and sobering a lot of ways.Unfortunately, also came from the funeral a
good friend, and that's a totallydifferent topics like the real stuff in life.
And then but listening to you guysthe first hour has definitely been the
highlight of my dad list. Youguys are terrific, and I do there
were two points of disagree in betweenyou two and and today I happened to

side with Sean Grace. But I'mgoing to say something about about arguments.
Yeah, one of the great partis to debate this stuff. You guys
are serve good together and you don'tnecessarily see things always the same way.
John and I are two completely differentpeople sometimes most of the time. And
John, I gotta see this onyour behalf because when I went to law
school, which at that point inmy life was all right, I gotta

get this done. The most importantthing is as a lawyer, they the
number one thing is they teach youhow to take a side and argue it
no matter what, and and andto be an advocate. And John,
you support your arguments very well.Even when I disagree with you, you
support them well, you know yourstuff. Thank you. I appreciate that.
I'm just wrong all the time,is what you're saying. Well,

your opinions maybe I disagree with,but you support yours and I respect the
hell out of it. Thank you. I appreciate. Well, let's let's
pick up the first one, andno one is saying that he was the
deciding factor to me and Gerald youcan speak on all of this, of
course, open forum for you onthis question. But bottom line is like,
what comes down to the fact thatthe Eagles could not tackle the yards

after contact or there and the linebackerposition was circled by Kyle Shanahan, and
they attacked and they did it successfully. They got great ballplayers, they got
a great offensive line. They werearrested, and that was a recipe for
a disaster for the Eagles' success forthe forty nine ers. My point to
open up the show was, andI didn't think we would go down this
path. Is a guy who wentforgive me what was he nineteen nineteen nineteen

for twenty seven, zero interceptions andfour touchdowns. I'm not going to say
didn't have a damn thing to dowith them winning the football game. So
that's why I was kind of takenback by it. He was able to
throw with accuracy on some of thosewere talking about that. He put the
ball in the money on that one. Speer mccaffe best. Yeah, but
that was a Morrow just completely whiffingon on the coverage. It does it,

okay, but it's not like ifthat's a throw, were here throwing
in a tight window or has tohave this crazy good anticipationment. It was
just Morow had a bad play.No Pennicks Junior had multiple opportunities to make
throws like that on Friday night ina Pack twelve championship game. The guy
could very well be a top tenoverall draft pick in next year's draft.
My companions would not be a topten. He was throwing the ball over
their heads left and right, butbrock Party put the ball in the money.

He didn't have one throw over twentyplus yards like you're you want me
to praise like it feels like whatI be No, no, no,
it feels like what I am beingasked to do is to put Brock Party's
game on the same plane of whatI saw Dak Prescott. To Dak Prescott
did things that were unbelievable on Thursdaynight. He should be the MVP front
runner, but I got a categorizedBrock Party King is the same because three

fourteen, I would not You tookit to a distance to where I was
not trying to take it. Yousaid he didn't do anything. He didn't
though he was being asked to dostuff that was just very pedestrian. Jerald
like, it wasn't the MVP gamethat he that he had. I would
not say it was. But he'snot the favorite now that says it to

me, and I have a fortyfive to one taken on him. But
that was just to tell you thatI knew exactly gonna play out like that.
The guy was on point yesterday.He did enough. They executed again.
I did not think he played thatwell. Gerald. Hell fine,

to interrupt again. My exact pointthough, and here's the thing, I

certainly come down on the side ofshowan brace, even though I hear what
you're saying, John, you're almostlike criticizing him for playing within their system
and playing it almost flawlessly. Andthat's what the guy has done. Football
is such a situational sport. Andcredit to the forty nine ers to recognize
his towns, credit to their coachesthere for utilizing them perfectly. And the
bottom lines, he executed everything hewas asked to do almost flawlessly, and

you gotta give him some credit becauseif you look at the history of the
league as well as forty nine ers, it's like you plug a guy into
a system and sometimes they would dowell. In other places they wouldn't do
as well. This guy is theperfect quarterback right now for Mike Shanahan and
the San Francisco forty nine Ers,which was the same thing with the guy
named Joe Montana starting in the lateseventies into the eighties with Bill Walsh and

the forty nine ers went I don'tthink he ever had to make the throws
deep or downfield. If you canperform the throws that they're asking you to
do, and they turn into touchdowns. There's no way not to at least
give him some credit for that.I get where you're saying that, but
they also didn't ask him to doa lot, so I can't give you
somebody credit in a situation they havein some other games. I'm not saying

that it's it's like this all thetime, but in last night's game,
they didn't ask him if they firstdid they first dropped him back, tried
to have him look down the field. They didn't get anything. He was
bad, he was inaccurate all ofthose things. So they started doing a
lot of easy things screen passes,will routs, the running backs, like
stuff that would make things easier theirnormal game plan weekend, week out.

Yeah, but in that game,like to me, the credit more goes
to Deebo. Samuel was the bestplayer on the field by far. Nobody's
saying Brandon Aiyuk was the best,one of the best players, and nobody
Christian McCaffrey was one of the bestplayers. Nobody saying, Okay, but
they are though Rod Perdy was prettydamn good yesterday, not pretty was fine.
They are because they're saying that Perdybecomes the MVP favorite brought pretty MVP

favor right now, and that iscrazy, do you know what, John,
John, there lies a good point, but but all the points you
just made are true. The otherguys maybe had more to do with it,
and Perdy just executed perfectly. Butyou know, at the end of
every Super Bowl, what do theydo? They not c MVP and he's
always a quarterback and it's not alwaysreally the quarterback because it's the ultimately,
it's not work. And so thisguy, to me, he just executed

what they asked him to do perfectly. And you didn't have to make tough
throwers because they didn't need to becauseall they do is throw the ball a
little bit downfield, like ten yardsover the middle, and it turned into
forty fifty yard plate. Right.But I think that's the most important thing
to think about the forty nine ersis they have players that are just game
breakers all over the place, wellyou know what, and their in lives
because there's no question they do.And I hoped that that was something the

Eagles matched them on because just justlike you know, they've got Ayuk and
they have Samuel, we have Smithand we have Brown and they have a
great tight and unfortunate yesterday we didn'thave them. We're gonna have one today
on the All Pro Green Agent plays. Yeah. But and then running back,
they've got McCafferty. You know,he's a different he's a different person,
but you know we have swift.Unfortunately yesterday are stars and our quarterback

didn't match. There is whatever thereason, a lot of it to me
had to do with system and coaching, and it was very sober and defense
as well. It was just asober in dament sot off the Eagles.
Yeah, nobodys trying to make thecase again. I realized that with the
ebbs and flows of an NFL season, folks are going to need something to

talk about. And he is onthe he's on the radar for MVP.
I don't think brock Party will winthe MVP. I think he is going
to get votes. Like I toldyou back in week two, and here
we are. It played out exactlywhat I was laying out for you back
in week two. John, wecould pull the clip from Philly Exchange,
which I think was going by adifferent name. Then. Anyways, here

we are. Dak Prescott's VP frontrunner right now. Well he should have
been, you know, it shouldbe Tyreek Kill, but tyre Ki should
be up there. Tyree Kill shouldbe right in that conversation, but he's
not a quarterback and therefore he won'twin. No, it's just but that's
look, I think we have tothink about things differently in that. But
then that's what I'm trying to do. And that's me as a mouthpiece speaking

into this microphone like I am herethat that is what my stances here is
that it needs to change. Andso like if that's something that I feel
like I'm seeing, I gotta sayit. I think Journy the MVP in
all the wrong way. Jerald wouldI would ask him to to put his
back up against the wall and otherother games. Not after a guy picked
a part this defense doing what hewas in part the defense. But he

did not he did It's not likehe dropped back there with his progressions that
he was doing crazy things made itwas made to be simple for Jo's hands.
They had twelve two hundred and twelveyards after the catch. That's almost
what seventy percent of his yards afterthe catch. Find the open guy something
that's not in his control. Butthat's it's finding the open guys, j

pass isn't finding the open guy Geraldthe guys there. I wish, I
wish that Brian Johnson was able todrop a game plan like this, So
i'd great, john your point.Your points are good and so far as
you're thinking, he's getting too muchcredit for what he does, but I
also don't want to discount what hedid because he did what he had to

do. And I do get that, Yeah, I do get that point.
Yes, you know, sort ofa double edged argument. But at
the end of the day, unfortunatelythe quarterback usually gets too much credit and
often too much blame as well.But would Jimmy Garoppolo have executed that as
well, you know, for theSan Francisco forty nineers, because they had
the same personnel and it didn't quitework out the same way in the past.
So you know, I think thisguy is he's just the perfect quarterback

at the right time to the system, or at least he was yesterday.
And will see. I mean,your points are good in that other quarterbacks
are asked to do more or haveless to work with. But the reality
is this is a damn good teamand offense and a tough hurdle ahead for
the Eagles. Well, if wedid draft rock Party, we would he
would be a god in this thisbrock rock Perty would not do well with

the Els did not do well.You know whatever, Can we just talk
on an on field sense in thefirst place, you would not do well.
Well, let's let's continue talking abouton the field here, Gerald,
and of course the the number onething for all of us here and anybody
with two eyes, it's what happenedon the defense side of the Well,
they could not tackle and then theycould not play the linebacker position. We
had three linebackers in there that gotcut at one point by the Philadelphia Eagles

and they're starting for this squad yesterday. Now they did add to it,
which is a huge deal. Andthat's where I want to go to.
You feel free to take it whereverway you want from yesterday's game. But
they were able to add Seakil Leonardright now in week fourteen. I'm shocked.
I'm absolutely shocked that he chose theEagles. But here we are.
It's a huge deal. What typeof improvements should we expect could we expect

(11:58):
with the addition of Leonard to thisteam? Oh, he was brought as
a linebacker. I thought he wasdirector of security than the director of security.
No, just kidding me. That'sanother topic we could talk about later.
Look, based on what we sawyesterday, there's two comments I have.
First of all, of course,you can't let her pick the yes.

(12:24):
And number two, it's got tobe an upgrade, right, I
mean so, so it's a goodday for the Eagles because one of the
problems that I felt as with thisseason has gone on is that the weekness
was going to be able to beexploited by good teams, good quarterbacks,
good coaches. And that's what happenedyesterday. A team with a great offensive

coach and a good quarterback sorry John, and great executed so well against what
really the clear weakness of this defensehas been, which is the back,
the whole back seven. And myconcern has been that when they face that,
and when you know it came thetime to sort of face face up
to the face some music, thatthe personnel is just not good enough to

(13:09):
get it done. And so whenyou upgrade at least a personnel, that's
a good thing. And I dothink that through the years, and I've
said this the last couple of weeksshowing it. It's just coming true and
true and this is not and Itold you so. I don't like to
be right about and stuff. Butyou know the old saying it is better
to be good than are lucky thangood. You know, the truth is

(13:30):
it's better to be both good andlucky. And that's what the Eagles were
the last two weeks where they survivedbeing down ten and at halftimes, survived
in a large part because to droptouchdowns at the end of games. All
right, there was some luck inBob and it can and all that stuff
could cover up for the weaknesses.Yesterday there was no covering up those weaknesses.
They were exposed and exposed badly.And the weakness is all right that

in the overall team speed of thisdefense just isn't there. It's not there
to match teams that are as loadedas a forty nine. I don't know
that anyone else is as load asa forty nine ers, but it's just
it just was an ugly matchup.So I'm glad they upgraded. But I
also think there has been arrogance inthe Eagles because they underestimate the value of

the linebacker position, and they havegrabbed people off the scrap eop so to
speak, kause you're white last yearas guys every year they've been doing it
too, and they had serviceable guysand TJ. Edwards and Kaizier white last
year, and they replaced him withZach Kyan, hoping that Kobe Dean would
step in and Nicholas Marrow. Andthere's no question there's been a step back
this year, especially with Zach Kyhamgetting hurt and not being on the field,

to Kobe Dean being heard and nottaking a forward step, and now
they're playing really pedestrian almost special teamtype players as major players, and we
see the effect of it. SoI'm really glad they brought in a guy
and hopefully he's got enough left physicallyto do it, because there's no dat
it's a major upgrade in every way. And I wish there were a cornerback

(14:52):
and safety of the same milk outthere. Yeah, and you mentioned with
linebacker, but I also feel likethe same with running back two. And
I want to just ask you thathow front offices can be run because it
feels like Howie Roseman is definitely he'san analytics guy, right, He's numbers
very well calculated and really like thegroup think kind of thinking around the NFL
with those kind of with those kindof minds, it's usually linebackers and running

(15:16):
backs aren't that good. And thenwe watch a team like San Francisco and
they invested in Fred Warner, who'sbeen excellent for them and is a big
part of their defense and why they'regreat, and also invested in Christian McCaffrey,
and they're one of the best teamsin the league. It's do you
think that is kind of Howie Rosen'smindset? Just how does that work?
I mean, it feels like itis very analytics driven and just that sort
of group think that Howie Roseman isinvolved in. I think you're dead on

(15:41):
to a large extent. For whateverreason, the Eagles have denigrated the linebacker
spot for a long time, andthis was a place where historically the best
Eagles defensive players were mostly linebacker.I mean, obviously Reggie White and company
were different, but the sets Joinersand Byron Evans Is and that Bill even
before that and then and then Trotter, you know, they were there were

(16:03):
great linebackers here. And then theystarted to feel that the linebacker position wasn't
that great, And they let Trotterwalk when they should have known, and
things like that. They've never reallyinvested it. It's an no mistake.
And the last first round pick oflinebacker was Jerry Robinson in the seventies.
And you guys have even heard ofdid so and and and there's a lot
of reasons and and a long timeago when the cap came in and Banner

(16:26):
and how we were masters at it, and remember Joe Banner. Of course,
they they put values on different positions, and linebacker was always their lowest
and and and unfortunately the game evolvesand went from you know, three or
four linebackers and and while the Giantswon Super Bowls with the Lawrence Taylors type

(16:47):
in a different day, now you'redown to two linebackers. But they got
to be fast, and they gotto make tackles. And TJ is not
fastij Edwards, but he made tackles. And now cunning him I was okay
with. But again, you gotstay healthy and be able to field.
And now he had Lar just misseda terrible, terrible tackle yesterday amongst a
few plays that were deficient. Andthen you've got another guy, Els who's

out there busting his butt. Youcan tell he's given everything as he just
doesn't have enough to give. SoI think they've just underestimated. And the
running back position that you mentioned inis that the two positions and I know
this from being an agent representing playersreally well, the two positions that the
guys on the street are either asgood as or as close to being as

(17:32):
good as are running back and widereceiver. And I say, guys that
street, the difference between naking theNFL and not at those positions is so
slim. There are so many greatathletes. Now there are elite players at
those positions that take the takeover,but otherwise there's a whole lot of guys
who have similar skill set and he'lljust feel like, and they've showed it
to some extent, they want aSuper Bowl certainly doing it just sort of

(17:55):
grabbing guys and putting them in doinga running back by committee. I thought
they took a step forward this yearbecause I think Swift is a cut above
that stuff. But you know,they may not agree, and we'll see
what happens when he's free next year. Well, it was a tough loss
yesterday, and that's one of thosethat I'll shock up as Like I said,

(18:15):
I made the case that that wasa perfect recipe for success. And
credit to forty nine ers. Theycame in, they had they had revenge
on their minds, they were dressedin black, they circled that date,
they talked to talk, and theybacked it up. That is a tough,
hard nosed team that if we domeet again and this Eagles team isn't
ready to just go ahead and layit all on the line. And I'm
talking about meeting these running backs thatthe line of scrimmage easier for me to

(18:37):
sit here and say it. I'mon the couch, But that's my takeaway
from yesterday. It's just it's aphysical game. And when you get these
teams far, look it's college.I'm gonna bring up the example of what
Michigan has done in the last twotimes that I saw them play well against
Penn State and Ohio State. Justa physical ass team. They're not gonna
be able to do that against Alabama. Well, the forty nine ers can

(18:57):
do that, And if the Eaglesaren't ready to meet that the next time
that they play, I don't seeany change. I really don't so I
hope everybody's eyes are open a littlebit wider. I think everybody was coming
to the realization that, you knowwhat they were getting, the breaks they
were getting a little lucky. Likeyou said, a lot of these games
could have went the other way.But this was a tough stretch. They

won all those games they lost yesterday. Now it's on to the next one.
So that's my next question to you, Gerald is Dallas this week Sunday
Night football? Are you fearful?Do you think this carries over? What
type of a game do you thinkwe're gonna get from the Birds? Where
do you staying on that game rightnow? Three and a half Dallas favorite
undraftings. Well, it's hard notto be a little bit fearful. And
I was worried, you know,when you face this two game stretch against

the teams that I think are theirbiggest threats. And I don't think people
would disagree that Dallas and Fred arethe biggest threats to the Eagles going back
to the Super Bowl. And soI was like, look, you really
got to win one of them,and it'd be nice to win the Niners
because you had the buffer, youhad the morger, you can lose a
game and still be first overall.And I really do think that the Eagles

(20:00):
need to have the best record inthe conference to go to the super Bowl.
Certainly it's far away their best chancewith the bye week and the other
part. You know so much theway you analyze that football can change immediately
with an injury here or there.So yesterday was bad, but we're still
several weeks away or a month anda half from NFC championship games and things
like that. So I don't getoverly bent out of shape that hey,

(20:22):
this is over, but next weekbecomes even bigger than it already was.
This is a Dallas team that theybarely be first time around, that thinks
they are better than the Eagles,that knows it, you know, for
them to win, and they've gotto get past the Eagles, and for
them, the best bet is tobe able to win that division, and
this is their chance. They've comehead to head Eagles a little bit reeling,
and there is absolutely a blueprint outthere as to how to beat the

Eagles right now, so you know, game planning, film watching and all
that stuff. It's pretty easy tosee how to beat the Eagles. So
this is a unbelievably dangerous game anda hugely important game to the Eagles because
if they lose it, all ofa sudden for that ten and one just
unraveled to where you're potentially in thefifth spot in the playoff picture and a

whole whole different road road that probablydoesn't wind up in Vegas. Well,
said Gerald Colton before you get outof here. Another topic that him and
I were debating big Dom. Iknow everyone loves Big Dom and Big Dom
is winning awards this year, andI'm having fun with it. But at
the same time, my thought processis this, I know he works for
the team. He is the definitionof security when it comes to one through

four PM. There's no such thingas security for those players. Players police
themselves, and if you're not acoach and you're not a player, I
think in between the thirty to thirtyyard line, that's the only people that
need to be there. Dom insertedhimself into the conversation. I'd be shocked
if the NFL doesn't find him orpossibly suspend him for another game because what
he did was out of line.He involved himself into the game. Am

I going a little bit too far? No, I'm just giving you my
take on everything that went down.Your thoughts though on Big Dom being involved
and of course get thrown I didn'tthink anybody should have been thrown out yesterday.
How about that? Don't throw anybodyelse, I'll decide with with John,
it's hard not to throw out greenLaw after after him, sort of
throw myself to everybody silent. Butthat's neither hearing her there. What is

important is to discuss is Big Domand I gotta I gotta mention that he
is a friend of mine, likea like a good friend. I really
personally like this guy. Wasn't surprisewe share We share a lot together for
menus admiration by the same token,it's it's one of those things only in
Philadelphia. I mean, Big Domis Philly, isn't he That's South Philly

And you just look at him andthe name, that's what they've been using
it all over the place. WasBig Dom Delesandra Like, it's just it's
Philadelphia and it's almost a movie.And I've been watching the evolution of Dom
over the years and whether the turnwhat you said something either too big for
his which is whatever the term yousaid earlier He's grown to a much larger

role than the head of security evershould It's one of those roles where it
sort of seemed not heard type roles. And you know, he has a
presence and it's okay to police andprotect the players any other time except on
the field. There's there are peoplethat actually have a job that is supposed
to police the field, and theyare called the referees. And what Don
did yesterday was he overstepped his boundsand he got between players and started saying

things too and pushing Actually the SanFrancisco forty nine player green law that is
so far out of bounds, isso far exceeding his role. Because I
watched them, I'm like this start. I know, I know, people
an ego and and and it getsdangerous. Don is a really humble,
nice guy to begin with, buthe is loved by Jeff Lourie and the

organization for a lot of reasons.And this year, I mean just a
few weeks ago, guys you talkedabout Wayne Wardshawn. I was at the
award dinner. He won the uhBig Brothers Big Sisters Man of the Year
Award, which is incredible and andyou know he's a great guy. What
he did to this era, I'mnot sure, but I know what I'm

gonna call this out. I'm gonnacall this that these dom also is able
to be a connection. Sideline passesaccent. Okay, the guy who is
the execu director for Big Brothers BigSisters just happens to pop up on sidelines
and backstage everywhere. Now I'm allinto charity and benevolence, I really am.

Well, we know how this stuffworks with the connections behind the scenes.
Yeah, you know, you're rightabout that. And I get a
little bother that's in the name ofcharity. Sometimes I get a little bothered
when you use a tier and advantagethat's besides the bottom line, is he
so far oversteps his bounds and nowand and Eagles, of course we're gonna
send him and you know, andeverybody on the line. And even it's

like, you know, the Eaglesfly for autism or whatever they whatever they
call their charity. Now it's alllike supporting that. It's become wayward.
It's not it's it's it's not themessage they should be out there. And
and I do believe the NFL willreprimand them for that. Because when you're
watching games, do you ever seeanother security guy and you can tell who's

who on the sideline, like likethe Eagles have don like everywhere Nick Sirianni
goes dom is there. Do yousee that anywhere else? Not? Really,
it's definitely one. You know,this guy's been around forever with the
Eagles organization. It's like, yeah, then he should be And he's great.
I mean he does stuff behind thescenes that you wouldn't believe and see
the player gets in trouble. Heis the Ray Donovan of the Eagles.
He watches so much stuff. Nowhe's got to do his own stuff.

(25:48):
He is. He is really connectedand loved everywhere, and deservedly so.
But it's also he's become a caricatureto some extent too, and and and
and when that that game is beingplayed, he's got no place. Nick
Ciality does not need security during thegame. The Neagles players do not need
security during the game. And that'swhere it's gonna come down hard. I
also hear that Tory Vinson, whois probably the guy he has a lot

to do with coil shots and thesethings, was not necessarily a down fan
that is behind the scenes record Igot today. Yeah, look, you
know, it's one of those positionsthat you you just want to lay to
me. Isn't that the Eagles faultfor not making it clear? Because he's
he's saying, he's like right thereon the sideline, but he's in the
front of he's in the front roadhere has worked his way. Okay,

Okay, Nobody said, hey,Dom, you're in a spot you're not
supposed to be. Nobody would theybecause they because they're fine with it.
That's the thing. That's the thing. I can't get mad at him mad.
