(00:27):
And it is a beautiful afternoon intothe Delaware Valley on this thirsty Thursday edition
of The Daily Ticket. Hello everybody, Sean Brace, John Jansen, ready
to go. We got ourselves todaynight doubleheader. Of course tonight we'll be
live at Magazine the Waterfront from eightto ten pm, probably longer than that
for our third and final installment withMiller Lite with our watch parties and Thursday

(00:51):
Night Football actually got a good onetonight. I think that's what you say
now, I hope. But let'sjust be honest about what entertainment means to
each of us as we came acrossthis with the last time we did it.
Just for the record's sake, let'sjust put this out here. I'm

(01:14):
two and oh wagering on our watchparties. Two and oh. So that's
where I want to start with youright from the jump, saying that I
feel pretty good about this game tonight. I do. So you're betting Dallas
then didn't say that? Okay, there's other ways you can wager, all
right, DraftKings, there's a tonof options. You should check them out.
Be sure to use Brace as promocoo. Let them know you're listening

(01:36):
to us right here in the Gambler. All right, y'll start an account
one more time. I'll start anaccount for you. Thanks. See,
I'll see what's up about DraftKings.Never been before, if you ask my
wife, I don't wager all thatmuch. So maybe you know you might
be able to believe that. Allright, Look, we got a lot
to get to. We got ThursdayNight football, of course, number one,
first and foremost Cowboys Seahawks nine pointspread, DraftKings forty seven and a

(01:57):
half, down a down to halfa tick eight last night money line.
Feeling froggy, You want to takethe Seahawks at plus three fifty nobody's hating
you, minus four fifty five forthe Cowboys. Come on, take that
somewhere else. We'll go over allthe props. We'll give you everything that
you need to know to cash inon tonight's Thursday night football game. Of
course, all eyes at you knowhow tough this ticket is to get.

(02:21):
John Jans, you got a ticketto the game on Sunday. No,
I don't think I'm gonna be ableto No, it's a tough ticket.
Last Sunday was a tough ticket againstBuffalo. I'm told that this is ten
times harder, rightfully, So thisis the MC Championship game rematch that everybody
was, everybody circled. Although Iloved the Buffalo game. Of course,
the Cowboys game was big. KentCity was on the road, so it

(02:43):
doesn't really count. But I'm talkingabout home games, and correct me if
I'm wrong. Eagles have one morehome game after this on Christmas against the
Giants. That's it. Who elsedid they play? They got a road
they go to Seattle, Go toSeattle, go to Dallas, Giants at
home, Giants on the road,or another game in the Cardinals. Is
the Cardinals on the road. No, there's a there's a home game in

(03:04):
there on New Year's Eve. Whois it? I don't know, you
should know it. I know it'sSeattle, Dallas Cardinals, Cardinals. All
right, I said the Cardinals, and then you did. I didn't say
no to that. I just saidyou should know. You weren't paying attention.
Sorry. So that's on New Year'sEve, right before the last Giants
game, right correct? Okay, sandwiched in between the two Giants games.

(03:27):
So of course these games are gettingtougher and tougher. But this is definitely
the biggest one as far as theMarquee matchup is concerned. I have a
feeling that every game from here onout is going to be pretty significant.
I think, of course, ifthey win this game on Sunday, those
Giants games we can go oh humabout. But if they don't come away
with this victory, everything gets rampedup a little bit more and we'll get

(03:51):
we'll come back to that conversation alittle bit later as well, as I
said, we'll dive deeper into allthings. NFL Week thirteen had my set
joint hit. I want to goover my fantasy football lineup and get a
grade from you. I tried toget Roy on the show today, he's
tied up. I want to geta grade from you for my fantasy team.
And I also have a little headto head matchup me and you four

(04:12):
of five. I want you topick four players. We'll go over to
details, but me and you headshead to head for a Sammy sam on
an orange Gatorade and we'll see who'swho picks the better team. Here.
We'll go a little snake draft allthat. But I got my idea for
some fantasy I mean, I'm sucha great fantasy player. I have zero

(04:33):
of my four teams going into theplayoffs. I normally wouldn't want to get
right into this, but just checkthis out. Jans and I are not
big money league. We started outsix and two in the world was shining
the world, the sun was shiningbright. The world seemed like it was
our oyster. We were just ontop. Oh, we just so happen
to have a few. Houston Texanswas like the hottest dollar in the NFL.

(04:57):
We've lost four straight. We're nowsix and six. We're five hundred
and this week. Listen to thisstarting lineup. Half our team is on
the bye. There's six teams onthe by this week. Half our team
is on the bye. There's sixteams on the by. I believe there's
six. It's week thirteen. Unbelievable. There are six teams. Bill's Bears,
Raiders, Vikings, Giants, andrape Oh Ravens. C J.

(05:20):
Stroud starting quarterback. It's pretty good, good, really good start. Schuba
Hubbard, he gets worked, he'sease. I think starting now. Yeah,
yeah, we're good. I wasprojected to score eleven point three.
I'll take that. This is wherewe go south. Cream Hunt, who
is behind thrown Ford and really notgetting ti many points. I had two

(05:41):
point two last week. All right, we bring it back up. We're
going Tank Dell. There's the stacker, there's the stack them tag Dell has
been great electric wide receiver, downfieldthreat. I'm liking this. Those fantasy
gurus will tell you you can't winunless you stack. Well, there's our
stack for the last four weeks andwe haven't won a day. That's technically

(06:02):
a stack. Stack is I thinkthree or more plays. I think it
technically, So we're just what we'redoing is just want to be technical.
All Right, we're going you're ready. Josh Downs, who's actually projected for
eleven point five last week nine points. He drops. He was a solid

(06:25):
pickup that was at Tennessee. Yeahagain it's Josh Jones. Jonathan Mingo,
come on down, picked up offthe scrap heat this afternoon. Projected nine
point one last week ten points. How about this guy, our starting tight
end he was, He was astarting tight end earlier this year. I

(06:46):
think I pulled him just from thestandpoint of the RAMS lineup. Tyler Higbee,
who went off last week nineteen pointnine, had two touchdowns. He
had zero heading into it. Essentially, I had him in my line before.
We have to start him here,Pooka, come and talk to me,
I guess. I mean Pooka hasbeen a you know, he's been

(07:09):
a slately though. Has he beensix points sixteen six point seven last week?
That's great? Have to play. We're going with the Chargers defense because
of New England just picked them upthis morning. And Dicker, the kicker,
Cameron Dicker eight point four projected. So we're at one oh nine and
we are going up against a dudeby the day of a team Peterson,

(07:30):
and he is projected to score morethan us. Yeah, okay, oh
well here's something to before. He'sgot Dak Prescott tonight. Oh great,
there's no way we're running now.Oh my god, he's got two soon,
he's got Jake Ferguson, He's gotDak. Does he have any Seattle?
And that's it. So we're pullinga hell tonight for Seattle. I
mean, because we're missing we wouldhave Keaton Mitchell in the lineup. Yeah,

(07:54):
we would have his e Flowers inthe line up. Say Flowers a
big deal? Say Flowers a bigdeal. Yeah, So we're we're missing
some guys here. That is correct. That's not good. No, and
h Diggs digs is. The moralof our story is we had Nick Chubb,
we had we had three players down, Mark uh, Mark Andrews out.

(08:18):
Oh, that's right. So wehad Mark Andrews, Nick Chubb.
When there's a third we had lostthree guys. Nobody cares about a fantasy
team. Maybe there's a big moneyfirst time in this league. We thought
that we could team up together andbe Johnny and Sean smart. But so
it's official. By the way,we have a flex on Monday night football
for the first time ever. TheSeattle game got flexed. Yes, it
did nice. I like that.I like the standalone games. See if

(08:41):
we can get something going for thatMonday night football game. All right,
let's have some fun here, arewe? Yeah? I thought we were
getting serious. Oh we're gonna havesome fun. Okay, So I think
it's important as we look. I'ma father in that change is a lot,
marriage changes a lot. Being afather takes it up to a whole

(09:05):
other level because you literally cannot getbogged down on any of the nonsense,
like there's nothing that bothers me thesethese days, and so like you know.
I used to get so heated.I'd be like, I, what
was that one Twitter fight the guywent like, drove to the California city
and couch Temmacula or whatever it was. That's where my brain was, Like

(09:26):
you said that, what you know? And you just don't get bogged down
by the little things anymore. Ialso think that as we grow as individuals,
just forget about it. Forgetting aboutit we could No, I don't
know who gains. Does society grow? Do we grow as individuals if you
forget about it? No? Ithink there's or you can just think about

(09:48):
it every night and go through allof your regrets every single night. You
could. You could a lot ofpeople. Yeah, yeah, no,
nothing like that. Have you everhad that happen where every single regrets to
splashes four your eyes and like,oh wow, that's normally after a bender
with the anxiety times eleven? OhI did that wrong? Oh remember when
I did that wrong? Also twentyyears ago? Yeah, you suck so

(10:13):
very relatable. I would like totake us back in time and uh a
little history lesson. Well, sinceit is a throwback Thursday hashtag TBT,
I thought it was important to togo back in time, and and it
was all brought up with the wholeDeshaun Jackson coming back for the retirement ceremony,

(10:33):
Right, big deal. The Eaglesput out a seven minute video last
night. Man, you gotta gowatch that. You want to take it?
For the first two minutes of itwere just punt returns. First five
minutes were oh was it more thanthat? I turned it off after like
three or four minutes. How'd youstop that short? I don't know?
That was incredible content. My attentionspan isn't very high, all right,

(10:54):
brace. I mean, who hasthe guy who sits down and watch movies?
But when I'm consuming online media content, I'm like YouTube shorts and I'm
like, I'm fifty to sixty secondsand I'm out, I'm on seven minutes.
Man, all right, that's amini series for me. So Deshaun
Jackson get in his his You know, he's officially retiring ou as Jersey's jerseys
in retirement, he's officially retiring asa Philadelphia Eagle, and and he's gonna

(11:16):
be sent off the right way.And man, you think about the glory
days when he was here. Hewas one hell of a deep threat,
one of the best deep threats thatI've ever seen. Not the best.
I saw somebody say that on television. Who's the best deep threat in your
mind ever? Randy Moss, Ithink it's pretty easy. Where does d
jack rank on that list? It'sit would be a good, pretty high.

(11:37):
It would be pretty high because that'swhat he did. Yes, I
remember a year in and year outhaving conversations on the radio about how he
was one dimensional, he can knockthe top off, and then when he
was let go, it was like, that's what we need. We need
a receiver that can take the takethe deep, safety deep and you know,
open things up underneath. And it'slike, yeah, it just it
was tough. Deshaun Jackson was agreat wide receiver. He was awesome,

(12:00):
he was energy. But was hethe perfect guy? Was he a guy
that was you know, like he'sAJ Brown for a lack of a better
example. AJ Brown. I'd takehim ten out of ten signs over Jashawn
Jackson just because he can do alittle bit more. But also Deshaun Jackson
was the almost one of the onlyreasons why they got to the NFC Championship

(12:20):
game against the Cardinals. That's allthat offense had McNabb couldn't run that much
anymore. I mean, he couldrun a little bit, but it was
really McNabb's arm. You can stillthrow eighty yards and let's give him the
fastest receiver in the league and turnsout because I remember what they connected on
the most deep balls that year oflike fifty plus yards something like that,
and DeShawn Jackson had a crazy numberof deep passes. I mean the other

(12:41):
wide receivers that year were like HankBasket, Kevin Curtis, Jason von and
Greg Lewis, Kevin Curtis, whoBren J. Smith and Reggie Brown,
you know, not very good?Brown will college he come from Georgia.
Yep. Well I remember it becausethere's a there's a very famous hit that
happened. He took a vicious hitin college, did he? Yes?

(13:01):
And it was on YouTube on howabout that? All right? So I
want to know what I watched? This b is a throwback Thursday edition.
Oh my god, that's scared thehell and I want to go back in
time. All right, we aregoing back in time. Two thousand and
fourteen. John Jansen, what wasthat sound? That was a dream effect?

(13:26):
That was like we're not heading backin time. Here you go.
That's that scared the absolute hell outof me. Sound effects bro, get
cut up, all right, Ohmy gosh, so we're going back in
time here, get caught up.You haven't told me anything of what we're
doing. Chance in dramatic reading today. Here it is two thousand and fourteen,

(13:46):
March twenty eight. Are you readingthis whole thing? And here's where
I like this is. There's somany things that I want to get to
with this because I want to bringeverybody up to speed where I was doing
it this time. So this wasa really good spot. I was in
a good spot with my co hostat the time. We were doing really
well. And because we were doingreally well, there was times where the

(14:07):
big guy, Mike Miss would takeoff and he had confidence that you know,
yes, the show would turn intoan s show, but at least
the ratings want to be that muchof a drop off if he took a
day off. The dude never tooka day off. That guy worked every
single I love me. You're notnaming him like miss? Yeah, I
did, Okay, I thought heweren't naming him. He just said co

(14:28):
host and dude, like well,John marsh was my co host. Yeah,
okay, all right, so heworks with another radio station. I
was trying not to mention it.I think it's okay, Oh yeah it
is, but I don't know whatare you going to do to me?
Well, we're not co hosting together, You're just I'm just gonna be like
he who must not be named Baltimore. Are you on the air the same
time that I will be on atanother station? Yeah? I probably won't,

(14:50):
Okay, So all right, soI filled in. We filled in
that day, and of course it'sMarch and not much happening, and of
course this is right around what thedraft is there. I know this was
a big talking point because Deshaun Jacksonwas dealing with that contract situation and I
think he was open to being traded. He needn't get traded. So everything

(15:13):
was just building up, building up, and then all of a sudden,
John and I are filling in andit happens at four oh five pm the
article this Pulitzer Prize piece by oneElliott shore Parks for NJ dot com was
released, and I just remember, this is this is part of like the

(15:35):
growth of for for me, becauseI want to be upfront and say,
in my naive days, I didnot think that somebody could put a piece
out pushed by a team, havinga team statement in it, and this
not be true. This went downfor some hey, from day one,

(15:56):
from minute one, they sniffed itout and they were like, dude,
that that was complete bs pushed bythe team x y z me. I
actually was on the air a littlebit of sensationalism, but at the same
time floored by this report, flooredby everything. D jack and oh,
by the way, we're in thebig chair. Well, everybody, I
remember everybody was talking about it.I mean, I mean Twitter was obviously

(16:18):
around at the time, so itwas everywhere. It was the story of
the Yeah, of course it was. You got de Sean Jackson, who
everybody knows about and an ex whodoesn't remember. He didn't use right,
he didn't use K the letter K. Wasn't it the letter K in his
tweets? Because right? Was itcrips? It's crips, that's what the
K. No, the cryps isc's. He didn't use a letter in

(16:41):
his tweets and this was referenced init because of a tie to a gang.
Anyways, let's have a read thoughwhat he sounds more like a Reddit
blog than tell me about Well, this was j dot com from Eliot shot
Parks and aj Perez who apparently mighthave had something more to do with this,
and I'll I don't know who thehell aj Perez did you? No,

(17:03):
no, neither of So anyways,we know Elliott, though, has
made a name for himself and apparentlywon't talk about this, which is interesting
because I think that this was apiece. This was the biggest piece he's
ever put out, you know, besides the other disinformation that he's been doing
his whole career. This was thebiggest piece that he's ever been associated with.
Let's just be honest about it.So anyways, title four h five

(17:26):
PM. This comes out to ShawnJackson's gang connections troubling to the Eagles Philadelphia
over the past several weeks. Musicthe Philadelphia Eagles roportly had shopped wide receiver
to Sean Jackson. On its face, the decision to trade one of the

(17:48):
NFL's most talented players seem curious. At twenty seven, Jackson is coming off
of one of the best seasons ofhis career. Eighty two catches, one
dimensional brace, I got you eightytwo catches for over thirteen hundred yards and
nine touchdowns. Plus he's a playmakerwho could have been expected to thrive for
seasons to come in head coach ChipKelly's fast paced offense. Yet the eagles

(18:12):
apparent decision the jettison Jackson likely hadlittle to do with this performance on the
field or a big money contract thatwas slightly squeezing the team the team's salary
cap. Rather, sources close toJackson and within the Eagles organization say,
originally was Jackson's off field behavior thatconcerned the front office. A bad attitude,

(18:33):
ooh, don't you hate that? When no star NFL players have a
got any more dramatic? Here anymore dramatic. A bad attitude, an
inconsistent work ethic, missed meetings, and a lack of chemistry with head coach
Chip Kelly were the original reasons forhis fall from Grace, sources Total dot
Com. And when the Eagles lookedmore deeply into why Jackson was missing meetings

(18:56):
listen to this, they found hisfriends were becoming a more powerful and negative
influence in his life. And thensuddenly the Eagles had even more serious concerns
when they were revealed by NJ dotCom Jackson's continued association with repute Los Angeles

(19:18):
street gang members who have been connectedto two homicides since twenty ten. Oh,
this is good, This is realgood, because then they tie in.
Then Elliott ties in. Yeah,We're just gonna say me, come
on, Elliott, this is yourpiece. Ever since New England Patriots tight
end Aaron Hernandez was arrested and chargedwith first degree murder last summer, you

(19:41):
gotta like that. Let's combine thatand you know what OJ too, Let's
throw OJ in this report as well. Ever since yeah, ever since New
England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez wasarrested in charge with first degree murder last
summer, NFL franchises have been reevaluatinghow closely they needed to watch their players
away from the field, and whatEagles executives saw in Jackson, a six

(20:04):
year veteran, was apparently a potentialblight on the brand and a bad influence
in the locker room. Before Jacksonwas released, a source within the Eagles
organization who requested in a minity excuseme put in they are concerned about having
him around the younger players. Thefirst signs that's a heck of a bold

(20:27):
title. DeShawn Jackson was nowhere nearthe scene of the crime. On December
to twenty ninth, twenty ten, fourteen year old to Bury Watson flashed the
rival gang sign the two men ashe rode his bicycle through South LA.
The men, reportedly members of theCryps, responded to the team's provocative gesture
by shooting him multiple times. Pleasesaid. Paramedics pronounced Watson dead at the

(20:48):
scene. Quote DeShawn Jackson was notpart of the case. Jane Robinson,
a spokesman for the LA District AttorneyOffice, told NJ dot com he was
not charged defend He was not acharge defendant. He was not a witness
close quote. Jackson was however, associated with Tehran Shakur, one of the

(21:11):
two men charged with the murder alongwith co defendant Marquise Bean's. SHAKURR is
a member of the Crips. Inaddition, Shakir, known as Tehran,
is a rapper who recorded for JackpotRecords. Jackpot Records there we go a
label owned by Jackson with two c's. By the way, that's right.

(21:33):
The two were close enough that theyappear together frequently in photographs, including pictures
posted by Jackson to Instagram while Shakiersat in jail a waiting trial for the
teens execution. The caption question markfree Trezi, hashtag real one, hashtag
jackpot. All the Instagram photos thatoriginally appeared in this story were removed from

(21:56):
social media site on Saturday. Ohmy goodness, this is so good.
Acting on unspecified information that Jackson mighthave knowledge of Secures activities on the night
of Watson's murder, LAPD detective Aircross And said he interviewed Jackson on the
phone in late twenty eleven. Crestonwant to reveal the details of the conversation,

(22:17):
but he described Jackson as cooperative atthe time. Quote Crosson also told
NJ dot Com that he reached outto the Eagles by phone in early twenty
eleven, even before he interviewed Jacksonas a courtesy to alert them to Jackson's
connection to an alleged killer. Henever received a response from the team,
he said. The following year, the Eagles signed Jackson to a five year,

(22:41):
forty eight point five million dollar contractextension that sounds like a deal.
Five years, forty eight point fivedifferent time, Yes, it was.
When contacted by NJ dot Com onWednesday, the Eagles issued a statement that
they had no comment at this timeand team officials would either confirm or deny
whether anyone in the front office hadspoken to Crossing about Jackson's ties to a
homicide suspect. On Thursday, asource and organization said current front office members

(23:04):
had been aware of Jackson's links toan alleged killer. Nothing is connecting here,
and he talked to the cop.Nothing, nothing is connecting here.
What is this? Shakur, whowas in fact acquitted of Watson's murder and
a related gun charge in January twentythirteen, spent more than a year in
jail waiting trial. In a photoapparently taken shortly after his release, Shakira

(23:30):
is shown still wearing his La Countyjail T shirt while someone who appears to
be Jackson holds up a Jackpot chaino. At least one person close to Jackson
believes the troubling associations date back tomid two thousands, when his father Bill
was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Theloss of his father was devastating for him.
We got to bring this in whenhis dad passed away. I think

(23:52):
Deshaun started hanging around with some knockto good people. But that's not all
Elliot has. More for us.Another bad connection sounds like a good name
for a rap group. Another badconnection back in the day. A little
over a year after the rising.A little over a year after the rising,

(24:15):
NFL star was interviewed by police abouthis connection to secure Jackson's name once
again made its way onto the deskof Detective Crossing. This time, Jackson's
name surfaced as part of an investigationin a twenty twelve gang related murder that
occurred outside of South La business wherea party had taken place. The building
was owned or at least by amember of Jackson's family, police said.

(24:37):
During the search of the building, cross And told nj dot Com investigators found
several documents belonging to Jackson, includinga car title, a gun perman issue
in New Jersey, and credit cardreceipts. After discovering the documents, cross
And said he made multiple attempts tocontact Jackson my phone, but never was
able to connect with the wide receiver. Crossing added that Jackson never can was

(25:00):
never considered a suspect in the crime. I feel like I should repeat that
again here slowly and not stumble overmy words. Crossing added that Jackson was
never considered a suspect in the crime, despite Jackson's name having come up into
connection with two gang related murders involvingcrips. Cross And said police have no
hard evidence that Jackson is a memberof the gang, which was formed in

(25:22):
the late sixties. Wow, we'regoing back. We're gonna lay the details
about this gang from the nineteen sixtiesand estimated thirty five thousand members across the
country. You think he found thatstat at Wikipedia? Probably. Crossing said,
However, the Jackson routinely flashes theCryp Gang signs and photos on social
media and even on television during anNFL game. You don't want to see

(25:45):
anybody throwing up gang signs like that, like he did in the Redskins games
last year, Crossing said, nowformally known as the command or formally known
as the Redskins, now known asthe Commanders, those were neighborhood Cryp Gang
signs, and he flashed him duringa game. He may not be a
film with the gang, but theydon't take kindly to those not in the
gang throwing up those gang signs closequote. This goes on. Last season,

(26:10):
Jackson appeared to throw up his handgesture in the face of Washington Redskins
defense back D'Angel Hall after reception theEagle season opener. Jackson also be contorting
his fingers to make a see anothercrip sign. In a music video he
shot with fellow Polly High student SnoopDogg. Jackson flashed it yet again while
wearing an Anaheim Angels hat grief.Even the name of Jackson's music label,

(26:34):
Jackpot Records, has not gone unnoticedby authorities. Police brought it up to
Jackson cross and said when he wasinterviewed in an investigation of the Watson homicide.
The two season Jackpot cops believe weresymbolic crips. Avoid putting a C
next to a K, because ingang speak that means crip killer. There

(26:55):
you go. I knew I hadsomething. I was on the right,
you know, right, church wrongpew. There you go. Since Jackson
explained the spelling by saying the Internetdomain name for Jackpot was taken the son
Jackson is not a gang member.Quote said EAG Management and CEO and founder
Denise White, Jackson agent, He'sfar from it. White, who would

(27:17):
not make Jackson available for an interview, offered no further comment. Oh this
goes on and on, and herewe go. We're coming down to home
stretch. I promise this is thisis something clean record question mark. Despite
his connections with reputed gang members andpolice interest in talking to him, a
connection with two homicides, Jackson's supportersupporters say he has otherwise comported himself as

(27:44):
a model citizen, though court records. However, nj dot Com uncovered a
previously unreported arrest that occurred in Septembertwo thousand and nine. Jackson was think
he got arrested for I'm gonna guessweed. Jackson was pulled over for having
illegally tent well legally ten and man, what a terrible guy, and during
the course of the traffic stop, overs said they discover marijuana to be a

(28:06):
call winner. Jackson was arrested forpossession of marijuana while driving, disturbing the
peace, and operating a car withmaterials that obstract, obstruct or reduce the
driver's view. According to court documents, the marijuana legal tenpted windows charges were
dropped as part as the plea deal, Jackson pled guilty to disturbing to peace
charge in April twenty ten. Boththe Eagles and a spokesman for the NFL

(28:30):
reached Thursday to decline on common declinedto comment on the rest. Since joining
the Eagles in two thousand and eight, Jackson, a three time pro bowler,
has been an active member of thePhiladelphia community. Has been involved in
several charities. He has been particularlyactive in campaigning against youth bully. You
remember that, Yes, he wenton the show. Laura, his former

(28:51):
high school coach, who is nowhis head coach at Warren High School in
Downey, said Jackson has been nothingbut friendly when the wide Receivers visited Polly
High during NFL weeks. Laura addedthat Jackson has even been willing to bring
his anti bullying message to Warren. What a what a gang member? All
right? Anti bullying? Just youknow, I mean the yes, this
this piece is coming off his Yes, it's not coming off well, all

(29:15):
right, he had. I wasa little worried about him after his father
passed. I know his mother triedto get involved in his life, but
I haven't seen any indication outside ofhim starting up his rap label. Athletes
like to portray a tough image withgangsters and whatever else. Maybe he's playing
into that. That's a part ofhim that I never really saw. That
was from the head coach at thetime. Jackson was actually a crime victim

(29:37):
earlier. This year's burglars made offon an unknown amount of cash and an
estimate one hundred and twenty five thousanddollars in jewelry and two handguns from the
South Philly home. Jackson disputed thereports and offered a fifty thousand reward for
information on the crime. Why wouldyou dispute it? They was moving on.
When I asked about Jackson's status atthe NFL owners meeting Tuesday in Orlando,

(29:57):
Eagles general manager how Rosa said Jacksonis still under contract for us,
and until there's anything to report onour players, that's where we are now.
Head coach Chip Kelly also dodge questionsregarding rumors about training Jackson, saying
on Wednesday, I like de Sean, but we're always going to do what's
best for the organization. And thatwas the article the Pulitzer Prize. So

(30:21):
there's no connections, not to damn, no ties, no nothing. They
found the Instagram posts and a detectivethat was just doing his due diligence of
somebody that could have been tied tohim because he was part of Jackson's record
label. And that's it correct, all right? So that is I mean,

(30:42):
well, hang on, hay, because that came out of four h
five. Yes, and at fourforty seven he was released by the Eagles.
And then who had that article?First NJ dot Com and one Elliott
shot parks. How about this thefirst line the Eagles already had off the
fields concerns about Jackson's sources said. The decision to release Jazz came down to

(31:04):
a number of factors, said thesource, one of which the white outs
consistently missing meetings to hang out withhis friends. His attitude was also a
concern. Insane. Now, thisis why I'm doing this today because,
like I said, when I waslive on the air and this broke,
and this was nine years ago.Again, not to say I was young,

(31:30):
because I'm thirty three, thirty fourat the time, I'm thirty three.
Let's just say that young young enough, but I should be savvy enough
to know that there could be ahit piece out there. I was just
blown away that Deshaun Jackson was draftedby the team who was successful as a

(31:52):
player, who really didn't have much, you know, baggage, I get
it, marijuana tinted windows, whothey robbed this house? Not good,
But he didn't do anything wrong.I just was under the impression that this
was factual, that there was ties. But I think we can say with

(32:13):
one ninety nine percent certainty, becauseyou can't go full throttle that this was
a hit piece released by Chip Kellyand somebody in the Eagles organization, because
I'm not just pitting this clearly on. Chip Kelly pushed to a reporter that
was young enough and naive enough tobelieve that, you know what what they're

(32:37):
giving me is true, or hey, I put this out there. Scratch
my back, I scratch yours. But even if I'm there, there is
no we've never seen at least Ihaven't. I don't know. Maybe I'm
I'm just I haven't looked for itenough to see it. But when has
it ever been Okay, well, let's put out a hit piece on somebody

(32:59):
related to gang ties and something likethat. I mean, something something like
that would never come out now becausewhat what that looks like with that piece,
to me, looks like is avery very different or an outside outlook
of rap culture, right, Likeit's just somebody because it's like they're saying

(33:20):
DeShawn Jackson with the the see theGang sign in a Snoop Dogg video,
like, oh man, he hasties with Snoop Dogg. I mean,
this is terrible, you know,It's just it's a right, it's I
don't know, it is. Itjust seems like I just don't I don't
think that would ever be posted now, and I don't know who would have

(33:44):
fed that to them or at leastpoint them a direction of that. It
is. It is odd and Idon't even want to speculate on what came
across from them to post this, but still it is odd. Even almost
ten years later, that's something. And we're gonna get up in actually ten
years later this in a few months. Yep. I just have never seen

(34:04):
something like that before. So alot of people are definitely on the timeline
going, Yo, dude, areyou ever gonna say anything about this?
Because he's never addressed it. LikeI said, I think it's important for
everybody to grow in life. Andif he came out and said you know
what, I should have did alittle bit more due diligence. Maybe I
took a little of the word fromthe organization as a little bit more factual

(34:30):
than I should have. But therewas definitely, definitely a moment in my
I've never been called a racist onair before for anything. Never there was
like one time I made a jokeabout Justin Bieber that was really unfortunate.
But other than that, I'll tellyou that one another day. Other than
that, this guy called in andwas so heated because I was like,

(34:52):
the Eagles are putting this out there. Of course they are. You know,
he's got connections to ties. Youcan't have that with your team connect
And this is a different time oflike journalism and a different I mean,
this is way before twenty nineteen,of the twenty twenty election cycle, and
even before the twenty sixteen election cycle, you know, like that, it's

(35:12):
a completely different world then. Yeah, So it's not like no little normal
back twenty swe where everything comes outnow and even I do it and I
shouldn't do it, but even Ido it with a Okay, I got
to look through this a different lens. Why is this being put out?
Who's putting this out? Is thereany reason too rect Like now, now
you look at it a lens ofwhat is there to gain from somebody putting
this out? So immediately forty fiveminutes later they released that story, and

(35:34):
then forty minutes later they cut toSean Jackson. Of course he had that.
So it goes very convenient, Itgoes hand in hand. Conveniently,
it goes hand in hand. Weknow what took place, but really the
reason why, and I think it'sbeen uncovered, and at least all the
players have talked about it. WhoChip Kelly basically got rid of. They
all hated Chip. That's it.That's all it was. Their attitudes were

(35:55):
bad because they hated Chip. Theyhated the way things were going. They
were doing somewhat well, but theyjust hated how things were being run.
Because Ship Kelly, we know, was a very difficult person to deal with.
That hasn't changed even since till now. When you see lad a good
season, they were think of firingJim Kelly after this season. You know
he's not He's not a very easyperson to work with, even in the
year twenty twenty three, almost tenyears later. So I think we uncovered

(36:17):
that very easily. It is oddsomething like that was put out, and
again there's it's no coincidence that itwas put out forty minutes before he got
released. Funny Times, Man,Funny Times. And as I said,
all I asked for is just youknow, come out and say growth ten
years ago was ten years ago. That's a long time ago. I mean,

(36:37):
but even it is interesting going backand you reading all of that,
which I think was actually worthwhile becausethe way they are messaging this, I
mean, yeah, it's there's alot of racial undertones in this. Oh
yeah, like a lot. Thefact that we're bringing up, the fact
that we're bringing up Sharon I know, yes, you know, like bring

(37:00):
that up. That's that has nothingto do with this situation. And yet
that is, well that happened. So you know, now the league is
looking around and here's the sewn Jackson'sI guess type it is. It's very
odd, yeah that that happened.Well anyways, look, bottom line is,
uh, you know that it wasa very throwback moment of this story,

(37:22):
and I felt like it it's aninteresting one with Seawan Jackson also being
retiring, and that was that wasI mean, the last thing that really
happened when he was an Eagle wasthat whole moment he came back. He
came back, but nobody remembers thatexactly. That's like Alan Everson coming back.
Well, does any remember that?Run? A little bit we got,
we got a little bit of commentscoming in here, and we got

(37:44):
some people as far as on socialSo we'll get into all of that.
I promise we're late for our break, but we will come back and revisit
some of this from DeShawn Jackson's HeyDay Look DeShawn Jackson Appreciation Show, John
Jansen, I'm sure you're okay withthat. Okay, you should go back
and watch those seven minutes in itsentirety though, because those again, it's
like a minis series. Now,I'll watch it in every sixty seconds.

(38:05):
I forgot about the one he didto the Giants. I think it was
a Sunday night football game. AlMichaels was on the call. Not no,
not the miracle at the Meadowlands, but the one where he caught it,
Okay, I know. And thenhe circles back and dude, he
was a burner, just a burner. He might be still the fastest guy
in the NFL, right now,I mean he wasn't he on the Ravens
last year? Last year? Wasit two years ago? It might have

(38:28):
been. Last year was last year, and the Ravens had signed him because
they had zero deep threat and sothey signed to Sean Jackson and Lamar Jackson
threw his longest pass of the yearat that time to to Shawn Jackson was
a seventy something yard pass. Allright, we got a lot to get
to on the other side. We'lldo that here. Don't go anywhere more
than you ticket.
