(00:03):
Let's go here. We are onare that You're done? Right? It
is? Let's go we are ourselvesup back on the person. He is
total in the NFL. Uh inthe history of the NFL. Is it
his thirty thirty years? Wow?Okay, we got news very buddy.

(00:26):
If you've got an issue with tonight'stotal, just take a look at the
board, fire up Draftings sports bookas we often do, and take a
look at some of those numbers, because tonight's total isn't far off from like
three other three other totals this weekas well. So we'll get into all
of that. We got John Jansen, I'm Sean Bray, so much to
get to, and let's open itup with I guess the big story,

(00:52):
and I guess the sports world, right, it's gotta be as far as
uh free agency hot stove Major LeagueBaseball. I would put the end season
tournament up there just because there's nothingelse happening, but we don't know if
it's gonna pay off just yet.Two o'clock start in Vegas, five o'clock
start out there for everybody else. Two games. I like one of them,
oh, by the way, notas hot as can be, but

(01:17):
seeing the board as clear as Ihave a right now in the NBA,
had one play last night, sayGolden State, don't need to be given
anybody twelve and a half Portland. They were up pretty a good significant portion
of that game. They ended uplosing by four. The only other game
that I was flirting with was theNuggets, Nuggets and Clippers. Nuggets ended

(01:38):
up losing that game. Clippers surprisedme to win that game. They were
point dog at home. Nuggets endedup winning or Clippers ended up winning,
and six Ers. Sixers went downthe road beat up on a pretty bad
Wizards team, although I'm not Idon't think they don't. They didn't beat
up on them, Let's just putit that way. But oh yeah they
didn't. Well did yeah? Beatdid and be win for fifty? I

(02:00):
had him Beid forty last night? How about that? Oh why did you
go fifty? I did you notbelieve in Embeid? Why did you go
fifty? I didn't think he wasgonna be playing that much. Did he
finish the whole game? I guesshe'd be had. Yeah, yeah he
did. He had a jump shotat the end of the game. It
was He's usually when he has thatsomething like that, and he puts up

(02:20):
fifty, it'll be in like threethree and a half quarters and be done.
Yeah, yeah, well yeah, thirty eight minutes last night. So
let's talk about Juan Soto to theNew York Yankees. John John Soto,
I want to open up with thisbecause this is interesting. Now, if
you're in the San Diego Padres, you make this move because you had a

(02:42):
ton of return. It was aseven player deal. We'll go over to
details in just a second as faras what players are where and all that.
Trent Grisham Yankees received him from thePadres. San Diego sent Michael King,
Burrito Vasquez, starting pitching proSP DrewThorpe and catcher Kyle Higgeyoshki Yashka.

(03:05):
Uh. Those are two prospects. And I love that you went from that.
I don't know if you got thatright. You went for it though.
I love the commitment. I'll oh, I'll always try. And you
know, the Asian names, Ilike saying them, you know, and
they just you know, they gotall those letters. You can never go
wrong. You can never go wrong. I don't think with the Yeah,
the Higgy one like show, Hey, that's such a great name a name,

(03:29):
and it's awesome. Asian names aregreat. I love Asian names.
Yeah, exactly. All right, let's uh, let's discuss this deal from
from I just want to get thisquestion off the jump. So we know
wn Soto is an amazing ballplayer. He's twenty five years old. I understand
the contract coming into play, borisagent, all that he's now traded twice

(03:52):
twice, and and yeah, salaryhas a lot to do with both of
those moves. But maybe there issomething happening behind the scenes. Maybe there
is a there there. I'm notsaying he's a bad teammate. You're applying
that's what it sounds like you're implying. I don't know. I don't know.
I just know that if it's likethe old cliche is, you know

(04:14):
they're not moving you if you're providingyour worth. And I don't know,
Juan Soto, would you not wantto hang on to him if you're the
padres or is the writing on thewall for you? Yeah? Writing?
They weren't going to sign him toa contract. And I think wan Sota
wants to test the waters, youknow, I think he wants to test
free agency, wants to test,uh, you know, that big contract,
because he's going to get a hugecontract whenever he does ends up hitting

(04:38):
free agency without any restrictions, andso yeah, I mean that's that's the
problem here. He was on Washington. Washington doesn't sign anybody. So Washington
was already really bad a couple ofyears ago, so they wanted to move
on. They wanted to move onto at least get something for him Padres.
They've spent a lot of money. They don't want to spend more money,
especially the kind of money that Wansdais going to get. So they

(04:59):
just want to go ahead and makesure they got draft picks or make sure
they got players, mostly before theygot rid of Soda or Soda was just
gonna walk, and the Yankees area team that's willing. Look, they're
not gonna be able to sign himto an extension or anything. I don't
think Soda is gonna do that, but at least the Yankees have him in
there. They have them for ayear, and the Yakis are going to
be willing to spend as much moneyas they can to keep him. But

(05:21):
I just, yeah, I thinkthe Yankees are at least the first team
that he's been on that is thatis going to be willing to end up
wanting to pay that contract and atleast want to keep him around for that
kind of money. Does he havethe two organizations? I mean, I
know the Padricks have spent They've doneThey've done an excellent job spending for a
franchise that is not a top market. They've done an awesome job spending money,

(05:43):
and I commend an organization for doingthat. But they were on going
to spend that much, and soI think it was just kind of writing
on the wall there for Soda thathe wasn't going to stay and they at
least wanted to get something for him. Yankees again, you just can't bank
on them remaining healthy. But youknow, you got Judge out there,
like that's a pretty damn good rosterright now, sluggers all over the place,

(06:06):
and it's just you know, Stanton, Stanton's still good. It's I
don't know he'll be there, stilla question of yeah, whether or not
he how good he's going to beand what they want to do with him.
But I it's I mean, youhave Aaron Judge, He's one of
the best sluggers in baseball. Pairedwith Wad Soda is just one of the
best overall hitters in baseball. Andthey just made another trade with the Socks

(06:28):
the other day and Socks yeah yeah, and Verdugo thank you. How do
you say his name? Yeah fordo Go. He's a leadoff hitter.
So you got Soto, you gotJudge, you got Rizzo, you got
Torres, you got the Mayhew, you got good last year Bolby, you
know, coming off of his rookieseason betting a nine hole. It's a

(06:51):
really good squad. Again, ifthey could stay healthy, that's the big
deal with all those names, andmore so about Stanton than anything. And
I don't know if he's gonna either. I don't know what the contract is,
if they're trying to save money onthat or what. I just remember
that the the the cash man hadsomething to say, and then of course
the the agent for uh for standingreally was like upset about it, rightfully.

(07:16):
So so again we'll see what happens. But as far as the answer
concerned, they're they're hey, look, they're doing their due diligence. They're
making things happen right here in thehot stove season. A lot you know,
not really not a lot happening foreverybody else. We're I guess we're
waiting on Show hey, more thananything still and then the Domino, Yeah,
we're waiting for Show. Well, you can't dice him up in the

(07:43):
seven pieces. He's only gone. No, I know that, I know
that. But also it's it's goingto take It's I mean, every team's
attention is on Show. Every team. Yeah, but if you don't have
a chance of getting him, whatthe hell you waste some time? Go
ahead and sign some of these guysor is it just on the agents and
everybody else saying wait, wait,we'll see what that number is, Like
it's just waiting. Yeah, Ireally do. I think it's just waiting

(08:05):
for Shore and Show. These decisionis gonna come soon. I think the
initial report was it should be atthe end of this week, so we're
getting very close to that. Andalso man Buster only and like some of
these guys just relaxed. Had tobe written. It had to be written.
Is a Japanese baseball He's a Japanesestar. Like he's not here to

(08:26):
save American sports, He's here tomake money and play baseball, Like,
come on, man, And Iwas surprised that Buster only wrote it though
that was I was surprised too becauseI like Buster, but man, that
was such a who cares? Whocares? I think I think it's changing
right like where we don't care andand like we wanted more of that.

(08:48):
But now this day and age, well I think some do, especially in
baseball, some do. But whatlike Lebron did? Lebron did this how
long ago? And you know, went on this entire tour of teams that
he could be on and even thetransfer portal now is like that. We're
like all these offers, but you'realso going to the extreme though you don't

(09:09):
need to go full out of them. Actual Puster was asking for He did
not ask for that. He referencedthat. He said, we I know,
look that's where that's what you want. Like you're you're straddling a very
very fine line with what he's saying. I won't argue that, and I'm
not going to are you that Iam saying it. It is a little

(09:31):
deep with the whole like, ohthis is and I'm not buying into it
because it's December seventh. Steven Aand everybody else at ESPN, they don't
watch college football. They don't watchcollege basketball. They're probably watching very little
NBA. They're doing their things, don't watch except for Russo. Yeah,
anytime they have an opportunity to yell, then that's what they're going to do.

(09:56):
And Russo with the nice the atomicbomb reference. Nice shot there,
mad dog, great great, greatstuff there. That's that's what we're talking
about. Thumbs ups. Nice work. Yeah. Again, I know that
it was written, it was goingto be written, and I was fine
with it being Rett. I wasjust like, wow, Buster, only
of all people like he didn't haveto write that, Buster, that's not
you. And again, I wouldlike show Hey to go from team to

(10:20):
team, maybe narrow it down fromthree. I'd like to see the highlights
of him going into a stadium andthey show his name on the boards and
all that, like that'd be cool. But I don't give a damn no.
I mean, we have changed somuch in the last decade due to
social media. Everything is in yourface twenty four seven, three sixty five.
We don't like Lebron James what hedid that that that was in the

(10:43):
time. Now you don't have todo that now. Every every one of
these guys have their own podcast andtheir own ages. I say, we're
naturally going to talk about it nomatter what, Like just because he's a
hush on it doesn't mean we're notgoing to talk about it. It's the
big the biggest name in baseball, the best player in baseball, the biggest
unicorn in all of baseball, andwe'll talk about it all the time.

(11:05):
Like that's Buster's writing a piece aboutit and he's getting engagement from it.
That's it, You got it,That's that's exactly what you want. You
got it. You know more iftalks about it. No, when Harper
sat with the Phillies, I rememberManny Machado running around. I don't remember
Harper running around. And I'm usingthat term because but yeah, Bryce remember

(11:28):
Manny. Remember Mammy Manny couldn't evenget in the building they had in.
Yeah, Bryce Harper did that aswell. I don't remember. It's not
as memorable as Manny Machado's because ofthat. It was really funny. But
yeah, Bryce Harper did the samething. But how much at the end
of that where we like, forthe love of God, please pick a
team, Like, for the loveof God, this is going on way

(11:48):
too long. I don't care anymore. Just do it. Just that was
the point, to the point wheresome Phillies fans were like, I don't
even want him anymore. It's takingtoo long like it was that, it
was that excruciating. It doesn't needto be that way. I agree,
I agree, And again it's show. Hey, you know he's not going
to do it. Relax, allright. Some other news and notes from

(12:09):
Major League Baseball. Craig Kimberrell, thank you see you if you're Baltimore.
What the hell are you thinking? What do we have to do? We
have to be that way about KimberleAre you that way too? Like,
hey, good riddance. You knowyou were awful, John, He was
terrible. He's the reason why theydidn't beat the the the Ears on the
Diamondbacks. He's also the reason whythey were in the postseason again someone else

(12:31):
he was. He was put intoa position he probably shouldn't have been in.
Uh, and he was, hewas getting in game, probably should
not have gotten right. He wasgay, But why was he gassed?
Though? Well, he pitched hisass off in that first half. He
was an all Star. Yeah,And if they don't have that, they
don't probably win as many games asthey should and Craig Kimberl. Craig kimber
was never brought in to be acloser, and he worked his way into

(12:52):
that closer. Brought him to bea closer closer I would found Craig kimber
was not good enough for that,Like we know he's at the end of
his career. Of course, thatwas Baltimore. Baltimore's crazy to even bring
him in. Well, Baltimore, that just shows how desperate that she shows
how desperate they are with Felix Bautistyle for the year because he got hurt

(13:13):
late this season and he was awesome. Felix Potis is one of the best
closers in all of baseball. Hewas automatic every time he went out there.
So it's it's a shame. Butyeah, they're gonna be without him
for a year, this whole upcomingyear, and I imagine they were just
desperate to get anybody. And look, Kimberl should probably be retired. He's
probably be you know done at thispoint. Yes, but I mean for

(13:35):
him, good for him, gotthirteen million dollars, gonna catch another contract
just because he's a veteran that couldeat up some innings in the bullpen.
But yeah, that just shows Baltimorehow desperate they are. Really. God,
he's pitched for everybody man he's beenaround. Yeah, I mean,
look, if he's getting that contract, good for him. Should take notes.
Let's talk about what took place.Speaking of the Diamondbacks, Eduardo Rodriguez

(14:00):
four years, eighty million dollars fromthe Detroit Tigers. Now with a pretty
good rotation out there, really goodlefty again, just the Diamondbacks putting it
together and they got a strong rotation. There's nothing else you need to say.
They got some really good players overthere. Uh, some guys that
have made some names for themselves.Carrol's looking really good, of course in

(14:22):
his rookie season. There's a lotto like with Arizona. That's a that's
a good move by the Diamondbacks.I like it. It is a good
move. I would have to looka little bit deeper than Edgewater Rodriguez because
I feel like he had a reallygood year last year. But that's it
seems like not an anomaly. Uh, but I imagine he's not gonna have
the same number seeded last year. It's probably gonna get worse. This actually
to me, like Edwater, Riguezis like a Taiwan walker at this point,

(14:46):
you can't put up good numbers likecan can be good, but for
the most part he's probably gonna havean era in the fours and mid fours
give you some good innings and times, but this guy isn't gonna be I
don't think Rodriguez is, you know, putting them over the top next year.
And Diamondbacks, it's gonna be reallytough to repeat what they did last
year. You know, we sawwith the Phillies how tough it is to
actually just go back into the playoffsand you know, do the same thing

(15:07):
you did last season. It's reallyhard to do that, especially for a
team that hasn't done it much. And for the Diamondbacks, they're younger.
Some of those guys should get better, but they were getting a lot of
performances out of guys that aren't verygood. Like Evon Lonngreya is not going
to give them stuff anything again, they're pitching staff. I don't think their
pitching staff is going to be nearlyas good, So it'll it'll be fascinating,
you know what they try and do. How much the Diamondbacks try to

(15:28):
build up that roster war to makesure they get back to the World Series
again. But I just don't.I don't see it. I don't see
that time improving like that. Isee them just regressing. And yeah,
look edwater Rodriguez three point three zero, raight not bad. A four point
zero six x FIP and a fourpoint zero four FIP Like that's what that
guy is. He's a he's gonnabe in the fours. It's some seasons

(15:48):
it's going to be a four pointseven to four like it was in twenty
twenty one with Boston, and someyears it's going to be potentially a three
point three zero, which was hisbest year so far in Major League Baseball.
But that's not always going to bethe case, you know, I
don't. I don't think this guy'scan repeat anything he did last year,
all right, and then excuse meto the Phillies. The one rumor that
was hot and heavy on the timelineyesterday, dude to Jock Peterson tweeting out

(16:11):
a picture of him in the Fanaticssaying, it's always funny in Philadelphia.
I don't know, maybe thing happened, Maybe he was scrolling through his pictures.
I think that there's probably something there. Uh, what is your take
on Jacques Peterson, who's thirty oneyears old, played the last two seasons
for the San Francisco Giants. Ibelieve diged up a little bit last year.

(16:33):
Played him one hundred and twenty onegames the year before one thirty four
with a two thirty five batting average, a three forty eight OBP. And
let's see here, la la,anything else you want to know from him?
Fifty one RBI, struck out eightynine times And I said, three
hundred and fifty eight at bats.Anything for you from Jack Peterson? No,

(16:57):
nothing much other than you know youcan use him because obviously they were
using a lot of Pacha and Rojasright handed bats. Nothing really crazy,
so you can platoon him. He'sreally the platoon guy. That's it.
He can only go out there againstrighty's certain situations. You don't want him
out there against the lefty. Isn'tthe best fielder, so you know,

(17:17):
it's only certain situations where he workswell. He's a very Darren Ruff of
Darren Ruff's where you only want toput him out there in very very certain
situations and he succeeds. Other thanthat though not too great. So yeah,
Jock, Jock Peterson's to me,whatever, don't I don't think it's
really necessary to get Jock Peterson.Kind of surprised if they do sign him,
if there is anything to that.Whatever the post was, you know,

(17:38):
I don't know why he posted that. I didn't even see any rumors
about Jack Peterson to begin with, and all of a sudden he posted a
picture and everybody's just like, Okay, let's run with that, I guess.
But yeah, like I get postedfor a reason because he can,
Yeah, because he wants to getpeople talking about him. Yeah, oh
yeah, yeah yeah, for hissake. Yeah, And everybody ran with

(18:02):
it. But you know, again, in terms of hard rumors, like
an actual rumor, I don't know. I don't know what to make of
it. And to me, Ijust don't. It doesn't move the needle
for me at all. It doesn'tdo anything for me. But that's the
kind of moves they're they're gonna make. They're not you know, they're not
gonna make a move for show.Hey, that's that's very clear. And
they weren't going to trade for JuanSoto, but you know, they don't

(18:22):
want to spend they've already. Look, they've already spent a lot of money.
I'm not saying they shouldn't spend more. Go ahead, it's not my
money. I don't give a bleep. Spend as much money as you can.
I would love for them to spendas much money. But in a
practical sense of an organization trying tobuild a roster. They've spent big contracts
already. They've done that, youknow. They they have two three hundred

(18:42):
million dollar contracts. They've spent overone hundred million dollars and two hundred million
dollars in a few pitchers. They'vedone it for guys like Nick Cassianis at
Shoreber. They spent the money. You know. I don't think they're gonna
spend any more money than they wantto. So it's gonna be guys like
Jock Peterson. They just fill thevoid of the roster, you know,
things like the Orioles just did.Try and find a guy you can get

(19:04):
for ten to thirteen million for yourbullpen. I'm sure they want some bullpen
held. So that's that's what they'regonna do. But yeah, other than
that, it's nothing. They're reallynot going to be involved in any of
these big market ones. All right, anything else from the world of baseball,
it's just about show hay at thispoint in time, show you.
I mean that once out of themit was big. Yeah. Good for

(19:25):
the Yankees, Good for the Kies. I agree, it's about damn time
because that was awful last year.Their fan base needed something, and I
think the Yankees knew how desperate theywere to try and get something, you
know, something big to happen forthat organization, just to turn around the
tides of fortune. But that wasthat was desperate from them, and they
needed that. And the Guardians endedup with the number and overall pick in

(19:48):
the twenty twenty four draft from thelottery where they were selected I think where
they were supposed to go Guardians dueto the odds. Like I'm so glad
the Athletics. I think we're sixth. Good? Good, yeah, good.
It's unfortunate. Oh is it isthat unfortunate? Or maybe you shouldn't
just try and be the worst teamin baseball and I mean really try.

(20:10):
Good. Good for them. Idon't have their back at all. All
right, let's keep let's keep itmoving here because look, well you know
what, we'll do this. We'lltake a quick time out. The other
side will fire it up and geton over to the grid iron. We
got Thursday night football, got someplays, and I think I have the
winning recipe. You know me.I'm in the kitchen. I'm diceinged up

(20:32):
some peppers, got my garlic, got my shallots. You need some garlic
and onion powder. You know, got it. Got a little half stick
of butter ready to go. Wehave stick of butter. I don't Yeah,
I can't do dude. Butter isthe key. But maybe good for
you though really bad. We're allgonna die. Yeah, okay. I
would like to be healthy to mostof my life, even though I'm not

(20:53):
that healthy. I spent the wholeday in the hospital yesterday. That was
fun. Oh I love that.Yeah, that's a great time. My
back is killing me. Not notcomfort not comfy seats in there. I
hate to make it about me,but you know you know how Oh yeah,
yeah right, you're what your whatwife is having surgery and you're like,
man, my back on this chair. Well thanks for putting that out

(21:15):
there, John, I didn't tellanything, Nike it Yes, I'm sorry.
Did I break that the hippo ruleor whatever. Wh did I break
the hippo rule? The hip bhip ho hip ba hip hippo. Roll
there you go. Yeah, no, Yeah, she had minor surgery.
Everything was good. Minor in quotes, air quotes. I didn't mean to
put I didn't mean to put herself. No, you're I'm Joe. It's
all good. I was going tosay no, no, no, I
put her stuff out of there. You know. I didn't mean too or

(21:37):
family. Yeah, more about yourback right now and your neck, you
know, sitting on that chair.Oh, seven thirty to like four bit
e ish. I think I wasin that hospital, like dude, oh,
and like she was scheduled for eightthirty, didn't go into like noon.

(22:03):
I'm like ready to go nuts.I've been there, brother. Yeah.
Man, it's a locked and noneof those chares are comfortable at all.
Nope, not. You know,I had this. I had our
slack channel up with our friends overat Crossing Bros. You were nice.
You were in the mud in theCrossing Brothers. I was all active over

(22:23):
there, just talking shop with concaidinto boys and girls and having some fun.
All right, speaking of that,we'll keep it going on the other
side. That sucks some football. We got Week fourteen matchups. I want
to go over something, numbers beforeteam matchups? Yeah, dishausting, No,
no, no, there's one. There's two great games, you kid,
there are I mean there were afew. How many backup quarterbacks were?

(22:45):
How many backup quarterbacks that? Areyou gonna watch all the two games
that I'm reference and I ain't gotno backups and have a lot to do
with potential playoff spots. We'll talkabout it all. Plus, we got
to get into some Bowld conversation GBCBest Approaching, Don't go anywhere daily take
it bag for this. I loveit that Friday. But we are getting

(23:10):
with you on every day and excitingstuff. We got the nd season tournament
coming up here at john of course, we got one game that just tipped
off. Excuse me, no,no, no, no, no,
no, five o'clock, five o'clock, two o'clock. Nice and happy,
Hi, Amyazaki day the legend StudioGhibli is his movie releases today, Big

(23:33):
big day, Big day for me. How about that? Have you ever
have you ever watched any Studio Ghiblimovies? Any of those? No,
Spirited Away, Princess Monon. Okay, how's moving Castle. These are legendary
movies. Last night I saw four. You saw four. I saw four.
I went for it. I wentfor that. I got to the
movie theater at twelve ten didn't leavetill eleven thirty. I saw four and

(23:56):
the last one. I imagine you'rea Paul Giamadi. Yes, uh,
he just put on a performance ofa lifetime in The Holdovers. That is
what it's what. It's automatic. It's one of my at least top ten
favorite movies of the year. Itmight be a top five favorite movie in
the year for me. And it'sa great It's a Christmas movie too,
Essentially, it's more than that.Obviously. It's very nuanced, very good.

(24:18):
But damn did I like I'm Iwas blaring Christmas music on the way
back. I was like, Istarted out, I got a candle,
that the Christmas street candle. Ilit that up. Ue. I'm on
the holiday spirit now like that. That one got me. It was a
nice, cozy, warm blanket ona Christmas in December wintery day. It
was perfect. It was so sogood. You saw four movies yesterday?

(24:41):
Yep, I saw four. Twoof them I liked. Two of them
were all right. Two of themactually didn't like. I didn't like Napoleon.
You saw you didn't like Napoleon.I did not like Napoleon. I
am not. I saw four moviesin the movie theater. Yes, in
the movie theater. Four movies, back to back to by yourself, by

(25:02):
myself, back to back to backto back. I ate a bucket and
a half. I thought I wasgonna get through two buckets of popcorn.
I only got through a bucket anda half and one soda, and I
also had a water by the end. I had a water to make sure
I was hydrated. But yeah,I saw four movies. It was Godzilla
minus one, Napoleon dream Scenario, and then the holdovers. I'm trying to
make my final push in twenty twentythree to make sure I have all these

(25:23):
movies sorted out before I start puttingout these lists to no buddy that who
cares about this. But I justwant to get it, get it together,
get it in order. You sawfour movies in I saw four movies
in the movie theater. Yeah, that's the second time I've done that.
I tried to do that previously.I only got to I think I like

(25:44):
got the two and then I waslike, I can't do anymore, and
I backed out. But I thisthis second time I have done. Four
minus one was the Godzilla w Godzillamovie. Fantastic Godzilla movie. I've mean
amazing. It was because it givesyou, look, it gives you all
the Godzilla stuff, a big,you know, giant monster who can shoot

(26:06):
heat beams out of its mouth. It's great. But there's a nice,
very human, especially like Japan postWorld War two story that that goes really
well with Godzilla. It was justit was very well done. You know,
communities and people coming together and tryingto survive in very difficult times.
It was awesome. It was reallygood assistance. I crided a Godzilla movie.

(26:29):
By the way, I cried ita Godzilla movie. If that tells
you anything. I bawled my eyesout by the end of Godzilla. It's
really good. I just I don'tknow, first of all, like I'm
kind of envious of like the factthat you can can go disappear for a
full day. And it's tough becauseI have to make sure that there is

(26:52):
not even a slight chance that likeyou or anybody from work or whatever calls
me and like hey, John yougot to come in or something. I
have to know for sure it's completelyoff day. There's nothing happening, nothing
going on. I don't like everytime my phone rings. I'm not gonna
be like, oh my god,I gotta get that. It's just I
can I can just disappear. Andif I answer an email like between movies,

(27:12):
I can do that, Or answera text between movies, I can
do it. Which I did.You know, my dad text me about
plans for like Christmas Eve. Itext them and I got an email about,
you know, Christmas thing for work, and I put that email in
if did whatever I need to do, and it was good. But yeah,
I didn't have the anxiety of like, oh man, if I don't
answer that, I like I couldbe getting called to come in. So
I got to make sure it's aperfect day to do nothing. And look,

(27:34):
it was flurrying yesterday, it wasit was cold. I had nothing
to do, so why not justsit in a movie theater all day?
It's it's I It's what I wouldhave done anyway, Like I would have
been at home just watching movies allday, So why not go to the
theater? I have my unlimited pass. I spent. I spent sean brace.
I saw four movies, two bucketsof popcorn, two so and I

(27:55):
didn't drink the second one, andI spent a whopping total and a water.
I spent a while total of tendollars because I've saved up on credits,
so I got free essentially like upgradedpopcorn and soda. So I would
get a free small, but youcan upgrade it for three dollars too large,
which I did, and you canget free refills with the large,
so it was five dollars for thesoda and popcorn, and there were free

(28:17):
refills. I spent zero dollars inthe movie tickets because I've had a limited
movie pass for Regal for the entireyear and I've already made my money's worth
on that. And I spent yesternightnoon to midnight essentially yes noon to midnight,
noon to midnight. Twelve to tenwas the first one. I got
Zilli minus and then the last showingwas eight fifty, so essentially started it

(28:38):
nine ten because twenty minutes of previews, so the holdover started at nine to
ten. I got out of thereand I think at like eleven twenty eleven
eleven twenty. Yeah, I like, I don't know, why are you
so stunned by this? Just poursa little too much, bro, Come
on, man, I don't thinkit's enough. Like I did, I

(29:03):
will admit. When I got home, I tried to I tried to watch
a fifth movie and I fell asleeplike half an hour. I tried to
do five. I was like, you know what it's see if I can
do this, and I got toocozy. I I got bought new pillows.
By the way, I was like, I need a firmer pillow.
So I bought new pillows. Igot these like really firm ones. I
mean, what it's done to mysleep has been just amazing, great results.
Get a firm pillow of people, and how get do you get the

(29:26):
name of it? You should tellthe people. It was just like all
it was just a ten dollars target. No, no, it was just
a ten dollars target one. Butlike you can like tell the firmness,
and I just I didn't want toget the super firm. That was way
too hard. That was like almosta rock. But I got the firm
and it's been really good, Andso I got the pillow, got my
black in was too cozy. Ilit a candle to the Christmas tree candle,

(29:48):
and I was I was way toorelaxed, and I fell asleep.
So I tried for five. Itried for By the way, the Regal
and Brandywine is the best Regal theaterand best theater in the area. It's
the best one. It's the bestone. It's got the pop They will
do the pop the layer the butteron the popcorn. So they'll do the

(30:10):
first like they'll scoop the first layerof popcorn in butter it. Then they'll
put the other layer butter it,and they'll butter each layer, which is
phenomenal. It's always fresh. Someof them aren't fresh. I'm not gonna
call any out because I go tothose movie theaters and I like him,
but some of them aren't fresh. They just sit out there. But these
this is always fresh, warm andbuttery, and it's the best. And
they have reclined seats comfortable. Amazing. Sorry, I went on a huge

(30:34):
tangent about no so I asked Iasked people for some takes on that,
and somebody wrote back, you're keepingHollywood alive. Me and Taylor Swift and
Beyonce keeping movie theaters alive. Thereyou go, all right, let's keep
it moving. Nice work by you. I'm glad you're go see the whole
of us. I think everybody ifout of all those movies, I will

(30:56):
recommend. But if you're a guyZilla fan, which I'm sure you are,
Sean like Big Giant Monsters, yeahwatch Godzilla. But the Holdovers Paul
Giamadi's amazing. But it's a reallycozy, warm, amazing story and very
holiday ish. There's a it's basedaround Christmas, and uh yeah, it's
awesome. It's really good. Allright, let's keep it moving here,

(31:17):
we can move yeah, oh yeah, right, let's keep it moving.
Up. Next, it's sucks somein f L to the grid. Ion,
Let's talk about these games that aregoing off this week. First one
off the board here DraftKings Sports BookPatriots and Steelers. Steelers a six point
favorites thirty is your total game beingplayed in Pittsburgh. If you look at
the Patriots, I think it's somethingthat's that hasn't been done forever. I

(31:41):
want to say, in a coupleof decades. If I'm not mistaken,
that they were able to hold theiropponents to under ten points and they lost
three straight, which is crazy. But you have to ask yourself, Okay,
so New England's not scoring, butare the Steelers scoring with Mitch Trubisky?
And because Steelers arm no, no, no, so is really bad?

(32:05):
Yeah, thirty is your total inthis one. You have to play
the under if you're going to playanything. From a total perspective, there's
just no way he could talk toyour south. I mean, he's the
point too where you could think thathe might be an upgrade over Kenny Pickett.
I just don't. I think they'rethe same. I think they're They're
just backup quarterbacks in this league andnothing special about him. Do we take
the points because it's such a lowtotal. I mean, if you want

(32:30):
to do that, go ahead, and your money not mine, But no,
I'm not. I can't because Iknow how bad if the Patriots are
starting Bailey's appy. Bailey's Appy isnot an NFL quarterback. That is a
everybody makes fun of Mac Jones, you know, for to have a p
shooter of an arm. What doeswhat does Bailey's appy have? Then?
What does he have? His armis worse? He he can't make any

(32:51):
throws he's unathletic, he's not accurate, So I don't know. I don't
know what the improvement is with Bailey'sappy there, It's just it gets worse.
They scored zero points at home againsta bad defense in the Los Angeles
Chargers. Zero That game was sixnothing, So they don't have an offense.
They have nothing unless they can runthe ball really well against the Steelers,

(33:15):
which I'm sure you can, butI don't know if you could be
that successful, especially if the Steelersare just gonna stack the box. Look
if I'm if I'm the Steelers,I just play up. I stack the
box so they don't run. DareBailey's appy to throw the ball more than
ten yards and see if he cancomplete any passes. And with the way
their wide receivers are, if youget up in their face, they're likely

(33:37):
not getting open and there's likely gonnabe no separation. I mean I would
just play him up. I'd bephysical as hell, play him up front,
and dare Bailey's appy to try anddo anything because he can't. He's
just his arm's not good enough. So I think the Patriots offense is screwed.
And with the Steelers, you knowit's mister Bisky is just wildly inaccurate
and bad decision maker. So there'sjust no offense here for me at all.

(34:00):
None. I can see this beingten to seven, six nothing,
six three, nine to three, whatever you want to do, but it
is, it is ugly. It'sgonna be bad. Hmm. All right,
So the winning formula for this gameis two parts and it's you're not

(34:21):
really gonna get rich from it,but you got the DK squares, which
is something we talked about last yearwhere there was no touchdown in one of
those games. I forget it wasa primetime game and the zero zero was
to play and you were able tocash in for throughout the course of the
game. It's a you're you're alivethroughout the course of the game with the
squares. So that's why I sayplay the zero zero or the seven nothing.

(34:43):
I'm looking at Pittsburgh seven nothing.I'm gonna stay away from field goals.
I know three to three is definitelysomething out there for some people,
but I think seven nothing or athree nothing I'm gonna play, And just
for essen giggles, zero zero,I'm gonna have three blocks, seven nothing,
three to three and zero three, nothing and zero zero. We'll see
what happens on that one. Andthen we gotta get a final score,

(35:06):
just to take a flyer on afinal score. What's the final score tonight?
Oh man, Well, this isone of the games. By the
way, you can do no touchdown, you can do a no touchdown bad,
but I can see. I'll saymy final scores. I'll go nine
three, nine to three. Finalscore. Yep, nine three. The

(35:30):
Steelers win. They don't cover thatnumber and they push. But yeah,
nine three touchdown props under two anda half is plus one fourteen under two
and a half touchdowns total in thegame. Yeah, oh yeah, Patriots.
If there's three touchdowns, you lose. Yeah, but how many touchdowns?

(35:53):
If the Patriots scored like season three, I agree, that's worth the
play. Good God, I'm gonnawaste all this money on this got o.
How many I mean, how manygames with them have the Patriots scored
only one or zero touchdown? It'sbeen multiple and they've all happened. And
again, with the the sample sizeof Bailey's appy, he's awful, he's

(36:15):
awful. He didn't score. Theydidn't score a single point. They didn't
do a thing Bailey's happy, andthat offense could not score a single point
off of one of the worst defensein the NFL. And now that you
expect me to bet on them togo on the road. Their point total
shown in the last three games againstthe Colts, Giants, Chargers, all

(36:36):
bad defenses, none of those good. Zero points against the Chargers, seven
against the Giants, six against theColts. There were a lost cause and
Bailey Zappi makes it worse. Idon't know is back Jones starting see tonight
is the night that it doesn't matterit like who cares? They're both Zappy

(36:58):
a quarterback Los Chargers. I don'tknow if they do. I don't know
are No, it's Zappi. It'sZappi. But like Tonight's day night,
getting a wager on this and yougo watch for four movies, that's because
you can't watch this game. I'mnot watching. I'll watch just from the
standpoint of the gambling angle that Ihave right Like I said, I'm now

(37:22):
now I'm investing in this under twoand a half touchdown for plus money.
I'm gonna have these squares and I'mgonna come up with a final score.
Nine to three is crazy. Let'ssee here, it's like it's definitely under
thirty. This isn't going over tototal. This is like a seventeen Uh

(37:45):
jeez, what is this? Areyou trying to guess final score right now?
You're like seventeen to nine seven yearold? I would even go I'd
even go to say nine six, twelve six. I'm going all field goals.
I'm no touchdowns, zero none.I'll tweet it out because I'm gonna

(38:07):
have to dig a little bit deeperhere. You got team totals. I'm
gonna waste a lot of money ontonight's game and watch. We're gonna have
a shootout on Thursday night football andit's gonna be some crazy nonsense and it's
gonna be bs. But oh well, all right, let's keep it moving
here. Other games for week fourteen, and we're not gonna waste too much
time on that Thursday night football game. Let's go to the two big ones,

(38:29):
of course, as far as movementis concerned. Cowboys and Eagles three
and a half, holding steady onthat one, and then the Chiefs some
Buffalo Bills one and a half pointsspread for Kansas City favored at home forty
eight and a half. That gameis kicking off the four to twenty five
on Sunday, the Chiefs and Bills. We haven't really discussed this too much
Bills. With the week off Chiefs. The Chiefs ended up losing to the

(38:52):
Packers on Monday Night or Sunday Nightfootball one or the other. That was
Sunday night. I believe Ony Night. Yeah, Cheez Backer Sunday Night.
You're right, So with this one, I think we're both in agreement where
Buffalo is definitely the more desperate team, but it feels like anytime Cheezs are

(39:12):
starting to get that way too, though, Chiefs are. I would say
they're starting to feel some desperation, especially when the last time they lost,
when the last time they lost twoin a row, it's probably been a
while. Did they did they lastyear? At any point they might have
lost two in a row last year? But then no, obviously did fine,
No, they didn't lose to lastyear in twenty twenty one, they

(39:36):
lost too in a round twenty twentyone. That's what I was thinking of
the beginning of twenty twenty one.The first three games they beat Cleveland lost
to Baltimore and Los Angeles, beatthe Eagles and lost to Buffalo. They
had run, They had a roughstart to twenty twenty one, and then
obviously finished off really well and weregreat. But yeah, twenty twenty one,
they that's the last time they losttwo games in a row. As

(39:57):
far as this one is concerned,if I had to make a play,
I'm probably gonna roll with Buffalo here. Buffalo showed me a lot in that
game against the Eagles, and plusthey've got the week off, rested,
ready to go. I know thatthey're struggling a little bit on the defensive
side of the ball, and youdon't want to be limited when you're going
up against Kan City Chiefs, butI don't I'm not a believer right now

(40:19):
in that Chiefs receiving corps. Andyou know, if this is a playoff
game where desperation and you're gonna letit all hang out, I'm probably not
gonna bet against Mahomes. But Billsare a super desperate squad right now,
need to find a win, andI don't think it's all that difficult right
now to go out there and beatthem in Arrowhead. They're just not playing

(40:42):
great football. Yeah, they wereable to pull away with from the Raiders
in that game at home. Iget it, but the Green Bay Packers,
and I know the Packers are playingbetter, but that's not a great
football team. That's not a reallygood like Buffalo is a much better team
than Green Bay. I'll take theBills in this one, and I know
it goes against conventional wisdom with theunder three Mahomes at home all that give

(41:04):
it the Bills. I'm gonna takethe Bills plus that point half. Yeah,
this is where we're getting to theweird part of the season where you
know, I could I could say, you know, Kansas City has lost
two games in a row since twentytwenty one. Patrick Mahomes is great off
the loss. Patrick Mahomes is greatat home. Patch Mahomes has done well
against Buffalo. Like all these thingsthat would would say, you know,
back Kansas City in a spot likethis, but you know, are what

(41:25):
we've seen and using context of theseason, Buffalo is a better team right
now. Buffalo may have been thebetter team all year, it's just fumbles
and turnovers have cost them a bunchof games. You know, they've been
playing really well, and the numbershave always backed Buffalo as this team that
you know, Luck is eventually goingto get their form. Luck is eventually
going to turn on their side insteadof going against them, and they're gonna

(41:47):
start winning games, and everybody's gonnabe shocked that they are. But I
agree with you. I don't thinkI'm going to bet this game. It's
not see. These are the spotsin this part of the season where they
get very tricky and it gets reallyhard for me to bet, So I
just I'm going to stay away fromthat game in particular. But I think
you're right. I think you're onthe right side. It's Buffalo. To
me, Buffalo is the better teamright now. And I think even on

(42:09):
the road and with Kansas City alreadycoming off of a loss, that doesn't
matter to me. Buffalo is playingreally well. And I think the numbers
have always backed it up, andI think we're finally starting to see the
luck start to turn on their sideas well. So I like them all
right. And then two Sunday nightfootball Birds and Boys three and a half,
fifty two years old, talking myselfinto the over fifty two, and

(42:30):
I know that I think it openedto forty nine and a half. So
that sucks you know, you'd loveto get that number when a fresh pop
down the page. But here weare on a Thursday. I still think
we see a ton of scoring.I'm not really too enamored with Dallas's defense,
the Eagles defense leaving a lot,you know, on the table,
no matter who they're going up againstright now, not being there, not

(42:52):
gonna be able to get out thefield last as far as third down conversions
are concerned versus their opponents last threegames, it's just it's got awful how
bad that defense is, especially athird down. I don't think anything changes
in this one. I like theEagles to win the game. I do.
I like the Eagles to go downthere and find a way to win

(43:12):
this game. I don't know.I'll take that. I'll take the three
and a half. I'll start there, and I'll go with the over fifty
two. Where are you at inthis one? I like the over fifty
two Eagles defense, especially their secondarynot playing well, and they've been getting
beat by you know, good passingoffenses. Dallas is one of the best
right now with the way Dak Prescott'splaying. Dak Prescott has already succeeded against
the secondary before they're much better athome. I just I love the way

(43:34):
Dak's playing like an MVP right now, and I love the way he's playing.
Eagles got to work on some things, you know, and that's there's
a lot to go around there.I do think Jalen Hurts needs to get
better. I think Brian Johnson needsto help him out a little bit more
and change things up in the runninggame. I don't know if they need
to run the ball more, butagain, they do need to change it
in the way things are happening. They need to find something different other than
just doing these RPOs. There's there'sa lot to work on with the Eagles,

(43:59):
and look, they can fix it. I think they're aware of their
issues and then they can figure outwhat's going on and change those things,
and especially clean things up with penalties, clean things up with dumb mistakes.
Especially clean things up and some miscommunicationon defense. That was a big eye
opener, like what are you guysdoing? They had no clue how to
defend anything San Francisco was doing, and a lot of it was miscommunications,

(44:21):
Guys not lined upright, guys youknow, all over the place. So
maybe that can get better, butstill I think Dallas is just Dallas is
playing better right now. So Ilike Dallas, but I really like their
offense. And so you're right, the over fifty two is probably the number
for me to look at here.Dallas's defense could get beat. It's just
when they're at home. You can'tturn the ball over. Eagles have turn
the ball over this season. Ithink it's been a little bit better lately,

(44:45):
but they have been turning the ballover this season, and if that
comes into play again in this kindof game, they know it could get
out of hand a little bit.But I like the total. I think
you're right there is there anything foryou as far as any other game in
the NFL this week? Ooh,any other game in the end. I
will be live a countdown to payout on Sunday, so you get all

(45:07):
of our pats presented by Miles Chevythan the noon on Sunday, let's go.
I think so Chicago was able tokeep it close against Detroit last time,
and so I think this three anda half. It could be bet.
Look it's even money, and thiscould be bet down to three.
But I love Detroit on the roadagainst New Orleans last week. That worked

(45:28):
got a little bit closer than itshould have. I think I like Detroit
on the road again this week. They weren't playing great football, but when
they played Chicago. They didn't playgreat when they played Green Bay. But
it's going to get better. Allteams go through some bad rough stretches,
and San Francisco did the Eagles.Looks like they're going through that right now,
and Detroit did that previously. Ifeel like they got out of it.
In that New Orleans game. Theyplayed much better. I thought their

(45:50):
defense was better again until the end, but all of it looked so much
better. For Detroit and Chicago,it's getting more of a mess, so
I like, I would like toget it down to three just so I
can at least play for the push. But three and a half still I
like it. They were four fourlast week against New Orleans, and New
Orleans is better than Chicago. Sowhy is this down to half a point
from last week's numbers. It's alittle bit weird to me to see that.

(46:14):
And also I don't know if Ilike it, but I'm gonna look
at Indianapolis again. I didn't likethe Colts last week. I ended up
betting on Tennessee. They proved mewrong. I ended up winning in overtime.
But the Colts offense is doing wellwith Gardner Minshew and Jake Browning is
not going to have that performance aslast week. I was hoping a little
bit that Cincinnati would be favored justbecause of what Jake Browning did, but

(46:36):
a lot of that was on Jacksonville'sside. You know, I don't want
to completely take away all credit fromJake Browning because three hundred and fifty something
yards is three hundred and fifty yardsand I think he had more than that,
so that's that's incredible, But therewas it was horrible. That was
one of the worst defensive performances I'veseen all season from any defense. They
were tripping over each other, theyhad no idea where they were lined up.
It looked bad. It was itwas unorganized, miscommunications all over the

(47:00):
place. They're getting beat up physically, which Cincinnati doesn't beat anyone up physically.
That's just stuff the Colts aren't goingto do. Colts aren't a great
defense, but they're not a messlike that. So I think we start
seeing Jake Browning again what he hasbeen. Cincinnati probably only gets sixteen or
fourteen to seventeen points and the Coltsoffense still does well, So I like
the Colts. It's not my favoriteplay right now. I still have to

(47:21):
see what we're at when we getto count on the payout. But that's
one early on that I do like. Right, Army Navy, you gonna
roll the over double oteam are goingto the over? No no, no,
no, no, no no no, why not? Come on?
No? It took everything. Ittook everything to go to the over last

(47:42):
week. I'm not taking the under. No way at twenty seven and a
half, I would look at Armymore than anything. But then again,
the dogs always come out and theyplay pretty well. And yeah, I
mean this is always, by theway, one of my favorite games of
the year, all the time. But it's not at the least it's fun
to lodge. I enjoy it.I love the pageantry of it. Loves
little, loves a little deep, loves a little deep. I do though

(48:07):
it's it's great. College football isall about traditions. This is the most
traditional college football game. Like, what do you like? I'm a college
football I love college football. Thisis truly love the event, not the
guest, the game itself is fun. This gave itself is fun. But
the game gets a little boring, gets a little still. It does.
It's completely fine. But one thingI do hate is this is a ch

(48:30):
Lette Stadium, and next year ofFedExField, and the next year after that
an M and T Bank, andthen the year after that it meant life.
This is a Philly thing. Thisis a Philly thing. It's not
back in Philly until twenty twenty seven, and I hate that. So my
my love for this has gone alittle. I hate to say Downhire,
but man, it's so much betterwhen it's in Philly, so much better.

(48:52):
All Right, we will I willcontinue. On the other side,
we got picks and Roll with Seanand I. We're going to talk about
the end season tournament. We gottwo games coming our way this evening and
I got one play that I absolutelylove. And we'll talk some sixers all
that more with Sean Bernard on theother side. Picks and roll, John
Janssen, always a pleasure, sir. Enjoy the rest of your day,

(49:14):
Go see a movie. Oh Iwill thank you. Let's go Meetazaki back at this
