A day at the beach with her two then-small boys inspired Kate to design a product with minimal waste. She spent yearsprototyping her patented design and material before manufacturing theseone-of-a-kind compostable beach toys. Her toys are designed in Hawaii, made inCalifornia and used on beaches across the US. They will compost overnight in acountertop composter. (Yes, you read that right!)
She now partners with manufacturers to provide this compostable, non-toxic, plant-based material, increasing the impact andaccess to alternatives to fossil-based plastics. Beach toys are just thebeginning…
When not reducing plastic waste, Kate boogieboards with her two (now teenage) boys, surfs with friends, and chases herthree rescue dogs with her (retired Air Force) husband on windward Oahu.
