DZ Season 034 Part 01. Cold Case - Top Nazi Murdered at Hitler's HQ. First and Final Part.

Here’s a murder mystery that you’ve possibly never heard about. A cold case. The possible murder of Dr Todt, committed at Hitler’s headquarters (built by Dr Todt’s organisation) from which Hitler conducted the war against Russia. The HQ was called the Wolfschanze. Hitler’s knickname was Wolf – so the HQ was called the wolf’s lair. It was located in East Prussia. The murder victim (if this was a murder) was Dr Fritz Todt, the engineering genius who had built Germany’s super highways, the Autobahn. Dr Todt was, at the time of his death, fully engaged in building massive defensive works to deter or stop an Allied invasion of Europe, to protect the U-Boats which were waging the critical Battle of the Atlantic and many other works to make Hitler’s Europe impregnable. He was also the Minister for Armaments – responsible for the delivery  ofthe quantity and quality of weapons that Germany need to fight and win the war.  Who were the suspects behind this possible murder? They include the Führer himself, Adolf Hitler, the commander of the Luftwaffe, Reichsmarschall Herman Göring and Albert Speer, Hitler’s favourite architect and the man who gained the most from Dr Todt’s death. But perhaps there were many people in the German Army that had reason to want him dead as well. He had no shortage of people at the Wolfschanze with the motive to kill him. Let’s investigate this murder, if it was a murder, and see if we can find the murderer. Oh and by the way – Reichsführer SS Heinrich Himmler, that obsessive builder of an SS Empire in the midst of Hitler’s empire, should not be ruled out of contention as Todt’s killer.
