Speaker 1 (00:00):
The NBA playoffs are here, and nobody has you covered.
Like the Gambler Gang. We don't just watch the playoffs,
we bet the hell out of them. Oh lord, hey,
now daily take them with you here, Chabry Chabinar coming
down to home stretch. Oh yeah, man, a little funk town,
a little funk town. Took a golf lesson for the
(00:23):
first time in forever yesterday. How about that Shabinard?
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Yeah, I like him playing eighteen tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
Oh nice, hey, coming up in a little bit in studio, Yanni,
This girls on the way doing big things. Yanni the band.
She's gonna tell us all about how she got hooked up,
the NFL Draft, American Idol, all that and more in
the studio. Back over to the sports conversation once again, Phillies,
(00:50):
though in action this evening, we did have a lot
of day games. I didn't even up take that yet.
Let's go ahead and pull up the out of town
scoreboard here, But are a lot of day games. Gave
it a Dodgers last night and a laugh from fifteen
to two. Wasn't able to really dial in too much today.
Was intrigued by that Braves and Colorado Rockies. You and
(01:12):
I were talking about how bad the Rockies were. They
ended up losing again. They have four wins on the season,
four wins.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
Currently winning in the bottom.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
Of the six. Oh about that sports fans winning against
the Atlanta Braves. I swear I was thinking to myself
that this could be a Rockies play here today. But
never in a million years would I have wagered my
hard earn money on it. But it was one of
those games that I did think maybe it could be
the Rockies here in a day game spot. They are
up two to one here in the bottom of the six.
(01:42):
Astros and Tiger's a pretty good game yesterday. Tigers are
currently leading seven to four. Tiger's been playing well man
eighteen to twelve on this season. Maybe last year at
the end of the season wasn't a fluke there, Dodgers
up on the Marlins, no surprise, they're twenty or the
twenty four twenty ten out of season. Four to two
is your score right now? And then Giants and Padres,
really good game last night. Padres currently up one to
(02:04):
nothing against the Giants here in the second inning once again.
Phillies and Nationals Game two. Christopher Sanchez on the mound
anytthing got your attention for tonight's game.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
Nothing too crazy.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
I'm still certainly locked in in basketball mode for the
time being. I have been sprinkling a little bit on
the Johann Rojas hits. He has been hitting the ball well,
and that number you can get pretty rarely in the MLB.
Can you get even money for a guy to get
a hit, and Rojas you can pretty regularly. So I
do think that's a fun one to play with the
total bases, to take a peek at some of the
numbers for this specific game. And by the way, Luke
(02:36):
Arkany did infemost Christopher Sanchez no restrictions on how he's pitching.
So I know you talked about the strikeouts early. I
don't hate that number at five.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
Five and a half. Yeah, I think you got to
get involved with it.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
Yeah, I don't hate that.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
And let me see if that moved since that news
came out of his not so still sitting at five
and a half five and a half, so decent value there.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
I don't mind taking a swing on a home run.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
I do feel like the bats come alive today to
take my pick and call my shot for that, I'm
going right to the man Kyle Schwarber here, so not
ever the largest.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
Payout when looking at the home run number.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
But for Kyle Tonight pulling up, he's looking at plus
two point fifty five for a home run.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
I think that's worth to take all right.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Once again, Sean Minard doing a great job representing the
squad over there at DraftKings Sports Book and Sean, we
do have a busy weekend in sports. Do you know
that it's the Kentucky Derby this weekend? Sir?
Speaker 3 (03:24):
I did not until you informed me.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
Oh yeah, loved the bugles. Love this time of year,
horse racing season. I do want to say that Dick Girardi,
Mike Kern, John Jansen, Kyle Slash not a maker. Live
from Park Sports but Casino on Saturday a must listen
during the UH Trifecta. No matter the horse race, nobody
(03:49):
knows more than Dick Girardi. So Live from Parks is
gonna be a fantastic listen on Saturday. But I figured
why not have some fun here because at the end
of the day, that's what it's all about. It's about
getting involved with the horse race, trying to pick a winner.
You know, Look, I'll love and respect to the professionals.
They handicap this stuff for a living. They're on a
different stratosphere for people like us that tune in. Go
(04:12):
you know what I'm gonna watch. I want to bet,
I want to be involved. I want to fire, I
want to hear. I want to hear the bugles go off.
I want the juices. Right. I don't care how you
pick a horse, just get involved, have some fun with it.
Get involved, that's right. So yesterday they revealed the silks.
Do you know that? That's what they call them? Their
(04:33):
their silks? What the jockeys were? I did not know
that either. And there were two guys that I xed
off my radar. Both of them were thirty to one.
One silk was a Dallas Cowboy Capital D on the back.
I can't bet that guy. And then the other one
was New York Nick Colors and I'm automatic no, I'm
(04:55):
out of that slash. New York Mets Colors. Of course,
might rolling ankle. I like it. I like it. Nice
work there by you, sir. With that being said, let's
pull up the Kentucky Derby odds post positions here and
have some fun with the names. Hit me all right
number one at the post position, citizen bull.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
And just obviously I'm well informed in the Kentucky Derute
the post position meaning the.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
Leader, post position meaning one.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
So that's the Okay, got a guy up against the rail,
Oh got got, I got it?
Speaker 1 (05:28):
That's all right. Yeah, he's not leading just yet. They
all start at the same.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
Is it Nascar pole positions at NASCAR?
Speaker 1 (05:36):
Right pole position is Nascar? Okay? Yeah? Yeah, Citizen Bull
twenty to one, do anything for you.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
That's a strong man, that's a good leader. He earned
that post. Citizen Bull, Citizen bull, you know like that one?
Speaker 1 (05:47):
No I do? Uh, it's off and running here niekuus,
I don't can't if I can't pronounce it, and I'm
not based a place in a bed on.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
It sounds like a weak Greek god?
Speaker 1 (05:57):
Is what that?
Speaker 3 (05:57):
This sounds like to me?
Speaker 1 (05:59):
Wouldn't that be fun?
Speaker 2 (06:00):
It's a quick final gambit, not bad, but doesn't sound
like a winner.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Number four Rodriguez at twelve to one.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
He'll be in the mix. Rodriguez will be in the mix.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
All right, American promise, not bad, not bad, tugging on
the heartstrings there.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
Yeah, not bad, that's it. That's on the table.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
Still admire Daytona.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
Mm nah, I don't hate it. I don't hate it.
It's not as bad as noubequitous or whatever. But I
don't think that's a winner.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
All right? How about luxer cafe that sounds like almost
like a strip clubs same and Myrtle Beach, but luxer
cafe of fifteen to one?
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Yeah, I'm not going for the advertising technique here. I'm
out all right, journalism journalists.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
Three to one too? Wow?
Speaker 3 (06:45):
All right, so a lot of belief in journalists.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
I don't know if I can get down. That seems
like a hoity toity, high and mighty type of horse.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
I didn't have any journalism jokes pap in my head.
It's disapointing there. Yeah, I'm out on journalists three to one.
I feel like it's not worth betting on a horse
either too. Yeah, I'm gonna pass the secretariat.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
I'm gonna pass well on that one, all right.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
Burnham square at twelve to one.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
Not awful, But I don't think that's winner.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (07:12):
I like I like he's right in there with Rodriguez.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
Flying Mohawk can't decide if this is a failed native
American tribal leader, or if I do like it as
a horse name, I'm keeping it on the table for now.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
All right, Flying Mohawk is there? All right? East Avenue
we going to a rock that's Electric Avenue. Not near Avenue,
Electric Avenue, but.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
That would have been better. East Avenue out.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
All right? East Avenue is out for sham Benard Okay, publisher.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
Right behind journalism tis tastic, t i z tastic. I
don't even know what to do with this one.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
I don't know what that means, means pass render judgment
at thirty to.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
One, now, I don't like too formal cold battle co
a l okay in the mix on the table.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Okay, Sandman at six to one?
Speaker 2 (08:05):
That was the old Billy Wagner Entrance or enter Salmon,
Yes it was. Yeah, that's strong. I'm keeping that.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
I'm trying to find which one is Bafford's horse and
which one he has going here. I was just going
to google that as well, whether or not while Bob
Bafford is journalism journalist rodriga Salmon or never mind, never mind,
that's not it. Okay, I wasn't winning sure there. I
need to look up because if Bafford's got a horse
you always want to go ahead, uh and go ahead
(08:34):
and fire. Now he's got after serving the three year suspension,
he's got two contenders.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
How about that?
Speaker 1 (08:39):
Yeah, let's see here. Which one is he pushing here?
All right?
Speaker 3 (08:46):
Jason worths is it's miracle miracle?
Speaker 1 (08:48):
Okay, the white hair trainer was Saddlewood Memorial winner. Rodriguez
and Citizen Bull. Those are his two, so rogas and
citizens Bull rises to the top. Citizens Bull. I think
I like Rodriguez. Wow, Citizens Bull at twenty to one.
Now they're gonna tell me about the rail and nobody
wins down there. Whatever, I'll let that be. Sam Man,
(09:12):
we've got to that sovereignty.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Not bad, don't love it, chunk of gold, kind of
like it. But those is not like a winner and
owen almighty, I'm out which one is Jason Wirt's horse? Uh? Miracle,
I believe it said ex MLB Stars horse searching for
Kentucky Derby miracle. Never mind, No, yeah, let me find this.
Jason Worth isn't afraid of taking a big swing.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
Bugles. Yeah, I'm going to wager. I'm going to wager
on Citizens Bull.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
It's sane.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
I I he might not have a horse this year.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
Yeah, Domock looks like it's name.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
I know he was involved last year, of course, but
I don't know if he'll have one end this year.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
It's so tough, but it doesn't look like it. So yeah,
no dice on Jason Worth.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
Unfortunately, Rodriguez and Citizen bul.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
I'm rocking with Rodriguez. I think that's the winner of
this year is Kentucky Derby.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
Twelve to one. I like it. Nice work by Sean Bnard.
Nice work by you across the board, sir, somebody check
it in here Chase Mud off topic, but did you
guys see the seventy six ers uniform news?
Speaker 3 (10:19):
I this might have been who is tweeting?
Speaker 2 (10:22):
I saw somebody tweeting about it online that allegedly the
City Connect jerseys will be navy blue this year. I
have not seen that confirm from any team source or anything,
but I saw somebody tweeting about that online there, So yeah,
we'll be see. I'm certainly open to a navy blue
City Connect A right.
Speaker 1 (10:37):
A nice work by you, hey. Coming up at five o'clock,
we are going to have sam Oshtia and myself break
it down. Love picks and roll. Six o'clock swinging and
ning it for the PGA Tour Truest Championship coming our
way next week. We'll have tickets to give away starting tomorrow.
We're gonna have some stuff on socials and on the air,
so you don't want to miss that. And then seven
o'clock bending the edge of McLay and beef. Any final
(10:59):
thoughts where we get out of here.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
Sir Rodriguez, I'm riding with you, so uh let's go
Kentucky Derby.
Speaker 4 (11:05):
Absolutely all right, three two to one.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
All right, live in studio.
Speaker 5 (11:11):
How about this special guests joining us here Shamannard and
I gotta thank you for throwing out the red carpet
for a you know, look, we've never had somebody representing
the squad over American Idol or on the stage at
the NFL Draft.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
Got to be here.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
Yanni is in the house. Hello, Yanni. No, now, Yanni,
Let's get the backstory here, because if we don't pay
attention to American idol, you know, these are the things
that that you know, pass us on the timeline. There's
a lot going on in the world, you know, so
take us a little bit of your history your backdrop
(11:49):
and how you're in this chair right here American Idol,
though unfortunately just the season or the episode just aired.
You went to Hollywood. Yeah, so you went to Hollywood.
Speaker 6 (12:01):
I went. You got the gig it, I got the
gig It gotta say it, I got.
Speaker 4 (12:05):
I got two yeses and a no. Luke Bryant told me.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
Now, oh no, don't shout him out. Yeah, who did
tell you?
Speaker 4 (12:16):
So closer? No, it was, uh, Carrie Underwood. All right,
So who hanging out? So it's it's Carrie Underwood.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
Carrie, Carrie Underwood judge. Yes, and that's why you sang
the song. Oh did she like your version?
Speaker 4 (12:34):
I think so well.
Speaker 6 (12:35):
She said yes, Yeah, she said she couldn't say none
of my voice.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
I was like, I couldn't say no to your voice. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (12:41):
I was like, Carrie, thanks so much, because I thought
it was just very funny. But I knew I could
like come in there and like kill it and just
do a fun job.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
So all right, And now there is another singer by
the name of Yannie, but he has a mustache and
long flowing hair.
Speaker 6 (12:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (12:56):
I left my mustache at home and went.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
Another inn in there as well. All right, So take
me through as far as American idol you want. You're
a singer, you perform. I saw you got great vocals,
of course, and your rolodex is deepest. Saw you singing
a song about Are from Alanis Moore set, which you know,
look when nobody's telling anybody's age, But that's from my day.
I'm a little older. But you crushed it and you
(13:21):
just were up there on stage playing with a dude
on the guitar. So do you do like Jersey shore
bars and stuff like that during the summertime?
Speaker 6 (13:28):
Yes, all summer. It's like five to seven days a week.
I am in a Jersey shore bar or in a lack.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
City beef coil.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
That's it, really, Yeah, he lives you'll find inside humor.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
Do you know gypsy wisdom?
Speaker 4 (13:42):
I do know gyp wisdom.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
There are people, yes, so good, yes, and there are people.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (13:48):
I perform like in Sea Isle and Wildlood Cape May
all of the things. Y A n I on the Yeah,
you'll see Yanni the band maybe because it's me with
my band.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
Nice for summer with the band, Oh yeah really yeah.
Speaker 6 (14:05):
And then I have acoustic duo too, the one that
is in like the corner of a booth singing probably.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
Have you ever seen Kayote Project? Do you know those
guys Kyote Project? Now they're from Jersey, really good dudes, okay,
and they tore up and down. Yeah, but they play
grateful dead. Do you do any grateful dead?
Speaker 6 (14:23):
No people request they're like grateful dead, and I was like,
I will be gratefully dead trying to.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
Follow that for you? All right, that's all right, all right?
So how do you How does one have the idea,
the ambition I want to get on American Idol and
then make that dream happen to the point that you're
performing in front of carry Underwood.
Speaker 4 (14:42):
One must be slightly delulu as they say, are we all? Yes?
Speaker 6 (14:49):
So my friend kind of floated the idea to me
at a gig and I was performing in Dewey Beach, Delaware,
and I was like, that would be so cute.
Speaker 4 (14:59):
Wouldn't it if I did American Idol?
Speaker 6 (15:01):
And so I got connected with the casting producer and
from there we set up some preliminary auditions really and
then from there they asked me if I wanted to
sing for the real judges, which of course I did.
And then you wake up and You're like, I have
to go perform for Kerry Underwood. It's her first day
on the job, so it was like her first time
as a judge, and I was gonna just smack her
(15:25):
with her own song, which was so crazy. Work went well,
it went well.
Speaker 1 (15:31):
Well, So you didn't have to camp out the Cherry
Hill mall over night and stuff like that to give
you a little advantage on the competition. When you say,
I would say, I like that. Yeah, well, when you're
good and you're back in your credentials, then you should have,
you know, to pass that step. I like that.
Speaker 6 (15:45):
Yeah, yeah, well I think it helped that I performed
all over the Jersey Shore. I've really been in the
ringer like it's hard, Like it's hard nights. You you're
up really late, you get up and do the whole
thing again the next day.
Speaker 4 (15:57):
So I felt like I was prepared.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
I love it all right. So, Yanni, you performed on
American Idol. A lot of people have seen you. I
was doing some some digging, some research a little earlier. Today,
big social media following a lot of people were pulling
for you. Of course, South Jersey's own shout the High
School out that you and sham Bnard went.
Speaker 7 (16:14):
Toe there you go, all right, yeah, green Gold and
then like as if that's not enough, all of a sudden,
sham Banard's like, dude, Yanni, this girl who I went
to high school with that went to American Idol.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
You remember me? I said yeah. He said she's at
the NFL Draft this weekend. And I said, I was like,
what what does that even mean? So? What the heck
were you? As I'm trying to hit the butt, hang,
I want to say, you were at the NFL draft. Yeah,
you can't hear that because you're not wearing headphones. But
it was the ESPN NFL Draft sound when a selection
(16:48):
comes in and you were on the stage in Green Bay,
Wisconsin doing.
Speaker 4 (16:54):
What performing as the house band?
Speaker 1 (16:56):
Wow? How about that?
Speaker 4 (17:00):
I'm still shocked by it. It was the most sick experience.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
I get that phone call.
Speaker 6 (17:06):
So my boss is from Milwaukee, Okay, that I work
with in New York, and he could bring two singers
with him to the draft because I wanted to hire
a local band.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (17:17):
So they hired a Milwaukee band and he called me
and my friend Jackie and we're like, y'all want to
play the draft and I said, clear everything on my schedule. Yeah,
I don't care what it takes. That is my I
didn't It was a dream I didn't know I had.
You know, I love I love football, I love the draft,
and and I love singing.
Speaker 4 (17:34):
And that was I performed for like two hundred.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
Thousand polar day.
Speaker 4 (17:38):
I haven't done.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
That green up there, but I think I saw that. Okay,
my bad, I missed that. But nice work by you
on that. So Eagles fan too as well. Great to
hear super Bowl champions absolutely, and so you're up there. Yeah,
that was the first thing I went through my mind.
I was like, well you performed up there? That place
was rocking, rocky.
Speaker 6 (17:57):
Yeah, it was such a cool experience. I did have
to say go pack go quite a bit. But you
know when in Rome, When in Rome? Yeah, so we
had by day three, we were allowed to wear our
team's jackets. So I got to wear my Eagles jacket
on stage and connect with my Birds fans right there.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
Did you meet anybody representing the Philadelphia Eagles.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
I saw them from Afar, but.
Speaker 6 (18:22):
We like, I was like brother sister with their you know,
their giant hats on their big hats.
Speaker 7 (18:28):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (18:29):
Yeah. But they were.
Speaker 6 (18:30):
They were like out, they're kind of far from me,
which is so sad, but I tried to make eye contact.
Speaker 1 (18:33):
I was like, guys, yeah, they can't. They can't have
much happening to those those players and those people in
Milwaukee were probably a couple deep. Yes, so they had
to keep them at bay, you know, behind the cages.
That's all right. So you're up there performing, Yeah, did
you at least meet the commissioner in realm? One?
Speaker 2 (18:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Oh you did? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (18:52):
Well yeah, I'm like, what is Roger doing on a bike?
Why are they on bikes?
Speaker 6 (18:56):
First of all, and then I found the backstory, but I.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
Thought it was pretty cool. I'll give him my hatchip
on that nice work.
Speaker 4 (19:05):
I thought it was just something random.
Speaker 6 (19:06):
But anyway, so you know, I'm it's like, wow, like
the commissioner is running the show, Like I got to
be on his good side, like I want him to
like us, Like I hope we're doing a good.
Speaker 4 (19:16):
Job up there.
Speaker 6 (19:17):
So after we you know, performed, in between every pick,
I like look over to Roger and like I'm like,
kind of like a little child.
Speaker 4 (19:24):
Like are we doing a good job.
Speaker 6 (19:25):
I didn't say that to him, but but then one
time I was near him and he was coming down
the steps with his you know, he starts walking, his
bodyguards fall behind him, and uh he like he dabs
me up and he's like, good job, doing a great
job out there.
Speaker 4 (19:39):
I was like, no, it's like Roger really.
Speaker 6 (19:42):
Yeah, so it's cool to get a little, a little
dab from commission.
Speaker 4 (19:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:46):
Absolutely, he's a big deal. He probably makes like sixty
million dollars a year.
Speaker 4 (19:49):
Yeah, it's not even that much.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
Because he does his job well for all the owners,
that's for sure. All right. We are with Yanni in studio,
especially guests y A and I. You could find her
and her band touring the Jersey Shore this summer on Instagram.
Yanni the band really easy to find there. I like
your band you put together? Did you put all these
(20:13):
guys together? I did? How do you know these guys?
Speaker 4 (20:16):
I met him?
Speaker 6 (20:16):
I met him through the industry, I said on Facebook.
I said, hey, guys, anybody want to start a band?
I wanted to start the band if I wants to
join it. And then I found them very cool.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
All right, and then you got your your You don't
have your schedule just yet for the summertime. I was
looking at last year's schedule.
Speaker 4 (20:32):
Oh yeah, so yeah coming soon, thick.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
I like that.
Speaker 7 (20:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
People in these bands are like my guy Jay who
used to be in the Rockets, whereas he and now
