Today we are talking with Oleg Lougheed. Oleg has led an extraordinary life. He was born in Russia to parents who were not equipped to take care of him. Because of this, at a very young age he had to find ways to care for himself. When he was 9, his parent's rights were taken away.
Oleg was sent to a Russian orphanage, which at first seemed like the ideal place. But soon after his arrival, he realized that his new home was not what it appeared to be. He suffered abuse until he was adopted by an American family from Michigan at the age of 12.
Years later he started to document his experience in a blog post and after it was published, he realized that there were many people who had similar stories.
Oleg is a Tedx speaker and the founder of the non-profit organization, Overcoming Odds, a community for people who have experienced a similar path, encouraging them to share their unique stories. His journey has taught him, among other things, resilience and he shares his message through his podcast, speaking engagements and workshops, helping people to be resilient in their own lives.
