SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
These are the goals that I set for 2026, but you

(00:04):
have permission to change, totear up, to disrupt my plans so
that they can be a perfectalignment with your perfect will
for my life.
That comes with trust and theLord was like, I got you.

(00:32):
Welcome to the Finally HealedPodcast, where we prioritize
mental health, self-care, andembracing our healing journey
together.
When I tell you that I am soproud of you, like I know you
had all of these goals anddreams and wishes and desire,
and 2025 was gonna be your year.

(00:53):
And sis, let me tell yousomething.
Whether 2025 you accomplish allof your goals, your hopes, your
dreams, and your desires, ornot, it was still your year.
Let me tell you why.
Because you're still here.
You are still here thriving, looking fine, looking fresh.
You are amazing.

(01:14):
And I just want to tell you, I'mso proud of you.
I know this time of year can beso challenging, y'all.
Like I know some of you feellike you're already done with
2025, like you are so into thefuture on 2026.
But I just want to pause you fora minute.
Since I know you're ready to doyour vision board, I know you're

(01:35):
ready to celebrate for the newyear.
But let me pause you for aminute because we still got work
to do, right?
And so sometimes this time ofyear can feel very conflicting
because one on one hand, youmight be worried about some of
the things that you didn'tachieve.

(01:56):
The other thing, sometimes thenew year brings what I call new
delusion, meaning we thinkbecause the calendars have
changed over, that our ourmindset has instantly changed.
But that lets me know that wehave more inner work to be done.
So before we start setting thesebig goals that I know and I will

(02:17):
prophesy over you that you willachieve, I just want to spend
some time reflecting andreleasing so that we can
actually receive the restorationand start the new year off
renewed, revitalized, but that'sonly gonna come from

(02:39):
self-reflection.
And so, as your big sister, whether I'm technically older
than you or younger than you, today I'm gonna be your big sis
and we're gonna have some honestconversations and dialogues
because I believe thatself-reflection mixed with
self-belief is truly gonna allowyou to have 2026 be the best

(03:03):
year of your life.
Don't you want that?
Like, don't you want the newyear to feel new and exciting
and it not wear off within thefirst two weeks?
Like, I believe that's yourportion.
I believe the absolute best.
But we're gonna have to lookback a little bit.
I know there's a temptation of,you know, the year's over, I
don't want to look back, but Iknow anytime I spend time and

(03:26):
deep reflection from a place ofhonesty, so much comes out of
that.
And I'll I'll start with alittle honesty and vulnerability
so that I can meet you there.
When I look over this year, Ihad to be honest that there were
some spaces and places that Iwasn't really letting God lead

(03:49):
and guide me.
Let me say, let me say that.
Let me be honest.
There were some decisions Imade.
There might have been somepeople that I associated with,
there might have been someplaces that I did that I might
have just gone out of emotion, right?
You know, sometimes we get aninvitation, we just say yes
because we're excited, or therewere times where I wasn't even
checking in on my mental healthand my well-being.

(04:09):
I was just saying yes to stuff.
And so I realized this is whythe scripture is so clear in I
believe Proverbs 3, 5 through 6that says, trust in the Lord
with all of your heart and leannot on your own understanding.
Because so it's so easy to leanon your own understanding.
And it says, acknowledge hisways and all you do, and he will

(04:30):
direct your path.
I realized one, I wasn'ttrusting.
And I think sometimes it's okayfor us to identify that we still
got trust issues, and that'sokay as long as we're working on
it.
And I realized I there were insome areas of my life I was
leading and guiding my own self.
And so if you desire to kind ofhave that softness and that soft

(04:51):
life in 2026, it's going to comefrom releasing your own way and
releasing your own desires.
I believe everybody has to havea word or intentionality or a
phrase or um a scripture or amantra or something to root your
year in.

(05:11):
And initially I was like, oh, myyear gonna my word is gonna be
consistency.
Let me know in the in thecomments, put down in the
comments what your word for 2026is going to be.
I was like, oh, my role, my wordis gonna be consistency because
I need to be in the gym and Ineed to post this content.
I do all of this stuff, and allof that stuff was okay, but it
was self-seeking.
And so when I asked the Lord tosubmit your plans, trust the

(05:34):
Lord and everything you do,okay.
I trusted the Lord, I said, Hey,these are the goals that I set
for 2026, but you havepermission to change, to tear
up, to disrupt my plans so thatthey can be a perfect alignment
with your perfect will for mylife, right?

(05:55):
That comes from trust.
And the Lord was like, I gotyou.
Your word for this year issurrender, right?
And ironically enough, I was atan event recently doing a
keynote, and then I break out insongs singing, I surrender all.
And so it doesn't surprise methat I am now having my

(06:17):
intentionality for 2026 to besurrendered because I feel like
if I surrender my plans to theLord, He can make them perfect.
If I surrender, that is adifferent heart posture that is
not self-seeking.
And I believe, I declare, and Idecree that 2026 is gonna be the
best year of my life because I'mnot going into it with just my

(06:41):
plans.
I am open to whatever God isgoing to be able to do.
And so I want to encourage youas you're reflecting on 2025, be
honest with yourselves on thehighs, on the lows, on the
things that worked, on thethings that didn't work.
Like I like to do this insolitude, right?

(07:02):
I'm actually going away again toretreat.
I am huge on retreating in themonth of December so that I am
properly reflecting.
And I'm not gonna lie, I liketo, I like to reflect at Chateau
Alain.
It's one of my favorite places.
I like, I like to reflect inluxury, okay?
I like to reflect um whilehaving a delicious treat.

(07:22):
Okay.
Like I like to reflect and seebeauty and wonder.
And so I want to encourage youas you're even thinking about
what is important to you goinginto the new year.
I want you to have a rest plan.
Yes, okay.
I know we want to have the thebeautiful vacations and we want
to achieve all these dreams andget more followers and grow our

(07:43):
business or get a promotion, allthose things.
But can rest, can rest be a partof the plan?
Because I don't know about you,but when I'm rested, like I can
think more clearly and I canaccomplish more things.
So I believe if you go into thethe new year from a place of

(08:05):
reflection and then you'rewilling after reflecting to
release.
See, there's so much power inrelease, it can be so easy to
hold everything in.
I remember I went through aseason, and let me know in the
comments if you can relate.
I went through a season where Iwas suppressing, meaning I would

(08:28):
have different situations andcircumstances and challenges
come up in my life, and I wouldsay, I will deal with that
later.
Can I tell you a secret?
Later never came.
It just never came.
It was never convenient for meto work on my stresses and my
challenges.
And so I stuffed so much thatthat's when depression showed

(08:50):
up.
That's when anxiety showed up.
That's when fear, that's whenunbelief, like all of these
things are associated withsuppressing.
And so as we're having this veryhonest, vulnerable conversation,
there are some things that youknow you need to release.
There's some stuff that you'recarrying that you cannot afford

(09:11):
to take into the new yearbecause it's going to distract
you from your purpose and youralignment.
So I want you to be reallyhonest with yourself, what that
release might look like.
Now, for some of you, it mightlook like grief.
As I've become a lot moreemotionally intelligent,
spending more time working onmyself and my emotional

(09:35):
well-being, I realized thatgrief shows up in so many
different ways.
You can lost the identity thatyou had, you can lose wanting
your life to look a certain wayand it doesn't look that way.
You could be dealing with someresentment, you could be dealing
with some just unprocessedemotions and trauma that's

(09:55):
showing up in your lifeunexpectedly.
And as you have these goals andthese dreams and these desires,
we can't afford this emotionalweight and challenges to hold
you down when you were born tothrive, when you were born to
achieve things that have neverbeen done before in the earth.

(10:17):
So as you spend the timereflecting, as you spend the
time releasing, I believe you'regoing to go into a season of
restoration.
Yes, I believe that restorationis your portion.
And that is going to happen whenyou release.
I promise you that a restorationthat you have been desiring and

(10:39):
you've been praying for, andmaybe even fasting for is coming
to you when you're willing tolet go of things that no longer
serve you.
And then you'll be able to gointo the new year renewed and
revitalized with this energy andexcitement.
And this will allow you to beconsistent in the gym past the

(11:01):
two weeks like everybody else.
This will allow you to beexcited as you're reviewing your
goals throughout the year.
We don't want to just set thesevision boards and these goals.
And I'm telling you, visionboards work.
Setting your goals.
My husband and I, we actuallyhad a strategic planning two-day

(11:22):
meeting for our family and ourpersonal lives.
And then I have a whole notherone next week for my business.
So I am huge on the strategy andcoming up with things and being
intentional and planning and allof those things.
Please still do that.
But I'm just saying, before youplan, release.
Before you build, reflect.

(11:44):
Because without those twothings, belief is going to be
missing.
And y'all know how much Ibelieve in the power of belief.
So much so, I created a wholeresource for you that is
completely free called theBelief Blueprint.
If you check the show notes, you'll be able to find out how
to download your free copybecause I want you to go into

(12:06):
the new year with belief higherthan it has ever been before.
So we have come to my favoritepart, which is the healing
moment, where we're gonnarelease some stuff.
We're gonna give some homeworkso that we can actually achieve
all of the things that we hopeand dream and desire to happen.
And your homework is to gosomewhere quiet.

(12:30):
If you can, go somewherebeautiful.
If you're a mom, you might haveto lock yourself in the
bathroom, okay?
Get you a notepad.
Don't even use a note section inyour phone.
Like I want you to go oldschool, pen to paper.
And I want you to identify theone thing.
I know there's probably 10things, and that's okay if you
got a lot, okay?
But I want you to be honest withyourself.

(12:52):
What is the one thing that youcannot afford to take with you
into 2026?
What must you release now?
And I want you to start walkingyourself, start coaching
yourself, start counselingyourself through the process
necessary to release.
It is okay that if I'm sharingthis with you right now, that

(13:13):
tears might be rolling down yourface.
You might be thinking, some ofyou might feel a little bit
stuck.
It's like, man, like I'mnothing's coming to mind.
Sit with it a little bit longer.
This isn't something that mightnot just come with you
immediately.
You might actually need to sit,get quiet, rest, journal, pray.
Like it might cost you somethingto identify what needs to be

(13:35):
released.
But when I tell you, what it'sgoing to do for your life is
completely worth it.
So I just want to tell you, I amproud of you since you crushed
it this year as you're goinginto this holiday season.
Take a little time for yourselfbefore you give everything to
everybody else so that it canstill be a good season for you

(13:58):
too.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
