Speaker 1 (00:12):
Here on a football Friday, and shot to get to
of course open the show up talking about all the
big games in the college card, A couple of big
ones as far as the NFL is concerned.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Of course, we're focusing on that Chiefs.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
And Ravens game. Man, that's gonna be explosive. Eagles and Bucked.
So much to discuss. And of course, as always weekly,
we are joined by one of the best out there
in our space, and he represents the folks over at
TK Network. Of course, I'm talking about Julian Edlow here
on a football Friday.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Julian, how are we doing today, sir?

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Awesome big slate of games the Saturday night of the year, arguably, Oh.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
Yeah, Is there any bigger Saturday Night than this one?
In your mind?

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Because I know you look ahead, you look ahead. You're
one of these guys that are dialed in off season.
You see what the numbers are are the spreads. Is
this the biggest card college football Saturday on the year
in your mind?

Speaker 4 (01:07):
Probably? I mean things could change.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
We could be putting positions late in the season where
there's more meaningful games' Obviously the conference championship Saturday is
always a ton of fun, and those are big.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
Games, although they're a.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Little diminished by the expanded college football playoffs. But for
the most part, there'll be some winning in teams that weekend.
But you know, you could argue all four of no
matter who loses, Penn State, Oregon, and Alabama, Georgia, all
four of those teams could and should be in the

(01:39):
College Football playoffs. But they're still monster games and you
you know, the two winners are in great position the
rest of the way out.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Yeah, we were discussing that a little bit yesterday because
that's a talking point that I continue to hear, is like, oh,
if the team loses, it's not that big of a deal.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
You know, we'll get into that.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Well, I want to know your thoughts on some that
because I think Alabama can't afford to lose to Georgia.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
That's one. And then it's just way too early to
have that mentality.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
But I guess after it's all said and done, maybe
we look back and there's a team that lost this weekend,
that ends up with two losses and still is in
the college football playoff.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
We have it's a it's not a big deal for
Alabama if they're ten and two with road losses to
Georgia and FSU. But then they were nine and three
and got left out last year. So now if they're
two and two, do you want to go nine and
three again? No, So you can still definitely be one
of the best teams in the country and get in.
But now you have that pressure of it's still September
and you can't lose it.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Yes, there you go. I mean, that's the way to
look at it.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
It's not even the end of September yet, or it's
not even in October yet, and you're talking about a
team with two losses. So yeah, I guess if we
were to say, okay, they're gonna run the table, then
sure they're gonna be in there. We'll talk about that game,
we'll talk about Alabama. That is a monster run. But Julian,
I gotta get you right off the jump here on
all things Penn State and Oregon, and this is the

(03:00):
game of the weekend for my money. Of course, with
Penn State being in our backyard, a lot of Penn
State fans here around Philadelphia, College game Day there front
and center, just being up there and how crazy and
special just every single football Saturday is for the Nitney Lions,
and to imagine, and that was my first game up
there a couple weeks ago against Villanova, and to imagine

(03:22):
when I was there that I was just looking around,
going what is this place going to look like? With
one hundred and six at seven point thirty going up
against Oregon all whited out like that is the mental
image I left there thinking like, what is that going
to be like? And I would imagine it's gonna be
a tough environment for a road team to go in.
Not the first time the teams are, the first time
that Penn State has ever done this. We understand that,

(03:42):
but this is a monster game for James Franklin and
the Nitney Lions. Here they're three and a half point favorites.
I look at this game with fifty three and a
half is our total? My breakdown, my handicap, if you will.
I just feel like we haven't seen the best offense
from Penn State yet and I don't know. I know

(04:02):
Orgon's good. I know they are good, They're explosive. I
love Dan Lanning, and I think Penn State's good.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
But I don't think everybody has hit their stride just yet.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
And I don't necessarily believe that in this atmosphere with
all the attention, that it's going to happen on Saturday night.
So if you made me make a play on this game, Julian,
I'm wondering where you think. If I'm on the right
track here in this one, I would almost think, like, yeah,
defenses are going to be at a premium. I think
we're going to see a little bit of a lower
scoring game here fifty.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Three and a half.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
I feel a little bit better about taking the under
than picking a side here.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Your thought's on the game, and do you like where
I'm angling?

Speaker 3 (04:38):
I don't hate the under, but if you like the under,
you probably also like Penn State. An under probably favors
Penn State. If the game goes over, it's probably a
little bit more of an Oregon game. First, let's start
with the coaching narratives. Franklin doesn't win big games, and
it's true to a degree. Bad top five record, Let's

(05:00):
go top ten games. It really matters the expectations on
Penn State. So top ten games, Franklin as an underdog
is eight and thirteen ats and obviously has more losses
than covers. Because you're a dog, so when he's supposed
to lose, he generally does and is well below five

(05:22):
hundred there in terms of covering the number. Not even
favored in a top ten game four times, and he's
three to one ats they're favored in this game. Like
all these losses, I think Penn State is a pretty
straightforward team in terms of losing when they're supposed to
and winning when they're supposed to. It's not all the time,

(05:44):
nobody is, but Penn State's probably about as consistent as
you can be with losing as an underdog and winning
as a favorite. I'm just talking outright. So again, my
preseason handicap here was to Penn State. I think they're
the better team and if you're getting aroun in the field,
go at home. I like it, and I don't know
what we've seen that's changed it too much.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
Now.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
This got bet up as high as six and a
half preseason at DK Sportsbook, everybody was piling on Penn State.
Now it's almost seventy percent of the tickets on Oregon
down at three and a half, and we were.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
Three early in the week, so I get it.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
Oregon ran up the score. You score sixty nine points
against Oklahoma State. Well, Oklahoma State's awful and Mike Dundee
got fired score fifty nine against who was it?

Speaker 4 (06:29):
Whoever? It was okay cool.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
The two games since they went on the road, didn't
cover against Northwestern and then they didn't cover in that
game against a bad Oregon State team. So Penn State's
owned three against this red. They haven't been covering against
the bad teams either, but Oregon hasn't in their last
couple of games, So I think that Penn State might
be holding a little something back for this game. Can

(06:52):
catch the.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
Ducks off guard.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
Penn State ran all over Oregon pretty well in the
Big Ten championship game that they lost. Now that's Dylan
Gabriel with a little bit more firepower on a neutral
field that won that game. Now it's Dante More who's
going to be playing in by far the toughest atmosphere of.

Speaker 4 (07:10):
His young career, going on the road.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
Those things matter. I'm a little nervous in trusting and
Drew Aller, Like Penn State put together a really good
first half against.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
Notre Dame in a big game last year and then.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
It unraveled, and Aller unraveled, So it's not comfortable by
any means. It's not my most confident play by any means.
But I like Penn State. I think they can get
some offense together. I think they can run the ball.
I think if Oregon makes an attempt to stop the run,
Aler will have one on ones to throw to. And
if he doesn't blow it and make bad plays, you know,

(07:49):
the Ducks can be had in the secondary. So I'm
hoping that Penn State can put together a really good
game defensively against Oregon, which Oregon has seen nothing like this.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
Again, Oregon State a doormat. They stink.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
I've bet on them a couple of times. I doubt
not to do it again. They can't even get field
goals and punts in the air. But you still have
to prepare for an in state rivalry game last week.
If you're the Ducks, where's Penn State got the buy
and you're at home? Oregon come across country. I'm gonna
go down with the ship here with Penn State. I'm
betting Penn State, and we'll see where it goes. We're

(08:23):
gonna learn a lot.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
Yeah, look, I'm right there with you on the breakdown.
A lot of the question marks that I have about
Drew Aller. It seems like you're in the same page
with me there. This is a game that Penn State
should win. Right, Everything is set up perfectly for Penn
State in this scenario, white out, undefeated, had the week off.
As you just said, Oregon coming across the country, like, yes,
this is a game that Penn State should win.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
Drew Aller is going to have.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
To step up make some plays, and for my money,
I get it, the competition hasn't been the best. Maybe
they've been holding some things out, but he hasn't been
exactly lights out, and I'm just wondering if they're gonna
be able to get it all going in the right
direct in this moment against Oregon.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
We'll see it's.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
Gonna be a great game. I'm glad you gave us
a play in it. I'm gonna take the under in it,
and you know what, I'll ride with you on this one.
I'm gonna go down with the ship as well. Nitney Lyons.
We got the minus three and a half on DraftKings
sportsbook and hopefully Drew Holler can make some things happen
there going up against.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
Those shocking that you would do that.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
Exactly exactly, all right, let's keep it moving a couple
other games here on Saturday. College football card is obviously
loaded seven thirty kick yeah, man, and it's a shame
that we can't get a little space. I know that
a lot of people are complaining about that with the
seven thirty kicks, but this one's definitely going to have
a screen. Alabama and Georgia game being played between the

(09:42):
hedges down there in Athens. Georgia three point favorites yesterday
before the show, three and a half, now the three,
or excuse me, it changed the three during the show.
Still holding steady at a field goal. Fifty three and
a half is our total against seven thirty kickoff.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
You know, if you just made me ask, I feel.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
Like Alabama can win this game, but I'm not gonna
bet against Georgia in this spot.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
They're home.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
I feel like they're a better team, and what they
did in that Tennessee game made me a believer in
what Kirby Smart has cooking again this season. But I
won't be shocked if Alabama wins this game. Julian like
the quarterbacks playing really well. They got great receivers. You know,
I know we wanted to pour dirt on Alabama in
the beginning of the season. But I still feel like
there's a lot to be learned about both these squads,

(10:27):
but really about Alabama more than anything.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
But if he made me make a wager, of course,
I'm gonna take Georgia at home.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
Your thoughts in the game, though, yeah, So one of
the things just market wise that I think is interesting
in this game, like the look ahead was four and
a half, Alabama catching four and a half, and we
were expecting two undefeated teams to meet here and the
number to be about that. Now we have three and

(10:52):
oh Georgia against two in one Alabama, and it's down
to three. Sharp money is Alabama in this game. Alabama's
the sharp side. We got like eighty percent of tickets
at DraftKings on Georgia, but the majority of the money
on Alabama. So Alabama's sharp and I don't quite understand it.

(11:14):
I am Georgia minus three in this game. Both teams
off the bye two weeks to prep for it. Now,
the Alabama betters are saying they're basing this off of
what we saw two weeks ago. Georgia's offense looks great,
but the defense was leaky at Knoxville playing against Tennessee gave.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
Up a bunch of points.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
So but we're just gonna forget about the Florida State game.
Alabama's beat a no name school at home in the
bounce back off FSU, and then stomped Wisconsin, who maybe
we should be downgrading Wisconsin. They lost at home to
Maryland as a double digit favorite last week, So I
don't know what Alabama has done. Now they're good and
again they can lose this game and make the car

(12:00):
College Football Playoffs for sure, But I don't understand the
notion of oh, we saw Georgia's defense was bad two
weeks ago, so we got to go Alabama. But just
forget what ffu's defense did to Alabama and its only
road trip. So I am of the belief that I
have more faith in Kirby Smart with two weeks to

(12:21):
fix the Georgia defense at home a little bit than
I am that Alabama is going to fix its road
the problem that we saw with it going on the
road against good competition. So I think Georgia will be
better in the secondary. I think they'll have some stuff
schemed up here. I am confident that Georgia can score.
I like Gunner Stockton. I liked that offense.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
We saw them make.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
Some huge plays in the Tennessee game. I think the
Georgia pass rush can get to Ti Simpson. Ti Simpson
looked all kinds of out of whack. You remember how
bad they looked in that FFU game. And everybody's talking
about WHOA, we might have really overrated Bama. Well what
has Bama done since to say like that they've fixed everything?
And again, Georgia's secondary can be had, But that's gotta

(13:02):
be an emphasis for Kirby Smart over the last couple
of weeks, and I think they'll have that fixed up.
Georgia's got a thirty three game home winning streak. The
last time Georgia lost at home was October of twenty nineteen.
And somehow these teams play all the time. Alabama Georgia Alabama,
Georgia Alabama, Georgia. Alabama hasn't gone to Georgia since twenty sixteen.

Speaker 4 (13:26):
Wow, it's been that long. I don't know how, but
all of.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
These games have either been in Tuscaloosa, the SEC championship
game in Atlanta, or the National title game. So this
is the first time for Bama in a long time
going down to Georgia. Good revenge spot off last year
in Tuscaloosa for Georgia. That was a wild game that
Georgia came back and took the lead but ultimately lost.

Speaker 4 (13:50):
I'm gonna trust Georgia.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
At home here and say I believe less in Alabama
fixing the problems it had on the road in week
one than Georgia fixing the secondary problems we saw.

Speaker 4 (13:59):
In week three.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
We got Julian Edloard joining us from the DK network.
Be sure to follow him on all things socials. Julian Edloard,
that's E. Dlow. Make sure you check out this podcast
that comes out daily fifteen to twenty minutes long, DKN
Daily Bets. Wherever you get your podcasts at trust me,
it's a must listen Monday through Friday. If you're in
the gambling space, you're gonna want to hear what Julian

(14:21):
has to say. And a great guest that joined him
daily once again DKN Daily Bets. Everything can be found
on his socials all right. One college football play for
our listening audience that you have lined up Saturday.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
Yeah, outside of the big night games, I did play
Pitt plus four and a half against Louisville.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
Okay, yeah, I haven't heard anybody on this game yet,
go ahead, please.

Speaker 4 (14:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
Pit's off the bye. But two weeks ago they lost
the Backyard Brawl as big favorites at West Virginia.

Speaker 4 (14:54):
They were leading that game.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
West Virginia came back wins the game in overtime. So
they're off a bad loss weeks to prep for a
home game. Pit was two and ohero and their two
home games they beat smaller schools, but they did it
with margin Louisville three to oh. They've played nobody at
home and they didn't cover any of those games, kind
of like Penn State, but you know, they were unable

(15:16):
to open up any of these games. Now they go
on the road to Pitt, they're just one in five
outright their last six trips to Pit. Pitt Fries is
a home dog. Last year they were two and oh
ATS as a home dog.

Speaker 4 (15:27):
The year before they were two.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
And one ATS as a home dog. So for the
last five they've been in this role, they have covered.
I trust Pitt's defense off the buy off a loss
against the Louisville team that I'm not all that high on.

Speaker 4 (15:40):
So I think Pitt shows up on Saturday afternoon.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Excellent. All right, so many good college football games. Talk
to you all day about it.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
Of course we'll be follow on socials, Jew and Patals
players out there as well over at DK Network.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
Check them out online.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
Over to the NFL, though, gotta get your thoughts on
two quick ones. Frea get out of here. First of all,
Eagles and Bucks. Tough place to win. Bucks are beat up,
but it seems like they're getting a couple of guys
back of Suchrist and Werf is going to make his
debut this season from battling back from a rough injury.
That's a huge get up of the offensive line. No
Mike Evans, but we know they have some skilled players
out there. Just a tough, tough opponent. Eagles favored though

(16:16):
in this one. Wrong team favored in your mind, not wrong.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
Team favored at two and a half. You could interest
me at the Eagles at three and a half. At
the pass, I feel like things have to catch up
to Tampa at some point. They're three and zero with
three game winning drive. They're dinged up. Like you mentioned,
they got new guys going out, they got guys coming back.
In that are dinged up, that are making season debuts.

(16:41):
It's just at some point it's got.

Speaker 4 (16:43):
To fall apart.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
But the Eagles have been somewhat fortunate too. How about
last week. We haven't talked since that the cover of
the year, the cover of I don't know since when.
I mean not the craziest thing in the world that
the kick doesn't go in or is blocked for the
Eagles to win the game wild comeback, but to pick
it up and bring it back is insane. You know.

(17:05):
I could see things slow down for the Eagles at
some point in time too. These are two lucky teams
at this stage of the season. I think the Bucks
have been I think the Bucks have been more lucky.
The Bucks, by the way, you can get their in
season win total under eleven and a half. Ooh, is
this a twelve win team? I feel like it's going
to slow down to them, and it starts this week.

(17:27):
I lean Eagles, but I haven't played the game.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
Okay, And in final one Ravens and Chiefs Monster Kick
of four to twenty five CBS Game of the Week,
our next guest, Kyle Fisher, will be on the sidelines.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
He'll be joining us coming up here at the four
o'clock hour.

Speaker 1 (17:42):
Ravens favored by two and a half forty eight and
a half.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
A lot of question marks for both teams.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
I feel like I'm getting a better defensive performance, especially upfront,
from the Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
I'll take Mahomes as the dog.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
I'm just I'm not confident, though, Julian, where are you
at in this one?

Speaker 4 (18:01):
Eileen Ravens?

Speaker 3 (18:02):
But I'm not confident either, and I might stay away
because it's off the short week.

Speaker 4 (18:09):
The run defense.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
Obviously looked terrible against Detroit, Lamar Jackson taking seven sacks.
Detroit really impressed me. I was big on the Ravens
last week.

Speaker 4 (18:18):
I was wrong.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
The Lions were fantastic and the Ravens showed a lot
of issues. Nonetheless, they had a chance to win the
game for the second time this year, and Derreck Henry
fumbled the game away, which is a crazy issue to
be coming up at this stage of.

Speaker 4 (18:32):
His career, but it is. I want to like the
Ravens to bounce back.

Speaker 3 (18:38):
I think that they should fix some things coming into
this game and look a lot better. And I don't
think the Chiefs said all that good by any means,
But ultimately, Ultimately, I'm pretty scared of what I saw
Monday night from the Ravens, unable to stop some runs
and unable to protect Jackson. So I don't know if

(18:59):
I'm gonna get there.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
On it any player in the NFL grabbing you.

Speaker 3 (19:05):
I did play the Vikings in that morning game. I
just think the Steelers are lucky to be two and one.
They barely beat the Jets, get smoked by a good
defense at home in Seattle, and I think Minnesota has
a good defense, and then they win by a touchdown
in New England. New England just said, Patriots said, hey,
here's the game. Five turnovers, a couple of them right

(19:28):
on the goal line and all of that, and Pittsburgh
still only wins by a score the Patriots. I mean,
I haven't seen a team just give a game like
that in a while.

Speaker 4 (19:41):
Like the Patriots did.

Speaker 3 (19:42):
So I think Minnesota's defense is going to give Aaron
Rodgers problems like Seattle did. I think the Steelers, who
have the twenty six ranked rush defense, are going to
get run on by Jordan Mason. There's a player prop
for you rushing yards over and Minnesota gets that win
in the breakfast games. Let's have some breakfast and cash

(20:03):
a ticket.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Carson Wentz.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
Yeah, two tickets and Carson Wentz back to back victories.
They might have an issue out there in Minnesota if
that's the case, but I'm with you.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
On that one. I do like the Vikings as well.

Speaker 1 (20:13):
We'll start things off bright and early on Sunday morning
with that game out there in Ireland. Julian, you're the best.
I appreciate a couple minuts of your time on this
football Friday. We continue to follow you on socials and
of course getting everything over at DK Network, DKN Daily Betts,
the podcast. Hey man, good luck and those plays. We'll
catch up next week. Always a pleasure, sir.

Speaker 4 (20:35):
All right, sounds good. Good luck with the bests this weekend. Everyone.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
My man, there he is Julian Need once again on
the Gambler Hotline, joining us here on a football Friday.
Glad to have him aboard because as you heard, he
knows exactly what he's talking about. And of course a
weekly guest here representing the folks over at DraftKings Sportsbook.
Now let's keep it moving because in the four o'clock
hour we're gonna be joined by Kyle Fisher, who will

(20:58):
be on the sideline.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
We're all things Kansas City and Baltimore. Ravens.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
Really looking forward to hearing his thoughts on that game.
But of course we're gonna focus a ton on the
Eagles and the Bucks. No, Nolan Smith, we haven't really
discussed that this week too much. What's gonna happen as
far as getting after the quarterback?

Speaker 2 (21:16):
Somebody has to step up. The one thing that concerns
me the most.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
And I know he's beat up, but Baker Mayfield running
around making plays with his legs. Is he Michael vickoryincardiated? No,
But Baker Mayfield is a dog. We know that if
he gets out of the pocket, keeps the plays alive.
I think that's only gonna be trouble for the Eagles
secondary as secondary.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
That I do believe in.

Speaker 1 (21:38):
And if I'm gonna place a wager on right now,
I'm going to take the Eagles minus the three and
a half minus the three. Hopefully flat one comes around kickoff,
but highly doubt will get there.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
Anyways, we'll hear what Kyle has to say.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
He's gonna join us on the other sides Daily take
it on a Football Friday.

Speaker 4 (21:53):
