What’s up y’all of little faith and welcome to the 5th episode of season 2 of The Fagnostic Podcast.

I’m your hostess, not your Moses, Mat Hayes. And if I’m still giving you episodes, it means I’m still looking for answers.

Y’all, we are officially in Pride month and I have one of our fiercest allies here with us today.

Malynda Hale is a voice with a voice. Originally from Santa Barbara, she has made her way through town as an incredible vocalist who has become a prominent figure on many of today’s most controversial topics.

From social justice to LGBTQ advocacy, from progressive Christianity to Black Lives Matter, from female empowerment to veganism, and most currently relevant, reproductive choice, she lives a life that is lead by the legacy of Christ as she sees it.

She has an incredible podcast called #weneedtotalk, so when you’re done with this one, go on over to that one and give it a good listen!

She has served as worship leader at various churches and also sits on the board of the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice.

While I’ve mostly been an audience member, we do share one credit: Sex Sent Me To the ER

I am so thankful for voices like hers and I’m honored to have her share her journey and thoughts on the state of the world from a love-lead perspective.

Welcome to the show Malynda Hale!

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
