(00:00):
I'm back and I am so excited to be back.
(00:05):
So excited that I didn't even dress up
or put on makeup today.
I actually went to a physical therapy appointment
this morning.
Fun fact, I turned 40 last week
and I went there to get some orthotics for my shoes.
Such an old person thing.
Although when I got there, she was like,
(00:26):
you haven't had orthotics since the last time you saw us.
I was like, nope, apparently that was 2010.
So I have been quote unquote old person since my mid-20s
but I'm noticing as I start exercising more,
I'm just getting some pain in my legs and in my hips.
And one of my goals this year is to start focusing more
on my health and my body.
And so I'm like, you know what?
We're gonna go in and get it taken care of.
(00:48):
So probably TMI, but so excited to be back.
I, as you know, if you've listened
to the first season of this podcast,
I took a little break because there was one life stuff
that was bubbling up inside of me
that I needed some time to sort out.
And I wish I had an update on some of that.
I don't have a full update.
(01:08):
Like it is not completed full circle
in terms of me knowing where it's going.
But I've made some progress.
And so that'll be something that I'm sure I'll talk
about at some point when I get to a point
where I wanna talk about it.
But the other thing that was feeling a little off for me
was this focus so much on business owners
(01:29):
because what I realized in pivoting my niche, my niche,
whatever you call it, my focus just to business owners,
I was ignoring a really important part
of my work, of my life.
And that is the experience of moms.
Because me, and I know many people in my audience,
your business owners and your moms,
(01:51):
and you know you're here to heal generational patterns
and be cycle breakers and parent differently
than you were parented.
And so I wanted to find a way to weave that back
into my podcast and my work as well,
as well as bring the spiritual element into.
Those are some of the core foundations of who I am
(02:13):
and who I feel I am here to serve.
It's the moms, it's the entrepreneurs,
it's the spirituality, it's all of that.
And so I wanted to take some time and really dive in
and figure out how can I weave all of that in
and serve that very specific group of people
at a deeper level.
So after doing a lot of play on words
(02:36):
and a lot of playing around with it,
the acronym FEMM was born to describe you amazing women.
Because anything, if I know anything about what I do,
it's, I need a lot of words to really get to the essence
of who I'm here to talk to, who I am.
(02:56):
And so the acronym FEMM was perfect for me.
And so FEMM, what does FEMM stand for?
FEMM is those women, you goddesses,
you amazing ladies who are here to one,
raise a conscious family, so there's F,
two, your purpose-driven entrepreneurs, which is the E,
and three, you're here to experience the spiritual magic
(03:20):
of life, so FEMM.
Also, with that acronym, love the undertone
of like feminine energy too.
So that's one of the other reasons I went with it.
With that, welcome to the Awakened FEMM podcast.
I'm so excited to change the concept a little bit,
(03:41):
to embrace all of those things,
not just the business entrepreneur element,
but that's what I wanna do on this podcast,
is really start to tie those concepts together
in a bit of a different way than what I was doing
for season one.
So season one, there was a mix of personal stories,
there was a mix of teaching concepts,
the top three is the top five, so whatever.
(04:03):
And you all, I can tell by the downloads and the listens,
that you were attracted more to the personal stories.
And so that's what I want to shift this towards
in season two, is really how can I talk about
my stories, client stories, other stories of people
that I see, in a way where I'm weaving
the spiritual lessons into them,
(04:26):
but not just being a master class in disguise.
So that's one of the other things
that I was really contemplating over this time away,
was how am I different than all the other coaches?
Spiritual coaches are not spiritual coaches.
One of the things I realized was,
I actually do have some of the same goals
(04:46):
as some of the other people in this space,
and that's okay, that's not how I need
to differentiate myself.
I went to a speaker in December,
she's another Madison based coach,
and she talks about living your authentic life,
and being your authentic self,
and unleashing your inner rock star,
your inner badass, and I was like,
that's exactly the goal that I have for my clients too.
(05:06):
And then I got the message,
because everything in marketing tells you
you need to be different.
But then I was journaling on it,
and I got the intuitive message,
it's okay to have the same goal as someone else.
What differentiates me is my stories,
is the way I see the world.
And so a lot of people, when I look at podcasts,
they're all teaching and talking about the same concepts.
(05:31):
And how do I make this different is, I share my stories,
I share your stories,
and I weave the concepts through those.
And so that's what I want to experiment with this season,
is how can I make it more story driven,
and a little bit less master classy.
So that's where I'm going, as with season one,
(05:53):
I'm doing this a little bit messy,
I've been kicking the tires around this concept,
like I've had the concept for a while,
it's just I got stuck on the title of the podcast,
if I'm completely transparent,
because titling feels important,
at the same time,
I know the content will speak for itself,
beyond the titling too.
And so finally last night,
(06:14):
I was like, you know what,
I'm just gonna decide the Awakened Femme.
It's also the name of my email community,
which I will leave a link below,
if you wanna join that community as well,
I give extra special tips every Sunday,
in the Soul Magic Sunday newsletter.
But I thought, you know what,
why not just make it the Awakened Femme podcast?
Let's talk about these concepts.
(06:34):
And I was like, boom, all right, I'm gonna do it,
because I have been in a little bit of a funk,
I've been in a bit of a tire kicking situation,
around what I wanna do, what I wanna talk about.
And finally I realized,
that you don't get out of a funk,
by waiting to get out of a funk,
you get out of a funk by taking action.
And so this is me taking action,
(06:55):
it's not perfect action,
I'm going to let it birth itself over time,
but I am excited to be back behind the mic,
because last year, whenever I did a list of,
what do I love about my business,
podcasting was always the first one.
And it was the thing that I got the most feedback about.
And so one of the ways of getting out of a funk,
(07:17):
is getting back to what you love.
So I'm so excited to get into this season,
to share more, and it'll be magical,
it'll be spiritual, it'll be,
I like to look at the world from a different lens,
and a lot of people,
and I'm excited to share all of those things,
(07:37):
with you, in this podcast.
So that is the new branding, the new title.
And before I hop off really quick,
I also thought I would give a quick update,
on where I left you in the last season,
which was I was working as a coach,
for a company called Cause Life.
And I actually discontinued that relationship,
(07:59):
early December.
And it was perfect, and it was fine.
I got into the relationship,
and I don't look at anything as wrong, or a mistake,
because I feel like you can only get into something,
you only have a set amount of information,
in order to make a decision.
And you make a decision in the present moment,
(08:19):
and you haven't lived the future moment,
and so you have no idea,
where it's going to go in the future moment.
And so I looked back on the present moment,
and I said, okay, this is why I made the decision,
and I understand why I made the decision,
it was the right decision at the time.
And I learned a lot from that.
The coach, Zach, is an amazing transformational coach,
and I did a lot of healing,
(08:40):
and he was pulling some things out of me,
that no other coach had pulled out of me before,
specifically because he's male.
I haven't worked with male coaches before.
I had a lot of old patterns coming up,
from the masculine side of my family.
So I've done a lot of healing on the feminine,
on self-worth, and so I started,
(09:02):
I've started healing more around the masculine.
And so that was really interesting,
and a really special opening for me.
And so the whole experience was wonderful,
and transformational.
And then as we went through it,
and this was an early business for him as well,
and so he was shifting some things,
as he was testing and learning,
(09:24):
and at some point,
the way that the business was shaping
was just not in alignment anymore,
with the reason I joined the agreement to begin with,
and where I thought the business was going.
And so it was fine.
I left and I told him I was discontinuing the contract,
and we had some conversation back and forth
(09:44):
that was really interesting,
because he kept saying,
it's nice to be able to have a mature conversation about this.
And so it was hard for me to share my truth
on some of the things that I saw,
and some of the hesitations that I had on continuing,
but I did it as best I could
in a really thoughtful, conscious way,
choosing my words in a way that I wasn't blaming,
(10:07):
I wasn't pointing fingers,
I was just sharing my experience,
and sharing my observations.
And he came back and he was like,
I can totally understand where you're coming from.
And so that's just a note that,
like I know a lot of people,
it hurts to be honest,
and there's a lot of ghosting that goes on,
but there's also so much beauty
(10:28):
that can come from a transparent, mature conversation.
And that's really what I feel like many of us are missing,
but would just enhance our experience of life so, so much.
So let me just put that plug out there too,
that if you ever notice a situation
where you wanna speak up,
and for me, it wasn't about needing closure,
(10:51):
because I feel like if you ever need someone else
to give you closure,
you're giving your power away to that other person,
because you can't control what other people give you.
And so for me, I didn't speak up to give closure.
I spoke up because he created an opening for feedback,
and then I constructively gave feedback.
I'm also a projector in human design,
(11:12):
and I've learned that you never wanna give your opinion
without being invited to give your opinion.
It's not always received very well,
and so I was very cautiously tiptoeing.
If you want feedback, I'll give it.
And he opened a door to an avenue, and so I gave it.
So all that to say, don't be a goaster.
Like this is a really important skill.
(11:34):
I feel like we can all learn
is how to have a constructive mature conversation
where we share perspectives
without harming the other person's integrity,
without pointing fingers, and all of that.
So that is my quick life update on that.
And I think I will leave it at that the next few episodes.
(11:56):
I'm really excited.
I'm going to unpack my trip to Cuba.
So I went to Cuba.
I, let's see, January 18th through the 25th,
I turned 40 in Cuba,
and it was a really amazing trip.
And I went there with conscious intention
and how I wanted to experience the trip.
(12:16):
And I wanna talk all about
just what I learned about myself,
what I learned about creating a reality,
and being conscious, and just all the things.
So those will be the next, at least one.
We'll see, I talk a lot,
so we'll see how many episodes I unpack Cuba.
But that will be what is coming up.
So again, thank you for being here,
(12:37):
and I am excited to have you on board for season two.
