Speaker 1 (00:09):
Friday edition of The Daily Ticket, Chambras riding solo. Hello, everybody,
what's your plans this weekend? Mine? I'm glad you asked.
Not a damn thing. Nothing. Relax and actually Sunday, I'm
trying to play some golf. I have not played a
solo round back in the back in a brace. Come on, man,

(00:29):
because you got the one in before your birthday. I
did so. I played in two outings already this year
and I had one round to speak of. That's it.
I was terrible in that round. And I've taken lessons,
taken to lessons and definitely hitting it better and went
to a driving range a few times. So I'm excited

(00:51):
to get back out in the course and hopefully I
can do that on Sunday. But man, I'll tell you what,
there's nothing, nothing more discouraging for you to get up
and go play around the golf than this rain. And no, yeah,
you don't go play in the rain, understood, But people
that play golf know where I'm going with this. Carts
on path. It has just been raining, nothing but rain,

(01:14):
and if they're calling for three inches one of three,
that is insane. One to three inches of rain tonight,
grief carts on path for the rest of the summer
if they drop three inches tonight. Anyways, hopefully that's not
the case, because Sunday does look good. I'd like to

(01:35):
get out in the course if I could possibly on Sunday.
Man struggling to play some golf this year. That's what
happens when you have two kids. A yeah, about Lord,
thank you very much. All right over to the NBA.
Let's talk about it, because they'll tell you what last night,
we did get a little bit of a gift, right

(01:56):
we want more basketball in our lives. However, if the
Oklahoma City Thunder are going to be challenged in next
year's NBA Finals, I just thought it'd be a little
bit more beneficial, just a tadmint, to have the Eastern
Conference Finals wrap up. And it wasn't the case. The
Pacers rolled into MSG and I'm not going to sit

(02:17):
here and say that they didn't have any interest in competing,
because nobody's gonna believe that. But it was clear that
there was one team that was better. And I know
that the New York Knicks did better things as far
as defense is concerned, that's understood. Pascal Siakam played terrible,
Brunson played great, we know that even played some better

(02:38):
defense as well, and Haliburton played his worst game all playoffs.
So to me, I just don't think you're going to
see that type of combination happen on Saturday in a
game six. As I'm firing up draftings sportsbook right now,
I closed it up by accidental. Let me give you
those live odds here. It was for the four point spread.
The Pacers were favored as the r right now to nineteen.

(03:00):
As that number is a little bit lower, they're expecting
some defense to be played. I would not take the
under on two nineteen. That is very intriguing as you
look that number, because you know, we had two twenty
was the consistent mark as far as the total was concerned,
and then it bumped up to two twenty three, and
then what do we have? We had two hundred and
fifty one points scored in the game. And I get it.

(03:21):
You know, you're looking at what took place last night
one eleven to ninety four. But that was from one
side competing the other one really saying you know what
not today Rick Carlisle laid it out after the game
and why the Pacers weren't able to come out on top.
Well to start the game. We just didn't have the
right level of force, the right level of attitude necessary,

(03:43):
you know, in this environment, and so you know it
was it was a bad start. We never had a
lead in the game. Yeah, they didn't lead at all
in the game period. End of story. Tibbs, of course,
was very happy about Karl Anthony Towns, who played his
ass off.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
I thought he was very aggressive and I think that's
super important. And I think jailing as well. I thought
the first quarter that's hit the tone for the game.
We got to make sure that we stay aggressive and
we have to stay disciplined. I think staying disciplined and
playing with toughness is huge.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Yeah, and Brunston played well again at home. Remember there
were people out there saying they don't play good at home,
they're gonna perform in front of the superstars, all the excuses. Well,
the superstars were all out there, all the Hollywood stars,
even Miles Teller. Shame on you, Miles. You're a Philly guy.
I know you're out there supporting you know, your boy,

(04:33):
Timothy Shalomey and running front row. Very intriguing to see
him front row. He's a big Hollywood star, that's understood,
but he's a Philly guy and he was enjoying the
game anyways, and he had TJ McConnell almost mocking that
row and there's a great picture. But Brunton played well
and he deserves some credit. He's been balling out all

(04:54):
season long and all playoff long. But it was interesting
when they discussed, hey, look when you got to play
better when guy like Haliburton is going off, but when
he's struggling, you know, does that kind of make your
game go forward or lift your game up when you're
competing against somebody that isn't having their best night. And
Brunson was not having that question. I mean, I'm brashed

(05:16):
against the wall, so I wasn't thinking I need to
play better than him. I was just thinking I need
to help my team win. Just on my mindset every
time on the court, just helping my team one. That's it, man.
And you gotta love Brunson's attitude as the Knicks did win.
One more from the postgame press conference, and this was
interesting because Pascal Siakam was annoyed by a line of
questioning from Greg Doyle, who is a moron media member.

(05:41):
And I know that media members do get some bad slack.
I get it. Some deserve it other than others, and
he is one of them. He had a very cringey
moment with Caitlin Clark last year he got suspended for it.
Is very weird. But he's made a name for himself.
He has been a pretty good writer over the years.
I'm not going to sit here and say that I

(06:02):
read all of his stuff, but he has made a
name for himself, and then last night made a name
for himself again trying to dig at Siakam. Essentially, the
question and answer was a little bit longer than a
cut that I have right here. But Doyle's questioning was like, Okay, yeah,
they played harder than you. Why why did they do that?
And he wanted to dig at that instead of Pascal

(06:25):
Siakam's attitude, where it was like, hey man, they're up
three to one. It's a loss in a seven game
playoff series, not the end of the world. Onto the
next and he was clearly annoyed with the line of
questions they played harder than us? I think I think
they played harder than us. You know, loose balls, like rebounds,
like all of that. We gotta be able to win
that bottom. And he went with that that answer, and

(06:46):
there was a little bit of a back and forth
where he's like, all right, what are you trying to
get at? You know, because that was his answer, and
Doyle was like, why, how could how could the team
play harder than you in this situation. It's like, dude,
these guys are professionals. You know they're gonna have their
moments their games, and you know what, We've seen it
happen in game seven when Vacks are against the wall.
We've seen it happen in game one after a fresh start,

(07:08):
like sometimes it's just not your night and the opponent
has the gas pedaled down. And that was clear as
day last night with the Knicks coming out on top
over the Indiana Pacers. Now, as I said, four point
spread on Saturday night game going off at eight o
five pm, two nineteen, give me the over on that one,
and I think the Pacers absolutely roll. I think this

(07:28):
is a double digit victory for Indiana. I think the
New York Knicks need to go ahead and book those
trips to Cancun, start making those golf plans because I
think the Pacers are a better team. You get them
in that home environment and they are going to run
and gun the Knicks to death. I understand that they
played better defensively. You could somewhat expect that type of
performance on that side of the ball on Saturday night.

(07:51):
But the proof is into putting the Pacers are the
better team. And as I said, the combination of Siakam
playing bad, Haliburton having his worst game in the playoffs,
hear it in the story and oh, by the way,
Cat going off and all that mixed in. Yeah, that
that you know that concoction isn't gonna happen on Saturday.
It's not gonna be poured over ice in Indiana. No,

(08:11):
I expect the Pacers to win on Saturday by double digits.
So give me the Pacers minus the four on that one,
minus one seventy five on the money line. All right,
five o'clock hour. On the other side, as I said,
six o'clock, we should have exces into you. If not
is the boys are just delayed. Somebody's flying, They're dealing
with weather issues. I believe that's Matty g So that's unfortunate.

(08:36):

wasn't Maddy g He's normally in the air. Eight thirty

(08:56):

FC Dallas plus one point forty give me the Union
and continue to stay hot. Ten games, unbeaten, watch out
now truly unexpected a great season they are having all right.
Other side though, Hey, earlier today we were joined by
Luke Arcade from Sisterens Bank parkt you're ready for tonight's
Phillies game, and myself and Mark Henry Ju're breaking it

(09:19):

five o'clock hour on the other side. More after it
