Speaker 1 (00:00):
No, that's the Erica Show on GE.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Do you think your relationship can work if you're on
the opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to
your political views, Cory, you got some issues going on
right now.
Speaker 3 (00:11):
Yeah, I'm just I'm not sure what to do anymore, because,
you know, I come from a family that has, you know,
one set of political beliefs. We all agree with each other,
and my husband and his family have completely contradicting views.
Like it's to the point where they're unfriending me on
social media. You know, the elections are coming up and everything,
(00:33):
and they can't handle what I'm posting. And I truly
don't understand how people say happily married if they have
such different political views.
Speaker 4 (00:44):
Yeah, it's I mean, it's one thing I think if
they're minor, But it sounds like this is extreme, complete
opposite ends of the spectrum.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
It just gets worse and worse, like to the point
that now they're unfriending me.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Oh, that's a problem. I don't kind that happen to
be actually, and it wasn't even my fault. I'll list
made a comment on my page and some of my
husband's family unfriended me.
Speaker 4 (01:03):
Oh, I just don't think it's gonna work out. I
think if you're at the opposite end politically, you're not
going to respect the other person as a person. So,
oh that's tough.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
Though, if you the love is could be strong.
Speaker 4 (01:14):
I don't think it's gonna work out.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Nine one nine eight six zh one oh five to one?
What insight? What advice do you have for her?
Speaker 3 (01:20):
Do you?
Speaker 2 (01:20):
And if I's the Erica Show, Corey calling in, she's
at a loss because her and her husband are fighting
more now that it's a political year. They have different views,
but also the families are getting involved and so there's
unfriending happening. Can you survive if you have such opposing views?
Speaker 4 (01:34):
I don't think if they're extreme, I don't think so, Ashlynn,
what do you think?
Speaker 5 (01:37):
I feel like it could still work. I just think
they just don't bring it up, honestly, because everybody has
their own opinions. They're supposed to really be arguing about
politics anyway, and you know, if the family brings it up,
just ignore them. That's how I honestly feel, because you know,
you can't make people change your mind either.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Have you ever been at a family function where a
fight breaks out because of some it's in political.
Speaker 5 (02:01):
No, I haven't.
Speaker 4 (02:02):
You haven't been to one of my family functions there?
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Oh your family's broken up? Like got angry because of that?
Speaker 4 (02:07):
Don't I thought everyone I thought it was normal. I
thought everybody's did.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
Do you and if five?
Speaker 2 (02:11):
As the Erica Show, can your relationship survive? Corey reaching out?
She said, me and my husband are completely different. Our
families feel differently and it's causing fights.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
Can we make it amy?
Speaker 3 (02:21):
What?
Speaker 4 (02:21):
You think?
Speaker 1 (02:22):
You know what? I think it's possible, because you know,
if you love each other, you understand where you're both
are coming from. I feel like if you're both educated
and you have, you know, like a decent stance on
your on your political views, I think it's okay. I
think it's okay if you have a strong relationship. If
you have a weak relationship, I highly doubt that's going
to survive.
Speaker 4 (02:41):
Okay, But I don't want to make it uncomfortable in here,
but I will because we're talking about people who are
at the opposite ends of this political spectrum. So yeah,
if you are pro life and you're with somebody who's
pro choice, can you really be okay with that?
Speaker 2 (02:57):
That's a tough one, But I was about to ask
you the same thing. You've been married, happily married for
a while. You and your husband are on the same page.
Suddenly he flips the script and he's going for a
candidate that you're like, highly against. Is that gonna make
you break up or you'll work through it?
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Wow? Delayed there.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Now we know where your husband stands.
