SPEAKER_09 (00:31):
Good evening.
Welcome to Monday's edition, orthis Monday's edition of Break
Even Sports.
I am uh producer Virgil Brooks, and I'm here with Patrick and
Donnie and uh Mr.
No Call No Show.
I guess we'll show up whenever.
I don't know what thatsituation's about.
So today we've got a lot ofupscrew to talk about, a lot of
um FCS to talk about, includinga pretty big upset we're gonna
(00:53):
go over, and also some um otheruh some I would say surprises
this week to talk about.
Um made in some hockey.
And also, in case you guys arenot aware, uh college basketball
has officially started.
SPEAKER_10 (01:06):
Yeah, Clemson was up
uh 40 something, 16 at the half
a little while ago.
SPEAKER_09 (01:11):
So we may we may not
talk about that because we'll
have a uh we'll have a truecollege uh basketball kickoff
tomorrow.
And if you've been along for awhile, you can probably read
between the lines and know whatthat means.
First off, so first off, uhguys, how are you doing this
this evening?
SPEAKER_10 (01:31):
Doing pretty good.
Uh hey there, Polly.
Just uh want to say uh I am uhcamping.
We're headed home tomorrow, souh I am uh in the mountains of
North Carolina to be exact.
SPEAKER_01 (01:45):
So but Polly, you
should see the setup that that
man has.
He ain't helping it, he ain'thelping himself with uh with
with uh the narrative that goeson this show.
That's all I'll say.
SPEAKER_10 (01:59):
Well, it's it's it's
a short trailer, it's not very
big, it's not the massive uhfive uh fifth wheel kind of
you've got a lot of bottom onwheels.
It's a it's a hotel room onwheels.
SPEAKER_01 (02:10):
Yeah, you've got
well no, you've got all those uh
little uh um extra things, you've got every gadget and
knick-knack that you canpossibly have to go.
That's more like glamping, notcamping.
SPEAKER_10 (02:22):
Oh, you're talking
about the blackstone griddle and
the Traeger grill and the thelove seat sofa, the TV, the
rocking chairs, yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (02:31):
Yeah, yeah.
I'm telling you, like, listen, there's camping and then there's
camping with Donnie.
Man, listen, I'd go camping if Ihad that set up.
SPEAKER_09 (02:42):
Right, like that's
just uh that's like a whole
nother house at that point.
SPEAKER_10 (02:47):
Oh no, I spend I
spend my day sitting, I sat
outside all day watching TV.
SPEAKER_01 (02:51):
So Smithers came
along for the ride.
SPEAKER_10 (02:55):
Yeah, there's
there's my butler right there.
SPEAKER_01 (02:58):
Oh, you want to try
that again?
SPEAKER_10 (03:00):
Oh no, you want to
try that one again?
SPEAKER_09 (03:02):
No, no, try that
again, try that again.
SPEAKER_01 (03:04):
Listen, you may not
make it home.
SPEAKER_10 (03:06):
I'm her butler,
that's more like it.
SPEAKER_01 (03:08):
I was gonna say,
make sure you get make sure you
say that appropriately.
Hi, Mrs.
Mayor.
Hi, Ms.
Mayor.
Mrs.
Mayor, we know that he's yourhelp.
That's not the other way around.
We know he's your help.
SPEAKER_09 (03:25):
I mean, he
probably's not point.
SPEAKER_10 (03:27):
I mean yeah, if I
don't watch it, she'll just
throw me in the creek out back.
SPEAKER_01 (03:31):
So yeah.
Yeah.
Tonight on the eyewitness news.
SPEAKER_10 (03:36):
Well, she does like
watching uh documentaries on on
wives that have murdered theirhusbands and stuff, so I better
watch out.
I think she's she's got aplaybook on you know, guys, if I
ever go missing, you never youknow where to start.
Because she's probably alreadyfigured out how to do it without
(03:57):
getting caught.
SPEAKER_01 (03:58):
Rhonda wise is a
very wise is a very wise woman.
SPEAKER_09 (04:04):
She is that.
And um, as far as I'm concerned,I didn't see shit.
SPEAKER_01 (04:10):
Virgil, see what?
See what exactly.
SPEAKER_10 (04:16):
Oh but yeah, doing
good, doing good.
I'll be in the home studiotomorrow night.
SPEAKER_09 (04:22):
Yeah, we know you're
still coming off the high of um
uh Carolina beating Green Bay,so of course you probably have a
lot of you have you have someopinions on that this morning.
So well, yeah.
SPEAKER_10 (04:34):
And and if uh if if
C D Lamb doesn't get more than
about eight or nine points, Ican beat Eric twice this
weekend.
So we'll see.
Man, do you wish you took thatbet now?
I wish he took the bet.
He did he's the one that turnedit down.
SPEAKER_01 (04:48):
Well, you know, he's
too cheap to ever get to ever
like fall through on anything.
Absolutely.
SPEAKER_09 (04:54):
This this is true.
Um, yeah, me on the other hand,I'm already down by 30 points
and he still has two playersleft.
So not a good week for me.
SPEAKER_01 (05:01):
Listen, I played
official league, but officially
got over 100 points this weekwith three guys scoring zero.
So they made my game.
SPEAKER_09 (05:07):
I I take back what I
said about that being a bye
week.
SPEAKER_01 (05:10):
So that was kind of
uh I mean I'm lucky that Matthew
Stafford and the Valiant Virgilshad a great week because if it
was what I was supposed to get,I would have lost.
SPEAKER_02 (05:20):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (05:21):
I mean, like, what
was it?
Brock Bowers got like 46 pointsor something like that.
And I'm like, I'm like, what theheck, bro?
SPEAKER_10 (05:28):
Well, um at least
you didn't have to overthink it
like I did because I overthoughtmy situation, and I would have
already beaten Eric by now if Iwould have not changed my
quarterbacks.
See, I I speaking of theCarolina Green Bay game, I gave
more credit to Green Bay andJordan Love and less credit to
(05:51):
the Carolina Panthers than Ishould have because I put in
Jordan Love instead of JoshAllen.
I figured Josh Allen goingagainst Kansas City, probably
gonna have a tough night.
Buffalo hasn't done a lot thelast few weeks.
Um but they've been running theball more, less passing, and
yeah, that was a dumb mistake onmy part.
SPEAKER_01 (06:11):
But Josh Allen, even
when even when the the Buffalo
Bills are garbage, he still gets15 points.
Yeah, well that's becausebecause he because he rushes the
ball himself.
Even when even when James Cookhas a big game, he he he
scampers with the ball.
SPEAKER_10 (06:25):
I mean Well, Jordan
Love's been getting that too.
So I thought, well, the Panthershave been a sieve at times,
especially with Buffalo lastweek.
And I thought they're playing atGreen Bay, it's a road game.
Maybe this is one of those gameswhere Jordan Love, you know,
gets me 20, 22 points.
Oh no, overthought it.
SPEAKER_01 (06:43):
I overthought it.
Well, this is the first timethat Stafford's, you know, where
I've played him and he got mepoints because it's been it's
been like whatever one I play,it's like, oh, Baker Mayfield's
gonna score four points thisweek, and um Matthew Stafford
has 36.
And and I'm just like, man, I mypicks have been horrific this
season, like in terms of mylineups that I've played, my
(07:04):
bench constantly outperforms mystarting lineup, but no one no
one really cares about that, andI don't blame them.
SPEAKER_10 (07:10):
Well, and and and
just real quick to say to Polly,
yeah, you you're the one livingchoosing to live in LA, so you
you gotta deal with the Dodgerman.
That's on you.
SPEAKER_01 (07:20):
Polly, I'm a broken
man, okay?
Like I am I am still not fullyrecovered, so it um I did a
wellness check on Patrickyesterday, by the way.
SPEAKER_10 (07:30):
Because not only did
he have a the baseball problem,
he had his Colts, LSU firedtheir coach.
I mean, it's a bad week for thecase.
SPEAKER_02 (07:38):
That was a good
thing, yeah.
SPEAKER_10 (07:39):
True, but still it's
also the program being in the
wrong direction.
SPEAKER_01 (07:43):
Let's see.
No president, no head coach, nooffensive coordinator, right, no
athletic director, right?
Well, I mean, we have likeacting people and all those, but
like, yeah, like it started,it's you knew something bad was
going on when the LSU presidentleft to go to Wutgers.
SPEAKER_02 (08:05):
Right.
SPEAKER_01 (08:06):
I mean, yeah, from a
from an academic perspective,
Wreckers is a good university, but um still being like a a
president like that and and justlike I don't know, it surprised
me that he would leave for LSUto go to Wreckers, but I think
there was a lot more to thatthan just and he even put out a
tweet that was that was uh thatsuggested there was more to it
(08:28):
than that after um after ScottWoodward was uh was dismissed.
Right.
SPEAKER_09 (08:32):
So you know it could
it could be worse.
You could have DJ Durkin as yourum interim, like Auburn Bows.
SPEAKER_01 (08:40):
Oh well, did we see
the Hugh Freeze thing coming?
I know we're not gonna discussthis tonight, but like did we
see the Hugh Freeze thingcoming?
SPEAKER_09 (08:49):
I mean, I oh
absolutely, yeah, yeah and maybe
just because uh I maybe justbecause I live in the state and
hear it constantly, but nah, that's that that was pretty much
it.
SPEAKER_01 (09:00):
Ed can Ed, can you
stop commenting and just get on
here already?
We know this is your burner.
Yeah, and by the way, uh MikeGundy to LSU and Nick Saban to
Oklahoma State.
It's just gonna happen.
SPEAKER_09 (09:13):
Yeah, neither of
those things are gonna happen.
SPEAKER_01 (09:16):
Listen, you were
talking about someone who has to
prove themselves.
Nick Saban's gonna go have to goprove himself at uh at Oklahoma
State.
SPEAKER_10 (09:23):
And uh, you know,
I'll take uh when hell freezes
over for 400, Alex.
SPEAKER_09 (09:28):
Yeah, can he do it
at a rainy day in Manhattan?
Is that what you're asking?
SPEAKER_01 (09:33):
When well, actually,
you can have when pigs fly for a
thousand.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Um but you know what?
Uh it might make my entire year, even with the blue jays losing,
if uh if if the um like if ifsomehow Nick Saban did end up in
Stillwater.
SPEAKER_09 (09:51):
I don't know, Jolly.
You tell us.
SPEAKER_01 (09:53):
Yeah, you're the one
that usually has tabs on him.
SPEAKER_10 (09:56):
I'm surprised you're
here when he's not.
SPEAKER_01 (09:58):
Yeah, where where
are you, Jolly Gango?
I mean Ed.
Because we don't know really.
Well, well, well, I knew he wasgonna be on a little a little
bit late because he's got a goodexcuse of being a great dad.
SPEAKER_10 (10:14):
Oh, that's true.
SPEAKER_01 (10:15):
I forgot he is how
dare how dare he, you know, like
fulfill his top priorities as heshould.
Shame Mr.
Mom.
SPEAKER_09 (10:23):
Were you about to
say Donnie?
Oh, yeah, I forgot he was a dad.
SPEAKER_10 (10:26):
No, I was I've I
forgot he was like a dad at home
by himself with with uh Mia.
SPEAKER_01 (10:31):
So uh Jolly, are we
not Jolly, are we not good
enough?
SPEAKER_09 (10:38):
I think you already
answered that question.
SPEAKER_00 (10:40):
Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_09 (10:42):
So Patrick, even
though um your other sports
probably did not go well, thereis one that did.
And that is what I labeled thecurved slash flat brim derby,
where Chelsea beats Tottenham1-0.
So Patrick's team beats Ed'steam, and more impressively, did
(11:03):
not get a red card at all duringthat game.
SPEAKER_01 (11:10):
We came close.
SPEAKER_08 (11:11):
Came close.
SPEAKER_01 (11:13):
Yeah, in fact, uh
speaking of red cards, Tottenham
should have had a red card inthe first half.
SPEAKER_09 (11:18):
See, I I was not, I
did not see any of those games.
SPEAKER_01 (11:23):
Yeah, I it wasn't
cool as Seski.
Who was it?
Um who's the other guy that uhit wasn't cool with Seski.
SPEAKER_08 (11:31):
What Rodrigo
Benaker?
SPEAKER_01 (11:34):
Yeah, it was Ben
Kirk.
Yeah, thank you.
Not that they're the sameperson, but I always put those
two together because they theyarrived at the same time.
So um so I I think thatTottenham could have had easily
had a red card, although somepeople were also saying Enzo
Fernandez could have had a redcard in the sec in the second
(11:54):
half.
For I don't think they were thesame level of foul personally,
but you know the me the thecommentators all hate Chelsea
anyway, so they're gonna throwit all um, you know, just to try
to make it even in their ownminds, but they're not
consistent with it at all.
But that's just my opinion.
Um good result.
(12:14):
Somehow we started Garnacho whenwe still got three points, and
we were not clinical at all andstill got three points.
Uh but it said it says a lotwhen you're meant when when the
man had the match for Tottenhamwas their was their goalkeeper
because Vicario made a couple ofoutstanding saves.
Um Geral Pedro could have hadfour goals.
(12:35):
Um but a couple from his owndoing, and then uh a few
dreadful uh attempted finishesby our by Jamie Gittens, you
know, and uh um Geral Pedrotoward the end, but especially
Jamie Gittens, an open goal andhe and he and he hits it over
the crossbar.
(12:55):
Because he leaned back, um, andI'm not talking about the Terror
Squad song, but um he he leanedback and put it over the uh and
put it over the goal, and I'mlike Jamie.
Oh uh former Dortmund, formerDortmund player Jamie, Jamie
Gittens, um after yeah, aftersuch a great um performance in
(13:17):
the Carabao Cup uh to score likethat and scoring a hum a
wonderful goal.
He he also has a couple of thosehead scratchers like that.
He I thought he put on his umRaheem Sterling hat for a little
bit and then uh put it way overthe goal.
Oh hey, look who it is.
What's up, son?
(13:39):
Man, what up, son?
SPEAKER_09 (13:40):
We were just talking
about Tottenham.
Yeah, we were perfect time, andwe're not even joking.
SPEAKER_01 (13:46):
No, no, literally,
yeah, literally, we were just
talking about it, but um I don'twant to talk about it.
That's probably the worstperformance I've seen Tottenham
have all season.
And um if they could just thinkuh well I mean Chelsea wasn't
great, but we were we werebetter than you guys on the day.
Um, I thought we had a goodperformance energy-wise, we just
(14:08):
couldn't we could we we couldn'tscore more than one goal to save
our lives.
Um oh look, and by the way, since you've already been with
us, because you know Jolly'sbeen here for a little bit, I
mean you um has been here for alittle bit.
SPEAKER_09 (14:23):
No, and you and you
gotta cut him some slack and
talk some tottenum becausetomorrow Patrick's gonna be have
to talk about the Blue Jays.
SPEAKER_06 (14:29):
So, I mean Oh,
listen, I yeah, you're right,
you're 100% right.
SPEAKER_10 (14:38):
Well, I got the haul
this weekend, so uh my teams did
very well.
Congratulations.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Except for your Clemson.
True.
Oh man, you had to go there.
We're we're talking about thaton Tuesday night.
SPEAKER_01 (14:54):
That's not Monday
night.
Well, I mean, who else is whoelse is Dabbo gonna blame?
He's already blaming thereferees and everybody else
under the sun.
SPEAKER_10 (15:04):
That's what Dabo
does.
You know that was a bad call.
I will say that.
SPEAKER_06 (15:09):
It was a bad call.
Okay, it was a bad call.
Uh you know, Dabo loves to makeexcuses.
SPEAKER_10 (15:17):
He gives reasons, he
doesn't make excuses.
SPEAKER_09 (15:20):
You reason positions
where calls make the game.
Yep.
SPEAKER_10 (15:26):
And I said that I
did say that this morning.
It can verify that.
I did say that didn't give usthe game.
We shouldn't have been in thatposition by then for that to
give us you did say that.
SPEAKER_01 (15:37):
Yeah, well, when
you're uh we'll go into more
detail tomorrow night, but likewhen you score, I should I can
say this as an LSU fan, but likewhen you score 45, you should
not lose a football game whenyou're when you're when you're a
program that's in the ACC or theSEC and you're playing, you
know, rival.
If you score 45, you would hopethat you would win a football
(15:57):
game, but unless you're theCincinnati Bengals, unless
you're unless you're theCincinnati Bengals, but you
know, we won't go there ormid-2000s, big 12 games.
Well, true.
I mean, what was it, the airraid offense from uh from Mike
Leach and um yeah, it was and Ican't talk, my teams do
(16:18):
inexplicable things to lose, andI'm still reeling, but um well
the caveat is if you could score45 points and not give up 46
points, you should win the game.
My point is if you score 45points, there should be no
reason that you don't win thegame, right?
Like there's a humongous problemwhen you're giving up 46 points,
(16:41):
but I I root for teams that dothose very things, so so I get
it.
SPEAKER_06 (16:51):
You know, I'm just
all I'm gonna say is
congratulations to your team.
Um, my team sucked, and this issomething that I have been
talking about for a while now, right?
The fact that my team lets theopposing player way too much on
their side of the field, on theside of the pitch.
(17:13):
Okay, and I keep saying it overand over again and over and over
again.
They keep playing with fire, andthis is what happens when you
play with fire, you're gonna getburned, and that's what exactly
what happened uh this weekendyet again.
SPEAKER_01 (17:25):
Well, here's my
question, and maybe you know
this, maybe you can answer this.
I because I don't get it.
Thomas Frank is not a managerthat's afraid to go forward.
Um that's what I that's that'slike that was my thought.
Why are you playing Kolu Muane?
Like you had like one trueattacker on the pitch, like
someone like you had runners andguys that defend, like, but why
(17:47):
would you not have the guys likeRichard Richarlison um and guys
like that on to start ratherthan playing Muani, who you
know, he's he's okay, but heholds he's mainly there to hold
up the ball.
But that's what I'm saying.
You didn't put on yourattacking, your true attacking
players until like the 70thminute.
SPEAKER_06 (18:06):
And if you're
telling me that you're that
you're supposed to be a managerthat you know it's all about
attacking, it's all about movingforward, it's all about going
forward, then why in the godsgreen earth I like how I just uh
edit it myself there.
Um I was pretty good at myself.
Oh, it's only not swell.
No, I know, right?
Why are you letting them all theway back?
(18:26):
And then it's like they the theopposing team is dictating the
the outcome of the match thewhole time.
They're letting they're they'reyou're getting your ass handed
to you, and it's and it'sfrustrating.
And I was like, you know what?
I'm going to go do other thingsbecause I'm just gonna yell at
the TV.
(18:47):
Um when I shouldn't be yellingat TV, and you know, yeah, and
then of course my daughterreminded me very very stutely,
uh, Daddy, it's just a game.
SPEAKER_01 (18:57):
Yeah, I tell myself
that a lot this weekend, but
like I don't understand, likelike even Brendan Johnson, who
who's gotten important goals foryou guys.
Um, you you start Bergval overand has Bergval been starting
over Brendan Johnson all season?
And I just didn't realize itbecause like you're such a
completely different team whenyou're not playing multiple
(19:20):
stadium.
Well, like I mean, you have thebest away record in the league.
SPEAKER_00 (19:27):
That's the only
reason that you're in the top
five.
Your shadows it's I don't know,man.
SPEAKER_06 (19:33):
You know, I don't
know.
Well, I mean, yeah.
Uh did you guys see the theTigers offered school four four
years?
Yeah, I would have declined thatshit too.
SPEAKER_01 (19:47):
Yeah, it needs to be
now.
If you want to talk four years,160 million, you're you're gonna
go back to the table.
SPEAKER_00 (19:53):
Right now we're
talking, but that's it, that's
insulting.
That is insulting.
SPEAKER_01 (19:57):
Listen, I know it's
not gonna happen.
I hope the blue jays just givehim a like an offer that he
can't refuse.
But you know the the blue jaysare not gonna do that, you know
better than that.
Well, I mean they've done it,they've done it with Otani and
they've done it with uh Soto.
SPEAKER_06 (20:15):
And how many times
have they gotten burned though?
Yeah, but they both refused it.
Exactly.
SPEAKER_01 (20:20):
But now we're a team
that's been in the world series.
SPEAKER_06 (20:23):
Uh well, they're not
a small market team.
SPEAKER_01 (20:26):
No, we have a whole
country behind us, Ed.
SPEAKER_06 (20:28):
Yeah, I I didn't say
that.
Jolly said that.
That was me.
We know that's your guard.
SPEAKER_01 (20:35):
Right.
Can't believe you're saying thatwith all your former guardians
on there.
SPEAKER_06 (20:39):
Nobody in Canada.
SPEAKER_01 (20:40):
Do you know what I
saw a uh statistic in which you
are uh he's yeah, hey Joe, heyJoe.
Um, do I need to what do I needto say, Joe?
Jolly's disrespecting uh Jolly'sdisrespecting uh Canadian MLB
fans.
SPEAKER_06 (20:58):
And I'm gonna see
that statement there was
elections in Canada and 19.3million people in Canada voted,
and 19.8 million watched theToronto Blue Jays win in the
World Series.
SPEAKER_00 (21:11):
Yeah.
Your burner isn't here.
Oh, my burner is here, Jolly.
SPEAKER_09 (21:15):
That is his burner.
SPEAKER_00 (21:16):
That is his burner,
Joe's right there.
SPEAKER_06 (21:18):
Yeah, which by the
way, today I finally finished
all of the uh pepperoni balls.
Uh and so good.
They were so good.
I I finished it for lunch.
I had some uh some uh marinarasauce and then I put some red
pepper flakes in in it, you knowwhat I mean, to give it a little
bit some heat.
And let me tell you, uh, Iwonder what the sportsness were.
(21:39):
Yeah, it was in time.
I saw I can't remember where Isaw it, and I wish I would have
saved it because I was gonnasend it to Patrick.
But yeah, 19.8 million peoplewould watch.
I'm like, damn, huh?
That's a lot of Canadianswatching one high one uh
football team, one baseballteam.
SPEAKER_01 (21:53):
One thing that I
missed during the playoffs is I
missed getting to hear Dan andBuck.
That was the biggest thing thatI missed is the getting to hear
Dan and Buck call the call theworld series.
SPEAKER_06 (22:02):
How do you guys feel
about that?
What like the nationalbroadcasters calling the games
instead of your local person?
Like you have can you at leasthave the option to listen to
like your local person insteadof the national?
SPEAKER_01 (22:18):
Well, listen, I'm
gonna give I'm gonna give Joe
Davis some credit here.
I thought for being a guy that'snormally the Dodgers you know,
play-by-play broadcaster, Ithought he called it right down
the middle.
I really did.
I mean, you know, like it wouldhave been very easy for him to
get excited about when theDodgers did something because
yeah, a lot of other peoplewould have, but I thought he
(22:38):
called it right down the middle.
And Joe Davis, I thought, did agreat job and showed equal
excitement whenever a playhappened, and and um I think he
deserves massive credit for thatbecause it's very easy for him
to just jump to the Dodgers andum, you know, at least my
problem wasn't the problemwasn't Joe Davis, the problem
was um Smoltzy jinxing you guys, and I'm not uh superstitious,
(23:06):
but I'm more than a little bitwith him because everything he
said the Dodgers haven't done, they turned around and did right
after he said it.
SPEAKER_10 (23:15):
Because he said when
they when they had two runs and
you guys were up, and it waslike he said something like the
Dodgers have never uh or theDodgers were like three and
something in seven, two orexcuse there were two and
something in in game sevens andnever scored more than two runs.
(23:35):
And as soon as he said that,Muncie hits a home run.
I'm like, Are you kidding me?
And then there was at least twoother things after that that he
said the Dodgers haven't donethis, they did it.
Dodgers haven't done this, theydid it.
I'm like, shut up.
SPEAKER_01 (23:48):
Well, the thing that
broke my heart was not even the
lot, like it wasn't even theloss, but like seeing the guys
in the clubhouse afterwards andjust seeing how overcome with
emotion they were.
That that about broke me becauseunless you're a blue jays fan,
unless you're a blue jays fan,you don't know how close this
team was.
Yeah, like just following themall season and knowing how not
(24:10):
only how the players got along, but their wives and girlfriends
and their kids, like it was justsuch a tight-knit group the
entire way through.
SPEAKER_10 (24:17):
But well, and Bachet
looking down there and seeing
Mattingly and walking down andgiving him a hug and stuff, it
was just like and and Don saysit'd be okay.
I'm okay.
He said that too.
I'm like, Yeah, I get it.
It's frustrating, but uh yeah,Joe's right.
SPEAKER_01 (24:31):
Uh, although I'd
hate to be Jeff Hoffman because
I'm I'm not a fan of going aftersomeone.
I mean, no one feels worse thanHoffman about about giving up
that home run.
SPEAKER_10 (24:39):
No one does.
Before that, what uh I was gonnaask you this.
I I meant to text you this.
Um, I mean, how did you feelabout your savage coming in the
inning?
Because he gave up the the thethe the one before that.
Yeah, what about your regularbullpen?
I get some I get it's the lastgame using some of your former
(25:00):
starters, but do that in extrainnings, yeah, in my opinion.
SPEAKER_01 (25:04):
Well, uh I didn't
hate it because there weren't a
lot of guys in the blue jaysbullpen that I was that I felt
could hold the lead.
SPEAKER_10 (25:11):
Well, um uh who was
that before him?
Is it was it Dominguez orRodriguez?
I can't remember.
What uh Sir Anthony Dominguez?
Dominguez.
I mean, that dude was nibblingtoo much.
Hey, Virgil, I was like, quitnibbling the edges and throw
pitches.
SPEAKER_03 (25:25):
This seems like a
conversation for a Tuesday night
show.
What do you think?
SPEAKER_09 (25:28):
It was gonna run
over.
I'm letting Patrick talk on thisone because I know we're gonna
go over again tomorrow.
SPEAKER_04 (25:35):
Just try to let him,
you know.
SPEAKER_09 (25:38):
I the more I let him
get get it out, the better.
So that's what I'm doing.
SPEAKER_01 (25:41):
Yes, I'm I'm
crestballing Ed, allow me.
No, um listen, am I heartbrokenby it?
Yes, but I also try to remember, and I've told this to all of
you, I think, at one point oranother since it happened.
It is it is just sports at theend of the day, and you know,
there's more there are moreimportant things than that.
(26:04):
And I know that sounds like aplay placating thing to try to
help me to help myself get overit, and maybe it is to a degree,
but it but it's also the truth.
Um I feel my heart goes out tothe Toronto fans for what
they're doing and for theplayers because it's and John
Schneider.
But you know, we're gonna we'regonna wake up tomorrow and you
(26:26):
know, and uh, you know, the andanother day will come and we're
gonna have to just focus on whatcomes next because you're gonna
have to get ready for a 2026season.
I mean, it's what's happeninghas happened, and the the
Dodgers, whether you like themor not, whether you agree with
how they put together their teamor not, they made plays when
they had to.
(26:46):
And I can't sit here and sayOtani beat us.
Mickey Rojas did and Will Smith.
SPEAKER_10 (26:52):
It wasn't their most
expensive pieces that won that
game.
SPEAKER_01 (26:54):
No, and Mickey Rojas
is a player I've always liked,
and he plays the game the rightway.
And I didn't think Dave Robertswas wrong when he said the game
rewards you sometimes or thegame pays you back.
Yeah, I mean, Ed, I think youand I talked about that this
morning.
SPEAKER_05 (27:08):
Yep.
SPEAKER_01 (27:09):
Um, yep, it was so I
can't I can't hate too much, and
I'm not in it.
I've I've never really hated theDodgers.
I mean, that's that's yeah,neither honestly.
SPEAKER_06 (27:19):
I I have you know, I
I don't hate the Dodgers, yeah.
You know, I don't particularlyroot for them, right?
Because obviously I'm aCleveland fan, but like I don't
hate and one of my favoriteplayers in the major league
baseball is Kike Hernandez,right?
He plays all out.
Let's be honest.
Like, you know, it's it I Ireally enjoy the way that he
(27:39):
plays, and I don't even youknow, a lot of people say, Oh,
well, Tani, this hey, let himmake that money.
He played six seasons with theAngels and not a single playoff
appearance, so yeah, you know, Ithink he paid his dues.
SPEAKER_01 (27:54):
Well, but and and
listen, Joe, the the dead, I
mean the Dodgers are gonna makemoves and they're gonna get
other people.
Um, but yeah, the I I threw Itry not to like act out in front
of other people, but I was overwith uh my girlfriend and her
family watching the game, and Ithrew my hat at that ninth
inning and everything thathappened, and I I did apologize,
(28:14):
but I like threw my hat, I wasso frustrated because I was
like, everything that couldhappen, and everything that was
like a gut punch, it's like itcould happen, yeah.
Yeah, I mean, or or like a greatplay by the Dodgers that nine
times out of ten or nine ninetimes out of a hundred, they
drop that, or nine-nine timesout of a hundred, they don't
make that play, and they did.
(28:35):
So um I wasn't surprised by Hoffgiving up a home run.
I mean, we he gave up the mosthome runs in the majors among
relievers.
I mean, we know that, but he'dbeen very good in the playoffs,
so um, just a really whore hardway to for that to happen.
And yes, yes, Mike, I I still ammourning.
(28:55):
Yes.
Um, I'd be lying if I said thatI wasn't because I was just
gonna say, who wouldn't thoughfor real?
I mean, I mean, obviously, whata dream it would be to be World
Series champions again, but uhbut uh what a season.
I mean, I've never had I canhonestly say I've never had more
fun watching Blue Jays baseballthan I did this past season.
SPEAKER_10 (29:18):
Um well it's funny,
Mike texted me yesterday and
said uh something about you knowhow's Patrick doing.
I said he's still in mourning, and he said, more still or
something like that, because hewas texting me to see how you
were doing about the ColtsSteelers game, which I had no
awareness of, and I was tellinghim about the Blue Jays game,
(29:41):
and then I saw what washappening in that game, and I'm
like, Yeah, it's it's it's gonnastill continue.
SPEAKER_01 (29:45):
But anyway, yeah,
congrats, Mike to the Steelers,
by the way.
But um, we did come back andmake it closer, but we'll talk
about that tomorrow.
But um, um, but but yeah, to getus back on track, uh the Chelsea
Tottenham, I was thrilled with.
three points because at leastone of my teams got some you
know got a win this weekendbecause I'll tell you this
nobody else did I was notpleased with the outcome of that
(30:09):
uh I was very pleased with thewith the with the outcome what
do you call your state is itstill Tottenham hotspur stadium
is it still called that yephotspur stadium or is it called
three point lane okay I couldn'tremember which one that's just
not cool virgal if I may it'shappened again it's happened
again Tottenham hotspur it'shappened again yeah this is so
(30:35):
exciting guys this is soexciting donnie that's a cheer
that all the Chelsea supportersdo every time we win against
Tottenham because I think inwhat the last 50 matches it's
like I think Tottenham's wonlike three and then like uh
there's been I don't know 13draws but then like Chelsea's
won like 37 it's ridiculous.
SPEAKER_09 (30:54):
I was pretty shocked
by the uh reading about that
result but I thought it was alot closer than that no no like
it's I think the last time thelast time Tottenham won was when
Harry Kane was still there andhe scored two goals I really
would I really like when youguys are really you know just
stab and twist on that one thingbecause I appreciate that I
(31:14):
really do guys uh well I mean Ithought it was gonna be
different when Thomas Frank gotthere but I guess not apparently
not apparently not becauseapparent because I'm not saying
we're good because we're not butum but but speaking of teams
having teams number uh Donnieyou may have a permanent
residence at Anfield after onceagain embarrassing almost
Louisville embarrassingLiverpool the Louisville of the
(31:38):
Premier League well I was gonnasay when did crystal when did
Crystal Palace play Louisville II'd love to see that.
SPEAKER_06 (31:44):
Yeah so Carabao Cup
they beat Liverpool 3-0 yeah
that was a nice win there in thein the Carabao Cup game on
Wednesday yeah I I was again manwell like they were already up
2-0 and then he comes in at thehalf of the time oh they're
trying to kill Liverpool they'renot just trying to beat them
(32:06):
when I when I saw him if he dieshe dies that's the thing that
was running in my head if hedies he dies and when I saw him
coming on I'm like oh mygoodness what are they doing
here did Mateta score in thatgame yes he scored one or two he
only scored one I believe it'sit's a say it's a shame because
I want to say Hakuna Meteta whata wonderful brace I'm pretty
(32:30):
sure you'll have you will have ano actually he did not score in
that game uh sar scored twiceand oh his melee star scored
that's right his melee star hismelee sarr scored yeah um but I
thought he scored third what apickup from Watford by the way
who scored the third I thoughthe did uh SARS scored first and
the third I believe yeah the uhthe uh Pinot scored the last
(32:56):
pinot Pinot scored the third onein 88 minutes Pinot Grigio did
good for good for Pinot yeahSARS got the two in the first
half and uh then Pinot got thescore uh the score okay in there
well uh can can I ask you guys aquestion especially the top two
guys here at the on this thingtonight how the hell do you guys
(33:19):
keep up with so many soccerleagues um Donnie has already
answered that question Virgil doyou have a do you have a
spreadsheet no I don't do thiswith a spreadsheet I do have um
it's called it's calledobsession and uh once oh that's
right I forgot donnie alreadyanswered the question I'm sorry
I apologize Virgil I'm so Iapologize I didn't want to bring
up a sore subject I am so sorryI apologize my bad he's never
(33:46):
gonna live this what happenedit's because he's single and he
doesn't have any he has uhplenty of time with his hands to
to watch all these soccer gamesoh that's what it is so there it
is as I'm you know crying in mycover green tea already well
(34:06):
that's just awkward but no uhcrystal palace also had a good
result against Brentford 2-0where Patetta did score so yeah
he scored the first goal andCollins scored the second goal
there wait all of my teamsactually prevented their
opponent from scoring anythingNathan Collins what's that
Nathan Collins oh isn't Nathanthat's right that's right it was
(34:27):
a it was an on goal yeah on goalI was gonna say I didn't think
Nathan Collins was on uh no it'son it was for breakfast I was
like wait a second when didNathan collins end up at Palace
but uh ended up on the scoresheet at Palace yeah he did
because I was gonna say JamesCollins I'm like that's throwing
it back a little bit isn't ityeah all all of my teams uh put
(34:50):
nils on the board against themthis weekend too hey what are
you most surprised about the thethe Tottenham Chelsea game or
the outcome or the NottinghamForest and Manchester United one
I I'm not surprised I I mean I'mnot surprised at either one I
mean the like man united's beenplaying well but I mean the new
(35:12):
manager bump that you get atForest like I mean you know at
the city ground you've got amuch more defensively minded
manager in uh Sean Deitch um whowho knows how to grind grind out
results and um uh even thoughman united's been playing really
well in recent weeks um they'refive two and three well and the
(35:36):
and like I said I mean they'rebut particularly in the last
month they've looked reallythey've looked like a proper
team again uh right becauseNottingham Forest is one three
and six yeah but but I thinkit's the new manager bump I
think it's the new manager bump.
SPEAKER_09 (35:52):
Well remember not
his first game was um beating
Porto Porto in the in the UEFACup so the uh our Europa league
but and you guys remembermanchester had to score within
the last 10 minutes to levelthat so it's not like it's not
like Nottingham just came out ofnowhere with that they they
(36:12):
looked comfortable looked likethey were about to probably win
that and then Manchester takesit wasn't that wasn't that
Diallo that scored like in the89th minute or something like
that or 88th I think it was alittle earlier than that.
SPEAKER_01 (36:23):
Okay.
SPEAKER_09 (36:24):
It was it was two 80
minutes I'm not in the 81st okay
okay but the um but we weretalking about the biggest
surprises to me was actually onSunday with West Ham beating
Newcastle 3-1 and really notNewcastle really not even show
up for that one which is amazingbecause yeah which is amazing um
(36:47):
what'd you what'd you guys thinkof Sunderland's fight back
against Everton I meanSunderland looks like a proper
team I mean obviously they beatChelsea but I mean that's not
they're not the first ones to dothat um but I mean I'm I I can
I'm continually impressed withwith Sunderland and the way they
play football and uh howresilient that team is I mean
(37:09):
they're they're they're passingsome big tests.
The only thing I can say aboutSunderland is do they have the
do they have the group to makeit through the league?
And if they don't do they havethe chance do they have the
budget to get the right peoplein there to do it.
SPEAKER_01 (37:27):
Well they're
reminding me I think they're
gonna be able to do a few thingsin January but I mean they
basically bought a brand newteam yes that's what they did
but they I think the they remindme of Nottingham Forest last
season um in in terms of they'renot playing in any extra
competitions than everyone elseis I mean yeah they're I mean
(37:48):
everyone plays in Carabao Cupeveryone plays in FA Cup but I
was just gonna say everybodyplays in Carabao Cup.
Yeah but they're not in Europethey're not in Europe um they
got some money for and I knowthey've probably spent it but
you know they got big money withJoe Bellingham going to Dortmund
even though uh Dortmund neverpays anybody for anyone um they
(38:09):
somehow did pay for JoeBellingham um yeah they're
Chiefs I'm sorry but um can youtell that that they've tried to
you know uh they overchargeChelsea for players but yet they
feel like they can get cut pricedeals in return.
No thanks.
But um yeah it's um I'm reallyimpressed with Sunderland I
(38:30):
think I really like their team Ido agree with you that they
don't have a lot of depth so ifinjuries hit them then that
could change some things but thethey're well managed I mean
they're a well drilled side andI know Terry if Terry's probably
not on right now but I knowTerry's a Sunderland supporter
so um away the lads yeah I'mhoping he comes on because I
(38:52):
want to talk and and I never gotto congratulate him and I need
to send him a text butcongratulating him him on uh
Sunderland's win over Chelseabecause I I I did mean for that
to uh mean to do that becausethat was a like I told you I
think I left a message Virgilfor you to share last week I
thought that Sunderland deservedSunderland deserved that three
(39:13):
points because it was really theperfect away performance I mean
you did exactly how a PremierLeague away performance should
be handled.
I mean it just trying to beobjective about it.
It's um they gave up an earlygoal and they could have just
they could have just clammed upbut they didn't yeah especially
giving up a goal to Garnacho youwould think that that's just
going to make you clam up andnot want to do anything because
(39:35):
it's Garnacho but um they theydid really really well.
SPEAKER_09 (39:40):
And I translated
that to them as that you were
very mad they lost to a subparchampionship team and that's
that's that's what it translatedto I don't know how that
happens.
SPEAKER_01 (39:51):
Sounds about right
yeah okay yeah well and the
thing too is there's only fourpoints separating two through
eleven in the table too so Imean every match right now it's
like a shifting wave of who'swhere yeah well the only team
that's not inconsistent isArsenal I mean right well I mean
(40:12):
like Arsenal's been the mostconsistent team by a mile this
season I mean you know with Cityyou don't know what what team
you're gonna get every week umLiverpool rode their luck for
the first five games um and uhnow now it's like what do you
they just had to pray that theydon't play Palace every week and
(40:33):
then um because I mean shootlike you like you said Virgil
like like if someone has a daddyI think it's I think it's Palace
uh you know uh owning Liverpoolso yeah to to see it happen okay
with with the first uh communityshield it's like okay that's
(40:53):
that's still kind of a warm-upkind of thing that makes sense
happen in the happen in theleague okay yeah three but three
nil caraba cup and you can talkabout the lineups all you want
but three nil road loss or threenil road win at carabout cup I
mean that's that's gettingthat's having your number well
and then but but Palace has beendoing this in big games recently
(41:15):
and obviously you know the theFA Cup over City um we gave
Arsenal their only loss so yeahI know it's not gonna happen but
I'm Chelsea Arsenal is usually ais usually a pretty good game um
form kind of goes out the windowin those games so I'm hoping
that we can and and the problemwith Chelsea is they show up for
(41:37):
the big games they just don'tshow up for you know the the
games against the mid-table andyou know bottom of the table
hence the the um or perceivedthe the people outside of the
perceived top six becauseobviously Sunderland's in there
right now but um newly promotedsides always give Chelsea fits
(41:58):
and um like so do the Brentfordsand and people like that of the
world um but um it's been areally anyone can beat anyone in
the Premier League this season.
I mean it's it's been likeoutside of Arsenal I mean it's
like there's no oh Virgil unlessyou're wolves ooh good one
(42:23):
that's a good segue that's agood segue though ah that's true
because man because VitorPereira Vitor Vitor Pereira is
uh no longer the wolves manager.
SPEAKER_09 (42:34):
So I'll be curious
where where that goes maybe a
certain uh Nottingham whole youknow manager may show up again
because he didn't take theCeltic job but the fact that
somebody's about to take overthe wolves job and then even and
then have to still coach arelegated team well so their
former manager Gary O'Neill wasthat was in the frame to take
(42:57):
the job and then he cut offtalks earlier today.
SPEAKER_06 (43:00):
So Gary O'Neill is
not going to take the job so so
egghead man might be in theframe for the wolves job egghead
man you know at this point Iwould just call big Sam at this
at just just yeah replication soinstead of saying egghead man I
should say eric ten hog who wasthe former who was the former
(43:23):
Manchester United manager hishead is shaped like an egg it
really is um and he's bald umwhoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa
whoa whoa whoa whoa we guessyour head's not shaped like an
egg but your head's not shapedlike an egg all right i'm just
saying let me you know hot dogyou know i'm saying listen look
up eric ten hog and tell me ifyou don't agree um looking at
(43:44):
over up yeah you and you you anddonnie look it up because i know
that i know that virgil knowsyou to hopefully the wolves
hopefully the wolves don't dotoo much here in the next couple
of weeks because crystal palacecall them the wolves is there
don't they're not the wolveshopefully wolves thank you
excuse me hopefully wolves don'tdo anything uh drastic in the
next few weeks because we'replaying there in two weeks so
(44:08):
that's like saying the palaceyeah exactly well we are the
palace like if uh virgil canfind it and put it up on the
screen because I can't find itso okay I already got yeah well
yeah we're talking about ericten hog who lasted five games at
Bayer Labercousen before he waslet go let me see let me find
the best let me find the Ishould have said we're not the
(44:29):
palace we're the palace listenstop trying to make fetch happen
you're not ohio state okay calmdown yeah and even oh and I
don't like you're not the ohiostate I don't like I don't like
it when ohio state ohio statethat's not that bad his head the
(44:50):
his head is eggier than that butbut it definitely that's Van
Peltish right there bro ohthat's but still his head is
like an egg bro yeah what areyou talking about oh look Eric
ten hog joined our joined ourshow the your eric ten hog with
(45:12):
glasses I think Ed I actually EdI think if you had the full like
the full beard on your chinhiding the uh the nice you know
chiseled uh chin that you haveyou might be uh yeah you could
go for as him for Halloween youcould have been double ganger
right there bro exactly yeahespecially what's the bad uh
halloween costume wait so it'sso it's ed ten ed ten hog I'm
(45:35):
just saying eth ed ten hoglisten we could we could see if
we can uh get him uh to come onthe on the show now because I
mean that's my double gangerright there you know what I mean
I can go give myself a aturtleneck and then you know I
got the same amount of grayhairs and everything he does
wear the turtleneck quite a bitI will say yes he does yeah but
uh he we we probably cannotafford his appearance fee but
(45:56):
you saw no it's okay the um menustill footing that bill right
you know that's true we'll justsend the bill to them look at
him out of mourning that's whatI'm saying Mike Walter that's a
good call another one I neverwatched about going there too I
never I never watched that showbut I know who Walter White is I
(46:16):
know who what I started watchingthat show I don't I stopped
watching it is that Dexter isthat Dexter no no which one is
it the um what's the other oneit's breaking bad breaking bad
yeah same thing oh you couldkidding don't stop on that one
no it is definitely not the samedefinitely not the same thing
definitely not the same thingbut we're I put it in the same
(46:39):
category because it's like oneof those shows like that has a
cult following oh god yeah I'vebeen to the uh breaking that's
got a cult following so does uhDexter and so does like uh I've
been to their unofficial uh uhuh museum in Arizona have you
really yeah when what is um andwhat's the name of that other
show the one HBO had the onewith the fantasy stuff and
(47:01):
everything game of Thrones Gameof Thrones thank you I was just
gonna say we got this HBO has alot of three shows that I've
never watched you should watchthem definitely you should watch
Game of Thrones that's a I'mtrying to watch TV I just I have
a very it's not live so it'srecorded so it's already done um
you should definitely watch itit is extremely good especially
(47:22):
I'm avoiding I'm avoiding showsto binge like the plague why
when you come back around to ityeah I was gonna say I've
already watched too much TV asit is and I'm trying to cut down
on my television so okay I don'tknow so when your sabbatical is
over yeah you definitely havegot to do breaking bad and game
of throne it's just not it'sjust not my like those they're
(47:44):
not like my types of showsthey're just not based on based
on like what I know of them it'sjust not my not which is not
much uh well I've I've watchedI've read enough like um
summaries to be like uh wasAlbuquerque when I um when I
watched it there was so manyspots I had been to I've been to
(48:07):
the it's a little it's a littlesmall town in Albuquerque and
the Little Museum has a bunch ofcool stuff in there it was it
was pretty cool stuff man yeahMike lived in Albuquerque for a
while by the way years agothat's a nice hat though yeah
that's that's the that's the hatthat you never commented on when
I sent you a picture of it Isaid I did also I'm done buying
(48:29):
hats for the rest of the yearyeah look at the back it says
canes I've decided to I'm I'mdone buying hats for the rest of
the year so two months that's abold take yeah no it's not a
bold take it's it's only liketwo months that's a bold take
cotton let's see if it plans outNovember I um see but that's the
thing though I have not beenimpressed with any of the logos
(48:49):
that come out lately and I'm notabout to spend 30 40 dollars for
a hat then I know that I'm gonnaput it in a closet I'm just not
gonna do it 30 and 40 like whatwhat what this that hats are
different that hats aredifferent than you're you're
right dad hats are approaching40 yeah yeah but and so I'm
spending my money right yeah I'mspending my money on the other
(49:12):
stuff for the I am a daddy Iknow that I was too stuck but
I'm buying that yeah you'reright um but I'm buying I'm
buying other things that for theother channel like you know gear
to test out and things like thatfor the promoting the other
channel what who's this Ed thatstarted a new channel I know
(49:34):
right that's pretty cool who isthat I even bought a new gear I
gotta test it out I know who adad hat is but who's Ed I and I
I want to keep the dad head onthe sports side of things so
that's why I decided to do that.
SPEAKER_01 (49:45):
No but seriously
who's Ed uh his uh that's a it's
just a handsome fella you know alittle pepper beard you know I'm
saying yeah I like I like he'sapparently the wolves new
manager's listen if he wears ahat he can pull off like a Vitor
Pereira I'm just saying you knowyou were saying to Colin McGuire
(50:07):
his head is pretty damn close tome you know what I'm saying well
but no but I've seen his head onthe uh on the sidelines look a
lot more eggy than that pictureshowed well it doesn't have a
good there's no good touchlinepicture for him no there's not
so especially when we'rewatching I mean especially
watching games and just watchingthe steam coming off his head
(50:29):
it's like it's a steam day yeahit's great it's great and I love
and I love it when he's tryingto explain a loss and he gets so
agitated it's it's fantastic.
SPEAKER_06 (50:39):
One of these days
you what would you say he gets
scrambled oh absolutely one ofthese days I'm gonna make it to
uh to England and I I would loveto go see a Premier League game
that that's just it's on mybucket list.
Yeah it's on my bucket list.
SPEAKER_01 (50:55):
Donnie's gonna make
it over there and he's gonna be
like I can't wait to watchCrystal Palace at Molineux.
SPEAKER_06 (50:59):
It can be next year
because next year I already have
a slated for first planet firstplan can't wait to see my
beloved palace at home atMolyneux.
SPEAKER_10 (51:07):
Wow you're gonna
take that Donnie don't really
know what he's meaning by thatso you can't you can't you can't
do it like that expect him toget it okay he'd go over there
and say I can't wait to go toSellhurst to see my beloved
palace is that better yeahabsolutely that's think I think
that's where I would be going soyeah um what do we make of Man
(51:31):
City so far?
SPEAKER_09 (51:34):
Because it's right
now I'm just I'm getting the
vibe that it's Holland andFriends uh it's it's Holland
Holland and Friends well I meaneven more than this year because
I go back to the go ahead no goahead Virgil I'm sorry I go back
to the I was I was watching theum Bournemouth game which by the
way Tyler Adams congratulationson your first Premier League
(51:54):
goal it's about time very happyhe's played so well this season
he really has he deserves thatone but one of the stats that
they said was Holland wasclearly the first uh the first
uh goal scorer like the numberof goals that the leading goal
scorer in city the secondleading goal scorer was a
Burnley defender who had two owngoals and so it's like usually
(52:21):
there's a lot more productionout of the team compared to him
like Philip doesn't reallyyou're you're talking about
within that game right like whono I'm talking about just
overall like in this in thePremier League season so far ten
matches in so the second goalscorer is a Burnley defender yes
a cool that stat was they saidthe second league score goal
(52:42):
scorer for Manchester City was aBurnley defender who had two for
Manchester City.
SPEAKER_01 (52:46):
Yeah two for
Manchester City I thought you
meant overall league score andI'm like I don't know no no no
he said for Manchester he saidfor Manchester City sorry I
missed that part that's okayyeah so um what's happened yeah
well can Tottenham pay attentionoh never mind did no they can't
um so what's happened to OmarMarmoush has he been injured has
(53:12):
marmoush been injured I don'trecall him being injured because
because I know I know Cherokeegot hurt and has been out but
and Rodri you know came back andgot injured again but he's gonna
be on his way back but um Ithink that a lot of I think
there's been a lot ofinconsistency from City but yet
(53:33):
they're still second in thetable because everyone else has
been inconsistent too.
I've not been impressed withthem overall um I mean Holland
has just been Holland becausehe's I read an article that said
he's making the the um the umPremier League look like the
Austrian Bundesliga which istrue I mean he I mean shoot he
(53:59):
did he did tear up the didn't heplay for didn't he play for
Salzburg?
Uh see I'm trying to rememberhis trajectory I thought he was
Salzburg because he went fromSalzburg to Dortmund I believe
you're right you're right I wasthinking of uh yeah because he
tore up uh Austria the AustrianBundesliga before he went to the
(54:23):
German Bundesliga yeah he had 22goals um his second year at
Salzburg yeah because I want tosay was that when Jesse was that
when Jesse Marsh was there orwas that before Jesse Marsh that
had to be before Jesse Marshbecause that was 19 that was
2019 and I don't think Marsh wasthere no no well I just remember
(54:44):
that might have been rightbefore Jesse Marsh went there
because Jesse Marsh was in theRed Bull system at that point
but he might have been still atNew York Red Bulls or an
assistant at like Leipzig orsomething along those lines um
they could find head as coachintroductory but to answer your
question uh it I agree with youit's been Holland and friends I
(55:05):
would even say it's been Hollandand no one because he's been
he's basically been I was wronghe was at Salzburg for those two
years 2019 through 2021 JesseMarsh?
Yeah that's a blunder by nameyeah yeah but um yeah I'm sure
(55:26):
everyone's gonna hold thatagainst you because everyone's
asking number one who is JesseMarsh and number two red ball
saw Red Bull Salzburg is whereum so uh anyways um we um I
think it's been Holland and andno one really I mean it's which
is crazy to say when you've gotsuch when you look at their team
(55:48):
sheet and all the talent that'sat City um they they do have a
lot of good players but like youhaven't heard I mean am I wrong
you haven't heard a lot out ofAtnori yet who they got from
Wolves you've you haven't gottena lot out of Mar for as
promising as as his career gotoff to you haven't heard a lot
out of Marmoouche yet Marmoushwas on the bench um and came out
(56:09):
the sub yesterday so but I meanhe got out to a flyer when he
was acquired in January I meanhe was arguably say city's best
player at times um and um uh butHolland has just been Holland's
different different class anywayI mean he just he just he just
quietly scores goals I mean hejust he's he's about as he he's
(56:34):
about as um automatic as you getbut it's also looking like um
he's gonna get Norway toqualification so we'll get to
see him on the World Cup stagefor the first time.
Which which is good for allfootball fans.
SPEAKER_09 (56:48):
Oh I absolutely
agree to to to get to see him in
that yeah um I was afraid it wasgonna be one of those things
where you have a great playerfrom a not really a strong
football power right and that hewould never go because the
team's not as good but it lookslike that's fine.
SPEAKER_01 (57:05):
Where the Norwegian
women's team is usually better
than the men's team.
SPEAKER_09 (57:08):
Yeah yeah by some
distance so it's it's nice to
see that happen.
SPEAKER_01 (57:14):
Yeah um so it's not
just the US that that happens
okay no no it happens in NorwayI mean like like it's Holland
and then everybody else and Iwas gonna say the same thing
Donnie you and I are thinkingthe same thing tonight on
several wavelengths well I meanand then honestly before I get
to Norwegian footballers I Ilike the my after holland my
(57:39):
mind goes to to to femaleplayers there's guru rightton
there's Ingrid Engen there'slike so there's a lot more like
like the footballers I think ofin nor in Norway and then I
think of Staubeck and uh BobBradley so you know go figure.
And Bob Bradley's not evenNorwegian.
SPEAKER_09 (57:58):
So um yeah well I
mean that doesn't stop anybody
with me he coached the Egyptiannational team so Bob Bradley's
had a colorful managerial careerhas he not that's putting it
like yeah stab uh Egypt uh Iforgot about the Egypt I'm good
call I forgot about him beingthe Egyptian national team
(58:18):
manager that means he coachedMohammed Salah yep that's crazy
um but then uh but yeah thenSwansea with Bob Bradley and uh
yeah he's had a he's had a andnow uh now we got Graham Potter
managing Sweden where the boysare given everything um yeah so
(58:42):
uh who's been who's been yourmost surprising team of the
Premier League season so far uhBournemouth Bournemouth
Bournemouth uh not not because Ididn't think they were gonna be
like uh relegation contender itwasn't that but um they find a
way to win win games and like Isaid they pull they pull players
from the French second divisionthat all of a sudden look like
(59:03):
world beaters and and and listenI've said this before but I'll
say it again I I couldn't havebeen more more wrong on and
Donnie Irayola like when theybrought him in when they brought
him in I said who Donnie you andme buddy I know you and me buddy
you and me you didn't think Isaid you didn't think I said
(59:24):
irrayola did you well no no nowe're just we're just here
hanging out I'm eating myskittles we're learning for you
uh we're learning yeah well Ifeel like I know where you're
going with that but anywayswe're I'm eating my Skittles now
Aaron's not on the show so thosejokes don't so wait so wait
you're tasting the rainbow ohmost certainly I am uh huh that
(59:44):
c4 uh Skittles uh version of uhenergy drink let me tell you is
it good oh yeah I don't drinkmany energy drinks but um I live
on that shit right now but umhuh never actually One what I
got a bunch of energy.
I don't either.
SPEAKER_06 (01:00:04):
Oh, I got a lot of
energy, but it's my coffee.
And I I love honestly, I justlove the taste of it.
SPEAKER_01 (01:00:12):
But yeah, um I
didn't think that uh um I didn't
think the Bourne with was gonnabe this good either, but Irayola
has been a much better managerthan I thought than than I
thought he would be.
Because when they got rid ofIran Gary O'Neill uh before he
went to Wolves, I was like, after after what they did for
the whole season, like that wasum that was crazy.
(01:00:38):
So um this is like the oldschool front row versus back row
of your second favorite podcast.
SPEAKER_10 (01:00:46):
Yeah, we're I mean
Daniel and I are in the bottom.
Yeah, we're back row.
SPEAKER_09 (01:00:51):
No to to pivot for a
minute.
Um I just do want to say I lovethis group of people because on
a random Wednesday when I'mlaying in bed sick, I put on the
German Cup, uh German cup games.
I was looking for Kajuslider andplaying, and all of a sudden,
(01:01:14):
all four of us are watchingPadderborn against Leverkusen
because Paderborn was up, Ithink either 2-1 or was getting
close to tied.
Leverkusen ties it, and then itgoes to extra time.
And man, I still go back andthink about how fun that game
was.
That's what I was and that's asecond division against a first
(01:01:35):
division team at going to asecond division.
SPEAKER_10 (01:01:38):
Well, we have no
business watching this.
I know you said something aboutit, and I was like, it was
almost like the uh which Iwasn't there for it because I
fell asleep, but the impromptushow y'all did in the middle of
the night for the the uh the onethat you egged on and didn't
show up for, yeah, exactly,exactly.
But um, yeah, it was like all ofa sudden you said something
about it, and I was like, Well,I'm sitting here doing nothing.
(01:02:00):
Let me see what's going on withthis one.
And I hopped on and startedwatching it.
I'm like, damn, this is a goodgame.
SPEAKER_01 (01:02:04):
And yet I get in
trouble with Virgil whenever I
bring up Paderborn, yet he yet,and yet he brings it up.
SPEAKER_09 (01:02:10):
The only reason I
told you Paderborn is not a a
rival of Kaiser Slaughter.
My problem is Paderborn is in apromotional spot that should be
where Kaiserslaughtern is.
SPEAKER_01 (01:02:21):
Well, they don't
give an FCK, right?
SPEAKER_09 (01:02:23):
They don't give an F
CK, that's the problem.
And if um if uh Kaiser Slaughtercould stop doing draws, that'd
be kind of nice too.
They had a draw againstDusseldorf this week.
Another late one that looks likethey're gonna win, and then
Dusseldorf comes in and takesit.
SPEAKER_01 (01:02:36):
Isn't it yeah, yeah,
isn't it?
Isn't uh is is your next fixtureagainst Hertha Berlin?
Is that oh is that anotherupcoming one?
I thought I was I was trying tolook at the schedule because you
have me now following KaiserSlaudern's results, by the way.
SPEAKER_09 (01:02:50):
It should be yeah,
it should be here the next,
yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (01:02:53):
Yeah, so well the
and oh go ahead, sorry.
No, go ahead, Donny.
You were gonna say somethinguseful.
I was probably just gonna saysomething.
SPEAKER_10 (01:03:02):
I was gonna say I've
got to find something for this
Wednesday because that'll be youknow, that's two Wednesdays in a
row that I've gotten Virgil.
You know, I had the CanadianPremier League the week before
that I was watching, then that.
So I've got to come up withsomething this Wednesday.
SPEAKER_01 (01:03:15):
So surely the
Senegalese League is gonna have
it's gonna have something.
SPEAKER_10 (01:03:19):
I'm gonna find
something if I'm around.
Uh well actually I'll probablyI'll be working on on Wednesday,
so I may not be in a position tofind something, but I will try.
SPEAKER_09 (01:03:30):
We've got
technically going to Azerbaijan
this week.
Oh, that's right.
That is Wednesday.
SPEAKER_01 (01:03:39):
Can you please watch
Chelsea versus Karabagh?
SPEAKER_06 (01:03:44):
I'm I'm I'm hoping
for Karabagh uh win.
SPEAKER_10 (01:03:50):
No, that's actually
Thursday uh for Crystal.
SPEAKER_09 (01:03:57):
Yeah, Thursday
you're in the conference league
against um uh Azad Alkmar.
SPEAKER_01 (01:04:03):
Uh oh, that's gonna
be a good one.
SPEAKER_09 (01:04:05):
That should be a fun
one.
Well, if it was Azed at home, ataway, I think that'd be more
interesting.
Usually Dutch teams on the road.
Depends on the style thatthey're on.
SPEAKER_01 (01:04:15):
Oh, is it is this
one at Sellhurst?
SPEAKER_09 (01:04:17):
That's at Sellhurst,
yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (01:04:18):
Brother, there's a
lot of matches on Wednesday.
Listen, Azad Alkmar is gonna gettouched.
SPEAKER_06 (01:04:27):
Have you seen the
the amount of uh matches out
there on Wednesday starting atthree?
SPEAKER_09 (01:04:32):
Yes, and don't
forget the world the uh U-17
World Cup is also kicking off onWednesday, so I'll be keeping
track of that because the UnitedStates is in their first matches
against Burkina Faso.
SPEAKER_01 (01:04:47):
What's this in?
SPEAKER_09 (01:04:48):
Uh the U-17 World
Cup.
SPEAKER_06 (01:04:50):
U17.
SPEAKER_01 (01:04:51):
Oh we better beat
Burkina Faso.
SPEAKER_06 (01:04:56):
Ooh, ooh, ooh.
Who does Tottenham play?
No, uh Man Central ManchesterCity against uh Dortmund.
Man City's got that.
SPEAKER_00 (01:05:12):
Atletico against
Newcastle.
Athletic Club.
Oh look, it's uh it's Donnie'steam that he's following.
SPEAKER_09 (01:05:18):
That's Bobo.
SPEAKER_00 (01:05:19):
That's Bobo, that's
athletic.
SPEAKER_09 (01:05:22):
Then uh Is it wrong
for me to say the two games I'm
actually looking forward out ofthis batch has been Fica at
Leverkusen and Marseille againstum Atalanta?
SPEAKER_01 (01:05:34):
No, because uh
Marseille's actually performed
reasonably well in uh Europethis year.
Um they've they've had a coupletough results, like they should
have gotten a result againstReal Madrid, but uh they
absolutely destroyed Ajax.
SPEAKER_02 (01:05:51):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (01:05:53):
Of course, of
course, uh we could put together
a team of random 11 teens andprobably beat Ajax too.
But um yeah.
SPEAKER_09 (01:06:02):
I don't know.
I don't think the HCFC is gonnago far on that one.
Uh but Ajax play is at homeagainst Galatasserai.
And um, I just really wanted tosay Galatasserai because it's
fun to say.
SPEAKER_01 (01:06:13):
Who is who's home
against Galatasserai?
SPEAKER_09 (01:06:17):
Uh Ajax.
SPEAKER_01 (01:06:18):
Who who's Ajax
playing?
SPEAKER_09 (01:06:20):
Galataseray.
SPEAKER_01 (01:06:21):
Very nice.
Thank you.
SPEAKER_10 (01:06:22):
Um that that sounds
like a medicine on a commercial.
SPEAKER_01 (01:06:25):
Yeah, like a yeah,
one of my favorites is
Galataserai against Fenderbache.
SPEAKER_09 (01:06:30):
Oh, that's uh if you
have you ever seen Patrick, have
you ever seen the um I cannotremember who the host was, but
the the football factories showsthe one on Turkey is absolutely
insane.
If you guys are curious abouthooliganism in uh some of the
bigger uh some of the biggerclubs and um really countries
(01:06:52):
around the world, Turkey,Argentina, Poland, uh look up
football factories.
SPEAKER_06 (01:06:58):
They don't have
those anymore.
They don't have that anymore.
SPEAKER_09 (01:07:05):
Oh no, it's still
around, but there's there's the
um there was a it was adocumentary with one of the with
I think it was a guy from GreenStreet Hoogans.
I don't remember what show hewas on.
SPEAKER_06 (01:07:14):
Ooh, Christie
Hullian.
That's a good movie.
SPEAKER_09 (01:07:16):
But he um he was in
that yeah he won't he goes to
different uh countries andfollows some of the teams, like
some of the biggest rivalries.
Like when he's in Brazil, hefollows the Palermous versus uh
Grimio rivalry and some ofthose, and he's with like the
ultras during those, so he hegets into some really cagey uh
(01:07:40):
things and that.
SPEAKER_05 (01:07:41):
Yeah, where have I
seen him before?
SPEAKER_09 (01:07:48):
Oh, you're gonna go
to international football
factories?
SPEAKER_06 (01:07:51):
Yeah, I'd seen him
before somewhere.
I'm looking it up real quick.
The real football factories?
SPEAKER_09 (01:07:59):
Yeah, Danny Dyer's
Real Football Factories.
There's a there's a but there'sa domestic version with some of
the English clubs, but then he'sgone international.
He went international with themtoo.
SPEAKER_05 (01:08:09):
Damn it.
This thing, this thing is onApple TV Plus.
Currently unavailable.
SPEAKER_10 (01:08:19):
Damn, you weren't
kidding about all the games on
Wednesday.
I was scrolling down throughhere on EPS.
SPEAKER_04 (01:08:23):
I told you.
SPEAKER_10 (01:08:25):
I might text Virgil
and see how that Nairobi United
and Karobangi Sharks game isgonna be uh that may be on FIFA
Plus if you look for that, whichis a free service.
SPEAKER_01 (01:08:40):
And uh Eli's places
and all these other things.
I think we're gonna have aspin-off of this show called
Donnie's places.
He's gonna go to he's gonna goto all these different countries
to find a team to support.
That's right.
Um people mind doing thateither, right?
SPEAKER_09 (01:08:53):
I would I would
invest in that.
That'd be funny I would too.
SPEAKER_01 (01:08:56):
Like I listen to the
case.
I would invest in go at the sametime.
Listen, I want to I want to sendDonnie to Turkey and he's gonna
go over there and say, Yeah, which one which one of these
teams am I gonna support?
SPEAKER_10 (01:09:05):
Hey, if this show
has the budget for me to do it,
I'm on I'm on it.
SPEAKER_01 (01:09:08):
Listen, listen, uh
what do you think?
SPEAKER_09 (01:09:10):
Brasospor well, he's
he he saw Brussels um stadium.
True, true the one that electthe alligator.
SPEAKER_01 (01:09:21):
Well, the way you
know what he's gonna find a
local Turkish, like you know, supporters club in Colombia.
So, in other words, he's gonnaend up being like a Galatasaray
supporter.
I'm randomly gonna pick a teamin Turkey.
I'm gonna pick the I'm gonnapick the winningest team in
Turkey.
SPEAKER_09 (01:09:37):
I'm gonna call it
right now.
He's gonna find a uh a Turkishsupport group, and it's gonna be
Besakas.
SPEAKER_01 (01:09:43):
Oh it and and I'm
actually this is a genuine
question.
Which team is the winningest?
SPEAKER_09 (01:09:48):
Is it gala, is it
gala or is it I thought it was
Fennerbach?
I thought it was Fenerbachi.
Is it Fenner?
Let me let me take a look atthat while I forget.
SPEAKER_01 (01:09:57):
I keep mentioning
Galatasha, but they're more
recently like you know, really, you know, really dominating.
It's Fenner Fenner keeps likesacking managers because they
can't they can't keep up withGala.
SPEAKER_09 (01:10:10):
Uh Galatashara is
the winning of the Turkish
football club.
One of the big three withFenerbachie and Satoshi.
SPEAKER_01 (01:10:19):
Yeah.
Well, somehow, somehow atrandom, Daniel starts supporting
one of those.
It's like, in all of Germany,oh, um I randomly picked Bayern
Munich.
It's like, really?
Really?
Like, I don't know anythingabout them, but I randomly
picked the winningest team inGerman football.
SPEAKER_10 (01:10:37):
I literally had no
idea about how they were.
SPEAKER_09 (01:10:41):
We do have to give
him the benefit of the doubt
that he literally did not know, considering he didn't know how
to pronounce Bayern for like thefirst two weeks.
SPEAKER_01 (01:10:47):
Yeah, when he did
when he did Bayern Munich, yeah,
that's right.
SPEAKER_06 (01:10:52):
Bayern Munich, yeah.
I wouldn't take that from them,bro.
I would just be like, listen, bro, y'all need to come to hell
down.
Leave me the hell alone.
SPEAKER_10 (01:10:59):
Listen, and the way
they're rattling off all this
information and all these names.
Too much.
Hey, I was not wrong in mycomment.
I was not wrong.
SPEAKER_06 (01:11:08):
No, it's a lot, it's
a lot from these guys.
What do you mean?
Nothing.
Come on, move along.
Virgil got it, and thenPatrick's like, what?
Well, Patrick got it, he got it.
SPEAKER_10 (01:11:23):
He just played it.
He played um, he got it.
SPEAKER_09 (01:11:26):
I wanted to talk
about one one of your other
teams that did well in thechampionship, but you know what?
We're not going to anymore.
Yeah, yeah.
We're talking about Rexham.
So we won't talk about Wrexhambeating Coventry, which shocked
the crap out of me.
Oh, yeah, that's a big thing.
SPEAKER_10 (01:11:40):
That was a big
that's so what's the what's a
five?
What's the five?
What if if I got five teams atone, what's it's more than
what's more than a haul?
SPEAKER_09 (01:11:52):
Oh, uh, I don't know
what a five is.
Usually it's on backwards atsome point.
SPEAKER_01 (01:11:56):
Okay, I figured you
knew the term because I don't
know the term.
I think I think at five, it'sjust a murder, isn't it?
SPEAKER_06 (01:12:03):
Okay, I got a
murder.
That's a group of crows.
This is a murderer.
SPEAKER_01 (01:12:07):
There's a group of
crows, but you know what?
There's five crows somewhere,it's five o'clock somewhere.
SPEAKER_10 (01:12:12):
I didn't even think
about Rex and when I was going
over the teams that I uh I hadthat have won.
SPEAKER_09 (01:12:17):
So this is a very
unfortunate term, but it's
called a glut.
SPEAKER_10 (01:12:20):
A what?
Sorry, a come again.
SPEAKER_09 (01:12:22):
A glut.
SPEAKER_10 (01:12:23):
A glut.
SPEAKER_09 (01:12:24):
Oh, yes.
SPEAKER_01 (01:12:25):
So uh what happens
when you're a glutton for
punishment?
SPEAKER_10 (01:12:28):
Oh you what you you
know what?
I'm not even gonna say it.
It's not good.
SPEAKER_01 (01:12:36):
Listen, you miss you
just missed a great joke, your
loss.
Actually, your win, probably toto the other two, but uh you're
deshaun Watson.
That's what you are.
Whoa.
SPEAKER_10 (01:12:48):
If you're glut on
for punishment, whoa.
SPEAKER_09 (01:12:51):
Oh, I thought he
went the massage bar.
There's a lot I didn't knowabout.
SPEAKER_01 (01:12:54):
Yeah, and there was
five of them there.
Yes, and please please don't putme in the same category as
Deshaun Watson.
Thank you very much.
SPEAKER_10 (01:13:01):
No, I'm just saying
there there were probably five
of them there.
SPEAKER_06 (01:13:06):
You what aren't both
of you from Georgia?
SPEAKER_01 (01:13:10):
Ironically, we're in
we're near the same city in
Georgia.
That's that's the unfortunatepart.
Um listen, listen, I know I knowthe restaurant his street sign
is in, the one that you rightnext to a massage parlor.
SPEAKER_06 (01:13:25):
Please say there's a
massage parlor nearby.
SPEAKER_01 (01:13:27):
Not that I've found
the old spap and looking that
that doesn't mean that's notthat he's been looking.
Yeah, that doesn't mean they'rein one, but oh my god.
SPEAKER_04 (01:13:38):
Oh god, that's too
good.
SPEAKER_01 (01:13:40):
No, but no, but I
mean I I found the restaurant
where they they've at least gota one copy of the street sign
that was up before you know thatwas taken down.
SPEAKER_05 (01:13:49):
Um it's no longer
there.
SPEAKER_00 (01:13:52):
No, it's not.
So I was like they were quietlytaken down.
SPEAKER_06 (01:13:58):
Yeah.
No, I we talked about it thatthis morning, Mike.
He was not happy, I'll tell youthat.
SPEAKER_01 (01:14:06):
Well, and Donnie
keeps going on about oh, the
only the only other tough gamethey're gonna have is like South
Carolina, and he keepsoverlooking these teams and they
keep losing.
SPEAKER_10 (01:14:16):
I didn't say that
South Carolina was gonna be a
tough game.
I said it's a rivalry game, sowho knows how it'll go.
SPEAKER_09 (01:14:21):
I have to give
credit for Donnie for that.
He did not say that that wasgonna be the last tough game.
SPEAKER_01 (01:14:27):
Maybe in my head
that's what I heard.
I don't know.
SPEAKER_09 (01:14:29):
Yes, I'm pretty sure
that's what it was.
So this new some otherhousekeeping stuff, real quick.
SPEAKER_10 (01:14:33):
That means I'm
living rent-free.
SPEAKER_09 (01:14:34):
That before we move
on.
SPEAKER_10 (01:14:36):
Uh Clemson does, uh,
I won't lie.
SPEAKER_09 (01:14:38):
So uh Celtic has a
new manager after firing uh
Brendan Rodgers because when youare not don't they have
co-managers?
SPEAKER_01 (01:14:47):
Don't they have
co-managers at this point?
SPEAKER_09 (01:14:50):
If they have
co-managers, that means they
have no managers.
SPEAKER_01 (01:14:54):
Well, they've got
they've got like two caretakers
at the moment, and I don'treally know who's in charge.
There's Martin O'Neill and thenSean Maloney.
SPEAKER_09 (01:15:02):
I think Martin
O'Neill is the main one in
charge.
SPEAKER_01 (01:15:05):
Okay, am I wrong?
Then I guess Sean Maloney wouldbe like the the his assistant.
SPEAKER_09 (01:15:09):
I think that's how
to put that, yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (01:15:11):
Okay.
SPEAKER_09 (01:15:12):
So they um they had
to make a change because I said
they lost the hearts, and thenum, to make it worse, they tied
Rangers 1-1, which if you'retrying to catch up with a team
that's already nine pointsahead, having a draw is not
really gonna help you.
SPEAKER_05 (01:15:28):
Nope.
SPEAKER_09 (01:15:29):
So um a few other
things to talk about.
I want to go to the Italianleague for a moment.
Uh, first off, the completeshocker of Fiorentina being 19,
and I thought it was maybethey're injured and all that.
I watched their game againstEnter, and they are just
dreadful.
SPEAKER_01 (01:15:47):
Who's managing
Fiorentina right now?
SPEAKER_09 (01:15:50):
Uh, that's a good
question.
SPEAKER_01 (01:15:52):
Because I feel like
they lost their manager to
another job.
SPEAKER_09 (01:15:56):
I thought I just
have that up.
Let me find that real quick.
SPEAKER_01 (01:15:59):
It's not Giovanni
Trapitoni, is it?
No kidding.
Giovanni Trappitoni is probablylike 90 at this point.
SPEAKER_09 (01:16:08):
Oh, of course that's
not gonna be manager.
SPEAKER_01 (01:16:12):
Did Maurizio Sari
make his way?
Oh, it's Pioli.
SPEAKER_09 (01:16:16):
No, Pioli has just
been is gone.
SPEAKER_01 (01:16:21):
Well Pioli bought
him replaced by uh but but I
mean that's uh that's a prettybig uh like he was just in Saudi
Arabia before in Saudi beforethis.
SPEAKER_09 (01:16:30):
Oh yes, that's
definitely that's definitely a
pretty big name to uh because hewas he was he was at Milan for
like five five years.
And they have David De Gea inBully.
So like I said, they've gotthey've got they've got some
good players, but also playerson the older side.
SPEAKER_01 (01:16:48):
Apparently
apparently they've got the menu
the they've got like the lastyear of Man United De Gea rather
than yeah, but they're not lastin uh serie A because that
belongs actually.
SPEAKER_09 (01:17:02):
No, I have to take
that back.
They are last in Serie A becauseGenoa, who was last before I
took a look at the table again, won their game and they fired
their coach.
Do you know who their coach was,Patrick?
Patrick Vieira, exactly, someonewho I didn't even know was
coaching.
SPEAKER_01 (01:17:17):
Well, I only knew I
only knew that he was still with
them because I knew he wentthere, but I only knew he was
still with them because AtlanticUnited was linked with them, and
I said, please no, please no.
SPEAKER_09 (01:17:26):
But the last thing I
want to talk about in Italy, um,
I saw a name appear on a scoresheet recently of someone who I
did not even realize left theirclub.
And that is uh are you from thewith the uh team Criminese?
SPEAKER_01 (01:17:41):
I am, and in fact, I
knew before you said that I knew
who I know who you were gonna betalking about.
SPEAKER_09 (01:17:47):
Mr.
Vardi, Mr.
Lester Lesen Legend himself hasscored a grace in Italy, and
usually Jamie Vardi I find Ifind it intriguing keeping track
of English players that are umplaying in other leagues because
usually you don't it's I'm notgonna say it's rare, but you
partly kind of see that, sosomething else to keep an eye
(01:18:10):
on.
SPEAKER_01 (01:18:10):
Yeah, well, I mean
Donnie's the one that kept me up
to date on that.
He goes, he said, Did you knowthat Jamie Vardy went to
Creminense?
And I was like, excuse me, andthen he was giving me all these
little stats and everythingelse.
So thank you, Donnie.
SPEAKER_09 (01:18:24):
I I impress with
you, Donnie.
SPEAKER_01 (01:18:26):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_09 (01:18:28):
All right, so
Donnie's in a rich vein.
SPEAKER_01 (01:18:32):
Donnie's in a rich
vein of form with his soccer
knowledge, I gotta tell you.
In all seriousness, you've donea really good job of like
spouting out stats andeverything else.
You've done considering you'vebeen like a Palace supporter for
five for like five seconds, you've done a really good job
about learning the club.
I'm very impressed.
SPEAKER_05 (01:18:49):
You're muted.
SPEAKER_10 (01:18:50):
Can't hear you, but
um sorry, the ice maker was
going off a minute ago, and I'mmuted.
Um, yeah, I've uh I'm searchinguh right now for a uh South
Carolina chapter of an Italianleague club and a big NAP
showing up somewhere.
No, just kidding.
(01:19:11):
Napoli.
SPEAKER_01 (01:19:12):
Anyway, nah I swear
if you have a Napoli if you have
a Napoli supporters group inColombia, I freaking swear.
I have no problem with that.
Neither no, but I'm just saying, like, in all in of all places,
like if Lexington or or likeColumbia has a specific Napoli
watch what they do, watch whatthey do.
(01:19:33):
They will, they will like ACMilan.
Mate Milan, I would not besurprised at all, but like
you're starting to get a littlelike Napoli's a big club, but
you're starting to get you know, like down the weeds a little bit
when you start going with theNapoli's and as far as
supporters as far as supportersclub.
SPEAKER_07 (01:19:51):
You're actually
Sassulolo or something.
You what?
You're acting like he saidSassulolo or something.
SPEAKER_01 (01:19:57):
Oh, I well, I
wouldn't be surprised.
He keeps accusing me of pickingthe best team in the league.
I wouldn't be surprised ifSasuolo, you know, had a had a
club there, and they're a hugeclub.
But uh Massive club.
Massive club.
But but uh Virgil and I willstick with Palermo.
SPEAKER_09 (01:20:14):
Uh bring on the Pink
Kets.
Oh, I hope to see them back inSerie A.
That that's a team that gets tobe high.
SPEAKER_01 (01:20:19):
Are they in Serie B
anymore?
SPEAKER_09 (01:20:21):
That's a good
question.
SPEAKER_01 (01:20:22):
I think they are
because I was gonna say they had
a precipitous fall from Grace.
At least that's what Ed told me.
SPEAKER_06 (01:20:27):
Uh uh Donnie, there
is a uh Napoli Club Carolina,
the first national, the firstNapoli fan club connecting fans
across North and South Carolina.
Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_02 (01:20:40):
Come on.
SPEAKER_06 (01:20:40):
It's on it's on
Twitter.
I swear, I'm not kidding.
SPEAKER_01 (01:20:43):
Oh my gosh.
He's gonna he's gonna get caughtup with them and he's gonna say,
I'm gonna end up at the StadioSan Paolo.
SPEAKER_06 (01:20:48):
Granted, they
haven't done anything for like a
long time, but it they're there.
So just so you know.
Also, a Phoenix Club you canbring back.
SPEAKER_01 (01:20:55):
Donnie's gonna
Donnie's gonna throw Donnie's
gonna get a hold of that accountand he's gonna throw up a few
selfies in front of their uhhome pub, and uh it's gonna
reinvigorate everything, andhe's gonna say he's gonna have a
McTominay jersey on, and uh, youknow, say he's uh that he that
he's um Neapolitan.
Oh yeah, I see that now.
SPEAKER_09 (01:21:16):
So they are they are
fifth in Serie B right now.
SPEAKER_01 (01:21:18):
Palermo is?
SPEAKER_09 (01:21:19):
Yes.
SPEAKER_01 (01:21:20):
Good for them.
Because that because that thathasn't been the case recently.
SPEAKER_08 (01:21:24):
No, no, no.
SPEAKER_01 (01:21:26):
No, but but but
Napoli speaking of Napoli's been
struggling a little bit thisseason.
And is Antonio Conte's job injeopardy?
No, I don't think so.
Unless he forms unless he getsup and storms out like he does.
SPEAKER_06 (01:21:39):
Uh Donnie, I asked
uh Google Gemini.
Okay, you ready for this?
Uh-huh.
There is no dedicated Napolibackers group, official or
unofficial fan club, locatedspecifically within South uh
Columbia, South Carolina.
However, there is a regionalgroup called the Napoli Club
Carolina, which connects fansacross both North and South
(01:21:59):
Carolina.
For watching games in Columbia, you can go to the British
Bulldog pub, uh Public House, also other live sports bars in
Hickory Tavern and Twin Peaks.
So just so you know, there'ssome options for you.
Wait, Davy Boy Smith is a Napolisupporter?
SPEAKER_09 (01:22:14):
That seems to me.
SPEAKER_01 (01:22:17):
Huh.
By the way, um, since you're aNapoli supporter now, Donnie,
isn't is Maradona gonna end upbeing their top scorer this
season or what?
SPEAKER_10 (01:22:26):
Sure.
unknown (01:22:28):
I don't know.
SPEAKER_10 (01:22:30):
But I will go uh I
will go to the British Bulldog
pub and uh and and no more teamsresearch.
SPEAKER_04 (01:22:36):
Oh I just heard, I
just heard it, I just heard it,
I just heard it.
No more teams, no more teams.
SPEAKER_10 (01:22:43):
Damn it.
I didn't mute the butt.
SPEAKER_04 (01:22:45):
Hit the mute button.
Oh man.
SPEAKER_02 (01:22:47):
No more teams.
SPEAKER_10 (01:22:53):
Yeah, don't get me
in trouble, boys.
SPEAKER_04 (01:22:57):
You're in trouble,
bro.
SPEAKER_00 (01:22:58):
Hey, hey, it's Ed's
faith.
SPEAKER_06 (01:22:59):
No more teams, it's
Ed's fault.
SPEAKER_09 (01:23:01):
I couldn't hear that
first one, but I heard more
teams.
SPEAKER_06 (01:23:03):
Yeah, yeah, I didn't
hear the no.
All I heard is more teams.
SPEAKER_09 (01:23:07):
Yeah, no, I think
that I think I think that's a
comma.
It's like, no, more teams.
That's what I mean.
SPEAKER_01 (01:23:13):
Oh man, I love
Rhonda Wise.
Oh man.
SPEAKER_04 (01:23:21):
This is great.
Yeah, I love it.
Oh my god, that's too funny.
Too funny.
SPEAKER_09 (01:23:25):
So there is one more
thing soccer-related, we do need
to talk about.
And while this is kind of um, isit more domestic related than
Premier League related, but itinvolves a Premier League
person?
So the Premier League, a formerPremier League chief, Tony
Scholes, not related to PaulPatrick, um is um leading the uh
(01:23:45):
leading the USL change from uhrelegation the for promotion
relegation.
Um when I first saw this news, Iwas thinking, is this some kind
of disgraced guy that left?
And like how like how former washe?
And it's like, oh, that was hiscurrent job.
SPEAKER_01 (01:24:02):
Yeah.
So he's not former.
He he wasn't former until heaccepted this position, right?
SPEAKER_09 (01:24:08):
So this is um to put
it very lightly, kind of a big
deal.
SPEAKER_06 (01:24:14):
That means this is
picking up some steam of what
we've been talking about for awhile now, right?
SPEAKER_00 (01:24:19):
Relegation.
Well, the word that came to mindfor me is like is legitimacy.
SPEAKER_06 (01:24:26):
Oh, okay.
I like that.
SPEAKER_01 (01:24:27):
Yeah, no, I'm just
saying, in terms of like you've
got someone who knows how ProRelworks in Tony Skulls, and um
you've got some so it it it's itit's yeah, it's that and it's
also credibility.
He's the he's uh he's divisionone president, yeah.
Legitimacy and credibility.
SPEAKER_06 (01:24:47):
So that's big time.
SPEAKER_01 (01:24:48):
Well, I mean, you
know, ideally in a perfect
world, you'd have MLS jumping onto play nice, but you know that
ain't gonna happen.
Um, they love their franchisemodel and they're gonna stick to
that, but it's still gonna makeUSL a fun product to watch.
SPEAKER_06 (01:25:03):
Um the problem is if
if MLS is not careful, USL can
you know definitely jump intopopularity and then overtake MLS
in a couple years.
SPEAKER_01 (01:25:17):
Well, it depends on
it depends on what kind of
players you can attract to USL.
Yeah, I mean it's only gonna beas good, it's only gonna be as
good as the level of player thatyou can attract.
And let's face it, no Europeanplayer is ever gonna go to USL
before they go to MLS.
SPEAKER_06 (01:25:34):
No, no, but I think
we're definitely years away from
established Premier Leagueplayers, established Premier
League players.
SPEAKER_01 (01:25:42):
But I'm not saying
it can't happen.
SPEAKER_06 (01:25:43):
No, no, no, no, no,
no.
I agree.
I I'm just saying that we'restill years away from legitimacy
of the USL and and but at leastthis is a massive step into what
you know.
We here's the one thing that uhit bugs me about Premier League
and all that relegation.
I love relegation.
I just wish at the top theywould have a playoff format
(01:26:07):
instead of just like the topteam up the top team one, we're
gonna good.
Congratulations.
You're saying in USL?
No, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_00 (01:26:15):
In Premier League,
you know, see, I'm not see
that's the thing, though.
SPEAKER_06 (01:26:20):
You're old school
dudes are like, oh no, no, no,
can't have that, don't ruin it.
Bring some playoff system, let'sgo.
SPEAKER_01 (01:26:28):
I don't want to
Americanize the English system.
Playoffs are an American are anAmerican thing, not shit.
Yeah, yeah.
I am not a fan of bringing thatto the Premier League.
Why not?
Why tell me why?
What because I like the way thatit works.
SPEAKER_06 (01:26:46):
I think that because
okay, so the one team that's at
the top at the beginning of theseason, or whoever at the end of
the season, that's the one whowho is named champion.
That's it.
SPEAKER_01 (01:26:53):
There is no playoff
format in which you know because
because whoever can be the mostconsistent over 38 games
deserves to win the title.
SPEAKER_00 (01:27:02):
I just don't I don't
I don't agree with that.
I think there should be aplayoff format.
I agree with the relegation.
SPEAKER_01 (01:27:08):
You think that, but
I but I'm saying, like, you
know, that's gonna be it'llnever happen in the Premier
League.
I know that.
Well, I'm saying, but um, I likethe like I like the fact that
it's different that way.
Like I I like you have cupcompetitions to try to work with
you know outside the league totry to win things.
SPEAKER_10 (01:27:25):
So Patrick's then
morphed into Greg Sankey here.
SPEAKER_01 (01:27:29):
Yes, my god.
I've what you've morphed intoGreg Sankey, yeah.
SPEAKER_10 (01:27:34):
Sure do that's such
an SEC answer right there.
I'm I'm happy about how thingsare.
SPEAKER_06 (01:27:39):
Yeah, just let him
be.
Can't touch her, don't touch it.
SPEAKER_01 (01:27:43):
No, I just think
it's the magic, I think it's the
magic of the Premier League thatway.
SPEAKER_06 (01:27:46):
It is not listen,
I'm not saying it's not a put
you.
You know how much much more funyou'll have, let's say the top
four teams go into a playoffformat system, and then the
winners, you know, the two topgo and again and win the
championship.
Yeah, that makes it a lot moreinteresting.
There's a lot more story to tellin a in a system in which you
have the top four teams put, let's just say, in the Premier
(01:28:07):
League.
SPEAKER_01 (01:28:07):
I want to get Virgil
in on this.
Virgil, uh Ed sounds like one ofthose American owners that takes
over an English and an EnglishPremier League club.
He said he wants to he said hewants to see playoffs introduced
to the English Premier League.
SPEAKER_09 (01:28:23):
Top playoffs.
They already have playoffs.
That's called the uh promotionplayoffs down the championship
league.
SPEAKER_01 (01:28:30):
Yeah, well, he wants
to he wants to see the the top
explain.
Yeah, explain Ed what you wantto see, please.
SPEAKER_06 (01:28:37):
You have already the
relegation system, which is I am
a huge imassive fan ofrelegation.
I love it.
When my point is, let's say thatyou grab the top four teams in
the Premier League and then havea playoff format system, the
top, you know, the you know, oneagainst four, four, you know,
two against three, then the thewinners go into a championship
format.
But like the fact that like thetop team automatically wins it,
(01:29:00):
and then there's no like youknow, no five, just I don't like
it.
I so what's the point in playing38 games?
What's the point of playing 162games and then you got another
you know game system in in MajorLeague Baseball?
SPEAKER_01 (01:29:15):
Because we're in
America where they do playoffs.
SPEAKER_09 (01:29:18):
Yeah, I'm not I'm
not I'm not gonna sign off on
that.
SPEAKER_01 (01:29:21):
That's kind of and
by the way, I didn't realize
Todd Bowley joined our show.
SPEAKER_10 (01:29:29):
Well, while you were
away, Virgil, the the because
Patrick was making his argumentthat you know that he liked it
the way it is, and the top teamafter 38 games should be to
crown the champion, and I calledhim Greg Sankey.
So he's you know got that goingon.
SPEAKER_09 (01:29:44):
Wait a minute, wait
a minute, wait a minute, hold
on, hold on, hold on.
SPEAKER_06 (01:29:48):
He's not wrong.
SPEAKER_09 (01:29:50):
That no out of those
thirty-eight games, how many of
them are hypothetical games?
Because that's what uh that'swhat a Greg Sankey would be.
SPEAKER_10 (01:30:05):
Well, the SEC wants
their their teams to be the top
teams, and and whoever's thebest one of those is the
champion everywhere.
SPEAKER_01 (01:30:11):
That's not that's
not an apples to apples
comparison.
SPEAKER_10 (01:30:14):
I know, I'm joking.
SPEAKER_09 (01:30:15):
But see, the
difference though is just that
you know, and I don't even knowif this is true for MLS, so if
this is not, do all the teamsplay each other in MLS?
No, that's your problem.
SPEAKER_01 (01:30:27):
Yeah, because well,
because you only play certain
you play multiple teams, youplay eastern conference teams
multiple times, but you onlyplay certain West Coast.
You have the NFL three years, yeah.
It's like every three years.
SPEAKER_09 (01:30:42):
Yeah, that's why you
have a playoff system because
you don't go through a regularseason where you're not playing
every single team at the PremierLeague and all the other
domestic leagues, you areplaying them twice.
SPEAKER_00 (01:30:55):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_09 (01:30:56):
So that's why I
don't think a playoff would be
necessary.
SPEAKER_01 (01:30:59):
Well, uh and I think
that your reward consistency
over 38 games, right?
Like, really at the end of 38games, the the the the table
doesn't lie.
Yeah, you're gonna have certaingames where you deserve three
points.
There's certain games whereyou're not gonna earn three
points, and there's gonna bedraws somewhere in there where
you're like you don't earn it,but usually it balances itself
(01:31:20):
out over the course of 38 games.
SPEAKER_06 (01:31:22):
Well, call me call
me someone who likes to see
chaos.
Uh and I just want to saylisteners still have chaos in
it.
I like that.
SPEAKER_01 (01:31:31):
Well, when Donnie
and Ed want to introduce the
all-star game into the EnglishPremier League, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_05 (01:31:37):
Slow down, slow
down.
No, let's not get a star.
SPEAKER_01 (01:31:40):
I just want to say
you want to introduce playoffs.
SPEAKER_06 (01:31:43):
You apparently see
an all-star game in any sport at
any point anymore.
SPEAKER_10 (01:31:48):
So let's I didn't
say that I was totally agreeing
with Ed either.
I you didn't jump off the ship.
Look who's jumping off the ship.
I like I like what what there isthere.
I mean, I like how the lowerleagues kind of have that going
for them to get to the PremierLeague, and I'm okay with the
Premier League saying, hey, whoever's the best team
(01:32:10):
throughout the season here isgonna be the champion.
SPEAKER_06 (01:32:13):
That just gives you
more game, more matches to play.
SPEAKER_10 (01:32:16):
Oh, all that's all
I'm saying is well, they play
all these other cups and stuffin the meantime as well, so
there is kind of some of thatgoing on in you gotta remember
with some of the drama for thelast day, it's not always
relegation drama.
SPEAKER_09 (01:32:29):
There could be
somebody fighting for a place in
Europe, like a champions leagueversus I'm with you guys, I get
it.
SPEAKER_06 (01:32:35):
I'm I'm not
disagreeing with the FA Cup or
the Carabao Cup.
I like those games, I will punchyou in the throat.
All I'm saying is at the end ofthe the the Premier League
season, why not have a four-teamplayoff system?
(01:32:55):
I think that's that'sexcitement.
SPEAKER_01 (01:32:57):
Well, there but like
Virgil was referencing earlier,
it's not in the Premier League, but there are leagues.
I know in the championship.
Well, well, but there's it's noteven so much the championship,
but is it Virgil?
Correct me if I'm wrong, is itis it France?
Is it Spain where they do thator France?
Where like the you know howthere's or is it Germany where
there's the uh the relegationand then there's the promotion
(01:33:19):
places in the uh in the in thefirst and second division?
SPEAKER_09 (01:33:22):
So yeah, Germany has
the uh the last the bottom two
teams get relegated, then theeighth place team plays the
third place or fourth placegame.
That's what Bundesliga two for apromotion relegation playoff.
SPEAKER_01 (01:33:37):
Which I think that I
think that's kind of a cool
thing.
SPEAKER_09 (01:33:40):
One of the things
that Daphne, I think it's the
Belgian league that does this.
Um in the they will play theirseason and then they will split
off between a winner's bracketand a loser's bracket.
So in a way, so you kind of havea playoff scenario in that case.
So different different leaguesdo have different things.
SPEAKER_06 (01:33:59):
La Liga does the
same thing as Europe, as uh uh
Premier League, where they havethe um playoff system for
promotion relegation with the uhsegunda DBCO.
That's it.
So I'm just saying, I just thinkit would be cool to see.
My bad, I brought it, you know, something to just you know all
(01:34:20):
of a sudden get off my lawn, youknow.
SPEAKER_00 (01:34:22):
No, no, no.
SPEAKER_06 (01:34:23):
Don't ruin things
for the rest of us.
SPEAKER_01 (01:34:25):
Listen, NIP right
here, not in my backyard.
SPEAKER_06 (01:34:30):
Get off my lawn.
SPEAKER_00 (01:34:31):
Yeah, you know who's
the old guy now?
Virgil's no longer you righthere, 40 this week, baby.
So I'm the old guy now.
SPEAKER_09 (01:34:38):
Uh quick aside, hey,
remember when you guys said the
Dallas Cowboys were gonna killthe Cardinals?
How that's working for you.
SPEAKER_03 (01:34:44):
Row.
SPEAKER_01 (01:34:45):
Not too well.
Wait, how is CeeDee Lamb doing?
Because I've got investedinterest in this game.
Not too well.
I was down by 30.
I I'll be I'll fully go aheadand say I'm a Donnie Wise fan in
this game right now.
SPEAKER_09 (01:34:58):
I do.
But I don't I was down about 30points.
I had one player left.
He had two players left.
My player was Jacoby Bursett, and I am now down 16 points.
SPEAKER_06 (01:35:11):
I'm gonna win my
league, my game.
I'm not gonna win mine.
SPEAKER_01 (01:35:16):
Against your lovely
wife.
Ooh, you are winning.
Yes, sir.
SPEAKER_08 (01:35:24):
Good for you.
SPEAKER_00 (01:35:25):
Wow, you finally had
a former Browns quarterback that
hit.
Yeah, Joe Flackle, 30 points.
Golly.
SPEAKER_09 (01:35:33):
All right, so
speaking of football, let's
transition Marvin Harrison Jr.,by the way.
I know to FCS.
SPEAKER_06 (01:35:42):
Do you know what it
is?
And I'm sorry, I'll bring I'llset up, but you know what it is?
He actually has an actualquarterback that can see over
the uh offensive line that canthrow the ball to him.
Or that can actually playquarterback.
Okay, and actually playquarterback.
SPEAKER_01 (01:35:56):
Yeah, uh another
another former Brown, by the
way.
SPEAKER_10 (01:36:00):
Correct.
SPEAKER_06 (01:36:01):
Jacoby Brissett.
Well, he all the most.
SPEAKER_10 (01:36:05):
And before we finish
soccer, uh don't don't sleep on
the uh Canadian Premier LeagueChampionship on Sunday.
You gotta watch a quarter ofCalvary.
It's 5 p.m.
on Sunday the 9th.
SPEAKER_01 (01:36:17):
Are you gonna be
there with Jesse Marsh to watch
it?
SPEAKER_10 (01:36:20):
Uh defending
champion Calvary looks to go for
the repeat against uh AtleticoOttawa.
SPEAKER_06 (01:36:26):
I don't know.
I might I I don't know.
We'll see.
If I have time, if I'm allowed.
I might I I am watching um uhthe uh North Carolina uh team
play this weekend here in Kerry.
SPEAKER_01 (01:36:38):
So North Carolina
Courage?
No, that's the women's team.
Yeah, but you're watching likethe the USL North Carolina USL.
SPEAKER_06 (01:36:49):
No, uh uh North
Carolina FC.
SPEAKER_09 (01:36:52):
Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_06 (01:36:53):
Birmingham Legion?
SPEAKER_09 (01:36:55):
No, no, not that.
So let's let's talk.
Are you just naming random teamsnow?
SPEAKER_01 (01:37:02):
Ford Madison?
SPEAKER_09 (01:37:04):
Okay, let's just
let's let's just move on from
this.
So a lot of FC has to talkabout, and I'm gonna go ahead
and just say this now.
We're gonna talk about MercerFurman for a minute.
At one point, Furman was up13-0, and I may have been trying
to find a way not to do thisshow at that time.
(01:37:26):
Because I was thinking tomyself, dear lord, Mercer's
gonna F this up.
SPEAKER_01 (01:37:32):
Well, because you
because you don't want you
didn't want to be cooked uhalong with Phil's chili, right?
When he doesn't have chilicook-off.
SPEAKER_09 (01:37:39):
I did not want to be
burned like I did not want to be
cooked like his uh carne asadatacos.
SPEAKER_01 (01:37:44):
Oh that sounds good
right now.
It does sound good.
Carne asada.
SPEAKER_09 (01:37:51):
But there were some
games that we we picked that
were actually some pretty goodones, some a little surprising,
but there's one that we did notlook over because I did not
expect this.
Indiana State, the Sycamores gointo Brookings, South Dakota,
and beat South Dakota State.
SPEAKER_06 (01:38:08):
I did not see that
coming.
SPEAKER_09 (01:38:10):
By far has to be the
worst loss in that program's
history, like recent history.
SPEAKER_01 (01:38:15):
110.
Yeah, and so the so the so theLarry Birds went into South
Dakota and won?
SPEAKER_09 (01:38:22):
The Larry Birds went
into South Dakota, yeah.
SPEAKER_06 (01:38:25):
They did.
What did I tell you though?
What did I tell you about thethe Norfolk Delaware game?
It was gonna be a good one.
SPEAKER_09 (01:38:34):
Uh yeah, and it was
definitely not a good one.
SPEAKER_06 (01:38:37):
Yeah, it was not for
you guys.
SPEAKER_09 (01:38:40):
No, no, I'll be
fair.
It was actually it was actuallya pretty fun game.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_06 (01:38:45):
Did I pick that
correctly?
Just so I wanna for my own.
SPEAKER_09 (01:38:49):
Yes, yes, you you
picked that one correctly.
Congratulations.
SPEAKER_01 (01:38:52):
I'm glad you got a
correct pick this weekend
because I don't think I don'tthink I picked one game
correctly.
SPEAKER_09 (01:38:56):
You're not Patrick,
you're not last, I will tell you
that.
Uh it's it's me though.
No, it's not you.
SPEAKER_06 (01:39:02):
So I did pick some
wild games all.
SPEAKER_09 (01:39:05):
You did pick Donnie,
it's not you either.
SPEAKER_06 (01:39:08):
So we actually let
it be Eric.
SPEAKER_09 (01:39:11):
It's not Eric.
So we have dang it.
I don't know who that leaves, but let's just move on from
that.
So we actually have a winlessteam that has won a game.
SPEAKER_06 (01:39:22):
Oh, yeah, let's go
ahead.
SPEAKER_09 (01:39:24):
Now, without you
guys looking, I want you to see
if you can guess who betweenMurray State, Portland State,
and St.
Francis.
Donnie, I know you're looking atyour screen.
You're you're uh I can see thereflection off your scattering
your glasses.
SPEAKER_10 (01:39:37):
I did have the
scores up here because I was
looking for something else, butI I don't I didn't look at any
of that because I wasn't lookingfor that.
I'm gonna go St.
Francis.
You're gonna go St.
Francis?
Okay.
I thought I think it's MurrayState still.
Same.
SPEAKER_09 (01:39:51):
It is actually the
least likely answer.
SPEAKER_06 (01:39:54):
Portland.
SPEAKER_09 (01:39:54):
Portland State had
won the first game, and it
wasn't even against Lincoln, itwas against Cal Poly 40 to 35.
SPEAKER_06 (01:40:04):
And they'll be a
front war.
SPEAKER_09 (01:40:07):
I watched some of
this one just to see.
Okay, is this Cal Poly being bador Portland State kind of turned
around?
Yeah, they look like a prettygood.
They they look like theyprobably got together a little
bit now.
Well, probably not.
This may be their only win, butgood win for Portland's state.
SPEAKER_01 (01:40:22):
Good for them.
SPEAKER_09 (01:40:23):
They thought it got
through.
SPEAKER_01 (01:40:26):
Virgil, I I would
like to talk about uh Tarleton
State and uh and AbileneChristian, but first of all, on
behalf of Abilene Christian, Ijust want to apologize for even
wanting to bring that up becauseyou know, like our our program
is not about that.
You know, I just want to goahead and apologize for
celebrating you know thatresult.
(01:40:46):
So just okay.
SPEAKER_09 (01:40:48):
Is there something I
am missing with this?
Yeah, I saw I saw the apologyand I was like, what are we
apologizing for?
I'm I must have missedsomething.
SPEAKER_01 (01:40:58):
So immediately after
the game, uh Abilene Christian's
uh social media outlet, I guess, posted something that was I
don't remember the exactmessage, but apparently it was
you know, I guess critical or oryou know making fun of Tarleton
State.
SPEAKER_09 (01:41:15):
Well, I saw I
thought they said Tarleton's not
a state.
I saw that.
SPEAKER_01 (01:41:19):
Yeah, well, but you
know, I guess it's just like the
banter back and forth, and um Idon't even think that a lot of
people even thought a lot aboutit, but but then they issued
that apology, and now people aresaying that Abilene might have
to like you know um issue anapot an apology for the apology
because because because no onein Abilene is you know, everyone
(01:41:41):
in Abilene is like there wasnothing wrong with it, and even
Charlton State's like honestly,if we'd won, we would have done
it.
So like a lot of people.
I was just gonna say the samething.
So wait, is that S-A-W-F-T soft?
SPEAKER_09 (01:41:58):
No, I think that's
uh SWAT.
What?
SPEAKER_01 (01:42:03):
So let's talk about
S-A-W-F T.
SWAT.
At least Virgil gets that.
SPEAKER_09 (01:42:10):
Uh uh yes, I I do
get that.
You are the realest guy in theroom, Patrick.
SPEAKER_01 (01:42:14):
So wait a second,
I'm doing I'm doing my little
dance.
SPEAKER_09 (01:42:18):
So the Carleton
State Appelaine Christian game,
um, Appelaine Christian lookslike they had him dead to
rights.
Because before the um fourthquarter, it was 28 to 10.
Actually, I think it was 31 to10, I think.
No, wait, no, 28 to 10.
SPEAKER_02 (01:42:33):
28 to 10.
SPEAKER_09 (01:42:34):
Carlton State scores
18 unanswered to tie the game
up.
Adeline Christian goes down, kicks the field goal to win the
game.
Uh, definitely probably the bestgame uh of this week.
The question that I have um, howdo you gauge Carleton at this
point?
Because that's going into a gamelike that against a rival, a
(01:42:58):
good ACU team.
I know they're four and four,but that's not a bad team.
Um losing by three.
I don't expect them actually Idon't pull up rankings.
I don't know how far they wentdown, if they even went down.
SPEAKER_01 (01:43:10):
I feel like Tarleton
State went into that game
underestimating AdelineChristian.
Which I mean they shouldn'thave, but I feel like they went
in kind of overlooking thembased on ACU's record.
SPEAKER_06 (01:43:26):
Charlton State went
down five spots.
SPEAKER_09 (01:43:28):
I think that's a
little harsh.
I mean, I guess being over LeeHigh, I mean they're they're
they're under the the two otherundefeated with Lee High and
Tennessee Tech.
I guess.
But Monmouth went uh leaked themover oh I'm I'm looking at the
uh stats perform FCS uh FCS top25, not the coaches.
SPEAKER_10 (01:43:52):
Oh, okay.
I was gonna say coaches areseventh.
SPEAKER_09 (01:43:57):
Seventh is a little
harsh to me.
I don't I think they're betterthan Monmouth, honestly.
Um say being at nine surprisedto me.
I thought they dropped further.
SPEAKER_06 (01:44:08):
I can't I want to
give my I've been I've been
pushing this team this all thiswhole season, and then they
dropped five spots.
SPEAKER_09 (01:44:17):
I was really
disappointed in that game.
I must have uh North Dakota.
SPEAKER_06 (01:44:22):
North Dakota.
SPEAKER_01 (01:44:25):
Yeah, I did there
were a lot of upsets this
weekend, or was it just me?
Yeah, there were no there weresome crazy games.
SPEAKER_09 (01:44:31):
There were a few
upsets this weekend.
Um usually some of the becauseone of the other things that we
didn't talk about before, uhLamar also lost, and they lost
they lost to Incarnate Worth.
That's where it always alwaysends up showing up in picks and
never comes through, but theydid beat Lamar, and that's
Lamar's first loss in theconference.
(01:44:52):
They are now seven and two.
And I think that's their firstFCS loss because yeah, they lost
to North Texas for their firstgame.
SPEAKER_01 (01:45:02):
So technically
that's their yeah, they're no
longer is that is that NorthTexas with future Oklahoma State
head coach Eric Morris?
Here's open Texas, you what?
SPEAKER_09 (01:45:11):
Here's open.
SPEAKER_01 (01:45:12):
I'm just saying, if
it ain't Sabin, it's gonna be
Eric Morris.
SPEAKER_09 (01:45:16):
It's not gonna be
Saban.
It is well.
SPEAKER_10 (01:45:18):
What I can't figure
out is how Presbyterian dropped
another spot beating Valparaiso43-14.
SPEAKER_09 (01:45:25):
I mean, remember how
Patrick was saying that we could
like form a soccer team andscore against um Fiorentina?
SPEAKER_01 (01:45:31):
We can probably
field a football team and score
against listen, they they needto get Bryce true, they need to
get Bryce Drew on the footballfield.
That's the only chance thatValpo has.
SPEAKER_09 (01:45:42):
Yeah, I mean the
that there's bad FCS teams and
then there's Valpo.
SPEAKER_01 (01:45:47):
Valpo.
Yeah.
By the way, I do want to give uhI do want to give Youngstown
State some credit.
Oh, absolutely.
Giving North Dakota State such agood game.
Um and they still dropped youcalled the Ed.
I think you called that, didn'tyou?
Or did you did you pickYoungstown to win?
Or did you was that a spreadgame that we had?
SPEAKER_09 (01:46:06):
No, it's spread
game.
SPEAKER_01 (01:46:07):
Yeah, because I
think you were the one that said
they're gonna keep it close.
That they were gonna keep itclose.
And I did I'll be uh listen, Iknow I was wrong.
I I made a whole list thisweekend of all the ones that I
missed, and I was like, golly, Icouldn't find one that I got
right.
SPEAKER_09 (01:46:22):
But um Ed was not
the only person that's picked
Youngstown, so I was like, Wasit you?
SPEAKER_01 (01:46:27):
Was it you?
Sorry, I didn't mean to get you.
SPEAKER_06 (01:46:30):
We've been we've
adjusted uh Virgil and I we've
been we've been on theYoungstown State in uh South
Dakota.
SPEAKER_01 (01:46:37):
It wasn't that I'm
like I'm not anti Youngstown
State, it's just that I'm alwayslike the by the bison always
seem to you know like you know, like just steamroll teams.
But but uh but I mean I justwant to I wanted to I wanted to
come on and just make sure Igave Youngstown State their
flowers, even though they lost.
(01:46:58):
They could have easily won thatfootball game.
SPEAKER_09 (01:47:01):
Honestly, if they if
they make it to uh playoffs,
that's a team I would not wantto face first round.
SPEAKER_01 (01:47:08):
No, I mean, because
what do we know about the
playoffs, right?
And it's it doesn't matter whatsport we're talking about, all
you need to do is get in thegame.
SPEAKER_06 (01:47:17):
When it comes to
playoffs, yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (01:47:19):
You what?
Move it on.
Oh, don't worry, Tottenhamwouldn't make those playoffs
either.
SPEAKER_06 (01:47:23):
Um, no, no, no.
It's okay.
They may they will make theplayoffs.
SPEAKER_01 (01:47:26):
I didn't say Chelsea
would either, I'm just saying uh
Tottenham wouldn't.
SPEAKER_09 (01:47:30):
Um uh other upsets
to talk about Idaho goes into
the Sky Dome at uh NorthernArizona and beats them 35-32 in
overtime.
SPEAKER_01 (01:47:40):
Uh the Vandals are
like up and down this season.
SPEAKER_09 (01:47:43):
Yeah, they I had
high hopes for them.
They were gonna be one of mysurprise teams, and I am
definitely surprised by how badthey've kind of been playing.
Uh we already talked about NorthDakota losing to South Dakota,
which was kind of a surprise tome.
SPEAKER_01 (01:47:58):
Yeah, another one
that kind of surprised me was
the San Diego Dayton game.
SPEAKER_09 (01:48:03):
I'm not I I
understand that one.
I'm not I'm not as surprisedthan that because those two tend
to be those two beforePresbyterian, those two tend to
be your top in the pioneer.
SPEAKER_01 (01:48:17):
Yeah, but like San
Diego was San Diego had been
struggling a little bit thisseason, and Dayton, Dayton was
looking pretty good.
SPEAKER_09 (01:48:24):
Yeah.
So definitely I don't know.
SPEAKER_01 (01:48:26):
I don't I don't
claim to know the history of
like how they how they how theyfinish in the pioneer league.
I'm going based off of thisseason.
Just like I let you and Ed likethey let us talk about soccer.
I let you and Ed talk about it.
Um because I don't knowhistorically how good they are,
like I know more about Daytonfrom a basketball perspective.
SPEAKER_06 (01:48:46):
Yeah, there will
always be a bad think of them as
a basketball school.
Yeah, don't have that one goodseason, but then they'll go back
down to normal and then the callme Donnie.
SPEAKER_01 (01:48:55):
I've got a Dayton
hat.
That's you know, and the most Iknow about Dayton is that
Virgil's Dayton someone I can't128.
SPEAKER_09 (01:49:02):
But anyway, um you
said to stink that in there,
didn't you?
SPEAKER_00 (01:49:07):
He sure did, didn't
he?
SPEAKER_09 (01:49:09):
Uh but you know,
with FCS, I may have missed my
HBCU pick by three points.
Alabama state 138, 31 to 28.
SPEAKER_01 (01:49:22):
I don't regret that
pick though.
SPEAKER_09 (01:49:23):
I don't either.
SPEAKER_01 (01:49:24):
I listen, I'm team
listen, I said I was gonna go
down with the ship, and I'm aVirgil, a Virgil Brooks fanboy.
SPEAKER_00 (01:49:31):
So Donnie and I were
like, no, we're not going down
with that ship.
SPEAKER_01 (01:49:34):
No, I said I said,
is it pre-review or is it is it
is it AM?
Is it preview a m?
SPEAKER_09 (01:49:39):
Purview AM.
SPEAKER_01 (01:49:40):
Yeah.
Listen, preview could have wonthat game.
Like they were they were in itto the end.
SPEAKER_06 (01:49:46):
Just just like
Clemson could have won that
game, but they didn't, okay.
SPEAKER_04 (01:49:50):
During the power
bike, they were in it till the
end.
SPEAKER_06 (01:49:53):
Listen, I'm gonna
need for you to calm down.
They were in it till the end.
SPEAKER_09 (01:49:57):
But we have we have
that.
SPEAKER_01 (01:49:58):
No, you know what?
Dabo is gonna be like GrahamPotter saying the boys gave
everything.
I can see Dabbo saying that theboys gave everything.
SPEAKER_09 (01:50:07):
Alabama AM lost to
Grambling, so uh the one that
hurt me.
SPEAKER_01 (01:50:12):
But folks, you've
made me into a you've made me
you've turned me into an AlabamaAM fan, by the way.
SPEAKER_09 (01:50:17):
I am so sorry.
SPEAKER_01 (01:50:19):
But folks, I'm used
to heartbreak, okay?
We've already been over that.
SPEAKER_09 (01:50:23):
But folks, the
cowards lost.
SPEAKER_10 (01:50:27):
Yeah, I was getting
ready to say the cowards dropped
six, and you got to it.
SPEAKER_09 (01:50:31):
Lost Idaho State.
SPEAKER_10 (01:50:32):
Wait, they actually
played it, they actually played
a game?
SPEAKER_09 (01:50:34):
They played a game,
they could not get their weather
machine working in time, andIdaho State.
SPEAKER_01 (01:50:39):
Was that game in
Davis?
Was that game in Davis?
SPEAKER_09 (01:50:42):
Oh, nice lost at
home by two.
SPEAKER_01 (01:50:45):
By the way, um, not
not to go into this, but you
know, not only can Davis notplay games, they also can't hold
an independent professionalbaseball team.
Awkward.
You know, you you you you youknow what I'm talking about,
right?
SPEAKER_09 (01:51:02):
Uh oh, hold on.
Dying, do we have breaking news?
SPEAKER_10 (01:51:07):
Oh, geez.
What a sh I don't know how farwhere that pass was like a
40-yard was that CD?
Yeah, he dumped it off to him.
CD kind of hovered on thesideline and then he's out of
bounds.
Dak was scrambling, so he gotdown to the 20s.
Yeah, he's out of bounds.
I I need I need him to scoreless than two points.
SPEAKER_09 (01:51:30):
Cool razor then.
My goodness.
SPEAKER_01 (01:51:33):
Ooh, this is good.
This is becoming a good game.
Listen, I'm invested in thisgame.
Why would you be invested inthis game?
Because I want Donnie to win.
SPEAKER_06 (01:51:45):
Man, who cares?
SPEAKER_10 (01:51:48):
So we had a lady
stop by, she was riding around
the campground on her littleelectric scooter with her dog.
She saw she saw us sitting outthere watching TV, and she said,
Oh, you watching the gametonight?
That's a Monday night game.
She's like, Yeah, she's like,You pulling for the cowboys?
I was like, I wouldn't go thatfar.
I'm like, I need you to come thehell down.
SPEAKER_01 (01:52:07):
So I was coming back
from New Jersey, and then there
was this we're you know, we'rein Philly, right?
Returning a rental car.
This guy comes out and he's fromAtlanta, but he's wearing a he's
wearing a cowboys jacket.
So I had to listen while we'rewaiting to get the shuttle over
to the airport.
I haven't hear all about thecowboys, and I just wanted to
say, you know, they suck, right?
SPEAKER_06 (01:52:27):
So the fact that
they're losing the the the
Cardinals put up 27 points onthe Cowboys surprises me this
much.
I've been trying to tell you thestory.
SPEAKER_01 (01:52:42):
Hasn't that been the
story of this NFL season that
like their defense has been badall year?
SPEAKER_06 (01:52:47):
Wait, hold on a
second.
Time out, time out because theowner said that this is a much
better defense right now, thatthey're gonna be able to they
need to stop the run, then itcan't stop shit.
SPEAKER_01 (01:52:58):
Right.
Oh, they they just they justdowngraded uh C D Lambs and now
uh oh never mind.
Never mind.
SPEAKER_03 (01:53:07):
He's playing.
SPEAKER_01 (01:53:09):
Oh I'm watching the
live, I'm watching the live
point thing, and then I saw thathe just got another catch on my
ooh.
SPEAKER_09 (01:53:15):
Never mind.
Yep, is there's it is it over,Donnie?
SPEAKER_10 (01:53:19):
Not quite 89.58 to
90.12.
SPEAKER_01 (01:53:24):
If he decides to
back to pack up his bags now and
say I'm done for the night, thenDonnie would win.
SPEAKER_09 (01:53:32):
But you need some
you need some uh throws at
George Pickham is what you need.
SPEAKER_10 (01:53:36):
Yeah.
Well, I need somebody to take CDout right now.
Because I want to hear Ericcomplain tomorrow night.
SPEAKER_09 (01:53:42):
Yeah, he went do not
cons do not condone injuries.
SPEAKER_06 (01:53:45):
We don't condone
injuries like the coach.
SPEAKER_10 (01:53:47):
I need the coach to
take him out of the game.
SPEAKER_01 (01:53:49):
That's all unless is
uh Aaron Rodgers, at which point
it is completely I want to hearEric um go on and say, uh
terrible luck because TuckerKraft got hurt and I have
nobody, and then you know thenhe and he keeps winning.
I'm like, I don't want to hearit.
SPEAKER_10 (01:54:05):
I don't need a
career injury, I just need a
24-hour injury.
You know who has a year injurythough?
SPEAKER_06 (01:54:13):
Who uh Tucker Kraft?
SPEAKER_01 (01:54:16):
Jaden Daniels.
Oh yeah, that was nasty.
Uh and listen, that my heartbreaks for Jaden.
You know how much I love JadenDaniels.
He reminds you, he reminds me ofactual good times at LSU.
SPEAKER_10 (01:54:29):
Washington lost
three guys that might be out the
rest of the year last night.
SPEAKER_01 (01:54:33):
Is McLaurin is
McLaurin out for the year?
SPEAKER_10 (01:54:35):
Uh I don't know if
he's out for the year.
SPEAKER_01 (01:54:39):
McLaurin got his
money and said I ain't gonna
play this year.
SPEAKER_10 (01:54:43):
But they lost a
couple other guys last night,
too, for the rest of the year.
SPEAKER_09 (01:54:47):
Well, well, they
they already lost Eckler for the
entire let's go over some of theFCS games for next week.
Now, believe it or not, I havealready made my list of games.
SPEAKER_01 (01:54:59):
I'm not surprised by
that.
You have time you have time, usually you got time yeah.
I said you've got time becauseyou got time, you know.
Donnie's too busy withvacationing and and staying in
palatial campgrounds and stuff, but but you have time.
SPEAKER_10 (01:55:15):
But you got time,
you got time, you got time.
SPEAKER_01 (01:55:17):
You guys got a job
or anything, so you know you're
just laying around sick.
SPEAKER_10 (01:55:20):
Is that what I'm
supposed to say?
SPEAKER_01 (01:55:22):
Well, that's what
you say.
Not what you're supposed to,that's what you say.
SPEAKER_09 (01:55:27):
That's what it was
last week.
SPEAKER_01 (01:55:28):
I didn't say any of
this, Virgil.
SPEAKER_09 (01:55:30):
Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01 (01:55:32):
Yeah, he just
suggested it strongly.
SPEAKER_09 (01:55:35):
So the first game I
actually want to look at is um
one that involves our friendPhil.
And one that I was kind ofdebating going to, but I don't
know if it'll happen consideringuh budget constraints currently,
right now, and that is Furman atChattanooga.
SPEAKER_00 (01:55:51):
Ooh, I saw that now.
SPEAKER_09 (01:55:53):
Chattanooga
definitely has a lot of good
players, but they've not reallybeen the best this year.
They're only four and five.
I would say a disappointingseason for them.
But they have a chance, and theydid lose to Western Carolina
last week, but have a chance todo a rebound on the game.
That could be a fun one to keeptrack of.
SPEAKER_01 (01:56:14):
Yeah.
If you if you choose to go, letme know.
SPEAKER_09 (01:56:19):
Okay, I'll I'll give
you a heads up.
I don't think I've got anythingpressing this week on what I
know of.
SPEAKER_01 (01:56:26):
Yeah, I don't know
that I can go either.
I was just like, I thought thatwas pretty cool though.
SPEAKER_10 (01:56:30):
That's a noon game,
so y'all can get there and back
in a day.
SPEAKER_09 (01:56:34):
And our um track of
keeping track of our winless
teams, Saint Francis is at homeagainst Mercyhurst.
Could this be the week?
St.
Francis wins a game.
Yes.
Oof.
Differing opinions.
I like it.
SPEAKER_01 (01:56:50):
Um listen, I'm gonna
go down, I'm gonna go down with
this train.
SPEAKER_09 (01:56:54):
So we are not we are
not gonna pick this game.
Um, this next game we're gonnatalk about, but I do have a
question in this.
Citadel is playing at Ole Miss,so we're finally getting to the
SEC needing their cupcake games.
SPEAKER_10 (01:57:08):
Their wins, yeah.
I was just gonna say the latethe late season cupcakes.
Yeah, there it is.
The holiday cupcakes, I like tocall them.
SPEAKER_09 (01:57:16):
Historically,
Citadel has found a way.
Citadel is always one of myfavorite FCS teams because they
led Alabama for like the firstquarter, I think even at half.
And I remember people freakingthe fuck out about that.
SPEAKER_06 (01:57:30):
It's also isn't it
wonderful?
SPEAKER_09 (01:57:32):
It's always
wonderful to see.
So will the Citadel lead OleMiss at any point in this game?
SPEAKER_01 (01:57:40):
I think if they do,
it's gonna be because they get
because they get possessionfirst, and then they uh and and
they get a field goal ortouchdown in the first
possession.
SPEAKER_10 (01:57:53):
You watch I I don't
want to I don't want to say no,
I doubt it.
I was gonna say like maybe afield goal if they have if they
receive the kickoff, if if oldmiss defers, potentially they
could get a field goal.
I don't even think they get atouchdown.
If they don't get a field goalto on the first drive of the
game, no, I don't think theywill.
SPEAKER_09 (01:58:13):
Oh uh Donnie, by the
way, I have uh texted Jacoby
Bursett because you know we'reon a first name basis, uh, to uh
run out the rest of the clock.
So just trying to do the bestfor you.
SPEAKER_01 (01:58:24):
Man, I swear that
would be just that that would be
amazing if Arizona went on a 14and a half minute drive.
Absolutely.
And then Dallas gets it backonly for uh and Dallas gets it
back only for uh Dak to you knowscamper for for a few yards.
SPEAKER_10 (01:58:43):
At least double team
CD and make him go to Pickens.
SPEAKER_09 (01:58:47):
Uh one of some of
the other games I'll talk about.
This is one we will be picking, and since it's not here, I won't
repeat this one.
Villanova at Townsend.
SPEAKER_04 (01:58:57):
Ooh.
SPEAKER_09 (01:58:58):
Townsend has kind of
a um I'm sorry.
Townsend is sitting at a fourand five record.
Kind of, you know, notimpressive, but they're not a
bad team.
They'll find a way to scoreyour, they'll find a way to
score points.
Villanova's still hanging aroundat 5-1, leading the CAA.
Uh possible playoff berth ifthey win the course.
(01:59:20):
So one to keep a try, one tokeep an eye on because they're
playing at Johnny Unidas Stadiumat Towson.
That could be an interestingone.
SPEAKER_01 (01:59:28):
Man, love Johnny
Unidas.
SPEAKER_09 (01:59:30):
Uh Presbyterian at
Davidson, really nothing to
report there.
SPEAKER_01 (01:59:36):
The only question is
how much will they win by?
Uh, pretty much.
Presbyterian looked good lastweekend, too.
I thought about Donnie because Iknow that's like Donnie's 48th
team or whatever it is now.
Donnie's got teams like Eric'sgot Instagram accounts.
SPEAKER_09 (01:59:56):
That's a good one.
I'll give you that.
That's a good one.
That's a good one.
Murray.
State has a chance.
SPEAKER_01 (02:00:02):
But the thing is,
Eric may still may have more
Instagram accounts than UFteams.
True story.
SPEAKER_09 (02:00:07):
Murray State has a
chance to win their first game.
SPEAKER_01 (02:00:12):
They are on the road
at Northern Iowa, who is sitting
2-7 and 0-5 and conference alongwith I still think Murray
State's best chance this seasonwas Georgia State.
SPEAKER_09 (02:00:28):
That is so fast.
I can totally see that.
SPEAKER_01 (02:00:30):
Yeah, but I'm
saying, like, that was like it's
Georgia State's only win thisseason again is against Murray
State.
SPEAKER_09 (02:00:35):
So are they is that
oh man, I'm I'm depressed
hearing that.
SPEAKER_01 (02:00:40):
I think that's what
it was.
SPEAKER_09 (02:00:43):
Let me see.
Well, you look that up.
Uh North Dakota State at NorthDakota.
We will be picking that up.
SPEAKER_01 (02:00:50):
That would have that
would have been a lot more
attractive if um North Dakotawon.
No, if North Dakota had won thispast weekend.
Yeah.
So yeah, so um yeah, so so itwas back on September 13th that
uh Georgia State's only win wasagainst uh was against Murray
State.
Wow.
I think I think Del McGee, Ithink Del McGee may not last
(02:01:14):
much longer.
SPEAKER_09 (02:01:15):
No, it uh I don't I
don't think so, especially if
that's the case.
Yeah, um then Illinois,Youngstown State will probably
be another one we'll be lookingat for sure.
But the game that I havecircled, I have circled a big
game, one that I'm lookingforward to.
Uh what I'm also nervous about.
Mercer on the road againstWestern Carolina.
SPEAKER_10 (02:01:36):
Ooh, that's gonna be
a good game.
SPEAKER_09 (02:01:38):
Western Carolina has
definitely turned around from
actually getting their play backfrom suspension.
So uh that is one I may I mayput that one on the full screen,
honestly.
SPEAKER_01 (02:01:51):
Well, Western at
least you know Western Carolina
will actually play the game.
SPEAKER_09 (02:01:55):
Yes, this is true.
I don't understand.
SPEAKER_01 (02:01:58):
Well, at least you
don't have to worry about it
getting canceled.
No, no, I do not.
I mean UC Davis, yeah, that's adifferent story, but uh Prairie
View AM against Alabama AM.
SPEAKER_09 (02:02:12):
That is in
Huntsville.
I may try to go to that one.
SPEAKER_01 (02:02:16):
Ooh.
That's a good matchup, but uhI'm I'm presuming Prairie View
AM is uh is a is a comfortablefavorite in that one.
SPEAKER_09 (02:02:25):
And they probably
will be.
I haven't seen the line for thatone yet.
South Dakota State.
Now, if we're talking aboutgames that look different all of
a sudden compared to last week,South Dakota stayed at South
Dakota.
Now, South Dakota just brokeinto the top 25, so it's not
like they're gonna be up.
This is not a top 15 team of anymeans.
SPEAKER_01 (02:02:46):
But is is is South
Dakota is South Dakota in Pier?
SPEAKER_09 (02:02:52):
Uh South Dakota's in
Vermilion.
SPEAKER_01 (02:02:55):
It's in Vermilion,
okay.
Is South Dakota State in Pier,or am I state's in Brookings?
Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_09 (02:03:03):
I don't know.
I I I guess Pier doesn't have ushave a D1 school, maybe.
SPEAKER_01 (02:03:08):
Well, I always
underestimate when it when a
when a capital city, I alwaysfeel like they're gonna have one
of the big institutions, andthen they never do.
So I'm just like, god gone it.
I just it's not hard to do, butI make myself look dumb.
So nah, no worries.
SPEAKER_10 (02:03:24):
Well, here's one for
you guys for territorial
bragging rights West Georgiaversus North Alabama, which is
kind of funny because is that atNorth Alabama?
SPEAKER_09 (02:03:39):
That is in Florence,
yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (02:03:41):
Oh, wait, that's in
Florence, yes.
Oh, I like it.
SPEAKER_09 (02:03:47):
Which is funny
considering I like it.
North Alabama is also morewestern Alabama than anything
else.
SPEAKER_01 (02:03:55):
Well, I was I was
just about to say, so in the
region, when I worked for DickSporting Goods, uh one of the
stores that we had in our regionwas uh was Florence, Alabama.
SPEAKER_09 (02:04:05):
Florence has really
come up um in the past.
Yeah, it's probably deck andit's it's it's like a fun place
to go to.
And also North Alabama, uh, oneof the few schools that have
live mascots.
Now they don't have them on thefield, but they do have two
lions, so you can actually go totheir enclosure on campus.
SPEAKER_01 (02:04:24):
Wow.
Well, don't worry.
Don um if Donnie goes to a game,he'll end up with a picture with
them.
Very true.
SPEAKER_09 (02:04:32):
I would recommend, I
mean, I'd recommend doing that
once because like how often willyou see lions in Alabama?
SPEAKER_01 (02:04:38):
That's true.
SPEAKER_09 (02:04:39):
That's not at a zoo.
SPEAKER_01 (02:04:41):
Yeah, I was gonna
say, unless it's like the Barnum
and Bailey show or whatever itis.
SPEAKER_09 (02:04:46):
Yes, but this is a
lot more ethical.
SPEAKER_01 (02:04:50):
Good point.
unknown (02:04:51):
Good point.
SPEAKER_09 (02:04:53):
Um, a big battle in
the Southland Conference, which
we don't really highlight muchbecause um a lot of their
Southland Conference is one ofthose conferences where it's
just one, maybe two good teams.
And both those good teams areplaying against each other this
week.
We have Southeastern Louisianagoing to Lamar.
SPEAKER_01 (02:05:11):
Well, that's gonna
be a good game.
SPEAKER_09 (02:05:13):
Yeah, that's gonna
be one.
I don't know if we're gonna pickthat one because we're kind of
running.
I gotta see how many games we'vegot to add.
I may have that.
We'll see.
SPEAKER_01 (02:05:20):
What can what
conference is that toothpaste
team in?
SPEAKER_09 (02:05:23):
Colgate?
SPEAKER_01 (02:05:24):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_09 (02:05:25):
Colgate is in the I
have to remember if it's Patriot
or not.
SPEAKER_01 (02:05:29):
No, yeah, and by the
way, no disrespect to Colgate.
It's just that it's the way Iremember them.
Is Toothpaste.
SPEAKER_09 (02:05:34):
No, I guess they're
they're in the Patriot.
SPEAKER_01 (02:05:36):
Are they in the
Patriot?
Okay.
Colgate's got a pretty goodteam, don't they?
SPEAKER_09 (02:05:41):
Um four and five,
two and two in Patriot.
SPEAKER_01 (02:05:44):
We're not uh okay.
Well, forgive my ignorance.
I'm still learning, stilllearning.
I feel I'm more comfortable withthe top 25.
I'm not I'm not good throughoutevery conference yet.
Um Donnie's trying to teach me,but I'm but I'm I'm a I'm a work
in progress here.
SPEAKER_09 (02:06:02):
Yeah, Colgate is um,
I know Colgate more for
basketball than football.
SPEAKER_01 (02:06:07):
I was gonna say,
like, so they're like Dayton in
that way, more than basketballschool.
SPEAKER_09 (02:06:12):
I would I would say
so.
Because I know they're they'vehad more recent success in
basketball.
So really you can say the samefor a few of the Patriot League
teams like Buck Mill and Lehighin Richmond.
SPEAKER_01 (02:06:24):
Yeah, yeah, yeah,
yeah.
SPEAKER_09 (02:06:25):
The spiders,
spiders, which kind of see kind
of sad to see how they are, butspiders are usually pretty good
too.
But they're setting up two andthree, five and four.
Two and three five and five andfour for the year.
SPEAKER_10 (02:06:39):
Wow, there's an
inordinate amount of three and
six teams in FCS.
There's a lot of three and six.
I don't know why that net thatrecord stands out, but there is
a lot.
SPEAKER_09 (02:06:55):
Sorry, Donnie.
I do not have any Lincoln.
SPEAKER_10 (02:06:58):
Yeah, uh, I think
their season's done.
They've they've collected theirchecks and they're hunting down
until next season.
SPEAKER_09 (02:07:05):
They collected their
checks and it's time to launder
that money.
SPEAKER_01 (02:07:07):
Yep.
Well, I was gonna say, like, uhI I really that's one of my
biggest letdowns of the seasonwhen I thought that Lincoln not
only scored points, but theyactually got a touchdown plus a
field goal.
And then and and then it had tobe retracted and was never
rewritten.
And I'm like, so in my mind, insome in some imaginary dreamland
that I was in, Lincoln Lincolnof California ended up with 10
(02:07:30):
points this whole season.
SPEAKER_10 (02:07:32):
That was almost as
funny for me as when Rhonda's
aunt thought she hit the scratchoff for$250,000 one Christmas.
And then well, I didn't scratchoff the right numbers or all of
the numbers.
SPEAKER_01 (02:07:47):
Well, I I that I
know how she feels in a sense
because I I was even read I waseven looking at your graphic
with you where you would circleclearly that there was a
discrepancy, but somehow Ididn't catch that discrepancy.
And I was sitting therecelebrating, I was I was at the
store and I was sitting therecelebrating over something that
didn't happen.
(02:08:08):
Listen, listen, it's the littlethings, okay?
It is, it's the little things.
SPEAKER_09 (02:08:12):
I'm sorry that the
associated press did that to
you.
They did you, Dardy.
SPEAKER_01 (02:08:15):
They did, and I you
know, I wanted to write them to
be quite honest.
SPEAKER_10 (02:08:18):
I'll say this if the
day comes that uh Lincoln does
score some points, we will havea party.
SPEAKER_01 (02:08:23):
Listen, I'm gonna be
like the Dodgers when they got
on base.
SPEAKER_09 (02:08:29):
Well, like when
Donnie sent me that, I had to
like triple like verify becauselike, okay, which one is the
right score?
Yeah, did ESPN get this wrong?
Because they didn't have livestats for this, they just kind
of had updates.
So, like, was it ESPN that waswrong?
Like, I checked, I went toMissouri Valley State Football
Twitter, they didn't haveanything on this.
SPEAKER_01 (02:08:50):
But but it's it but
it but it's a perfect I started
looking at the story, and thenthis is where I kind of started
really understanding, thanks toDonnie's investigative work, how
many people just copy storiesand just put it on their
website.
I mean, and I I knew thathappened because of the AP
Newswire and other things likethat, but that was just a good
example of people just grabeveryone grabbing the wrong
(02:09:12):
story and not verifying it.
Yeah, so it's like uh here, I'mgonna throw it on a website
because it it was on like theconference website, it was
everywhere.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_09 (02:09:20):
That I guess who's
gonna care about Mississippi
Valley State versus Lincoln?
Who's gonna care about thatscore?
SPEAKER_01 (02:09:26):
We are uh we will
because we're the break-even
sports talk show, and we werethe ones that had the watch on
it.
SPEAKER_05 (02:09:33):
We're the only ones
that will.
SPEAKER_01 (02:09:35):
Yeah, well, and you
know, like we're the ones that
worry about playoffs, playoffsin the English Premier League.
I mean, we we worry about the crabout the important stuff.
SPEAKER_05 (02:09:44):
Whoa, whoa, whoa,
whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa,
whoa, whoa, whoa, calm the helldown.
SPEAKER_00 (02:09:48):
Calm the hell down.
SPEAKER_01 (02:09:49):
Listen, with your
delay, you need to you need to
go somewhere with your delayedself, okay?
Because you're you're talkinglike one of the one of those uh
martial arts movies.
Come on, calm the heck down.
SPEAKER_09 (02:10:03):
I thought maybe he
was doing like uh ventilical as
a Mac or something.
SPEAKER_01 (02:10:07):
I was I did too,
because I was because I I
thought it was a Bruce Lee moviewhere he's going.
SPEAKER_10 (02:10:12):
Well, Patrick, if
you had watched this morning's
uh breakfast takes, you wouldhave seen that he was Mac's
headroom for about 45 seconds aswell.
SPEAKER_06 (02:10:21):
Bro, listen.
SPEAKER_09 (02:10:26):
Oh, I was ready to
drop a beat on that, but then
it's like I know.
SPEAKER_10 (02:10:30):
I was like, man,
this this is going on and on.
SPEAKER_09 (02:10:33):
But the but the more
I heard it, it sounds like you
were a dog trying to throw up.
SPEAKER_06 (02:10:36):
So, Virgil, since
you did watch it and you watched
the part that I asked you guysto watch, and without saying it,
because we'll cover it tomorrow, because Donnie came up with some
crazy kakamami, you know, uhwhich I'm not against, by the
way, because it benefits me.
Uh were you caught off guard, oryou know, no, no, what no, no.
SPEAKER_09 (02:11:04):
I'm not what what
what I was thinking he was going
to say?
It checks what I thought he wasgoing to say was going to be
more about their postseasonfuture.
SPEAKER_06 (02:11:13):
Oh, there is no
there's no post future
postseason future for that guy.
SPEAKER_09 (02:11:17):
Well, so I'm saying
that that's where the hot tags
from.
But when I heard him, when Iheard him talk and I heard that
name, I'm like, okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_04 (02:11:25):
It checks.
SPEAKER_09 (02:11:27):
But I did offer him
another player, and I didn't
have to say who it was, and hefound out completely, and he
knew completely who I was gonnasay.
SPEAKER_10 (02:11:37):
You saw it too.
Patrick.
You what he didn't watch it, butwe did discuss it before you got
out.
Yeah, we discussed it.
SPEAKER_01 (02:11:45):
Okay, yeah, and I
and and honestly, I thought his
alternative might be an activestarting quarterback for another
uh for another team that he youknow supports.
SPEAKER_06 (02:11:58):
Um okay, all right.
SPEAKER_01 (02:12:07):
Yeah, he might want
to he might want to switch
expansion teams.
I don't know, you know, sincethey came into the league at the
same time.
I mean, he you know, I mean, youknow, he uh listen, there is a
there there is a fighting teamthat uh that that he supposedly
doesn't support anymore.
SPEAKER_06 (02:12:22):
Donnie, Donnie, if
it happens, you would welcome it
with open arms.
As a matter of fact, you woulddrive the moving truck from
Jacksonville all the way toCharlotte.
Yes, sir.
SPEAKER_10 (02:12:35):
Oh, absolutely,
absolutely.
Yeah, yeah.
I'll take that any day.
SPEAKER_06 (02:12:39):
I know you would.
SPEAKER_09 (02:12:41):
I must be the only
person that thinks that's a
terrible move.
SPEAKER_06 (02:12:43):
I would think it's a
horrible move.
SPEAKER_01 (02:12:45):
Wait a second, you
think you're the only person?
You obviously haven't met me.
SPEAKER_09 (02:12:49):
Oh, that's why
you're suggesting it.
SPEAKER_01 (02:12:51):
That's why I'm
suggesting it, yes.
SPEAKER_09 (02:12:52):
Yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_01 (02:12:53):
But I'm saying,
well, I what I was I was
suggesting it because I couldsee that as something that
Donnie would also suggest, thinking this is a brilliant
move.
And while you're at it, bringand while you're at it, bring
another running back to the teamas well, because he'll be great
for us too.
And we need we can have threerunning backs.
SPEAKER_06 (02:13:09):
Is Elliott still out
there?
I mean, is he still a free agentor is he with the cowboys?
Who's that?
Elliot.
You might as well give him anOhio State get running back, you
know, just to complete theEzekiel Ezekiel Elliott?
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (02:13:22):
Well, I was just
gonna say, you know, like he's
gonna want he's gonna wantEtienne in there, right?
Travis Etienne?
True.
Well, we've got his brother, soI was just gonna say you want to
bring bring the ETN brotherstogether, and you're gonna have
a four-headed monster.
Um, you know, Chuba Hubbard, gopokes.
SPEAKER_10 (02:13:39):
Um unfortunately,
the Panthers don't like Clemson
players.
I mean, they they just don't.
I mean, they brought HunterHunter back and then they they
cut him, brought him back, andthen they didn't play him.
Like, what are you doing?
SPEAKER_01 (02:13:55):
Well, don't worry,
you guys will draft uh K
Klubnick or something like that, and then you know.
Nah, he's not playing profootball.
He's not playing AFL football.
Yeah, shoot.
He he's gonna be right next touh to uh to Nussmeyer, you know,
and guys that should have beensomething, but then they really
weren't.
SPEAKER_10 (02:14:14):
Those those are the
kind of guys that'll be in the
UFL.
SPEAKER_01 (02:14:18):
Well yeah, or
they'll be like the the backup,
they'll be the practice squadquarterback, like you know, or
they'll be in the league atsomething completely different.
SPEAKER_00 (02:14:27):
Jesus, where the
hell are you throwing this ball
to?
Jesus.
As long as you're not throwingit to CD Lamb, I'm good with it.
Throw it anywhere else.
Unreal.
SPEAKER_10 (02:14:35):
No, they finish that
drive.
It's uh yeah, so it's gonna be alittle while before they get the
ball back again, hopefully.
SPEAKER_01 (02:14:42):
Well, I mean,
because Jacoby Brissett's just
gonna run the ball now and youknow, let's go.
SPEAKER_08 (02:14:46):
Okay, I'll take
that.
SPEAKER_01 (02:14:47):
Yeah, I was gonna
say, is Jane is James Conner
back yet?
No.
SPEAKER_08 (02:14:50):
No, no.
SPEAKER_01 (02:14:51):
Who who is it now?
Carter?
Is it Carter?
Um Michael Carter.
SPEAKER_07 (02:14:56):
Carter right now, I
think.
SPEAKER_01 (02:14:57):
Michael Carter,
because I know it's not the
other guy, the the one thatdropped the the one that dropped
the uh you know the potentialtouchdown.
SPEAKER_09 (02:15:04):
Well, he's he's had
a few plays too.
SPEAKER_01 (02:15:06):
When you better
learn how to slide when when
that um uh I can't even call hima head coach, but when Jonathan
Gannon lit into him for noflipping reason.
SPEAKER_06 (02:15:18):
Well, warranted.
Um it was warranted.
SPEAKER_01 (02:15:22):
Not when you're
Jonathan Gannon.
Win something before you startgoing off on a player like that.
They would have won that game.
Huh?
SPEAKER_06 (02:15:29):
They would have won
that game with that touchdown.
SPEAKER_01 (02:15:32):
Now Jonathan Gannon
is coached, they wouldn't have.
SPEAKER_06 (02:15:34):
That's not the but
that wasn't on Jonathan Gannon.
That was all on the running.
Everything's on Jonathan Gannon.
SPEAKER_01 (02:15:39):
Everything's on
Jonathan Gannon.
SPEAKER_09 (02:15:45):
I'm not gonna find
him on that.
SPEAKER_01 (02:15:48):
Listen, allow my
Jonathan Gannon agenda, okay?
SPEAKER_09 (02:15:52):
Let the Jonathan
Gannon hate throw uh go uh
through hell.
SPEAKER_01 (02:15:57):
He's this he's this
season's Brandon Staley.
We all know that.
In my eyes.
SPEAKER_06 (02:16:02):
By the way, there is
there is a good chance that Kyle
Murray does get traded by theend of the season.
SPEAKER_01 (02:16:10):
To where where does
he go?
SPEAKER_06 (02:16:11):
Don't matter, bum
fuck anywhere.
SPEAKER_09 (02:16:13):
Oh, I've already
given my answer.
SPEAKER_06 (02:16:16):
Did you?
SPEAKER_09 (02:16:19):
Oh I get my answer
already.
And I'm kind of like halfjoking, half not with that.
SPEAKER_01 (02:16:25):
How did how did I
miss what your answer was?
Did you put it in the chat?
I didn't like in our in in ouroffline chat?
SPEAKER_08 (02:16:32):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (02:16:32):
Ooh, I need to go
back and look at that.
Was that today?
SPEAKER_08 (02:16:37):
That was today.
SPEAKER_01 (02:16:39):
Okay.
SPEAKER_06 (02:16:41):
No, that's not a bad
that's a bad place.
SPEAKER_09 (02:16:44):
I don't think it's a
bad place at all.
SPEAKER_01 (02:16:46):
Oh, that's a
fantastic place.
Listen, that gets me to what?
Uh how many quarterbacks wouldthat get me to do that?
SPEAKER_06 (02:16:53):
That's a horrible,
that's a horrible place.
SPEAKER_01 (02:16:55):
Virgin, how many how
many quarterbacks would that get
me?
SPEAKER_09 (02:16:58):
42?
48.
I don't know.
I lost track.
42?
SPEAKER_01 (02:17:02):
Is it 42?
SPEAKER_09 (02:17:05):
But I mean, like
with the way that Brissett's
playing.
SPEAKER_01 (02:17:07):
Listen, if Gabriel
was 41.
Yeah, I was gonna say, like, well, I'm hoping to have 42 by
the end of the season because Iwant I want Shador's back to get
better.
Um so he can play.
Um, I wouldn't mind, I wouldn'tmind doing uh like uh um you
know uh a remontada of BaileyZappi either before the season
ends.
(02:17:28):
That'd be nice.
But you know, Stefansky did giveup play calling duties to Tommy
Rees today, so there's that forthe second straight season.
Uh didn't because he gave it upto another former corner um
Browns quarterback Ken Dorseylast season.
SPEAKER_09 (02:17:44):
If I were you, I'd
be more worried about Njoku
being traded to Green Baybecause now they need up tight
end.
SPEAKER_06 (02:17:50):
True.
Well from all the reports I'mhearing is that they're uh
they're more buyers thansellers.
SPEAKER_00 (02:17:58):
Did uh that, I
believe.
SPEAKER_01 (02:18:00):
Well, I was gonna
say, don't put anyone on the
trading block because the Eagleswill just trade for them.
SPEAKER_06 (02:18:05):
True story.
SPEAKER_01 (02:18:09):
What do you think
the Browns do, in all
seriousness, Ed?
What do you think that they doat the trade deadline?
SPEAKER_06 (02:18:14):
They need a wide
receiver, they need a wide
receiver, they need a widereceiver.
Anyone with a working hamstring, they need a one with the working
hands.
SPEAKER_00 (02:18:23):
True story.
SPEAKER_09 (02:18:24):
Are there any wide
receivers on the Jerry Judy?
SPEAKER_06 (02:18:30):
Jerry Judy needs to
go away for the he needs to go
to the IFL.
Jerry Judy.
SPEAKER_01 (02:18:36):
Um by the way, where
is Cedric Tillman?
Is he still hurt?
That that kid's talented, but hecan't stay on the field.
No.
Oh Donnie.
Isn't there a certain widereceiver that's still a free
agent?
(02:18:57):
That has some Browns experienceon the practice squad?
Uh Kadarius Tony.
SPEAKER_10 (02:19:03):
Oh, that's a blast
from the past.
Hadn't heard that name in awhile.
SPEAKER_01 (02:19:10):
I know, but I mean
for a good reason.
No, I'm saying, but man, he hecould give a little jolt to that
Browns off.
SPEAKER_06 (02:19:17):
No, he was he was
shit in Kansas City, he was shit
in Cleveland, he was shiteverywhere he went.
SPEAKER_01 (02:19:23):
Wasn't he on your
practice squad or was that the
Panthers?
No, it was the Browns, wasn'tit?
I think it was the Browns.
SPEAKER_10 (02:19:32):
By the way, Patrick,
Ed's just collecting receipts to
throw punch you next time hesees you in person, so you might
want to move on.
SPEAKER_01 (02:19:39):
Well, I mean, you're
gonna throw punch me the next
time you see me in person, too.
SPEAKER_10 (02:19:42):
So no, I would never
do such as that.
Who was gonna throw a punch?
SPEAKER_01 (02:19:50):
I'm trying to see
who the yeah, he did play for
the Cleveland Browns.
He did Kadarius Tony.
SPEAKER_06 (02:19:58):
I already I already
told you that.
SPEAKER_01 (02:19:59):
I know, but I was
like, I was trying to remember
if he played in an actual gameor if it was like he played in
an actual game, he didn't doshit.
SPEAKER_06 (02:20:08):
God, that makes me
so happy.
SPEAKER_09 (02:20:09):
We are done with FCS
talk.
Uh, if you guys have any hockeyor f or F1 you want to talk
about, nothing.
SPEAKER_01 (02:20:17):
Um may I just say
I'm so proud of the way the
Ducks have started the season.
I mean, Rock Bottom is the onlyplace that we had to start from.
So um, we beat the Panthers inin a shootout, which I never
thought would happen.
Donnie, you have somethingprobably far more interesting to
talk about.
SPEAKER_10 (02:20:35):
I was just warned to
be nice to you, or I'd have
heard an answer to.
SPEAKER_04 (02:20:39):
So we know who?
SPEAKER_00 (02:20:46):
The the top one?
SPEAKER_10 (02:20:48):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_00 (02:20:48):
Thank you, Mrs.
SPEAKER_01 (02:20:49):
Mayor.
He says thank you.
He's just mean to me, and thenyou know, Ed doesn't like me
either.
You know, they they've allthey've all started buying into
uh Eric Prophet's propaganda.
SPEAKER_09 (02:21:04):
Propaganda is what I
call it.
SPEAKER_01 (02:21:06):
Propaganda, there
you go.
Good one.
There was a good one, Virgil.
SPEAKER_10 (02:21:10):
Golf clout.
SPEAKER_01 (02:21:11):
Um, Mrs.
Mayer, Donnie's insulting meagain.
SPEAKER_10 (02:21:15):
She can't hear you.
I'm not pre-laying that.
SPEAKER_01 (02:21:18):
Oh, don't worry,
I'll text it to her.
I'm not insulting you.
I was gonna be able to do that.
No, you just said you just said,Virgil, that's an actual good
one.
I know what that's referencing.
I know what that's referencing.
Wow.
Yeah.
Listen.
SPEAKER_09 (02:21:35):
Have you tried
having good ones, Patter?
SPEAKER_01 (02:21:37):
What?
SPEAKER_09 (02:21:38):
Have you tried
having good ones, Patter?
SPEAKER_01 (02:21:40):
Yes, I have them
quite often.
SPEAKER_10 (02:21:45):
See?
SPEAKER_01 (02:21:47):
Listen, Virgil,
Virgil gets a free shot because
I'm a I'm a Virgil Brooksfanboy.
SPEAKER_10 (02:21:50):
So you know, are you
two wearing the same color,
hoodie?
SPEAKER_01 (02:21:53):
What?
Kind of this is sea green.
C foam green.
SPEAKER_10 (02:21:58):
Yeah, I don't know.
This is probably kind of a seafoam green.
It's uh is that a gray?
No, it's green.
It's it's green.
Is it green?
unknown (02:22:06):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_10 (02:22:06):
Well, I'm not
wearing an Octoberfest, I'm
wearing it at Land United, soyeah, it's not quite as as
greenish as yours, it's a littlemore muted.
This is the this is the city inthe forest hoodie.
SPEAKER_09 (02:22:20):
Yeah, I think it's
the lighting is what's making it
making it look like that.
SPEAKER_01 (02:22:23):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_09 (02:22:24):
All right, so
there's nothing else to talk
about.
I think we've hit all thesubjects we've been meaning to
hit today.
SPEAKER_10 (02:22:28):
Uh, Polly showed
back up.
SPEAKER_09 (02:22:31):
My predators are
still bad.
That's all I have to say abouthockey.
SPEAKER_06 (02:22:34):
My my uh hurricans
are not bad.
They're they're they're okay.
What are you talking about?
They're beating everybody.
SPEAKER_10 (02:22:42):
Did you watch this
in Elskid I sent you guys about
the preds?
I have that was hilarious.
Uh I haven't seen it.
I haven't seen it.
Yeah, I shouldn't watch that.
That was hilarious.
SPEAKER_01 (02:22:53):
I watched the one on
Tom Moore that you sent.
SPEAKER_10 (02:22:56):
Oh, yeah, that was a
good one, too.
That was very good.
SPEAKER_06 (02:22:59):
In my defense, you
did send like 16 of them.
I'm on vacation.
We yeah, you are.
The rest of us are not.
SPEAKER_01 (02:23:08):
You said you do that
even when you're not on
vacation.
SPEAKER_09 (02:23:10):
Yeah, usually when
I'm on vacation, I don't send a
bunch of stuff.
SPEAKER_06 (02:23:13):
Like when he's on
vacation, he doesn't talk to
anybody.
SPEAKER_10 (02:23:18):
Hey, I I can't help
but that you know stuff's just
popping all day long.
SPEAKER_03 (02:23:25):
If you say so.
If you say so.
SPEAKER_01 (02:23:27):
Yeah, all right.
Well, yeah, but but but yeah, Ijust did want to say about
hockey that I'm really proud ofthe Anaheim Ducks because they
also beat the Devils yesterday, who were at the top of the
Metropolitan Division.
SPEAKER_06 (02:23:38):
So for now, listen,
uh well, I said there you you
know who their head coach is,right?
Who for the New Jersey Devils.
He used to coach the terror theToronto Maple Leaves.
Oh yeah.
He's very good at the regularseason, but always finds a way
to choke in the playoffs.
So do the Devils.
SPEAKER_01 (02:23:58):
So do the Devils.
Exactly.
So the matchmade in heaven.
And and can I just say how uhhow very pleased I am about the
New York Rangers and their startto the season?
I I have enjoyed that.
And listen, I'm just not used tothe Ducks winning anything,
okay?
SPEAKER_06 (02:24:16):
Also, uh it needs to
be said there's a certain player
or players for this the Panthersthat are dirty.
Uh I I know who you know you whoI'm talking about, Donnie.
I know who you think you'retalking about.
No, no, no, no.
You know who I'm talking about.
SPEAKER_01 (02:24:32):
No, but in all
seriousness, there is a player
on the Panthers um that I wantto shout out, you know, give a
shout-out to.
Um Donnie, I'm gonna need you tohelp me out with the name, but
there was a player, um, one ofyour players that took a leave
of absence from the team to gocoach his um oh that's the one
Ed's talking about.
(02:24:52):
Well uh Marshan.
SPEAKER_00 (02:24:55):
Fuck him.
SPEAKER_01 (02:24:56):
Well fuck him.
Well, no, in all seriousness, like when Brad Marshan like took
a leave of absence to go likecoach his coach a friend of his
that he lost to go coach hisdaughter.
Is it was his daughter'sdaughter, yeah.
SPEAKER_10 (02:25:09):
It was his
daughter's team, yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (02:25:10):
Yeah, so like to
take a leave of absence from his
job to go and do that.
I he may be a good person, butas a hockey player, I fuck him.
Well, listen, uh I just thoughtthat was classy to do outside of
hockey.
Um, a character thing.
I thought that was a I thoughtthat was a really classy thing
to do when when with the suddenloss of a friend to go and do
that and know to have yourpriorities in order.
(02:25:32):
So I was I was really impressedby that.
SPEAKER_06 (02:25:34):
He needs to go ahead
and coach for the rest of the
year.
Fuck him.
SPEAKER_10 (02:25:38):
What a night and day
dichotomy that that right.
SPEAKER_09 (02:25:42):
It's almost like you
have to doing a bit almost.
SPEAKER_01 (02:25:44):
It's like it's like
uh it's like the shoulder.
Yeah, mine was I meant thatcoming from a good place, so
yeah.
SPEAKER_06 (02:25:53):
I didn't.
SPEAKER_00 (02:25:55):
I mine is like
coming from a good place.
SPEAKER_01 (02:25:57):
I I I couldn't tell.
SPEAKER_10 (02:25:58):
I couldn't I don't
know if Ed's talking about any
other players, but I know that'sthe one that he doesn't like
because he Marshall so so I justwant to make uh a suggestion for
the 2026 dad hate tournament.
SPEAKER_01 (02:26:09):
Does Brad Marshan
make that make that field?
So I'm okay with it.
So Virgil, since you Virgil, since you have nothing but time,
do you want to go ahead and addthat to the 2026?
SPEAKER_09 (02:26:21):
Uh we may put him on
the bubble.
May have to put him on thebubble.
SPEAKER_01 (02:26:25):
Well, like I said, I
know you've got time, so you can
just handle it however you andconsidering that we now have and
I have time too, so I can helpwith that.
SPEAKER_09 (02:26:32):
You know, the fact
that we have bubble teams now
just kind of shows how out ofhand this tournament has gotten.
SPEAKER_01 (02:26:39):
Or how the hate has
just continued to spread.
SPEAKER_09 (02:26:41):
The hate has
continued to spread, yes.
SPEAKER_10 (02:26:45):
Real quick, Polly, I
don't think Judge wins the MVP.
He he he really shouldn't.
I think it's gotta be uhRaleigh.
unknown (02:26:52):
Oh Donnie.
SPEAKER_10 (02:26:53):
Polly, he does.
SPEAKER_09 (02:26:55):
Donnie, Donnie,
Donnie.
Or went out, or lace is out.
SPEAKER_01 (02:27:03):
Man, I didn't mean
to make Ed that mad.
I mean, he didn't have to start, you know, going around on his uh
Well, is he is he brewing rightnow?
Is like is he steaming?
Oh man, he just went on, he gotso mad he decided to go on
something else.
SPEAKER_10 (02:27:21):
I only have myself
to blame, Virgil.
I only have myself to blame.
Played the wrong quarterback,overthought it.
SPEAKER_06 (02:27:33):
Who was your
original quarterback?
SPEAKER_10 (02:27:35):
I took out Josh
Allen for Jordan Love because I
thought Jordan Love might have abetter chance of scoring more
points against the Panthers thanJosh Allen would against the
Chiefs.
SPEAKER_06 (02:27:47):
Do you realize what
uh Josh Allen's record is during
the season against the Chiefs?
SPEAKER_10 (02:27:53):
I know it normally
is.
I overthought it, is what Isaid.
I thought this is gonna be thattime that Jordan Love's gonna
pour on some points against thePanthers as anemic as they've
been at times, and it backfiredon me.
SPEAKER_09 (02:28:08):
So yeah,
disappointment.
Well, on that note, uh this willbe uh good conclusion for
tonight's show.
Uh join us tomorrow as we gointo baseball, NFL.
Well, there's gonna be a lot ofhot takes.
SPEAKER_10 (02:28:25):
World series recap,
yeah, NFL, World Series, NFL
games, college games.
SPEAKER_09 (02:28:32):
We may have to.
But also, but also for tomorrow, the return of an institution is
coming back.
Just be ready.
SPEAKER_01 (02:28:40):
That's pa so for
Polly and for Ed's burner and uh
Big Chew Papi, uh that's worthtuning in tomorrow night alone
for what what Virgil is hintingat.
Um so stay tuned.
SPEAKER_09 (02:28:56):
All right, take it
easy, guys.
