Today we are talking with Oleg Lougheed. Oleg has led an extraordinary life. He was born in Russia to parents who were not equipped to take care of him. Because of this, at a very young age he had to find ways to care for himself. When he was 9, his parent's rights were taken away. Oleg was sent to a Russian orphanage, which at first seemed like the ideal place. But soon after his arrival, he realized that his new home was not what it appeared to be. He suffered abuse until he was adopted by an American family from Michigan at the age of 12. Years later he started to document his experience in a blog post and after it was published, he realized that there were many people who had similar stories. Oleg is a Tedx speaker and the founder of the non-profit organization, Overcoming Odds, a community for people who have experienced a similar path, encouraging them to share their unique stories. His journey has taught him, among other things, resilience and he shares his message through his podcast, speaking engagements and workshops, helping people to be resilient in their own lives. Join Deb and Carol as they talk with Oleg about his incredible journey and the strength of the human spirit.  Connect with Oleg www.overcomingodds.today Connect with Carol and Deb https://thedivinebreadcrumb.com (https://thedivinebreadcrumb.com) https://www.instagram.com/thedivinebreadcrumb/ (https://www.instagram.com/thedivinebreadcrumb/) https://www.facebook.com/thedivinebreadcrumb (https://www.facebook.com/thedivinebreadcrumb) https://twitter.com/tdbreadcrumb (https://twitter.com/tdbreadcrumb) Support this podcast

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
