Speaker 1 (00:00):
Do you want to five? It's the Erica Show. So excited.
The Raleig Christmas Prey going down tomorrow and we've got
some incredible talent coming through, including Dlzen. She is a songstress, musician, writer,
I mean recognized all over. You are just incredible and
so we're so excited to have you at the parade.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Thank you. I'm so excited to be a part. I
can't wait.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Okay, So what are you singing? Because I know that
you got a song and it has to go through
all the approvals and all the stuff. So what are
you going to be performing tomorrow?

Speaker 2 (00:28):
So I'm definitely going to perform one of the traditional
Christmas songs, the Christmas Song. I'm not sure if you're
familiar with that one. And of course, this is what
Christmas means to me because that's just a classic. You know.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Have you ever and they call you dottie by the way,
so we'll call you dotty. That's what your friends and
family call you. Right. Have you ever been to the
Raleig Christmas Parade or you usually watch it on TV.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
I've seen it, but I've never been apart, No, I haven't.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Okay, so we'll be out there early in the code.
Hopefully it's not raining. It doesn't matter though, it's going
to be good. It kind of kicks off the holiday
season and the goal. So how did you get your start,
because I mean, you're blowing up, got a big following.
How did it all start for you? And you were like,
I'm gifted? How did you know that?

Speaker 2 (01:09):
They are still so much confident to me. So I've
always known I've been gifted. It's just me having to
implement working and you know, the gifts. But I've always
loved music since I was a kid. I've been thinking
since I was about two or three, since I could talk, basically,
I've been thinking.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
And your goal was music therapy. Is that right?

Speaker 2 (01:28):
I wanted to be a music therapist, but my career
paths changed unfortunately. But I'm still able to do music
full time, which I absolutely love the fact that I
can do that and still work and you know, provide
for my family.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
So coming up in the future, like, I mean, obviously,
what is the goal for you in the next couple
of years.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
I would love to be a traveling, touring artist. I'm
actually currently working on a live recording right now of
original music, and it's been something that I've been wanting
to put out for a few years now, So I'm
hoping this for catapult my career.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Absolutely, thank you. Where can people see you? Now? I
know that Carolina waves big advocates for you, like we're
all on this call. And you know, Mira, she's like
incredible talent, like absolutely the person to know she is
so amazing.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
She is, she really is. She's actually the reason why
we're able to have this opportunity, you know, singing at
the Christmas Parade.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
I love that. And you're often performing around the triangles.
So where can we come and see you perform live?

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Well, I'm always gigging around the area, even outside of
the area, so you all can't keep up with me
on social media. Again, my name is DLSN That's d
l z e n E. And if I'm ever having
a show that is not a private evan, I'm always
welcome to come.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
All right, So Dale is going to be performing at
the Raleigh Christmas Parade tomorrow, which you'll see if you
don't get to make it in person, you'll see it
on Thanksgiving Day where they aired on ABC. But we
are just so excited to see you tomorrow. Come take
a selfie with you cause you are on your way
for sure. You got so much talent.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
Thank you so much, really appreciate that.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Before you go, give us two fun facts about yourself
that we don't see on stage.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Two things that is unique about me. I love to
play basketball. I don't know that's a unique thing, but
I was read athletic growing up and basketball is still
one of my favorite sports. And another unique thing. I
do perform this sometimes, but I am a whistler. So

(03:25):
anything that I see, I can whistle.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Wait me too.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
When I'm doing live show sometimes I'll like surprise the
crowd it's not whistling, and it's always across Leason. So
but yes, I love to whistle.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Okay, so you know I used to win whistle contests
growing up and people think it's such a talent. I
was like, wait, y'all can't whistle, and a lot of
people can.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
I know that realized like because I've been whistling so
I was a kid, like my dad used to do
it around me and I've eventually picked it up and
I've never thought so love.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
The fun fact. All right, So DL's gonna be performing
at the Raleig Christmas pread tomorrow. You don't want to
miss it. Tell us again, where can everybody follow you again?

Speaker 2 (04:03):
I am Dottie a K A d O Van and
there's d l V E n E. It's nice beginning
of all today
