Speaker 1 (00:26):
PGA Tour a lot going on. Quick picking on Rory Already,
every single time I go to my timeline, no matter
the platform, it's something about Rory McElroy and oh he
didn't speak to this reporter. Oh it's just like enough already,
and that whole story in the PGA tour, just real
(00:48):
quick on this because it's not mandatory for them to
talk to the media after the round, Yo, commission, do
your job. Make it mandatory. If it's not, then these
guys are professional athletes. They're not gonna talk. They're gonna
walk away. It's they're right, they don't have to stick around.
It's it's it's it's voluntary. But make it mandatory. Your
(01:09):
professional league, with billions of dollars behind you, they should
talk after every round, quick, easy in and out. I mean,
come on, man, it's not that difficult. People are getting
paid a lot of money. Roy Burton to be bad
at their job. It just seems like it's a plague
in this country, damn it. I kid Roy Burton, who's
great at his job. And I love talking to Roy
(01:30):
because you know what, when we talk to Roy Burton,
football season is near.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
Roy, good afternoon, man, it's been to long brace. How's
it been man?
Speaker 1 (01:41):
You know, got a baby three weeks old, Struggling there
maintaining Thank you, thank you man, you know, fighting and
fighting a good fight, trying to do some big things
for us coming up here for all things football season,
and and of course to focus on you because nobody
does fantasy football like Roy Burton. So we got a
we got a big season in front of us, sir.
Of course, the Eagles went in Super Bowl last year. Yeah,
(02:03):
that helps, that.
Speaker 4 (02:05):
Doesn't It doesn't hurt.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
You know, you're always glad to kind of come into
a season with that a little extra wait on your
left hand, you know, the the little ring on your
left hand feels a little good coming into coming into
the twenty twenty five year.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
I would say, you're damn right about that all right now.
When I dialed you up and said, Roy, I want
to get you on the show, this is some topics
I want to hit. I didn't think we were going
to get two softballs throwing our way. And first and foremost,
I played this sound about Sakuon Barkley potentially retiring early.
I want to get your thoughts on that. But I
would like to open up with this the Houston Texans.
(02:36):
A lot of expectations last year with the Texans, and
that it starts and ends with that quarterback CJ Stroud.
All of a sudden, he's got a sore shoulder, yet
nobody seems to be concerned. Here's what Demiko Ryans had
to say yesterday.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
He has general soreness and we're just taking extracosting with him.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
When he's ready to go, he'll be ready to go.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
But I said, that's it for him, like his general soreness,
and we're taking extra precaution with him.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
We're not gonna rush him in anything.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
He'll be fine.
Speaker 4 (03:01):
When at the moment is for him to be ready
to go, he'll be ready to go.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
I think there's a website that like puts a you know,
a meter. Excuse me, it's a Twitter account that puts
the meter on coach speak or not, whether it's true
for or not. Where are you at with that five?
Being like he's being one under person, honest one, he's
lying through his teeth. Where do you stand on c
just drought and no concerns over his shoulder. Yeah, I
think it's probably closer to a four and a half.
(03:24):
It's it's still pretty early. Again when they say general sons,
that's usually what it means. Again, it's June, so I'm
not overly concerned about it. But it's a I won't
say it's a funny situation in Houston, but it's a
I mean, it's a much different situation in Houston, you know,
with with that offense than it was last year. Obviously,
your guy Tank Dell is probably gonna be out for
the year, so that receiving situation gonna be a little little,
you know different.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
Obviously Nico is gonna be the guy. But who's gonna
step in and take all those all those catches that
went Tank Dell's way?
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Who will?
Speaker 3 (03:53):
Well, maybe could be. They drafted a couple of couple
of young wide receivers in the draft. I mean you
spend a you know, second round pick on was Jaye Higgins,
third round pick on Jaylen Noel. You brought in Christian Kirk,
who who's you know, who's a solid hand, not a
great receiver, but he's a fine, fine guy. Those three
guys are probably gonna take the catches. Now, how those
got how those get split? You know, your guest, my guest,
(04:14):
who knows? But I think Nico Collins is still going
to be the guy because I mean again, like Nico
Collins when he's telfy is a top five, top six
wide receiver, you know, International Football League, So he's he's
absolutely gonna be wide receiver one. So for you fantasy
folks out there who are thinking about drafting Nico Collins
in the first round, nowhere is on that front.
Speaker 4 (04:29):
All right?
Speaker 1 (04:30):
Well that's where exactly I was going, because there is
potentially some people out there that could think that Nico
Collins could very well be a number two, number three,
number four, number five pick. Maybe I might be a
little high on him. Uh, but then again, you know,
beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Right. Let
me ask you this though, to start number one overall,
(04:50):
is it as easy as Jamar Chase? And that's it.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
So it's not as easy as Jamar Chase and that's it.
I think you can make a case for four guys. Really,
I think you can make a case for guys I
think you can make. I think that case gets a
little stronger if you're in a you know, a non
PPR league where you know, running backs have a little
bit more weight. But if PPR leagues or half PPR leagues,
you probably want to go with Jamar Chase as the
first guy. Jamar Chase is so good. I mean, like
(05:17):
he was just unbelievable last year wide receiver one by far.
Like he cleared you know, the next next guy up,
justin Jefferson. He cleared him by four and a half
points per game Fantasy points per game. He had nine
top ten finishes last year, one hundred and twenty seven catches,
and he was even better. He put up more Fantasy
points per game when t Higgins was healthy and in
the lineup than when te Higgins was out.
Speaker 4 (05:38):
I mean, like, this.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
Guy is quarterback proved. This guy is wide receiver approved,
like you know, temnit proof. Like Jamar Chase is so
good that it's it's hard to pass him up in one.
So he would be my number one pick. But I
can make a case for justin Jefferson. If you believe
in JJ McCarthy, I can make a case for you know,
Saquon Barkley, if you think he's gonna have, you know,
another year like you did last year, And I can
(05:59):
probably make a little bit of a case for b
Jeon Robinson. Those are the four I had kind of
put in that first tier. But I think Jamar Chase,
I think in most leagues it's gonna go one overall.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Bijeon a little bit of a wild card for me. Now,
I look up a number of websites right in front
of me, and you just brought it up. You're making
the case. You could make the case for him number
one overall. It's got him number three here. Yeah, that
is intriguing. Man. Michael Pennix changes things a little bit
down there in Atlanta.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
Yeah, yeah, better should be a better offense, more consistent
offense with Michael Pennix down there. Michael Penix looked pretty
It looks like a pretty decent quarterback in those three
games that he had last year.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
B Jeon Robinson.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
The thing about him again in PPR League, sixty one
catches last year, right like sixty one catches out of
your running back. Plus he had you know, three ten,
three hundred and eleven, three hundred and fifteen touches a
rushes as well, really good season.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
In week six to eighteen.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
Last year, he was RB one more fantasy points than Saquon,
more fantasy points than Jamier Gibbs, more fantasy points than
any other running back in the NFL. You know, the
last was twelve weeks of the season. So again I
can make a case for Bejeonna Robinson. I still probably
would lean towards Justin Jefferson, but b Jon Robinson should
be an absolutely you know, first three, first four or
five picks in your draft.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
You just brought his name up. I want to talk
to you about the Detroit Lions running back with Jamiir
Gibbs right, Like, why is he not being discussed in
the same manner? Like I feel like I could make
the case for him number one overall? What am I missing?
Speaker 3 (07:22):
I don't think you're missing much. I think people are
just kind of you know, they're not sure about the volume.
You know, well, A they're not sure about the volume
with David Montgomery. B they're not sure about the offense
with no more Ben Johnson. So I think those two
I think those two things probably kind of you know,
kind of make people I want to say, concerned about
Jamiro Gibbs, But you're right, like last year in terms
(07:43):
of points per game, he was Fantasy running back too, right,
nineteen points per game. He was an absolute monster, you know,
when David Montgomery went out at the end of the year,
like he avers thirty thirty Fantasy points per game down
the stretch and David Montgomery was out. So again, I
think more people are just concerned about, you know, how
much volume as you're gonna get and what does that
offense look like Without Ben Johnson quite frankly, frank rereg
(08:04):
now who just retired other center, that offensive line is
gonna take a step back, I would think, you know,
without probably possibly the best center in the NFL. So
you know, without ragging now, without Ben Johnson, that's probably
not the same Detroit offense. So I think, you know,
you have a right to be a little bit I
want to say concerned about about Jamie it Gois, but.
Speaker 4 (08:22):
You have a right to have some questions about his
his his production.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
The do the Detroit Lions take a step back in
your mind because of losing both coordinators. You just brought
up losing the center as far as to retirement, still
have golf, still have Dan Campbell, still got some playmakers
at wide receivers, still got a decent defense. But again,
there are some missing pieces right now from what was
consistent and successful in the past few years. Will the
(08:46):
Detroit Lions take a step back in your mind?
Speaker 3 (08:49):
Yeah, And look, they're playing you know, they're playing schedule
to schedule. That good teams play, right like, you know,
you're playing a team, you're you're playing, You're in a
You're in a pretty decent division all things considered. I mean,
you have you have some some heavyweights in that division.
Are teams who could be heavyweights in the vikings. The
bear should be better, the Packers should be at least
decent in that division. Yeah, Teams that lose both of
their coordinators and in the year, I mean usually aren't
(09:11):
that good the next If you know, the team is
good and they lose both the coordinators usually aren't as
good the next year. So I think there's valid concerns
about Detroit, you know, being you know, as good as
they were last year. I don't know what they're over
under is. It's probably somewhere around like ten and a half.
Ten and a half. Yeah, probably ten and a half.
Ah geez, that's a good number. Yeah, I mean I
(09:31):
probably bet the over just because you know, I mean,
like I think they like, they're just so talented on
offense that it's hard to see them not win eleven games.
But yeah, if you told me they win, you know,
eleven games and losing the first round in playoffs, I
wouldn't be surprised.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
Our fantasy expert, our guru for all things fantasy football
and beyond, Roy Burton joining us right now. Be sure
to follow him at the bets line on socials and
a game time decision. Check them out at GT decision
on X as well. All right, back over to top
ten players just spitball and having some fun year on
(10:04):
June and fourth again, fantasy drafts right around right around
the corner. You know, I can't help myself with sounds. Yeah, exactly,
And it gets the juices going a little bit curious
where we're at. Excuse me with Dallas, because I look
at what again, in a league where quarterback play is
(10:26):
number one, it's at a premium. You need a quarterback.
Teams are in search for a quarterback. Dallas is getting
a pretty good quarterback back. Is he great? Is he
a guy that's going to be a Hall of Famer.
I'm not gonna site here and say that, is he
a guy that's gonna win the Super Bowl? No? But
Dak is a good quarterback, damn it. He's better than good. Hey,
he's very good. So and you give him George Pickens,
(10:46):
which is a huge deal. George Pickens's big body goes
up aggressive. We'll come down with that football more times
than not. But the focus on CD, lamb. Does CD
take a step back for you now with the addition
of George Pickens, the fact that man Dak's back, CD's
his guy. We saw what CD's worth was with those
(11:06):
you know, bottom of the barrel quarterbacks. It was just ridiculous.
He was still putting up those numbers. Does CD take
a hit at all with the addition of Pickens? To you?
Speaker 4 (11:15):
I don't think so. I think you're right.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
I think I think whatever you know, negative you might
want to, you know, tag to CD for you know,
George Pickens being there. I think, you know the positive
is that he was still you know, wide receiver ten
last year, you know, even though he was injured and
he had no Dak for half the season, he's still
again one of the better wide receivers in the NFL.
Had six plus targets in every game every single game
(11:37):
last year, one hundred plus catches in three straight years.
I'm with you on Dak. I think I'm maybe yelling
into a void. Maybe it's June and nobody cares. Yeah,
but I think I think Dak is like a really
good fantasy value this year. Like with CD, I mean,
the running back situation has always been kind of mediocre
during his time, so I'm not gonna turned about that.
But with Ceede Lamb and George Pickens, I think Dak's
(11:58):
a really good fantasy quarterback. And you know, I did
a few fantasy few kind of mock drafts the last
couple of weeks.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
Dak's been available in.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
Like the tenth round, ninth round, eleventh round, like pretty
pretty deep into the draft, and I think it could
be a you know, a top twelve fantasy quarterback.
Speaker 4 (12:15):
I mean, he's not gonna give you a.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
Lot with his legs, but he should give you, you know,
close to four thousand yards in the air, and you know,
maybe somewhere in the neighborhood of thirty touchdowns. I think
that's really good value in like the tenth or eleventh
round of fantasy drafts.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
Yeah, and that's what always happens, right. It feels like, again,
maybe not for a quarterback as as good as Dak
has been, but it feels like as the further you wait,
you'll see some of those quarterbacks that you know are
difference makers. And then I always love this too at the
end of the year, Right, you spent exon to get
(12:47):
this quarterback in round three, and then all of a
sudden you could have got Jared Goff in round twelve
and he put up the same amount of numbers. Like
I love that, Sam Donald, like Sam Darnald last year. Right,
those are the ones that make you just want to
lose your mind. But that's why we play fantasy. Nobody
has all the answers. That's great stuff, all right. So
staying in the world at top ten, of course, the
(13:08):
receivers are are top notch for everybody out there. I'm
really intrigued by this guy because nothing has changed in
my mind, and I get it. Russell is a better
quarterback than Daniel Jones or anything they rolled out there
last year. But still it's Russell Wilson at the quarterback
position for the New York Giants. But Malik Neighbors was insane.
(13:29):
Milik Neighbors was incredible last year. He really is the dude,
Where are we at right now? What is your approach
with Malik Neighbors and knowing what we know about the
quarterback position for the Giants?
Speaker 3 (13:41):
So you know how you know every time I come
on here, I'm usually most times I come on here,
you know, I talk about the one thing I look
at and receivers no matter what, it's all targets, targets.
Malik Neighbors had one hundred and seventy targets last year,
which is what second chase.
Speaker 4 (13:56):
That's unbelievable. It's unbelievable amount of targets. I guess the game.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
I mean, like, if a guy's getting the ball thrown
in his direction ten times a game, he's going to
put up fantasy numbers like he was an absolute stud
as a rookie, was wide receiver eight in terms of
points per game. And you're right, he has far better
quarterbacks thrown to him, whether it's Wilson, whether it's Jameis Winston,
whether it's Jackson Dark, I don't even know. Whatever may
maybe Tommy cullis Culus, I don't even know. Whoever the
(14:21):
quarterback is gonna be, is gonna be better than the
slop he had thrown to him for most of last year.
Speaker 4 (14:26):
He is fantastic.
Speaker 3 (14:27):
He's absolutely, you know, in my top ten for me,
I think he's seven.
Speaker 4 (14:31):
Yeah, he's seven overall.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
Yeah, he's he's in that mix, you know, with the
with the Pookahs and the CD Lamb, maybe a hair
below ced Lamb, but he's in the mix with those
other guys around that around that range. Like he's absolutely
a super super stud. And look, there's nobody's gonna really
kind of threaten him for catches on that team. So
you know, well, he get one hundred and seventy targets,
maybe not one seventy, but he'll probably be back in
the one fifty range.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
And look, like you said, if that's the most important
number out there stat then you know it's hard to
argue because he's going to continue to get that regardless
of whoever the quarterback is. And maybe maybe they might
get better quarterback play with Russ. So I what is
your take on Russ. Is he garbage? Is he trash?
Like again, I'm not talking about winning the division. I'm
(15:14):
not talking about winning the super Bowl, but I'm talking
about competing. I'm talking about Okay, if I think the
Giants have one primetime game, thank you, But if the
Giants played three Monday night football games, will we be
at least interested to tune in to watch Russell Wilson
play quarterback for the New York Giants?
Speaker 4 (15:33):
Well?
Speaker 3 (15:33):
Yeah, because I mean he'll have my league neighbors, right,
you have my league neighbors. And then you know, if
you're a fan of you know, Camp Scataboo, then maybe
that that kind of you know, float your boat.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
To getting Is he gonna get pet for them this year? Cam?
Speaker 4 (15:44):
I think so.
Speaker 3 (15:45):
I think he's probably gonna be, you know, running back
to I mean, Tracy's probably like the guy. But I mean, like,
I think he'll probably get some get some run. But
I mean I think Camp. I think I think Russ
has a ceiling. I think Russ can. I mean, he'll
give you a couple of plays a game, right, like
like we saw it even in Pittsburgh last year. Like
I think, you know, I think I probably would have
stuck with Justin Fields for the rest of the year,
you know, for the whole year. But when Russell came in,
(16:06):
he gave them a couple of plays here and there,
like he still can throw the deep ball a little bit.
Who's he gonna throw the deep ball too? On the
Giants not name elite neighbors. I don't know, but I
think Russ is good enough to kind of win you
a couple of games. That's the thing about the Giants, right,
Like they probably should be in a situation where they
just tank and go like two and fifteen and like
try to find the next guy. Yep, But Russ is
(16:27):
gonna be good enough that they're going to win five
or six games and play themselves out of you know,
the number one quarterback sweepstake, so you know, so you know,
I know, if you want arch Man and you're probably
a disappointed Giants fans, But yeah, I don't think that's
gonna happen because I think.
Speaker 4 (16:41):
Russ is just too good to have them be that bad.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
Look, and the Giants probably should have went down the
road of tanking, and I don't know if it started
last year. Maybe you want to make Davio like Brett
Brown and just approach him and say, dude, we're not
firing you. You're going to be here for the next
three years, but we have to lose. We need arch
manning in a giant uniform.
Speaker 4 (16:59):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
Maybe that might be their best shot, but that's a
that's an organization that just feels like they can't get
out of their own way from what took place last
year with the hard knocks, the decisions, the contract, the
Jones sa Kwan like, come on, man, that's a that's
a badly run, poorly run organization. Oh, by the way,
anytime we do talk about mister Jameis Winston.
Speaker 4 (17:20):
We gotta play this. I know I'm better than this.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
I know.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
I'm like, I'm just praying for the Lord to deliver
me from Pig Six's.
Speaker 4 (17:29):
That's a great clip.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
It is unbelievable that he said that last year. That
might be you know, people were having some fun with
the Madden cover and what it should be from last year.
I think the best one I saw was aj Brown
reading the book love that. That was good. Yeah, that
was a good one. Also the College game Day, It's
hard to top missus Jordaan down there at unc that
should be the true the college football cover. But I
(17:51):
digress all right, keeping the moving Roy Burd having some
fun here as far as fantasy is concerned. We hit
on some top ten anything else that we need to know? Again,
we are about sixty days away from a lot of
drafting being being had. Is there anything else top ten
that you have your eye on right now?
Speaker 3 (18:10):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (18:10):
Let's see top ten?
Speaker 3 (18:11):
You know. Well, so again, the other guys that we
haven't mentioned that are in my top ten, I think
they're pretty much in most people's top ten. You know,
you got Pooka Nakua, you know, Ama Role, Saint Brown.
Those are probably guys that you probably want to have
in your mix. Maybe Brian Thomas Junior down in Jacksonville.
I know Travis Hunters is in the mix down there.
Brian Thomas is going to get again the lion's share
of the targets down there. He had nearly thirteen hundred
yards last year and Trevor Lawrence missed a bunch of
(18:33):
time with that with that shoulders. So I think Brian
Thomas is probably going to be, you know, one of
those guys in the mix for a first round pick.
Not top Timber, right, outside of the top ten. And
I know we had talked about this before earlier today,
but guys who are hurt, like Christian McCaffrey, Like he's
one of those guys where it's like, all right, you
got to figure out where you want to slot them
as far as injuries and things like that, because coming
(18:54):
off that PCL injury, had the Achilles ten to nine ers.
Last year, he was, you know, the number one overall
pick in a lot of leagues last year, right, a
lot of leagues. I picked them in our league, right. Obviously,
he's probably not a first round pick this year. I mean,
I don't think you can can can use that much
capital on Christian McCaffrey, but you know, twelve team league,
you know, early second round, mid second round, you may
(19:15):
want to consider it because again, I think that's going
to be the same situation as last year, is that
when he's healthy, he's going to get most of that
work in the backfield. But the question is is he
going to stay healthy? That's the big question with Christian McCaffrey.
So he's a guy to keep an eye on, especially
when when training camp comes around.
Speaker 1 (19:30):
All Right, I'm glad we stumbled into that one, because
shame onmy I had this one written down. I want
to ask you this, if we do look at last
year with the four receivers over one thousand yards at
the rookie performance with Brian Thomas Junior, Elik Neighbors, Brock Bowers,
Ladd McConkie, Like, is it a significant drop off from
Molik Neighbors, Brian Thomas Junior, to Brock Bauers to laddim McConkie.
(19:53):
Both put up great had great seasons, maybe the best
season the Titans ever had. For what Brock Bauers did
out there in Vegas, is there a huge drop off
from the top two guys to Bowers and McConkie for you,
because those are great seasons and of course if you
had them on your fantasy roster, you got great value
with all being rookies there.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
Yeah, I think I think there's a I think the
first two guys that the Neighbors and Thomas, I think
those guys are on a tier by themselves. I think
there's a slight drop off to Brock Powers at the
tight end position, but like you're right, like he had
an unbelievable seasons as a tight end last year for
a team that quite frankly just had a mediocre offense.
Targets just just an unbelievable season as a tight end
(20:36):
last year. And look he's he's Look he's my tight
end number one. Like he's just like he's unbelievable, Like
he's the best fantasy tight end in in the NFL
right now, you know, one year in, and I think
there's another slight dip between Bowers and McConkie.
Speaker 4 (20:49):
Mccakie had a really good season last year.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
Again, I'm not sure exactly what that the Charters offense
is just so like you just never know what they
expect until like the season comes and now they have
a couple couple new running backs in the mix. So
I'm not entirely sure what to make of that that
Chargers offense. But yeah, I think there's like a clear
cut tier one between those guys.
Speaker 4 (21:08):
The first two guys.
Speaker 3 (21:09):
I think Bowers is probably like, you know, mid second
round type of guy, and I think probably later in
the second round, you know, early third round.
Speaker 4 (21:15):
I think that's where you probably probably draft McConkey.
Speaker 1 (21:18):
Strong, strong rookie class at the wide receiver position slash
tight end. With Bowers last year you look at some
of these names again, Marvin Harrison Junior.
Speaker 4 (21:26):
All right, right, weren't even talking about Harrison, right, It's.
Speaker 1 (21:29):
Like, wow, Xavier Worthy, of course, Keon Coleman up there
in Buffalo. A lot to like from that class. All right,
let's continue with the fantasy discussion. And I want to
ask you, all right, so as we are here now
with a training camp coming up, you know, there's still
a lot of a lot of hot air out there.
This guy's this whatever, and I don't even know if
(21:50):
I'm gonna trust the OTAs and a training camp, but
you know, we tend to get our information from places
that we do trust, and we'll go with our instincts
after that. Is there's somebody that was maybe a rookie
or a new player that's in a new spot, or
just a new coach came in and you feel like
he's going to change things up, so you have your
(22:10):
hot eye on that player. Is there a player or
two that you can't wait to hear more about how
they're being used in training camp and maybe preseason as
well that we should be, you know, with our ear out,
just listening and seeing and and and of course reading
what's being written as far as ex player, is there
a player or two that you would recommend right now
that we need to be paying attention to.
Speaker 4 (22:31):
Yeah, I would probably.
Speaker 3 (22:32):
Again we were just talking about the Chargers, I would
probably pay attention to that backfield situation. You know, Naji
Harris is, you know, the veteran in that backfield, but
Omaion Omaian Hampton, the rookie, there's a lot of buzz
around him, you know, taking that number one job, the
number one spot as a lead as a lead back
in that charges backfield. So that's that's a That's when
I'm I'm kind of leaning towards like looking you know,
(22:54):
maybe I can you can slide in and a Marion Hampton.
Speaker 4 (22:56):
He probably won't be a super high draft pick.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
And mostly so I don't think people or kind of
locked into the Chargers running back situation, but I think
he might be a good value pick there and just
stayed with the running backs. Travion Henderson in New England,
the Patriots do not seem enamorate with remondro Sevenson at all,
like whatsoever. And quite frankly, I mean I don't know,
I don't know why they should be because he has
three point nine carries yards per carry last year four
(23:20):
point yards you know per carry, four point zero yards
per carry a year before. He's just not a game
breaking running back. He's a solid guy who'll get you
fifty sixty yards, but he's not the dynamic kind of
running back. So I think Travion Henderson. I don't know
if he's gonna take the job entirely, but it might
be a situation where, like, you know, like Devon A.
Chan's like rookie year where he kind of takes a
pretty decent, you know, load away from you know, like
(23:41):
Raheem Moster, like he did to rahe Moster down in Miami.
I think it might be that kind of situation with
Henderson in New England where he might be able to
be a RB three on some of your fantasy teams
if he gets enough work.
Speaker 1 (23:53):
Naujie Harris seems like he'd be a horrible type of guy. Yeah,
and I'm speaking and I'm speaking specifically goal line like
he's going to get touchdowns, right, mm hmmm. I don't know,
I think.
Speaker 3 (24:11):
So, but it's like, you know, the like the Gus
Edwards JK. Dobbins situation, Like they've had guys who were
kind of fit, you know, like like the Gus Edwards
was the guy who with JK.
Speaker 4 (24:19):
Dobbins was the guy that he got hurt.
Speaker 3 (24:20):
Like I think we know the car Ball guys, but
like like there's just some curtain times where either guys
get hurt or just like they've kind of fall out
of favor, you know, and in the in LA and
you know, another guy just gets the bulk of the work.
So I think, I mean, I think Marion Hampton is
the more dynamic guy, So I think he's probably gonna
gonna again at least get maybe some of that the
third down work. Maybe not just Harris is the goal
(24:41):
line guy, but I think maybe the you know, the
third down you know action goes more more to Hampton
than Harrins.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
And shout out Jalen Rager. Still catching a check. He's
on a depth chart. He's on the depth chart for
the Chargers third receiver. There uh full twelve targets last year.
Nice worked by Jalen Rager. And he's not quite the
elite neighbors, but you will get this. We'll get there,
all right, Carief, All right, talk to me about rookies, right, Yes?
Speaker 4 (25:09):
Who is? Yes?
Speaker 1 (25:10):
Who is just starting end with like what is the rookie?
Who is the rookie? How high are we talking about
drafting these rookies? Where do we start when we when
we look back at what took place of course just
albeit in April in Green Bay, and then hit the
fast forward button. Training camp happens again. Kind of like
we're the similar question. I just asked you, what are
you paying attention to for the rookies? Where does this
(25:30):
start for you?
Speaker 3 (25:31):
Listen, it starts and ends with Ashton Genty, right, Like
I'm usually one to kind of like pull people off
the ledge when it comes to the rookies. Not I
get too hype when it comes to these rookies, Like
Ashton Genty's like he's just stud Like he's absolutely an
absolute beast. Like he slow what he did in college,
he should get the pulk of the work. And you know,
out there in Vegas, even with Rahem Moster, I don't
(25:55):
think there's much, you know, like no reason why he
won't get seventy percent of the snapstot thing, you know,
even as a rookie. Wow, and look you have Bowers
who we talked about, Jacobe Meyer. So again people don't
talk about you had a thousand yard season as wide receiver.
So they have targets who can kind of like you know,
alleviate some of the issues so he doesn't have to
see like stack boxes all the time. But in Vegas,
(26:16):
you know, you know, with Pete Carroll, with that Chip
Kelly offense, if you want to take you know, Asha
Genty and you know the you know, early middle second
rounding of drafts, I want to be upset with it.
I think he's gonna have a really really good rookie season.
Tier one, Tier two. I think he's I think he's
these are RB one. I think he's RB one caliber guy.
(26:38):
I mean, like I probably wouldn't take him in the
first round, but I mean like if i'm if I'm
thinking about you know him or Jonathan Taylor, you know
or him or you know, Josh Jacobs or something like that,
I probably roll the dice and go with him.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
Him or Derrick Henry.
Speaker 3 (26:53):
Derek Henry. I'm in love with Derek Henry. Yeah, we
like we don't talk. We're not talking about Derek Henry.
You're alive tear enough, right, Like Derek, we had nineteen
hundred yards last year, right, sit eighteen eighteen total touchdowns.
Speaker 4 (27:05):
We don't even talk about.
Speaker 3 (27:06):
No, it's like, yeah, if he had, like if you
had eighty more yards, we'd have the same conversations that
we had that we had about Sakuon Barkley, right, Like
another two thousand yard seasons for Derrick Henry.
Speaker 4 (27:17):
Don't even talk about the dude.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
I'm like this guy, like like, Derrick Henry just literally
had eighteen touchdowns and nineteen hundred yards and went under
the radar. Like I don't understand it, Like I don't
get it. Derrick Henry, to me, absolutely fantastic running back.
First round pick, should be a first round fantasy pick.
I don't even talk about the dude. Like we spend
a lot more time talking talking about other guys.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
Right, So when it comes to running backs, I know,
I asked you number one overall pick, and you said,
you can make the case for the first running back
taken off the board. You could make the case for Saquon. Yeah,
you can make the case for Derrick Henry.
Speaker 4 (27:53):
I can make the case for Derrick Henry. I don't see.
Speaker 3 (27:56):
I just think there's gonna be a little bit of
more regression to the mean for probably both sa Quon
and Derrek Kenry, like say, like these two guys had
literally historic seasons, right, Like, say, Quon, you know we
know about.
Speaker 1 (28:06):
Yeah, so you said Bijon, So that's my fault. So
you can make the case for Bijon being number one
overall running back to select the ihead of Saquon ahead
of Derrick Henry.
Speaker 4 (28:17):
I had a Saquon he ahead of Derek Henry.
Speaker 3 (28:18):
Yeah, And it is just because again I think again
Bjeon's you know, growth from year one year two again
we saw we saw statistically should be a better offense
at least a more more coherent offense with with Penix
back there, and again I think there might be a
little bit of a regression to the mean with sa
Quon and Derrick Henry. Again one run run ran for
two thousand yards, one ran for nineteen hundred yards. It
(28:40):
probably won't repeat that success next year, right, so you
know if they kind of come back a little bit
to the pack and Bjeon Robinson you know, gets ten
percent better, fifteen percent better. Again, this is a man
who had was sixty three sixty one catches last year,
Like he can put up twenty fantasy plaints per game
and wouldn't you know, cause me to blake and I.
Speaker 1 (28:58):
All right, Roy Burton at the BS line on all
things socials will end on this. We haven't even talked
about the quarterback position, but we are now and we're
gonna talk about Jaellen Hurts. Yeah, and you know, I
don't know what the numbers are, Like, I get it
with Josh Allen, and Josh Allen was the guy last year, right, Lamar.
We just spoke about how great the Baltimore Ravens offense is.
(29:20):
I think mister Jaden Daniels could have something to say.
I think that's a little risky from an Eagles perspective,
but whatever, you know, I think somebody said that their
their schedule is gonna be a hell of a lot tougher.
There are some things that went a lot in their
favorite last year. Maybe that doesn't happen, But the kid
is the truth. He's damn good. So I get it
from that perspective. But when I'll use a similar question
(29:41):
I just used it about the running back. Number one
quarterback for you, is it still Josh Allen?
Speaker 4 (29:47):
Yeah? For me, it's Josh Allen.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
Every year I try to talk myself out of Josh
Allen that as a number one quarterback. But he's literally
been either the first or second best fantasy quarterback.
Speaker 4 (29:58):
In each of the last five years. All right, he
was actually he was actually quarterback too.
Speaker 3 (30:01):
Last year Lamar Jackson was actually quarterback one fantasy wise,
you know, because he had forty one touchdowns. Yeah, so
so so God bless Lamar Jackson. But to me, I
think it's I think it's Josh Allen again. Like I
Josh Allen is just an me. They're both aliens, him
and Lamar, But I mean he's just so good like
that was. Last year was the year the Bills were
supposed to take a step back, sure, and Lamar and
(30:23):
Josh Allen went out and won the MVP with a
much worse not much worse, significantly worst wide receiver corps
or receiving core than he had last year, and with
a running back who led the league in rushing touchdowns. Right, So,
James Cook led the league in rushing touchdowns and Josh
Allen still won MVP as a quarterback. So I can't
talk myself out of Josh Allen. But if you, if
you told me, you know, flip a coin. Josh Allen,
(30:43):
Lamar Jackson. I take either one as the first quarterback
over I would I wouldn't complain. I apologize.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
You said, what about James Cook He led the league
in rushing touchdowns, led the league in rushing touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
Yes, really, yeah, yeah, I did not know that. Eighteen
eighteen total touchdowns, Yes, I think sixteen rushing. Yeah, how
about that?
Speaker 4 (30:58):
All right?
Speaker 1 (30:58):
So to Jalen Hurts and the tush push remains baby,
and it's still gonna be front and center for this offense.
He's going to be a focal point for jailing Hurts.
Mark Carey is gonna be banging the drum for jailing
Hurts anytime touchdown passion checks from from Game one against
the Cowboys until hopefully they play in February. Where's the
super Bowl this year? Uh, that's a good question.
Speaker 4 (31:20):
I'm not sure.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
Damn the super Bowl there? I think San Francisco.
Speaker 4 (31:28):
That sounds right, that sounds right, Yeah, I think it's
San I think you're right.
Speaker 1 (31:32):
Wow, I don't know where the super Bowl is Levi Stadium.
I pulled that out of my ass, all right. Yeah,
nice work there. All right, So Jalen Hurts, Yes, when
we start talking about the quarterback position, you just named
the two you got, Lamar, Josh Allen, whatever you want
to do, vice versus, It's fine. Where are we at
when we start getting into Jailingen Hurts territory? Should we
be reaching because you know what you're going to get.
(31:53):
You're going to get touchdowns. Yeah, you're gonna get touchdowns
for me.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
He's quarterback for he's like like a baby, like like
he's like, so there the top two guys, I think
they're on their own tier. A hair below those guys
is jayde Daniels. Jayde Daniels is legit. Jayde Daniels had
had almost nine hundred rushing yards last year. I didn't
realize that, so I looked at the numbers earlier this
week he had eight hundred and ninety one rushing yards
and six touchdowns. I think Jane Daniels again, I think
(32:19):
even you know, with you know, harder schedule and you know,
more more eyes on them, I think the Commanders, you know,
are still gonna be a pretty decent team and a
better receiving core now because he was he was throwing
to Zach Hurtz like ninety eight times last year. I
think Jaydan Daniels is gonna is gonna be I think
he's a hair below those guys fantasy wise, but I
think a hair below him is Jalen Hurts.
Speaker 4 (32:37):
I mean, they're basically on the same tier.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
You're gonna get touchdowns, you're gonna get, You're gonna get
a decent amount of rushing yards. You're gonna get you know,
you're gonna get passing yards. I mean, Jalen Hurts, he's
not He's a guy you don't have to worry about, right,
He's a plug and play guy. He's pretty consistent, you know,
not gonna throw from most you know, most weeks. He's
not gonna give you that four hundred yard four touchdown
game like a Joe Burrow. But I mean he's gonna
give you, you know, you know, you know two twenty you know,
(33:00):
you know, a couple couple passing touchdowns, one of two
passing touchdowns and at least one on the ground.
Speaker 2 (33:04):
You know.
Speaker 3 (33:05):
So he's gonna give you twenty to twenty two Fantasy
points per game just about every week. So yeah, So
Jalen Hurts is right right in that mix with with
those other guys.
Speaker 1 (33:13):
Oh man, I love it. So that's what I want
to see huh man, that's what we wanted to see.
Right around the corner, birds will be kicking off against
the Cowboys, dropping a banner. Make sure you're checking out
tickpic and everything they have to offer to get to
that game and all the concerts and sporting events moving
a forward. Tickpck dot com download you up now. All right,
great stuff, Roy, and we just look we the tip
(33:34):
of the iceberg. We haven't even got into like so
many other questions I have, like the bow Knicks conversation. Mahomes. Yeah, well,
the Holmes could be one of those guys.
Speaker 4 (33:43):
Now.
Speaker 1 (33:44):
I might be, you know, bloviating a little bit too
much here, but Mahomes could be one of those guys
that you can get at a later round. Maybe maybe now.
Speaker 3 (33:51):
Maholmes is the guy. No, Mahomes is one of those guys,
maybe not later just because of the name. Bow Knicks
is a guy. And I'm sure we'll talk about Bowe
Nix is on my list. Man, We don't, dwike, why
are we not talking about bow Knicks? He had like
was it twenty twenty eight touchdowns? Like twenty nine touchdowns
last year and he ran for four more and he
had four and thirty yards.
Speaker 4 (34:08):
Like bo Knicks is really good.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
Like rookie quarterbacks shouldn't be throwing the twenty nine touchdowns,
you know, Like like bo Knicks, he had a really
good season.
Speaker 4 (34:16):
I can guarantee you.
Speaker 3 (34:18):
I guarantee you in ninety percent of fantasy league this year,
bo Nix will go in like the eleventh or twelfth
round at the highest bow Knicks can win. You can
win you a league. Oh yeah, he throws for twenty
nine touchdown passes. So he's absolutely on the list of
guys you should consider it as a.
Speaker 1 (34:34):
Quarterback one top ten quarterback fantasy.
Speaker 3 (34:38):
I'm not there yet, but get back, get back to
me in like a month or two. I'll probably talk
myself into it. Yeah, I love it, Roy, great stuff.
Speaker 1 (34:46):
As always, man, fantasy football season is finally year. Of course,
we're gonna be buying all those magazines getting ready the
beach season summertime. As matter of fact, it's the hottest
day of the year right now in the Dollar Valley,
beautiful and Roy was spitting some hot fire there all
things fantasy football at the BS line. Great stuff, Roy,
look forward to kicking button taking names with you this
(35:07):
year on all things fantasy and beyond on the Gambler.
Appreciate a couple of minutes. Let's do it again next week. Man,
let's go. It's our time to shine. Now, let's go.
Sounds good, brace go birds, my man as always Roy
Burton with the Go Birds on the way out, joining
us on the Gambler stream. Be sure to follow on
all things socials GT decision as well. All right, keeping
(35:27):
it moving here once again, PGA Tour. We're gonna talk
a little bit. PGA Tour coming up at five o'clock
with the boys and girls from swinging and ding it.
I gotta get my one and done player in hmm,
that's right. I got that update or the reminder as
I did pretty good. Let's check out that weekly standings.
Speaker 4 (35:48):
Here real quick.
Speaker 1 (35:49):
Let's see. Let's see it because they are north of
the border in the Canadian Open, I saw Roy McRoy
talking about it. But then the memorial, I was the
only one that had Stepstraca. How about that five under
three people had Coachman.
Speaker 4 (36:04):
Damn it.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
Jonathan Coachman's in this league. Uh he went minus ten
Scottie there, nice work by him on that one. But
Stepstraka man, I was the only guy to had it.
Let's check out the standings for the season standing, swinging
and ding it and I'm just I'm not moving or
is that previous? Oh that was previous? I am moving
(36:26):
all right, I'm thirty third. I was I was forty
second last week. I'm now thirty third. Got no shot
at winning this thing. His coachman is top dog there. Wow,
Shandershell again still didn't put a play in. What a
lead he was able to create by just playing the
thirteen events that he did. We'll see what he has here.
Slash top ten, Kyle Slash not a maker in the mix?
(36:50):
How about that? Sports fans, Moose is eleventh and the
swinging and ding it one and done league. Nice work.
Next week we will have the US Open, so we'll
be talking a lot of golf over the next week
right here on the daily ticket Slash swinging and ding it.
But I don't know who I'm going to go with
for the Canadian Open. I have to listen to Moose
(37:12):
amazing Danielle coming up at five o'clock. See if they
can give me some edge or steering in the right direction,
because again with the one and done, it's really easy
if you have if you don't know what we're talking about,
you play a golfer. Once you use them, they're gone
for the season. So you know, you want to hear
those names people that are, you know, really adamant about
(37:33):
ex golfer and believing you know some of the stats
that are out there, and then you go with the
gut and hope that everything works out for you, makes
the cut, so on and so forth. But it's been
a fun year and did not get off to a
good start, that's for sure. But I've been doing all
right lately, so hopefully we can stay high here in
the world of PGA golf. Staying hot, it's what it's
all about. On the daily ticket other side, we'll talk
(37:55):
about some Major League Baseball to close up shop again.
Philly's back in action. We'll go over those numbers and
I got some good, good responses here, and I don't
think socials as far as expectations for Mick Abels start
number two in the Phillies' uniform this evening, North of
the Border. Some North of the Border bets coming your way.
On the other side, Phillies minus one fifteen Delhi Taket
(38:15):
rolls on worth this
