kind of
felt a little uncomfortable, and I go, it's gonna be
tough because you're a beautiful girl, and now people are
thinking you're only in this space really beautiful. But she
plays great off. She does break off her clock back
(55:06):
and you know what, people were yelling at her page,
I'm going to pick my kids up from daycare, come
take a picture with me.
Speaker 2 (55:11):
That just happening. Yep.
Speaker 7 (55:13):
And she goes, sits her club down, comes over, she
takes the photo. She was super cool, like engaging with everybody.
So I think it was cool to just see someone
in that space like a creator thing, but all as
many fans is probably a Ricky Fowler yea. And to
take the time and kind of hang with people, but
then also see her get like a little nervous because
there's ten thousand people yelling, maybe not ten thousand, but
(55:33):
a hundred people yelling my name, and they just saw her.
Speaker 2 (55:37):
And shout out to Claire Hogel. By the way, I'm
team Claire Hogel. I'm team Claire. Yeah, look you know.
And I told her I was watching her just swing
like her swing is so pure and it's just so
smooth and she extends come through, and I told her,
how much you like her? I said, she has the
prettiest swing on on on at that point in time
(55:59):
on the range in there. Yes, prettiest swing out there.
I did make them the odds on favorite and I
needed to revisit that. As far as the handicapper is concerned,
they didn't come in first.
Speaker 6 (56:09):
I don't think they know.
Speaker 2 (56:10):
Yeah, I gotta come back to that. But she was yes,
down to earth everything, very down to earth, very down
to earth. Had some fun, a great time. Of course
that was on a Wednesday, The Creator Classic. And uh,
last thing about page I will say, I think I
caught her on the first Creator Classic. She was damn
good in the microphone. Yeah, they had her on the course.
Speaker 4 (56:29):
Oh yeah, she was like she was like the only
course reporter kind of.
Speaker 6 (56:32):
She was good.
Speaker 2 (56:32):
Yeah, she knew what she's doing.
Speaker 7 (56:34):
Yeah, and you know, she she shared a lot of
this stuff. I think it was whether it was with
Amana Balionez or Kira Kake Dixon, whoever it was. I
kind of asked her about it and she said at first,
like she got negative feedback because she was a beautiful
girl in this space and she maybe dresses a little bit,
you know, promiscus, et cetera, et cetera. And she said,
you know what, like people are gonna hate me regardless.
(56:54):
Let's just leave it to And she said once she
leaned into it, like that's when it started even getting bigger,
so good for her.
Speaker 2 (57:00):
If I was CBS, i'd kick.
Speaker 6 (57:03):
The curb.
Speaker 2 (57:04):
You can't. We just add page spirit. I think we
just add I mean we are in Amanda's layer right
over there as you can see, that's the CBS booth
with the plants and all that. But that's where she's
going to be front and center over the next two
I would imagine.
Speaker 7 (57:19):
If you're listening, yes, we know you are.
Speaker 2 (57:22):
Bundle up.
Speaker 7 (57:23):
Yeah, dress warm unless she gets the space heaters because
we don't.
Speaker 2 (57:27):
All right, Danielle, let's get some final thoughts where we
get out of here again. We got the the leaderboard
up in front of us. I got the odds on
favorite here from DraftKings sports book. Is there a player
that you I asked this question to Harry again. I'm
going to come back to you on this as well.
Is there a player that you were watching over the
first two days or you know you're able to see
what they were able to do yesterday? They were like,
(57:48):
all right, I like where they're at. Mentally, I like
where their game is at. Obviously on the course, they're
putting up some decent numbers. Watch out, they're a threat
this weekend.
Speaker 7 (57:58):
Yes, and no, I feel like I'm just gonna go
with and what I'd like to see is I think Shane,
you know, as Harry said that this it probably feels
a little bit like home with this weather, looking up,
not seeing a peak of color in the sky, just
this gray sky. I think he's going to kind of,
you know, keep the gas pedal down if you keep
playing like he did. I mean, he's up what nine
spots today plus three fifty relatively beautiful scorecard here minus
(58:21):
a little bogie on ten smooth sixty five. I like Shane.
I think I like to see him holding up the
trophy and that would be really cool, really cool.
Speaker 2 (58:30):
Because he's due.
Speaker 7 (58:31):
You know, I feel like he's had how many top
let's let's take a look, like how many top tens,
but he hasn't, you know, just broke through this year yet.
Speaker 4 (58:38):
He hasn't had that win since last year when he
and Rory teamed up in any One.
Speaker 6 (58:43):
Yeah, it does that count as a wind it does?
Speaker 3 (58:45):
You know?
Speaker 4 (58:46):
I guess not the points?
Speaker 2 (58:47):
Yeah, I mean a win to win.
Speaker 7 (58:48):
But yeah, he's had three top tens so far this
year in twenty twenty five. He's been playing well twelve
World Golf rankings. You know, seventeenth on FedEx Cup points.
Let's let's see string.
Speaker 2 (58:59):
That vision on a Sunday him, you know, raising the trophy.
Maybe Kelsey takes the trip back out here because they
had like a little bit of a romance going on
on on Wednesday or Tuesday or whatever it was.
Speaker 7 (59:10):
Wait and you do you know that he dressed up
as Jason Kelsey following.
Speaker 2 (59:15):
Good call by you. I did see that. Nice work. Yeah,
completely forgot about that for that reason alone, I'm taking
Justin Tom.
Speaker 6 (59:21):
I'm with you on that there.
Speaker 2 (59:23):
Let's go and you know what, let's we need a
little bit of red, white and blue if I can. Yeah,
I think what Rose won, Yeah, Justin Rose wanted in
the open. Well who won up? Wilmington won a couple
of years was that can't? Yeah, So I would like
to see a little red white and blue. If that's
the case. We're going with JT.
Speaker 6 (59:41):
I'll go with.
Speaker 4 (59:42):
Jtright, Going with JT.
Speaker 2 (59:44):

Speaker 2 (01:00:16):
He didn't keep everything. It'stop me from getting wet though,
so funny. I brought the rubber ducky. Speaking of I
brought the rubber ducky. All right, I took this one
from my daughter.
Speaker 7 (01:00:32):
Okay, I was gonna say, my daughter.
Speaker 2 (01:00:34):
