Speaker 1 (00:06):
It is the daily ticket for coming to you live
from fitting Live here on a beautiful Friday in the
wonderful city of Philadelphia. My friend the great Sheffield Shuffler
joining us for the next hour up raising.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
See what's good baby?

Speaker 3 (00:22):
How you doing? You're happy to be here, beautiful day Friday, Saturday, Sunday,
Phillies mets. I'm excited. It's gonna determine first place for
the NL East.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Let's do it. Let's do it. What are you wearing?

Speaker 3 (00:33):
It's a hat, so just a regular normal sized hat
by knogging Box. It's a regular normal size hat for
my big head. I'm sure you've seen Gilly wear. Philly's
got the one with the eagles flow to whistle, So
they reached out to me.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
They sent me one.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
They're not officially licensed with MLB yet, so that's why,
just says Philly.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Hey, we'll wear it so cool? God help? Who sits
behind me? Is how hot? Are you? No? It's actually
not bad.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
It's like oh okay, okay, yeah, they've worked through it.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
And then how did they get that to you? Big box?
Big box?

Speaker 3 (01:03):
Yeah, big old box that they send with knocking boss on.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
It are our president and uh he does it all.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Most of the great podcast Swinging and ding At Moose.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
He actually has one with the swinging and ding at logo,
which is hysterical. With all love and respect, I feel
like that is a hat that you would wear. I
feel like that's a hat that I would wear him.
I could not believe my own eyes when I saw
Jeff Moore Moose with one of those hats on. Nice
work by you guys. Excellence.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
So in a couple of places you can get away
with wearing this brace you know, same thing with the overalls. Yeah, yep,
it's it's here. You're not wearing this our wedding funeral.
It's got to just be here. And Chef made a
huge name for himself last year. I mean he's always
done it on the timeline and everything.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
But I remember last year you, Tanka and Chase were
running around, weren't you, guys, Yes.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Yeah, yeah, with all the Chef stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
That's we had a Jeff Hoffman Stubbs schwarbering for him.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Hysterical.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Just supporting the boys, that's what it's all about, man,
Support the boys, the boys of Philadelphia. We got a
first place ball club. We're acting up having some fun
here at Expinity Live. Now, we were talking before the
show here before the hit, and I was telling Chef
about this idea I had. It's nothing that like has
never been done before as usual, but in the content space,
it's always about you know, snapping the fingers on the

(02:21):
on the moment at at that present time, people's instant
reactions like authentic. That's what it's about, right. So I
had this awesome camera, this old school camera. It's very television,
old school asque. I use it at my house. It's
got an unbelievable tripod. It's real, like I took this
thing on a flight with me man and it was.
It's heavy, very durable. So what I was going to
do was set it up. I had this vision of

(02:43):
like all these Phillies fans going over in the corner,
walking over here, getting ready for Citizens Bank Park, and
of course going into the game. I had to sign
print it out presented by tickpic named the one met
player that gets your blood boiling, and then quotation marks
parentheses excuse me to be exact past or present. And

(03:05):
I was gonna do that, and I bailed on it
because of the hooligans.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Yes, yeah, these soccer player fans, they're nuts.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Yeah, but I think I should have done it. No
matter what, we can still do it. I have my cameras,
all right, we can still do it. Is there a
met player that boils your blood, whether it's past.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
A present, it's I mean, it's recency. It's gotta be
Juan Soto. I think he's an attention uh you can't
say a W word, attention seeking kind of guy, crybaby whatever.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
I guess.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
He just kind of bothers me a little bit, honestly,
brace I don't hate players and teams as much as
a lot of other people understood. I I just more
so rude for my team. There's not so much hate
because I love the game of baseball and I appreciate
players and what they do. So I really I don't
have too much hate in my heart for baseball players.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
You know who it is for me right now, present day?
Brandon Nemo, Nemo, Nemo, whatever his name is. He irks me, powers,
he irks me.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Jeff McNeil. Then I'll give you Josh Jeff McNeil. He's
a little squirrely. Look, yeah, one of those guys as well.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
And then if we could go old school, there was
nobody that ruffled the feathers like Jose Race Jose, Jose, Jose,
Jose Jose. Yeah, No, one ruffled the feathers like that.
Dude would get up there and he would do the
dancing and then you know, look, they had a little
bit of a run. They were a good team. Uh,
but they did have that colossal collapse in O seven

(04:36):
of course was it seven or O eight?

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Not to bring up bad men, Yeah, but let's let's
make Powers feel better. Who's someone that you appreciate. David Right,
David Right.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
You know that dude has done it right from the beginning,
no pun intended, and just has just look to do
it in that city and to play as well as
he did. He delivered, and he's just he's off the radar.
He seems like a normal dude.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
He's got he's got it like a Jeter vibe to him. Yeah,
the Captain minus the rings.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
Yeah, Powers, I'd say Edwin Diaz. I think Edwin Diaz
really brought a lot of electricity to the closure role.
Giving a Timmy trumpets, that is something that baseball needs.
They shouldn't cut the commercial when they bring him in.
They should follow him from the bullpen all the way

(05:27):
out to the field, the lights go off. It's electric
and it's exciting. That's what gets people involved in the game.
So Edwin Diaz, look.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
At this picture of you right now. It's just hysterical.
I love it. We are broadcasting live. Hey.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
Uh, since we are down here, we got some great
presenting sponsors. I've already been plugging. Of course, Tickpic, the
official fan experience partner of the Philadelphia Eagles football season.
Around the corner here, I know ticpic dot com. Of
course where SPF. You gotta stay protected, people wear SPF.
Check him out online at where spf dot com. It's
justin Thomas's from the PGA tour, his own brand, Gerhart.

(06:00):
So we've just partnered up with and did some unbelievable
things last week, and we got some huge future items
coming our way, especially with that brand new showroom up
there in King of Prussia. If I could, though, I
want to throw a quick plug to define friends over
at Hanks.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
There's been a lot of Hanks beverages around the iHeartRadio
offices and everyone that I have tried no bs is
so fricking tasty. Look, I've had the Hanks roup here.
It's a Philly classic. Yeah, of course. But here's the deal.
New Hanks zero Soda. It gives you that soda flavor
you love with zero sugar, zero artificial ingredients.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
I'm telling you right now, give it a shot.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
Perfect for the shore, perfect for your favorite HOGI perfect
the mix into an adult beverage. You just got to do, you,
That's all there is to it, all right, check out
the New Hanks zero Soda.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
Check them out at Hanks Beverages dot com.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
And you know where Hanks is available at your local bodega's.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Your corner stores. Wah, while I was all across the region.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
Just check out the Hanks and make sure you give
that New Hanks zero soda a s I'm a fan
of the bubblies. I'm a fan of the the you know,
like the zero cow stuff.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
So like when I had this last week or two
weeks ago.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
Tremendous, two big boys over here, someone that can appreciate locale,
no sugar, baby, we don't want diabetes in our forties
and braves are trying to avoid.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Definitely not all right, chef, let's talk a little baseball.
What do you say here?

Speaker 1 (07:22):
You know it's surprising somewhat that these two teams are
in first place, and not so much that part right
that they're in first place. You know what is surprising
the fact that the Atlanta Braves are just not existing.
They have nothing to say about it. They are, but
they helped the Phillies.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
They swept the Mets, which was huge, and I also
want to see this.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
I agree.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
I think the Braves are puddling a little bit. You know,
but when they won the World Series, they went forty
four and forty four before the All Star break get
and they won without Ronald Acunya Junior.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
So don't count off the brains.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
They have so much talents that on the on paper,
they could be a spoiler.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
They might not make it.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
They could be a spoil that could be coming very big,
just like they're doing right now. They knocked down the Mets,
they swept them, So keep an eye on the Braves.
Forty four and forty four the same year they won
the World Series, so we'll see.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Thirty four and thirty nine. Right now.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
They just sweep the Mets, so that's something they could
possibly build off of.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
Right there.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
I feel like people have been begging for the Braves
to do something right, leg Oh, watch out. Now is
the time for the Braves and they just haven't been
able to hit the gas pedal. But to your point,
a lot of baseball left there is we're not even
at the All Star break yet, not even.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
At the All Star break.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
How about your Cubbies forty five and twenty nine on
top of the Central How surprised.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
Are you there?

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Ah, very surprised, mostly from the bullpen. Cubs have one
of the best bullpens in baseball. Drew Pomerantz who was
a starter out of nowhere, Genesis Cabrera. I mean these
guys that Daniel Palencia who throws one hundred and two heat.
Very exciting from the Cubs, especially a Cubs team that
we didn't expect their bullpen to be so good. Top

(08:55):
tier in baseball. And the thing with the Cubs is
they can score every single inning. They could be down
by three in the seventh, this game is not over.
They score PCA if the if the season ended today,
brace Pekrow Armstrong's your NL MVP.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
I don't know if I agree with that, but it's hard.
He's having a great season. You're right about that, and
I love the three initial the Pcaca. Yeah, no, it's
it's fun. Look, I had the Cupies winning that central.
I was just hopeful, to be honest with you, more
than anything that the Cubs would do it get a
little bored of the Cardinals and you know the Brew
crew like give me some new blood there. So spulling

(09:30):
for the Cubs. And of course I'm a big Daily
Cruise or O'Neil Cruz fan, so either one of those
two teams between the Reds and the Pirates would have
been fun as well.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
But Cubs absolutely the lovable losers.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
And I also want to say this, and I also
want to say this, chef Mike Powers is my.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
Right hand man. Love. This dude does an unbelievable job
for Edible.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
How about this has us going out there to Chicago
possibly checking off checking off a bucket list item for
the end of the month. We're gonna go end of July,
we're gonna go out for the National Show. Of course,
the Philly Show here locally, but the National Show, the
National card Show. Stephanie Smalls is gonna be out there.
I was talking to her.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
The other day, so she'll be stopping by.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
But the Cubs and the Orioles are playing three day
games on Friday, Saturday, Sunday. We are making one of
them one way or another. I don't care if it's
the Sunday and we fly home Sunday night. I don't
care if we work a double Friday Sunday. Whatever it
is we have to make. It's a bucket list item.
Brigley's a bucket list item for me.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
I mean, I lived on the corner of Sheffield in Addison,
and it's hard to explain to people who haven't been
there how special it is. There's a kid that I
follow and he was just there this weekend and he
messaged me and said, I understand now why people say
it's the heaven of baseball. So one of the oldest
stadiums in baseball, very specially in the middle of a neighborhood.
You've got Lake Shore Drive, you got a lake with

(10:52):
the skyscrapers right behind it. It's a beautiful city for
three to four months out of the year, and I
love it.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
I miss it a little bit. I love my new home,
but I do love Chicago.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
Yeah, I've been to Chicago before, but did we did
not go to a game at regular I think the
Boys went a little earlier than me the day before,
and they ended up going for a.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Billy Joel concert, believe it or not, which is fun,
they said, But I.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
Want to if I'm going to regular, I gonna catch
the Cups. I grew up on the Cups. I grew
up on the Cubs, the Mets, the Braves, the Phillies,
the Yankees. When I lived in Wilmington, North Carolina. This
is way back in the day, way back in the
early eighties. I was able to get all five of
those teams on television. It was UPN nine for the Mets.

(11:37):
It was w W WGN for the Cubs. It was
a TBS for the Braves, w PI X I believe
for the Yankees. And I'm talking about old school announcers.
I fell in love with baseball. I wanted to be
a play by play call announcer because of those games,
and the Cubs were always just a fun team to

(11:57):
watch with of course the great Hairy ca.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
There's still time, brace you can still become an announcer.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
I believe in you.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
Oh, that's the reason there are so many Cubs fans
and Braves fans around the country because they were nationally
televised on WGN on TBS. So that's why when we
came here for the Cubs Philly series are so many
Cubs fans because they were nashally broadcast all throughout the
nineties with the Braves as well.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
So very cool to see that. All right, chef, catch
any NBA Finals action.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
I don't, dude, I'm I'm baseball and football. I'm locked
into baseball. There's way too many games. I gotta watch baseball.
You're not worried about basketball, hockey? Apologies, NBA Finals. We
got a game seven, I heard, Will you even watch it?
I'm saying you give it a shot. I haven't watched
one minute of the NBA flows, I'll be honest.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
So but no, hang on, you got a game seven
Sunday night. Yeah, let's just say Sunday night baseball. Is
it the Mets in Phillies?

Speaker 3 (12:48):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (12:48):
It is? Okay, Well that's a bad question.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
All right, Well we'll play well, pretend it was all
right if it wasn't say it was the Rangers versus
the Detroit Tigers.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
Still a pretty good game there.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
Would you at least tune in for the fact that
it's a game seven for NBA Finals?

Speaker 2 (13:07):
I probably not.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
Wow, these those two teams really don't do anything for me.
I just try and stay true, dude, Like my passion
is baseball, and I love football, and I don't really
care that much about basketball. So there's just too much
baseball to watch for me personally.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
It's so true because look, if you take your head
out the game for like three if you go on
vacation for three days and you don't pay attention to anything,
you unplug so much changes in baseball.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
Yeah, from injuries to change to the pitching staff.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
To of course, and especially from the fantasy perspective, who's
going to be playing multiple games in that next week.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
There's a lot to chew when it comes to the
world baseball.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
Speaking of those Cubs, they're in action day game taking
on the Mariners there. They're trailing six to four currently
on the live line right now. Matthew Boyd in there
for the Cubs plus two eighty three for the Cubbies
to come back and win that game again. Big one
tonight Mets in Phillies Game one. I've been saying six
forty five.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
Shame on me.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
It's a seven fifteen first pitch, seven fifth wheels up
at seven fifteen.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
Seven to fifteen first pitch wheels are up.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
Yes, money coming in on the Mets right now because
Zach Wheeler is now down to minus one ninety nine.
So here's the deal. The Mets have now lost six straight.
They're leaking oil officially.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
But wasn't it two weeks ago that could have said
the same thing about the Phillies. Phillies were one and
nine a few weeks ago. Yes, they won one out
of ten.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
Games, five straight losses, and they flipped it on their
heads and out of their last ten.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Yeah, five straight losses. Ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (14:38):
So here we are right now, Wheeler on the mount,
going up against Blake Tidwell, who's making his.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
Second eight football name.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
By the way, Blake Tidwell, Blade Tidwell, Blade.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
Sorry, haven't that a great name? Yeah? I need my
my reader, I need my cheeters, my readers, Blade, bring
me the reader football name. Imagine a linebacker Blade Tidwell.
So this is what's his second career start? You want
to act?

Speaker 3 (15:02):
They got crushed against the Cardinals. Nine hits, six earned runs,
I believe, in three and two third innings.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
But you're talking about this spot. You know what type
of juice is going to be in that building time.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
Oh dude, That's why I'm so excited, because the Phillies
are catching the Mets at a perfect time. They're down six,
they can't even go home yet, Phillies are hot. They
got one of the best pitchers on the Planets in
Zach Wheeler. Right now, it's they have the chance to
rewrite the story right because the Mets have owned the
Phillies recently, last fifteen games, sixteen games they faced each other.

(15:36):
They just got swept earlier this season, so they have
a chance to take the division, rewrite this story and all,
and do it all without Bryce Harper. And there's a
lot of players that have been stepping up brace that
I'm very proud of that I've rowed with, one being
Alec Bohm who has stepped up over the last fifteen
Over the last thirty games, he has the highest average
and the highest OPS on the team in that time

(15:57):
period fifteen games and thirty games. Very proud of all
boom and how he stepped up in this lineup without
Bryce Harper.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
How about this guy walking here with what six cups
he left the field with trying to get those are
souvenir Cups.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
He's taking them home. But the only issue is when
you roll with those out, you're like, yeah, loude this guy.
This guy said six cocktails already.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
Yeah yeah, I wasn't expecting the two pm Big Time
soccer match happening at Lincoln Financial Field. Shame on me,
back job by me for not getting the overlay of
the LA soccer guy. I am a soccer guy, but
I did not pay attention one bit to anything taking
place on this Friday.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
This place is rock. Is there anything you're not a
fan of? What about hockey? Did you watch any of
the hockey? Oh?

Speaker 1 (16:37):
Man? Those Stanley Cup playoffs were great? I think the
finals were awesome. Sub Bran, how you doing, man, Good
to see it, bro, great man great, Hey, keep kicking butt,
let's go, let's go. He is a training room guy
for the Philadelphia Union.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
It's been there forever. Oh ok, yeah, good dude, really
good dude. He big soccer guy. Yeah yeah, di di
id love. The Philadelphia Union will be supporting that team.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
Was really against them removing the head coach, Jim Curtin.
But hey man, they've been able to keep it going
and and then some like they're having some really great
success right here. Again, it's June. That season goes on forever,
so keep keep it going. But it's been a lot of.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
Fun to watch this season, that's for sure, all right.
Because expectations.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
Man, when you when you load his expectations and then
all of a sudden you're playing at that level, it
just makes something so much more fun versus like, like
I said, they had that coach forever and they were
having the same expectations, Like they got to compete for
a championship, and it just never got there. Uh. They
ended up getting to the finals and ended up losing

(17:43):
a game that they probably should have won.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
But what are you gonna do? It is what it is.
His town doesn't keep around head coaches if you're not producing. Well,
that's true.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
Even if you are, a super Bowl could be gone
two years later. Hey, sucky p shut up baby, that's
right man.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
All right, we're gonna keep it moving here.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
I got the great Sheffield Shuffler hanging out with us
for the full hour. We got you till five o'clock.
Sam Oustree back at the studio. We're talking a little
bit of everything. We're in the sports cantel right now.
I also want to ask you, this big storm rolled
through yesterday.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
Did you see it? I was prepared.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
I brought in the grill, brought in the water table,
my daughter's water table, the slides, everything, the chairs.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
Nothing did it. It was windy for like maybe a
minute and a half, really windy, and that was it.
We got crushed.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
Really the Kancha, Hocken and Plymouth meeting like things are down,
people are without power.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
God bless our own Mark Henry Junior, who is like.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
Literally DM and the folks over at Peaco going like,
if you don't get me my power, I'm going to
a fund. You down, like yo, dude, Like it happens,
It happens. But I do want to say this. I'm
just curious. Am I out of my mind? Like, yeah,
we knew that. But as I was driving home last night,

(18:58):
that vibe, that storm, it looked different, like the clouds underneath.
I thought for sure like there was going to be
a gigantic And there is no joke, I'm not joking here.
I thought for sure like a gigantic tornado was coming
to suck up all the concho hockey.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
Yeah, that storm looked different to me.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
I don't know if I was on something last night
that maybe I didn't know I partake then. But all
I know is I was driving home across the bridge
and I'm like, let's get over this bridge because I thought,
like the wind underneath it can pick me up. Yeah
like that, and I'm like, get me off this bridge race.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
I don't know if you know.

Speaker 3 (19:28):
I am a tornado survivor. I survived a tornado. I
rolled through our apartment about four years ago back in Illinois.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Are you got pictures?

Speaker 3 (19:36):
And having car destroyed two weeks before I was supposed
to move to Philly. Tornado runs right through our apartment building,
survived thirty yards away and came right.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
Through our apartment building. Are you kidding me?

Speaker 3 (19:47):
Yep, Naperville, Illinois. Me and my wife and my dog
hide in our bathroom. Everything you helped help the apartment combats.

Speaker 2 (19:55):
Don't and then the other places to get wrecked.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
Oh yeah, torn off The pictures have to this, everything destroyed,
everything was sucked in.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
You're like, you're like, oh, and then a big pop.
That's gonna be the scariest thing ever. It was very scary.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
I have a little psc. That's why when we get intense weather,
I do.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
Get a little worried. It's a little scary. I'm telling you.
Last night to hit me. I was driving home.

Speaker 1 (20:16):
I'm like, I'm literally called my wife and I'm like,
whatever you do, just get away from the windows.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
And then she was She's like this is crazy. I'm
like yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
And then driving around today, trees, power lines like I've
never seen before.
