Because it isn't just a one-timechoice, it's a daily commitment
(00:23):
to your dynamic well-being.
On this podcast, we know thatthere's no one size fits all
approach to life, so that's whyeach episode is crafted to help
you align with your own dynamicself on your terms.
It's all about exploring whatlife can truly feel like when
you choose what serves yourdynamic well-being.
(00:47):
You're here for a reason, solet's uncover it.
Tune in and let's explore what'spossible together.
So today we're doingfundamentals recording that will
explore the subject of minddynamics.
I have the pleasure of beingjoined by Makota.
SPEAKER_01 (01:05):
Nice to be here.
Thanks for having me.
SPEAKER_00 (01:08):
Nice to have you
here again in our monthly
dynamics until the end of theyear and we get through them
all.
Yes, we will.com and under AboutUs in Contact, and you can read
all about her.
We want to say on this podcastabout Makota that she now has
(01:32):
received her master's ineducation.
SPEAKER_01 (01:35):
Very exciting, yes.
SPEAKER_00 (01:36):
Yeah, so
congratulations, and everyone
can send their celebratory orcongratulations on our website.
So, why this subject of minddynamics?
Well, we know that the mind is alot.
It's part of our series that wehave of all of our dynamics that
we made the commitment to do.
(01:58):
Makoto, what do you think isyour first thought when you
think of mind?
M-I-N-D, mind.
SPEAKER_01 (02:05):
Well, I think about
like what you think or what you
feel, and kind of likeeverything that encompasses the
mind, I guess, like where it ison your body.
And I guess you have a lot ofconnection to the brain, even
though that's not necessarilythe same thing, but that's kind
of the first thing that comes tomind when you say mind.
SPEAKER_00 (02:23):
Yeah, you think of
your brain and your mind being
the same thing.
Yes.
Yeah, we'll get into that alittle bit more.
That's one of the things thathave come up in the podcast,
too, is that how the brain andthe mind do different functions.
Right.
Yeah.
So I always like to set the tonefor our time together because
this is more than just apodcast.
(02:45):
What we focus on expand.
So let's take a moment to centerourselves, be fully present, and
listen with an open heart andmind.
Appropriate mind.
Awesome.
To start, let's ask you this.
Given the title of the show, which really is more like the
discussion around mind dynamics, can you relate?
(03:11):
Do you know how to embrace yourmind in all its facets?
Or do you even know all of itsfacets?
Makoda?
SPEAKER_01 (03:20):
I don't even think I
do.
No.
SPEAKER_00 (03:23):
Yeah, because
there's so many of so many
aspects of your mind.
Yes.
So it's it's something like fromthis podcast that we suggest
that you go and research alittle bit more so you're just
more well informed and look atleast at three different
resources outside of thispodcast, of course, and our
(03:44):
website, but three differentavenues in which they talk about
what mind is and what itencompasses.
SPEAKER_01 (03:52):
Sounds about right.
SPEAKER_00 (03:53):
It's like what I
like to do with most things now
is to have three or moredifferent references, because if
you just go with the first oneyou read, it's like maybe, maybe
not.
And I always start with thedictionary, like a dictionary
definition of what something is.
I agree.
Speaking of the definition, let's just read what a couple of
(04:18):
the online definitions comefrom, like from dictionary.com.
The element of a person thatenables them to be aware of the
world and their experiences, tothink and to feel and to
facilitate the faculty ofconsciousness and thought.
And another one is a person'sintellect.
(04:43):
What do you think of that as adefinition, Makoda?
SPEAKER_01 (04:46):
Well, I think that
they're very different,
obviously, even just by wordcount of how descriptive they
are, but they describe two verydifferent parts of what the mind
could be seen as and what it'sdescribed as.
SPEAKER_00 (04:58):
Yes.
We can only give you one aspectof or a couple aspects of what
we're talking about around mind, and it's having you get
interested enough to want to dothat research.
So again, you are informed as towhat you want mind to be.
You so you know what thedefinition is, and then you can
(05:21):
define it how it serves you.
Yeah, that's perfect.
If you if you think of the wordmind, which is another thing
because when doing research islike what other words other than
mind is there?
SPEAKER_01 (05:37):
Well, I think a lot
of it has the mind of the first
part, so like mindfulness ormindless, mindful, mindlessly.
So it's kind of like all abouteither you have you're being
mindful, like you're maybethinking about things that
you're doing, or the oppositewhere you're not thinking at all
is how that word is kind of useda lot.
SPEAKER_00 (05:57):
Right.
And I just wrote down for thesake of this podcast a few of
them.
It's like mindful, like yousaid, mindfulness, mindset, and
then mindless, you said,open-minded, and then you get
state of mind, which I think isreally one of the important
(06:20):
ones, is like what is your stateof mind around anything.
SPEAKER_01 (06:24):
Right.
SPEAKER_00 (06:24):
You know, because we
know that there's lots of
circumstances, we know thatthere's lots of experiences
along your journey of life.
It's like, who do you want to bein those?
What is your state of mind alongthe way?
SPEAKER_01 (06:38):
Yeah, I think that's
a good way to put it.
SPEAKER_00 (06:39):
Yeah.
And then you get into that wholeside of the mental health side
too, around mind.
What do you what are youthinking mentally?
Like when you think of mental, emotional, spiritual, physical,
all that stuff, you bring thatword part of into the mind
dynamics as well.
So, you know, it it there is abig, again, another array of
(07:01):
words that you can use aroundmind.
But I I do think my state ofmind is important to me and to
to just have the balance inthat.
What about you?
SPEAKER_01 (07:15):
Yeah, I think state
of mind is one of the really
good ones because it is kind oflike what is the situation, what
is the status of your mind?
You know, thinking of othersynonyms for state, and then
what are you actually wherewhere is it?
You know, is it is it unstable?
Is it stable?
Is it, you know, are you usingother words that have
mindfulness where you'rethinking about your state of
(07:36):
mind?
It's very interesting that way.
SPEAKER_00 (07:39):
And along the way in
this month, because this has
been a whole month of minddynamics, is had two blogs.
One was intro to the minddynamics and lots of good
information in there.
So again, dynamicsseries.com, gointo multimedia blog.
And then the the second was wasmind mantras, you know, where we
(08:00):
have mantras around mind and howyou can adjust and tune your
mind to what they what they meanwhoever they is, but in the
research and studies have shownthat there's uh primarily two.
There's like a fixed state ofmind, and that was in one of our
(08:22):
vehicle videos where it's like, this is your mind is just like,
nope, this is the way it is,this is reality, my reality
doesn't change, it that this ismy mindset, and that's it.
And there's sort of no real ittakes a lot to change yet
because it's just either it's aa habit or it's a belief or it's
something that you just knoweither works or doesn't work,
(08:44):
but it's familiar and safe.
SPEAKER_01 (08:46):
Right.
SPEAKER_00 (08:46):
But it's fixed.
It's that you don't really wantto.
It's almost sometimes it's likean unempowered thing sometimes,
or it could just be like a well, this is the way it is, and
that's it.
Or the second one being a morelike empowered, open state of
mind where you are more open, you're more wanting new ideas.
(09:12):
Like that's part of what one ofthe definitions of dynamics is
in that is open to new ideas andwilling to change and stuff.
The openness and the empowermentand stuff is that you're you are
wanting to not just be stuck inone thing.
You want to have your mind freshand open and and be willing to
go, oh, oh, maybe I could dothis different.
(09:34):
Oh, maybe there's a differentway, maybe there's a different
perception around this.
Am I open to hear it or am Ijust closed off or am I open?
You know, you think of thatdoor, it's just like you close
it, that's it, or you're openingto go, hey, bring in new, new
mind stuff for me, new ideas, new thoughts, new ways that
perhaps I, you know, you couldbelieve something different.
(09:58):
And that's because if you wantto feel good or you or you feel
bad, there's a lot of wordsunder those two things, the feel
good or the feel-bad categories.
However, your mind has a lot todo with that.
And there is in that blog abouthow, again, the mind and the
brain and how that all workstogether.
(10:18):
So I suggest you go read that.
A lot of people, again, do thinkthat the brain and mind are one
thing.
And we are all connected andeverything is interconnected,
but they do have different rolesto play.
Yes.
So let's move on to other thingsaround mind.
(10:40):
Categories of mind, types ofmind, pillars of the mind,
dimensions of the mind, stagesof the mind, levels of the mind,
a lot of mind.
And then the types of the mind, and it says it, you know, just
may vary depending on the model, but the the the common
(11:01):
categories are the consciousmind, pre-conscious,
unconscious, subconscious, andsuperconscious.
And I'm sure there's more, soagain, the more you research
something, the more points ofview and the the more that
people have defined it indifferent ways based on their
(11:23):
experience.
Right.
How could you ever really knowthe mind?
Yeah, you wouldn't be able tofully.
Yeah.
I know there's a disciplinedline, a a mind, a creative mind,
you know, like there's all ofthese different things that
could be put in the front ofthat word.
How do you feel about mind ingeneral?
(11:45):
Like, how do you feel about yourmind?
SPEAKER_01 (11:48):
That's a pretty
interesting question.
I would say that it's verymulti-layered, just like any
other part of me.
Just kind of like what you said, that there's like the
subconscious and thesuperconscious and the
conscious, and that all thoseare parts potentially of my mind
and how they work and thingsthat I can't even fully explore.
(12:08):
It's kind of like any other partof your body or your day-to-day
life.
It's that you kind of know it ona surface level and it works,
and you know it's there for you,and you're relying on it.
But there's so many other thingsthat you don't know about how it
works or how you can make itbetter or worse, or just parts
that we don't even haveknowledge about.
So I think that it's veryinteresting to do a deep dive
(12:30):
into this to kind of see howdoes your mind work and are
there things that we notice moreoften than not about our mind,
like maybe even just dreams asan example of when we're in a
subconscious state of mind whenwe're sleeping, that our dreams
are so completely differentbecause of what our mind makes
up in them and what they takeout of it to interpret.
(12:51):
And so our minds are completelydifferent from one another, and
that's pretty interesting.
SPEAKER_00 (12:56):
Well, and that's
what that's what I love about
the uniqueness of everybody, isbecause everyone's mind is so
brilliant in its own way, youknow, because it's like you
said, the great wordmultifaceted.
We don't all have to thinkalike, and that's okay, and we
don't all have to have the samemind, and that's what makes the
(13:19):
world interesting as well.
I agree.
When you're thinking about yourconscious, which is thought,
conscious mind, it's more ofyour immediate awareness that's
in front of you.
Right.
And then your your pre-consciousholds retrievable information,
and then the unconscious is moreof deep-seated feelings or or
(13:42):
things that we call memories.
I mean, that's just the basis ofmy research, and that's sort of
summing it up a little bit moreof all of it.
Your mind, if you again do moreinformation based on wanting to
know more about your mind, theredefinitely will be a lot that
(14:03):
you'll get into.
And I have always lovedpsychology, the psychology of
the mind, too.
But for the sake of this, is wewe want to have your mind feel
like it is balanced, aligned, rejuvenated, healthy.
Things that really make you feelgood, your thoughts, how you
(14:26):
feel.
Like that's why we did one ofthe focus on mantras as our
blog, because one of them, forinstance, is minds focus creates
reality.
That reality changes all thetime.
Because if you focus onsomething, if your mind is
focusing on something, that'syour point of view, that's your
(14:46):
point of attraction.
Law of attraction will bringsomething more to you around
that, like attracts like, thenthat is your reality.
But then as soon as you shift itor change it, then you have a
new reality.
So everyone's when someone says,Oh, this is my reality and
that's it, it's like, no, yourreality literally can change in
a moment, yeah.
(15:07):
Yeah, in seconds, really, justwith a change of perception.
Yeah.
So yeah.
So, how overall, as we finish,we start to uh close up this uh
podcast for you today, what doyou want to say overall about
dynamics of the mind?
You know, because dynamics arevery multifaceted.
(15:27):
And for those that don't knowthe clarity of what dynamics is,
is the way in which people orthings behave and react to each
other in a particular situation.
Being dynamic is also aboutbeing open to new ideas, able to
adapt to different situationsand communicate well with
(15:50):
others.
They're always becoming full ofenergy, constantly changing and
making progress, positive andattitude of a person.
So when now when you think ofthat, and then you associate
that with the dynamics of themind, what do you want to leave
our audience with around yourperspective of that?
SPEAKER_01 (16:12):
Well, I think that
the word dynamics is a really
interesting one, like you said.
There's a lot of differentdefinitions for it.
And I think about all thedifferent dynamics that we have
in the dynamics series and howthey're all unique and different
and fluid and ever changing andgrowing, and how that relates a
lot to the mind, and that themind is always ever throwing,
always changing, always growing, and just like how we expand on
(16:35):
mind dynamics and how we'veexpanded on other themes in the
past will continue to do so, andso will our minds as we grow up
and learn new information.
SPEAKER_00 (16:43):
Yeah.
And it's always expanding,right?
SPEAKER_01 (16:46):
It's always
dynamically moving in the right
direction that it needs to be.
SPEAKER_00 (16:50):
Yeah.
Well, whatever serves person atthe right time, right?
As we all know, there's nomeaning to anything unless we
give it meaning.
Because you could think, oh,that car is beautiful.
And I could say, you know, Idon't think it's beautiful.
Right.
So, you know, you have themeaning of, oh, you like
something like so that couldhappen to any subject as well.
(17:11):
Yeah, thank you for that.
That's that's a really greatoverall mind dynamic thought and
good mindset on it.
And good mindset, yes, good, good mindfulness there.
Yes, you know, because you withmindfulness too, you can think
of you know it being taught inschool, which you have with the
kids is more places havingmindful time with their kids,
(17:35):
you know, whether that is justteaching them about breathing or
about sitting in a room quiet, about meditation, about being
out in nature, about just beingone with your mind and and
making friends with your mind.
So that that's a big thing isdon't hate the mind, just
realize that it the mind is amind and it's yours to play
(17:56):
with.
No, you'd want to feel betterthan you do not feel good,
right?
Just exactly.
Yes.
Anything else you want to share,or do you think that sums up
everything for us?
SPEAKER_01 (18:07):
I think that sums up
everything.
