Happy Women's History Month and Endometriosis Awareness Month! This class is packed with info on a wildly misunderstood disease: Endometriosis. Often considered a "period disease", it's tragically under-researched even though we KNOW that it affects the entire body AND it's recognized as one of the most painful diseases you can have. Autumn had her first visit with an endo specialist and will be sharing the entire journey on the pod (process, feelings, cost, final diagnosis—everything).

We get a bit heated because, as women, internalized rage kinda comes with the package. From the "wandering womb" to "hysteria", we give quite a ridiculous (but entirely true) history lesson this episode. Lexie gives us all the info on somatic practices to release some of this anger so that we can stay healthy enough to fight the patriarchy. Somatic techniques are necessary nowadays. Otherwise, the emotions stay in our body and wreak absolute havoc; they can make you physically sick, cause neck, back, and hip problems, and cause/worsen mental health issues (it may sound woo woo crazy but we swear this is actual science, look it up!).

We don't want to be all doom and gloom though, despite women's health and history involving quite a bit of darkness. That's why we unpack this study that found potential biomarkers in the blood for endometriosis, meaning that at some point in the future, we may have a way to diagnose it that doesn't involve slicing open a b*tch's abdomen.
