bit more about tonight's Matt Game two against.

Speaker 5 (01:01):
The Washington Nationals.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
What went right, what went wrong, and what can be
fixed about last night's game, Sean bnar before we diveing
into the NBA playoffs, and I know that that's exactly
where your mind is at right now, I'll due respect
to those fighting Phillies, we understand how that works. I
do want to bring this up and this is just
a simple man's take hashtag one man's take and as

(01:26):
I often put out there, and just something that I
think we need to take inventory on.

Speaker 5 (01:31):
As far as.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
Phillies fans are concerned, Okay, and you felt it last night.
You felt it through the television screen. You know that
everybody inside that stadium last night was on pins and needles. Sean,
it's not even May yet. We have to relax. This
is not good for this team long term.

Speaker 5 (01:54):
And I get it. Boohoo.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
These guys are professionals. We're big, bad Philadelphia bs. I've
been doing this long enough to know that this there
is something different. There is a different vibe when it
comes to this Phillies team and the the the way
that these fans are reacting both on the timeline and
at Citizens Bank Park, and the announcers last night said

(02:18):
it as well. You can hear a pin drop. Luke's
gonna tell us what was taking place. From his thoughts,
as far as last night's game was concerned, too, it
is not good.

Speaker 5 (02:26):
I get it. This bullpen has been struggling. You're going to.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Go through these sort of walls throughout the course of
one sixty two. This is not healthy for you, to
Philly fan. This is certainly not healthy for the players
on the team.

Speaker 5 (02:40):
And all you have to do. You can sit there
and say what you want.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
But we used to pat ourselves on the back, hit
ourselves in the chest saying that there's nothing better in
Major League Baseball than the fans at Citizens Bank Park,
in that atmosphere.

Speaker 5 (02:55):
And while I.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Love it, it's.

Speaker 5 (02:57):
No longer number one. You know what is number one?
What's that up?

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Ninety five straight? The Queens, the New York Mets had
the best atmosphere in baseball right now. And yes they
have the best record, I believe, And yes they're on
top of the division and they're playing great and they
got the best of the Phillies last year. Understood, But man,
we got to loosen up. We gotta have some fun.
We got to bring a little bit more energy. How

(03:24):
about getting behind the team. You know, this is a
fan base that was all again. We love to smell
ourselves when we're on top. With the whole Trey Turner nonsense.
Philly Captain gets a Netflix show out of it. You
got WIP hosts trying to no, I started no, I
started it.

Speaker 5 (03:40):
Well, why not last night?

Speaker 3 (03:41):
Why not you know, get behind Kirk Ring when he's
on there, when he's about to, you know, hopefully strike
the guy out and said he's in the right field,
Like it's just not healthy.

Speaker 5 (03:53):
It's not even may right now.

Speaker 6 (03:55):
Expectations change everything.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Sean Bray, Yeah, but this team has had expectations.

Speaker 7 (04:00):
But I guess in this specific situation, why I think
it stands out so much is when you think about
this Phillies team over the past couple of years, they
have been this team with this like fun, loving, easy
going vibe, having fun, dumping water on each other, celebrate
in the locker room, which is sort of unique to
Philadelphia that we have not had that with a lot
of teams. When you think about it dating back, this
has had their own personality and it doesn't feel like

(04:21):
it's there this year. And why that's, like, I don't
want to say particularly concerning, but why it stands out
so much is it's the same guys that this is
still Alec Boem, Bryce Harper. You go down the list
of these guys who'd have Bryce and Stott. You know,
all like these moments were happening with these same people
and they're not this year, So expectations is certainly weighing
on these guys. I think it was because it was

(04:41):
sort of a rapid rise to this team becoming sort
of relevant and legitimate.

Speaker 8 (04:45):
Here.

Speaker 7 (04:45):
Yes, they were always building in this direction, but when
they made that first appearance in the World Series and
when they were able to exceed expectations on a year
by year basis, those expectations have now raised and the
results have been regretted. So I'm in agreement with you that,
like every one is taking this too serious right now.

Speaker 6 (05:01):
It is a marathon, the MLB season marathon.

Speaker 7 (05:04):
We're not even twenty percent through on the on the year,
like we're so in the early parts of the season.
But yeah, I mean it's clearly there and I have,
like my fear is it gets worse before it gets back.

Speaker 5 (05:15):
He's going to get worse.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
And if they didn't win last night, it's it's people
want heads on sticks. Yeah, got a fired like Mark
Henry Junior wanting a fire topper.

Speaker 7 (05:24):
I don't like the fire topper takes at all, because
what do you want from rap Thompson right now.

Speaker 5 (05:29):
Like it's April. It's April.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
Yeah, Like this team, Joe Girardi needed to be fired.
He got fired in the middle of May. That team
was a disaster. This team is not a disaster by
this team is flawed.

Speaker 6 (05:43):
I think that's the worst thing that could happen. The
fact that they turn things around after that. From a
Philadelphia fan perspective, like that can't just be the button
we press every time.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
That's and this is where we're at right now, joining
us live from Sisters Bank Park. Read them acrossing broad
hear them right here on a gambler talking all things
fightings and of course focus on all things major League Baseball.
Luke Arcaney. Luke say, I opened up the show man.
This isn't healthy for everybody, right. I feel like our
cholesterol levels are just rise and and and we watched

(06:13):
this team, and this team is out there grinding and fighting,
and even in their bad days, it's still like like relax, man,
there's still one hundred and thirty five more games to
go here. And then last night you could you could
I felt it on my couch. What was it like
inside the ballpark and the ninth thing like nobody had
confidence that Kirkham was going to get out of that inning.

Speaker 8 (06:35):
No, I'll tell you what I thought.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
The guy that was sitting right outside of the press
box sprout probably mid fifties. I thought he was gonna
have a stroke home run.

Speaker 5 (06:43):
It's April.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
Yeah, I mean, it's just yeah, it's I think to
a good point that you kind of said, Sean, I
think one of the worst things for the city in
general was how good the firing of Joji already works, right,
because now it's just like five bad games to fire
the coach, fire the guy that has the winningest that
has the highest winning percentage in the history of the Phillies. Yeah. No,

(07:07):
I mean it's it seems like right now every game
people are treating every game like a playoff game.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
Yes, and that can't that that's that's not healthy. That
can't that can't be good for the long run.

Speaker 8 (07:17):
It also comes down to.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
My my take forever of the people that treat baseball
seasons like football seasons are absolute lunatics.

Speaker 8 (07:26):
I wanted to rip my hair out when Mark said
bat numbers. It's just absolutely absurd.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
And he gets emotional and it's all love and respect.
We're not picking on him, and he took it back.

Speaker 5 (07:37):
Yeah, oh did he? I didn't see that. But it's like,
I get it.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
We're all frustrated when this team blows the lead in
the bullpen. But you know, like it comes back to
me Luke, like how everybody was, you know, gloating about
the tray turner and now we continue to hear it
and the Mets did it. They showed support for Soto
and it's like, oh, yeah, we get it, we did
it all right. Well, like, was it a one time
deal because that that's that's fraudulent to me.

Speaker 5 (08:01):
He got behind tred Turner.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
You don't think that this team right now, sixteen and
thirteen could use a little bit of a let's go yeah,
you know, instead of.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
Here we go again to blow it.

Speaker 8 (08:11):
Yeah, I mean, I think it's a mix of both.
I think.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
I mean at the beginning of that game last night,
that thirty eight thousand people there on a Tuesday night
last night, that place.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
Was rocket fantastic.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
They they deserve to be angry when their best right
handed reliever lets up a three run home run because
he only has two pitches and he can't locate one
of them right now.

Speaker 8 (08:32):
So they had every.

Speaker 5 (08:33):
Ring pitch though right wasn't a decent pitch down low inside.

Speaker 8 (08:38):
He gotfed it.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
But my issue with Kirker right now is he only
is the two pitch pitcher, and when you're a reliever.
I've been saying this about Romano like a week ago.
If you're a two pitch pitcher and one pitch doesn't work,
usually the other one doesn't work either. Yeah, they just
kind of go hand in hand. And one Kirkery needs
to stop shaking off j T.

Speaker 8 (08:59):
Two. He needs to trust the fastball a lot more.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
When Kirkering first came into the league, he was throwing
about eighty percent sweepers because it's the only pitch he
was good at.

Speaker 8 (09:10):
And then he developed the fastball.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
Last year he started to throw it really well, and
then he's kind of getting away from it again.

Speaker 8 (09:17):
But yeah, everyone needs to take a deep breath. That's
kind of where I'm at. Everyone needs to relax.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
But I tweeted out something this morning and people weren't
happy about it. Trust me, I got like eighty something
replies about it. Was I said Trey Turner at four
hits last night, and all I've heard today was about
is two misplays in the field, and granted, yeah they
were big misplays, but they also probably lose that game
by three runs without Trey Turner and I seins.

Speaker 5 (09:40):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
And that's another thing again, these voices that get elevated
in our city these these days. I have no idea,
but that wacko broads is not my timeline out of nowhere.
Get rid of trade Turner, Like this is a guy,
Like his two ninety average was a fraud. Like what
it's going on right now? Is that what it is?
Is that state over there just poisoning everybody in this area.

Speaker 8 (10:04):
Well, that's just what because you know, this is.

Speaker 5 (10:06):
What I want to bring up.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
I want to say, Like it used to be just
the timeline thing, right, It used to be like, oh,
if you want to be swayed and negative, it's on
the timeline.

Speaker 5 (10:16):
It feels like now it's in the stands.

Speaker 3 (10:18):
And and last night was a perfect case in point
to the point that TMAC and Kruck were like, dude,
this is a playoff atmosphere, and I'm all about games
giving that vibe. It's fun in the right way, but
that wasn't the right way last right, this is the
Washington bleeping' Nationals.

Speaker 5 (10:35):
Yeah, on April twenty ninth.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
I also think that's what happens when you employ one
sport host that don't know anything about the other three sports.

Speaker 5 (10:44):
That's true to digress. Yeah it's fair.

Speaker 8 (10:47):
Yeah, No, it doesn't end granted.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
I mean last night was absolutely and just a stupid
ab third baseball game, So I get why the crowd
was a little more into it, but.

Speaker 8 (10:58):
Yeah, it's just will need to relax. It's so it's.

Speaker 5 (11:05):
Tomorrow is tomorrow.

Speaker 8 (11:09):
And the Phillies are back at it to not.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
I just want to know, like what exactly would be
said said today if they did blow that, if they
didn't win yesterday, the take crazy, the takes would be
just the worst that we've seen in years, honestly, going
back to probably Gerardi.

Speaker 5 (11:26):
It's a long way to goo.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
I don't know what to say other than that, you know,
and I just really do believe it comes back to
everybody wanting to pat themselves on the on the back.

Speaker 5 (11:39):
Look at us, look at us.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
We did Trey Turner right, he turned it around because
of the Philly fan and it's just like, okay, well
where is that now? That can't just be a one
time deal if you're going to continue to tell me
about it every single time you have an opportunity to, like,
we gotta be honest with art, with ourselves here, and
I just felt like, you know what I almost wanted
Kirk ring or these damn pictures come out of a

(12:00):
bullpen and be Savannah bananas with it, start getting the
crowd going, step up to that damn like it, just
break the tension. It's absurd that this is what we're
dealing with right now once again for the one hundred
time on April twenty ninth, last night.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Yeah, but I also think to the defense of that
as well, I think the only reason that it feels
like this is because the Phillies are going into a
lot of six innings with a nice lead. There's a
lot of games they're going into the six innings with
a pretty significant lead and then all of a sudden,
the eighth inning it's a tie game or they're losing.

(12:37):
Like they everyone needs to relax.

Speaker 8 (12:40):
A little bit.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
But at the same time, the Phillies need to give
fans a bit of a reason to sit back in
their chair because there hasn't been many games over the
past three weeks that you've been able to sit lounge back.

Speaker 8 (12:53):
In your chair and not worry at all. It's about
the final outcome.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
Yeah, you know, there's a Yeah, I know, I know
there's a couple of different ways I can go with
it without getting too much into this, because again it's
it's it's just not healthy and that's the big point.
And that's all I'll say on that. Moving off of it, well,
said Luke Luke Arcandy live from Citizens Bank Park.

Speaker 5 (13:19):
Ugly day outside.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
You're gonna enjoy yourself down there today.

Speaker 5 (13:23):
Yeah, it's ugly. Oh my god.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
If it's baseball more you couldn't get any more perfect,
I'll give I'll give you a baseball work And on
that one, yeah, it's it's a gorgeous day down at
Citizens Bank Park. I don't think there's a cloud in
the sky. So with that, Sancho's on the mound tonight.
And was it last time that we saw Sanchez get
on the mound that he left with the the arm? Okay,

(13:49):
so is there anything in your mind that like we
need to not worry about as we were just talking
about that, but this is serious because you're talking about
a started pitching.

Speaker 5 (13:59):
But any concerns from Thompson or yourself, Luke.

Speaker 8 (14:04):
As of right now.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
No, when he spoke yesterday, they seemed completely confident. I
don't think they'd be sending him out there if he
wasn't one hundred percent. So Rob's gonna speak in a
little bit. I'd assume they'll have him on. I don't
think some crazy low pitch count, but but I can't
imagine he's gonna throw one hundred and five pitches tonight.
So I have a feeling you'll see probably maybe like

(14:28):
ninety shout of him tonight. But yeah, I mean he's
he's back obviously that that game, and I believe it was.

Speaker 8 (14:35):
The Mets game. I think it was the second or
third game. He he left after two with the forearm thing.
But I mean from from day one after that, he
seemed like he was fine. He asked the team to
throw a soft toss.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
The next day or long toss the next day, and
they were like, no, take it easy for a day.

Speaker 8 (14:52):
So he seems like he's completely fine.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
I will say, on the other side, Jake Irvin, we've
always hit him pretty well in the past, but it
seems like he might have.

Speaker 8 (15:02):
Been finding something in the last three games.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
Last three games, he's looked really good, so I would
say we could be in for a little low scoring
one early maybe, But at the same time, this is
what happens when you match the twenty ninth ranked bullpen
up against the thirtieth ranked bullpen.

Speaker 8 (15:19):
Ay.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
Now, so this game can this can go from a
one nothing game to a seven to six barn burner
with him a matter at ten minutes.

Speaker 8 (15:26):
You saw that happen last night.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
Phillies have now won three straight and look, the Washington
National is always good to see them come to town
because you can normally beat up there.

Speaker 8 (15:38):
We call that a winning streak, that's right.

Speaker 3 (15:40):
It feels good to say that, all right, and again
we will keep our eyes on what's to come for tonight.

Speaker 5 (15:45):
Sanchez, of course getting the start there.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
If he's healthy, the expectations for him if he's not
on that, well, look, you're gonna find out more when
Thompson speaks here. So that's definitely something we need to
focus on. If we're going to fire on Sanchez is props,
but it is a little low here. It's a five
and a half, so I think that's baked into the
number that he is going to be on some sort
of pitch count and won't go you know, seven, eight

(16:11):
to nine innings tonight, it's only five and a half
here with Sanchez.

Speaker 5 (16:15):
Your thoughts on that.

Speaker 9 (16:17):
Yeah, I will say it's not the same obviously Nationals
team as last year, but the Nationals have struggled against
lefties this year, and the last time Sanchez faced the
Nationals with August seventeenth last year, that was a complete
game for him at home, with just one and run,

(16:38):
allowed two hits. So he's thrown against the Nationals pretty
well last season.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
I mean, I would maybe start to look at that
over I think it's pretty low.

Speaker 8 (16:49):
I wouldn't take it until we hear if there is
a pitch count.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
Once again, I don't think Thompson's gonna have him throw
one hundred and ten pitches.

Speaker 8 (16:56):
But I mean I don't.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
I also don't see him him after you know that
seventy five mark. I think it's just going to be
a make sure he's healthy after every inning, and if
they feel something at some point, they'll yank him out
of there. But once again, I don't think he'd be
out there if he wasn't one hundred percent healthy.

Speaker 8 (17:14):
So once we hear that there's no pitch count. I
would probably.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
I'll look at that over because the Nationals have had
a bit of a hard time against lefties this ship.

Speaker 5 (17:24):
I agree with that.

Speaker 3 (17:25):
Alvarado, we didn't even speak about him and what he
was able to do less electric. Yeah, that was incredible,
So shame on me for not even bringing that up.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
The only thing more electric than Alvarado was the kid
mimicking Alvaro.

Speaker 6 (17:36):
So cool, so cool.

Speaker 8 (17:37):
That was fantastic.

Speaker 3 (17:39):
I would imagine the Phillies will get him down there
again to another game.

Speaker 5 (17:42):
And put him front center on the jumbo.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
All right, anything for you As far as batter props,
hit or props, what are we looking at? Who's going
to have a game for the fightings this evening? If
you had to take a guest, Luke.

Speaker 9 (17:55):
Oh, as far as the hitters, I'll tell you one
guy to stay away from right now is Bryce.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
He he just seems to be in a bit of
a rut and.

Speaker 8 (18:06):
He's starting to kind of hit his way out of it.
But he's he's just been struggling.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
Just it's it's not falling for him, which is something
that's not crazy fun to take advantage of. I will
say the best splits.

Speaker 8 (18:21):
Against Irving are Stott.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
Obviously last night his hand gets stepped on, But if
he wasn't one hundred percent once again, he wouldn't be
in the lineup today.

Speaker 8 (18:30):
He is. He is back in there hitting lead off.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
As far as splits against Irving, stops five for fourteen
with two homers. Real Muto's five for twelve. Uh, he's
hitting four seventeen against him. I would say Stott, Turner
and jt they they have pretty much the best splits
against against him.

Speaker 8 (18:48):
I will say Mundososum hits him well as well, But yeah,
I would continue to ride the hot handed tray.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
He's he's really he's really hitting the ball well to
play the last week or side think he's hitting three
fifty seven over his last twelve or thirteen games something
like that, So he's really seeing the ball well.

Speaker 8 (19:07):
To play right now.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
I would probably look towards Trey and maybe Scott if
you want to bet on him.

Speaker 8 (19:12):
After that whole thing.

Speaker 3 (19:13):
Last night, shamanard any final questions for Luke Arkenny Live
and so this is Bank Park.

Speaker 7 (19:18):
Yeah, I got to ask about my guy Johann Rojas
here known power hitter Johann Rojas after last night, of course,
So we kind of entered this season with a little
bit of a frustration point running the same thing back
as far as the center field outlook, and then that
changed with Brandon Marsh obviously and getting off to a
pretty horrific start to the season having the hamstring injury
being sent down to the miners. It's been a different
Johann Rojas than I think we expected. He has not

(19:40):
been this rock solid glove the way his reputation is,
but to his credit, he has performed better at the plate.
So where are we at on the level of optimism
for Rojas moving forward? Is this just the everyday centerfielder
moving forward? Or do you think the Phillies are still
kind of trying to answer that question themselves.

Speaker 8 (19:56):
I mean, I think for now it has to be.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
He's played really well, and I will say Rob Thompson
has been extremely adamant in the past that Rojas succeeds
way more when he's consistently in the lineup.

Speaker 8 (20:11):
Yeah, he kind of has a bit of.

Speaker 1 (20:13):
A hard time when he's you know, playing only once
every three days, which yes, stanks because he's usually a
bench bat so you need him to be better in
those situations, but he's really just seeing the ball. Well,
he's he's a lot shorter than he was to the
ball last year, but he's still showing some power. Rob
joked last night after the game that he kind of

(20:35):
didn't want to tell Rojas that he has power because
then he'd starts swinging for the fences all the time.
But I mean, you can see what he can do
in the power department here and there. I mean, the guy, Yeah,
he might not be the tallest, but if you've ever
seen that dude in person, he's riffed man like, he's
a big dude.

Speaker 8 (20:54):
So if he can get a.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
Hold of one and sort of lifted a little bit,
that ball has a shot to go out. So yeah,
I mean it's basically like at the point where you
kind of have to take what you can get from Rojas.
You don't need, you know, him hitting three fifty and
like obviously you want those mistakes to stop in the outfield,
those sort of ones that he made last night, that's

(21:18):
not really like him to me, that first one, I
would say maybe the other one, but him just completely
mistracking that fly ball. That that's that's not like him.
I've always felt that his strength on the defensive side
of the ball is tracking fly balls.

Speaker 8 (21:35):
I think he struggles with the throw.

Speaker 1 (21:37):
That's kind of where he's always been a bit if
he had. He doesn't have the best arm, but he's
he's always been very good at tracking those balls. So
I'm not too worried about him in the outfield. But
at this point, I just think you have to ride
the hot hand. If Marsh comes back, I think it's
you know, it should still be Rojas's job for the

(21:58):
time being in my opinion, And that's not saying Marsh
He's gonna play once a week, but I think your
default centerfielder, I would say for the next few weeks
should be Ross.

Speaker 8 (22:08):
I mean, I think he's proved it. I think he's
earned it.

Speaker 5 (22:11):
Great stuff from Luke Arcaney. You can greet him at
Crossing broad dot com.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
Find him at our candy Luke on Socials joins us
all throughout the course of the week, giving us all
the updates we need. When it comes to the Phillies
and the world of Major League Baseball, I'm just waiting.
I know we got buy one, get one free with
the Dogs.

Speaker 5 (22:28):
The hot Dogs, right.

Speaker 3 (22:30):
I think they should have CT scan night down at
Citizen's Bank Park right where everybody gets a free seat
T scan or what's the thing that you go to
this thing like i've the blood pressure, the cvs you
go in and you stick your arm.

Speaker 5 (22:44):
We need we need those.

Speaker 8 (22:46):
Yeah, how about a free shot at the kill?

Speaker 5 (22:47):
A free shot would be good.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
How about how about seventh inning stretch sponsored by Xanax.

Speaker 5 (22:54):
Wow, that would be good too.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
That's definitely something that the Phillies fans right now.

Speaker 5 (23:00):
Good quarter.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
I mean, look, driving me a little something that we
gotta deal with.

Speaker 5 (23:08):
But uber rates.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
They do promote the uh please don't drink and drive
every other ing that probably wouldn't be the best.

Speaker 5 (23:16):
Look.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
I love I love our Phillies. I love our Phillies fans.

Speaker 5 (23:23):
I mean this.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
I'm just worried about our health and hopefully you know,
like because.

Speaker 5 (23:29):
This just feels like all right, if it's not one thing, there.

Speaker 3 (23:31):
Will be another thing for people out there. This team
is good. They're going to go through stretches. The bullpen
will eventually figure it itself out. If not, then they're
gonna go out there and make moves. Come trade deadline,
they will and they will. You know, if this Bullpen
doesn't figure it out, there will be new arms come August,
come July, whatever that trade deadline is, and of course

(23:54):
I would imagine they will fleece all things in the
minor leagues as well. Hopefully that is not the the case,
not the end result after it's all said and done.
A fun game last night, Luke. A nice reward for
you as you're hanging out there all day and night
for crossing broaden us here on the Gambler.

Speaker 5 (24:11):
Enjoy the game tonight and we'll catch up tomorrow, sir.
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
Pitch my idea, CT scan stop CT scan night and
Xanax seventh Inning Stretch.

Speaker 6 (24:22):
Yeah, I like it.

Speaker 5 (24:23):
I like it. What if the shot? You know, you
ever take a Xanax before?

Speaker 6 (24:26):
I have not, maybe when I had surgery. The one time.

Speaker 3 (24:29):
Xanax took them for a flight flying, I got prescribed
volume and uh and Xanax I'm not like those things
just knock you out, and you can understand how people
get addicted to it with all seriousness, but yeah, you
eat like a little a little half of one of
those to fly.

Speaker 5 (24:49):
You know, I don't care.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
You know, normally I'm my homeworst nightmare on a you know,
a flight and like, oh my god, I'm on this
tube and all I can think about is there's nothing
underneath us, Like there's three feet of space, my suitcase there,
and then oh, by the way, thirty thousand feet to
your death.

Speaker 5 (25:06):
Like that's what goes through my mind when I fly.

Speaker 7 (25:08):
I try to not think like that as much as
I possibly can, as I'll be getting in a flight
in like three weeks now where you go down to Savannah, Georgia.

Speaker 5 (25:16):
Is that a boy? That's right? That's right? Visit the
fam sister? Is you graduation?

Speaker 3 (25:20):
So oh very cool. I've been a Savannah Georgia. A
good time down there, sat Patrick state they do it right,
all right? Uh luke Garcaney setting the table for us nicely.
There a lot to get into today. We got some
odds and ends. We got some stupid stuff that we're
gonna discuss. I have yet to get this Bill Belichick
nonsense off my.

Speaker 6 (25:37):
Chest statement and there released a statement.

Speaker 5 (25:40):
He didn't release the statement. I can tell you that
right now, gotcha.

Speaker 3 (25:43):
She's in control of everything, and I just I can't
believe that this is happening. She's twenty four years old.
Somebody step in, dude and save this man. And believe me,
I'm not the only one that said it. As I
lost my father to Alzheimer's, I was wondering dementia. Is
this setting in for Bell? Like is this what he's

(26:03):
going through? It doesn't seem like that's the case. In
full disclosure, last year he was on McAfee and he
was fantastic.

Speaker 5 (26:10):
Yeah, I watched those hits.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
He would break down Monday Nights games and give you
the angle from He was money a lot of the
times from the betting perspective. So I don't think it's that.
It's just, dude, what are you doing right now? And
it can't be good from the university perspective to be
on CBS and be like, no, we're not answering that. Like,

(26:33):
I don't know, very odd, but uh, there is a
statement release by unc athletics and I'm sure they're gonna
yeah it really is.

Speaker 5 (26:41):
It's it's just out there. Maybe I don't know. I
don't know.

Speaker 3 (26:45):
Everybody's guessing right now. People are wondering how they met.
People are throwing around certain titles of movies.

Speaker 5 (26:52):
A Pretty Woman is one of those that are bringing brought.

Speaker 3 (26:55):
Up who knows Look, if you had nothing to hi,
just come out and say it's weird. He's seventy plus
years old, she's twenty four. God bless them. Whatever. If
they're happy, they're happy, but they're not right enough into
the sunset. They're in our face and our grill running
a Division one football program. And I know UNC football
is at UNC basketball, but it's still top notch.

Speaker 5 (27:18):
That's UNC athletics.

Speaker 3 (27:19):
Oh yeah, and Belichick's a big damn story and I
was excited to see what he was. They open up
with somebody. It's a big game. It's on Monday night,
it's on national TV. Like I was excited about, you
wu see football. And I can't tell you that I've
ever said that other than maybe Julius Peppers and Ronald
Curry at quarterback. Other than that, we'll see again. The

(27:40):
statement released is even crazier and also from the world
of is this really what's going on? The Atlanta Falcons
got fined for the prank call, which door Sanders. We're
gonna hit on all that, but I promise you this
back into the meat and potatoism.

Speaker 5 (27:56):
We got.

Speaker 3 (27:57):
NBA playoff basketball ratings are upshot. It's right, and it's
not because of Tyrese Haliburton's dad. It's actually because of
the games. And oh, by the way, the Refts are
swallowing the whistle most.

Speaker 5 (28:08):
Of the time.

Speaker 6 (28:09):
True, why don't we do that during the regular season.
It's a great question. I would love to hear an
answer from that.

Speaker 7 (28:14):
And I do think, like to be a little bit
fair to the NBA, like they're trying to move in
that direction.

Speaker 6 (28:19):
You can't regular season, uh more so than last year.

Speaker 5 (28:21):
I really say.

Speaker 7 (28:22):
Yes, it's still not like they it's still not a
polish product. They still need to continue to have down
that pathway there. But I think that message is starting
to be received by the NBA.

Speaker 3 (28:31):
Yeah, because I know, like the first two games of
the playoff series and I would say, like.

Speaker 5 (28:36):
Wow, these games are awesome. Now.

Speaker 3 (28:38):
Of course we got good competition, no doubt about that,
big name players, of course, but there's just a flow
of the game is so much more smooth. And I
and I get it. There are times that you're watching
your team or a team you have money on, you're like,
that's a foul. But if we say this, stick to
our guns again. We gotta be consistent. If the one

(28:59):
thing we say is well, if they're not gonna call
foul there, don't call foul there.

Speaker 5 (29:03):
I'm good. Then let's stick with that.

Speaker 6 (29:04):
Inconsistent refereeing is worse than bad refereeing.

Speaker 5 (29:07):
I agree.

Speaker 7 (29:07):
And that's kind of where it gets difficult with this, Like,
as long as there is that concrete this is how
we're calling it, everyone should be happy with that. Now,
I think it's fair to point that hasn't always been
the case, Like there's certainly been examples of you can
nitpick fowls here and there.

Speaker 6 (29:19):
At the end of the day, referees are human beings
that it's not gonna be perfect there.

Speaker 7 (29:22):
But I overall agree with your point here that like everyone,
it should be an everyone's best interest to see as
much just playing basketball, it's not a free throw contest,
and we shouldn't aspire for it to be that understood.

Speaker 3 (29:32):
Yeah, and they do have a difficult job because you're
talking about some of the biggest egos. Oh yeah, heated
in your face, in your face and like snap of
the fingers, Jimmy Butler could have choked out Dylan Brooks
and then what are you doing?

Speaker 5 (29:46):
Snap of the fingers.

Speaker 3 (29:47):
Giannis can grab you like he grabbed Benedic natzmer by
the back of the head.

Speaker 5 (29:51):
That's who it was. Yeah, my gosh, see that image
I did.

Speaker 6 (29:54):
Joanna's big dude man, big tough, scary dude.

Speaker 3 (29:59):
How about we were talking about him, uh Duran excuse
me from uh fune there, Yeah, from Memphis.

Speaker 5 (30:06):
He's a monster.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
Yeah, like dude. I wouldn't want to mess that Roman Catholic. Yeah,
pretty cool. Sam Ostry saying he played against it. Yeah,
it's pretty cool. I gotta know what he did.

Speaker 6 (30:16):
What Sam Sam?

Speaker 5 (30:18):
I don't know.

Speaker 7 (30:18):
I'm wondering if I may have seen Sam play basketball.
At the real point, I know I've seen Lower Marion games.
I'd never like put it together when he said that
last night was the first time that really crossed my
mind if I might have seen him play.

Speaker 5 (30:30):
Interesting?

Speaker 3 (30:31):
All right, Well, Sam's coming up at five o'clock swinging
and thing it. At six o'clock, we got been in
the edge with maclay and Beef coming up at seven
o'clock jam Pack Day Era programming on the Gambler.
