(02:08):
assignment out of the country tonight, so he will not
be here. But that's okay because we get a great
co host, Phil in tonight. Coming up on tonight's show,
we're going to talk about a lot of stuff going
on in week ten in the FFPC. We had the
trade deadline this past week. What do you do with
your Seattle receivers, What do you do with your Kansas
City receivers? What do you do with your Las Vegas

(02:30):

we're gonna talk to the eleventh place overall team in

remind you for everybody who is looking for some weekly

I want to bring in I mentioned at the top

(04:17):
of the show. Farrell is on assignment. He's out of
the country. He's doing a lot of stuff right now,
so he can't be a part of the show tonight. However,
very excited to bring this guy board. He is sitting
coming into week ten of the FFPC main event. He
is sitting in eleventh place, which means only ten teams
separate him from winning that million dollar grand prize in

(04:39):
the FFPC main event going into Week ten. This is
a guy that we're very excited to bring on tonight,
and it's a guy that's gonna educate you and we're
gonna have a lot of fun with for sure tonight.
Please welcome making his debut on the High Sakes Fantasy
Football Hour one, Doug Haynes. Doug, so glad to have
you on tonight. Man, hold on, there we go. So

(05:00):
I got it. I just had to figure it out.
We got you on right now, Doug. Good evening, How
are you man? Pretty good?

Speaker 3 (05:06):
I'm not sure I'm gonna educate anybody, but I am.
I am definitely honored to be able to join you
talk fantasy for the next hour. I will say this
like I try to talk my wife about fantasy and
she leaves the room in five minutes. So hopefully we
don't have the same result. But I am I am
disappointed at Farrell's not gonna be a join us. I

(05:28):
was looking forward to talking to him, and I know,
I hope we have low expectations because those are big
shoes of Phil.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Doug. Here's my promise to you if you end up
winning this million bucks in the FFPC Maine event. This year,
not only will Ferrell join us on a show with you,
me and him, I will have him launch a new
podcast with you and him, just solely all about FFPC,
all about the KFFFC, and you can have him aboard tonight.

(05:58):
I feel bad that he's not on the show tonight,
but I'm very excited to talk with you tonight because
this is I mean, we're talking about rarefied air here
Man November seventh, twenty five, and you go into week
ten eleventh place overall in the main event. I can't
imagine what that's like. What is it like for you?

Speaker 3 (06:16):
Oh, it's exciting. You know, you have to there's a
lot of luck involved obviously, and I have to have
good fortune and stuff. But yeah, it's uh, it's kind
of crazy. I mean I remember last year, I think
I was in the hundreds and I felt pretty good
about that. So it's a long way to go, long
way to go, and but I do appreciate the good center.
It's a good introduction. There's other leagues too that I'm in.

(06:39):
I'm doing pretty well, but yeah, the main event is
the one and only.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
What do you think about you know, because I feel
like you have been, you know, sort of floating at
the top of the leaderboard, not only this past week,
but the last month, last month plus. What's it been
like seeing your name and your team up at the
top of the leaderboard because this is I mean, a
lot of people play in the f f PC will
never see that, but you've been seeing it quite frank

(07:06):
quite quite frankly frequently over the last several weeks in
the f f PC main event.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Yeah, I've been, you know, that leaderboard things pretty cool
look at. You know. You don't even spend as much
time in my standings. I just kept kind of looking
at the leaderboard even last night, just like seeing how
far you go down, you know. And so you know,
when Jake Ferguson took that zero a couple of weeks ago,
I think I kind of shrunk a little bit there.
But yeah, it's pretty cool. And I tell you what
my wife will tell you, Sundays are stressful in our household.

(07:33):
She's like, why are you so up? And you know,
and I was like, I gotta get a touchdown here,
and they're given Mark Andrews a tush push at the
one instead of giving the ball to Henry. It's just
kind of it's some of the things that happen in
fantacy football. I think all the the the the audience
will admit everyone it happens to every one of us.
But uh, yeah, that gets frustrated. But it's it's it's
so fun to do. It's released for me, for my

(07:55):
you know, busy job, and just uh, it's just it's
it's something I I caught on the FFBC. I think
I heard you on an x TIM radio and that's
how I got started on it. And I think I've
been in it three or four years and kind of
kept building on it. But yeah, it's I've done pretty
well in the twelve, you know, in my regular leagues,

(08:17):
and I was able to leverage that and this year
is obviously this might be the best team, knock on wood,
that I've ever had. I feel, I mean, it feels
like it with the team I have right now in
this league, so that league.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
Yeah, and I think, Doug, this is important. Let's lead
off with that. Why is this the best team that
you've ever had? Did you do anything differently coming into
the twenty twenty five drafts or was this just Hey,
the ball has bounced my way. I got really good quarterbacks,
running backs, receivers, tight ends, whatever, like, I drafted really
good this year. Did you do anything different in this

(08:50):
draft season as opposed to previous draft seasons?

Speaker 3 (08:54):
Yeah, and and what I do a lot of times,
and especially this year, and especially the main event and
the girl where you know, a million dollars is on
the line and you're trying to strive to get the
most points. And what I tried to do and it
doesn't happen, you know, on every you know, I look
at Volume two, but even on the lighter picks, I'm
trying to find teams who one have not a great

(09:15):
defense and two have the potential to have a lot
of scoring, you know, positential. You know, for example, the Cowboys,
you know, going in, I knew they had a bad
defense going in, and you read all this stuff in
the offseason, and then you knew their offense would be powerful.
I try to stay away from the Jets players, the
Browns players, the Saants players, And so when I'm going
through my draft, I'm that's kind of what I'm looking at.

(09:36):
I'm looking at, you know, teams that are going to
be in and over unders in the high forties or
lower fifties in those kind of games. So you know,
because the end of the line here is you want
to have the most points. I know there's head to head,
but if you have the most points in your league,
you're going to qualify for those weeks fifteen through seventeen
and that's where the big money comes. So that's kind
of what I did this year. I do in a

(09:57):
lot of the bigger leagues. I do it in, but
it's especially in the main event and the girls.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
I think that we're gonna explore explore this over the
next half hour on the show tonight, or maybe half
hour plus as you are joining me for the full
hour tonight. Before we get into everything Fantasy football, I
want to ask you, when you're not hanging around the
top of the leader board in the FFPC Made event
in twenty twenty five, Doug, can you let us know

(10:24):
what you're doing for a living.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
Yeah. I think it's kind of similar to some of
your other guests. I'm in the financial world. I'm a CPA.
I'm gonna counting head at investment management company here in Arizona.
So I do that and then, like I said, fantacy
football is kind of released from me. I also enjoy
spending so much time with my family. I have two sons,
two dollar walls. We all kind of do fancy football

(10:46):
or they love football in some cases. We have kind
of parties every Sunday, especially to watch our teams play.
And I have those you know, those moments to talk
fantasy football with my boys and usually became a granddad,
your granddad. So I have a one year old granddad
and a two month old granddad or grandkid. Yeah, so

(11:07):
I can't wait to they're old enough so I can
just pay in fancy football, maybe get them an f
p F f PCR.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
That's what it's solid about paying it forward. For sure.
You mentioned like, uh, you know, having this with your kids,
how old are your kids? Like, do you co own
any of these teams with your kids at all?

Speaker 3 (11:26):
No? I I do get advice from them, and they
have their separate leagues. They're not in they're not they're
not in the f f PC.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
Yet.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
I've tried to you know, I've talked to them about
it and I actually to I've just explained to one
of my boys the main part of it I've co owned,
like baseball in Baseball league, so I've comed done them
with them, but I do have a lot of discussions
with them about players. I'll get a text every one
once in a while about you know who do I
start hearing? Like last week, my kids asked me and
I kind of I said Kelsey or kin Kid, And

(11:56):
I'm a I'm a chief fan and ural family's Chiefs
fans and you can probably see that by my teams.
But I told them Kelsey, and look what kin Kid did,
So I apologize to him really quickly. I had actually
the same choice, and kin Kid was on my bench,
so you know, in this same league, so we all
make mistakes. But yeah, it's it's it's really fun to

(12:16):
have this have this interaction with the boys and they
know what's going on. They're old enough. Once thirty over,
you know, thirty four, the other ones twenty eight, So yeah,
they're old enough that they get involved in this. And
they're not in probably in many as leagues as I am,
but they are definitely involved.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
So let me ask you this. You're a Chiefs fan,
You're living out on the left coast in Arizona. How
does one become uh like, like, what was this a
case of you like living in the middle part of
the United States and you became a Chiefs fan there.
How do you develop your chief fandom? And I'm going
to get into this in a second, because clearly it's
bled over into your FFPC High Stakes Fantasy Football League ownership,

(12:56):
and that's caused you to be near the top of
the leaderboard right now. How does one become a Chiefs
fan living in.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
Arizona Originally from Missouri. So I've been me and my
wife been chief fan since early nineties and we went
through some we've been through some tough years and you know,
luckily hit the jackpot with number fifteen there. But but yeah,
we've been a Chiefs fan. I've been out in Arizona
since what your two thousand, I think, so it's been

(13:25):
Salmon Arizona resident now. But yeah, I'm true and true
Chiefs fan. So but yeah, from the Midwest.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
It's funny because this past Tuesday night on The Rodove's
High Stakes Load On had kirk Ki kiss back on
the show, and he, you know, he's been all over
the country, lived a lot of his life in southern California,
but now he's in Arizona as well. So we talked
a lot about the Arizona Cardinals. Do you have any
pension towards Kyler Murray, Marvin Harrison, James Connor, Trey Benson,

(13:52):
Trey McBride, any of these guys in Arizona at all?
Or are you strictly one chiefs?

Speaker 3 (13:58):
No, one of my other main event I have more Harrison,
So I've been kind of happy that because he didn't
he wasn't clicking with Kyler. I have no interest in Kyler.
I had Trey Benson and unfortunately that didn't work out.
You know, he'll be back, but uh, I did have
him in some of the leagues. But yeah, I have
Marvin Harrison in my other main event league, So I'm

(14:18):
very happy. Last week, I think he had the most
targets or most catches he's had as a pro, and
so I don't it just seemed like him and Kyler
were never hitting it, and so it's it's pretty cool
to see that.

Speaker 1 (14:30):
Are we going to see it? Like, not that I
want to dwell on the Cardinals, but I feel like
there's you know, you you watch I can't remember who
was I think it was JJ Zecherson talking about this
with THEO Gremager on one of the Fantasy Points podcasts,
and he pointed out how Marvin Harrison is sort of
like a reserved guy, very understated. And then when he

(14:53):
was asked about Jacoby Brissett running this offense as opposed
to Kyler Murray, smile from ear to you look like
the cheshire cat. He was very excited. Can we read
enough into this to say that, hey, Marvin Harrison really
likes the fact that Brissett is in at quarterback over
the next four weeks plus now that Kyler Murray is

(15:14):
on injured reserve? Is this a player? And you know,
if you have any insight into this, Doug, I'd love
to hear it. But is this a player both these players,
Prisett and Harrison, that we can like bump up our rankings,
bump up our you know, starter sit categories when we

(15:36):
talk about, you know what we have on each of
our high stakes leagues based on Brissett being in charge
of this offense. Now, because it seems like everybody in
Arizona really love this? Do you love this with I.

Speaker 3 (15:49):
Would say, you know, I was never a Kyler fan.
I don't have Kyler anywhere, so I'm not sure I'll
pick up Perssett anywhere, but I do believe based on
last week's buy language a little lot different like you
had said, and so I think going forward, I think
I'm not putting him on my bench or McBride. I
had Harrison on my bench like three weeks ago now,

(16:10):
and I'm glad because he didn't do anything. But last week,
hopefully last week was a indication of what we'll see now.
They're playing Seattle this week. There will probably be a
lot of points scored. You know, they don't have a
shutdown corner, but they have a good defense, so it'll
be interesting to see how they do this week. The
second weekend. There's more tape on Brissette now, but based
on Bay Language Harrison night and day last week compared

(16:34):
to the other.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
I want to bring this up too as well. And
I feel guilty about this because Farrell Elliott is the
biggest Michael Pittman fan on Planet Earth, like even more
so than Michael Pittman himself. But I want to bring
this up tonight. Pittman over the last let me just
do this over the course of the first few weeks

(16:56):
of the season six for eighty four for forty six
for seventy three, five for forty one, five for thirty
nine to two for twenty. You don't sneeze at that
like that is something. It's not great, but it is something. However,
if we go back to week seven, Doug and start
from week seven, seven fifty eight in a touchdown, eight
for ninety five in a touchdown this past week against Pittsburgh,

(17:20):
nine for one hundred and fifteen as well, what's the
likelihood that Michael Pittman's magical season continues, given that he
has not put up these types of numbers over the
course of his career, and we're halfway through the season
and he's already doubled up on the touchdowns that he
scored this year. He's got one, two, three, four five,

(17:41):
So he's got six touchdowns this year. That has not
been something that he has been able to accomplish halfway
through the season in any year of his career in
the NFL. I'm curious to what you're thinking with Michael Pittman,
given that he is one of the main cogs on
your eleventh play his team overall in the FFPC main event,

(18:02):
is he going to be able to continue this production
through the second half of the season.

Speaker 3 (18:08):
I mean selfishly, I hope he does. I've had him,
like you're talking about his rest of his cra' had
him many years. He's one of those guys that I
don't know him Montgomery, some of these other guys, I
just I can't leave him. I gotta, you know, I
keep having them on my team, and he was one
of those. I got him an eighth round, which I
thought was great value at the time. I wasn't expecting this,
and I wasn't expecting Daniel Jones to even be the

(18:29):
quarterback at the time time. But I honestly, I hope
he's a top fifteen. I don't expect him to keep
doing the numbers you've been seeing the last like three
or four weeks, only because game script's gonna change. I mean,
the one game they play Houston, he's gonna see Steamley
probably the Chiefs game. Chiefs have good quarterbacks. They usually

(18:49):
do pretty well against the receivers, but it could be
a scrip high script game where it's gonna be a
lot offense, and then they play Jacksonville twice. So I
just looked at the last next four games so he
could do it. He's getting the red zones targets, but
you have a lot of mouse to feed there. With Warren,
Josh downs out peers to extent, and then I think.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
With that to a certain extent to right, I honestly think.

Speaker 3 (19:12):
That the Sauce Gardener trade. I I when I saw that,
I'm like, dang, I don't want them to be a
defensive team. I want to be high scoring. With the
Forrest Butner going out. It may still be that way now,
but with sauce Gardener there, I think they're tried to
turning him. We'll see more and Danny Dimes and I
call him Indiana Jones. But they're gonna come. They're gonna

(19:33):
they're gonna, I think, come back a little bit to
earth and more of a ground and pound thing and
so and maybe I'm pessimistic and hopefully that doesn't happen,
but I would see them. I could see them start
giving twenty twenty five carriers to Joe or to a
tailor and then and then Pittman maybe does it, but
he's still gonna get his action. He's their number one receiver.
He's a great route runner. So I just hope he's

(19:54):
top fifteen. I don't have him as my Like this week,
I have him in my but usually he's in my
flex so but the way he's been playing, he's not
gonna be my flectionmore. He's gonna be one of my
top receivers. But but yeah, you're right, I'm depending a
lot on him because those are the kind of players
that you need to hit for you to win that
big money and Doug, that's what.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
It comes down to, right like, like Taylor's not gonna
take away Like Taylor's gonna do what he does. But
I think when it comes down to it, you're talking
about Daniel Jones, who I'm not high on this week,
but I am high on for the remainder of the season.
Pittman's competing against a rookie tight end and Tyler Warren
who's been very good but very sporadic as well Josh Downs,

(20:34):
who's been very sporadic, you know, like Alec Pierce, uh
the definition of sporadic. Like, so I think that's what
it comes down to. Michael Pittman right like on this team,
like I could totally see him and and you know,
people bring up the term league winner like in September
in October, I think you can't really bring it up
until December. Is Michael Pittman a league winner? He is

(20:56):
in the category, right, but he is not there yet.
But the fact that that you have him on your
roster and you're eleventh place over all on the main event, Yes,
this is the type of player you wanted your team
going forward. Speaking of the Colts, and you mentioned Downs
and Pittman here, I noticed on this eleventh place overall team,
you also have Rashie Rice And was it Xavier Worthy

(21:18):
on this team as well? Right?

Speaker 3 (21:20):
Yeah? And I actually and I was I also have
Holly I had a Hollywood earlier and I just dropped
him and Downs. I wish Pharrell was here, you know,
he would just you'd probably love me because all the
Pittman talk. Oh yeah, he's the president of the fan club,
right he is?

Speaker 1 (21:37):
And Doug, I mean like, I sent this to my
producer because he always wants a screenshot like or not
a screen shot, but he wants a a uh an
image that we could utilize for YouTube and speaker and
everything where we're putting this podcast out. And I was like,
I should submit Michael Pittman because I knew you and
I were going to have a conversation with Michael Pittman

(21:58):
that I'm like, God, if I admit this for Michael
Pittman on a night when Farrell is in here, Farrell
would never come back to this podcast. So I had
to fix something else.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
So with Downs, I didn't draft Downs. He I saw
him available I think week six in FAB and I
thought he was too good, And especially when I have
Pittman there, I'm like thinking, you know, he'll get he
has a little bit of injury history a little bit.
So I was like, hey, I'm gonna try to bid
on on Downs and get him on my line up
for depth, and I probably overbid. I think I put

(22:31):
three hundred on him and he went for you know.
The next bid was like twenty maybe, and so I
got him, and that's what I had him. But he's
depth right now. There's one league I have him both playing,
to say, which is not ideal, but I have him
both playing because it would bye week stuff and so
not in this event, but in another one I have
him both playing exact same time, which is not optimal.
And you had mentioned earlier Danny Danny Jones is not

(22:52):
Daniel Jones is not a great option this weekend I'm
not sure. These these Berlin games, these overseas games always
got kind of weird and so, but yeah, that's why
I have downs on there. And you kind of went
to the Chiefs as you as you can probably tell,
I'm a big Chiefs fan. Like I said, you know Missouri,
you know, born Missouri, grew up and so when I

(23:14):
went and I kind of talked about earlier about getting
offenses have the potential, and the Chiefs were one of
those teams. And the reason I thought that, you know,
based you know, it wasn't based on what they did
last year the year before, but they have been to
three Super Bowls. Now, I granted that's a lot of
it was because of their defense, but we've also had

(23:35):
wide receivers, you know like mvs and Sky Moore, Mchole
Hardman and Kadarius Tony and just on and on on.
He hasn't had in my in my view, and what
I under you know, on paper, the receiving court. Not again,
this is when I was before the season, when you're
looking at it on paper, they haven't had a receiving

(23:56):
crew like this. And I think in his career, you know,
back when he had Tyreek Tyreek was obviously the number one.
He was the best. You know, he's better than any
of these guys. But their number two, even back then
was Watkins. Sammy Watkins. I would say he's probably the
best number two he's had, but he had Pringle and
de Marcus Robinson, so he hasn't had and he had
a Kelsey who was like five six years younger, so

(24:18):
it's a little bit different there. But when you have
you know, Rice Worthy, Hollywood Brown, this is what it
was all supposed to be the beginning last year and
everything kind of fell apart. Hollywood got hurt in preseason.
Rice got hurt Game five. Worthy was a rookie. He
never really and he never really plays his rookies unless
he really has to, and he had to with Worthy,
and he didn't really start doing anything until the end

(24:39):
of last year. But Juju when they won a Super
Bowlu's Eagles, Juju was arguably their number one receiver. He's
number four or five on this team. So that was
my thought process going in. I drafted this main event
team after Rice got suspended, So going through my draft board,
I went into it wanting to get Mahomes. I saw
his ADP like seventh eighth round more normally, and I

(25:03):
was kind of like, I mean, a couple of years ago,
before all this downturn, he was getting picked up there
with Josh Allen, he was getting picked up with the
little more. I didn't. I just I just felt that
getting him if I could get him at seventh round.
So when I go into this these drafts, I was
just taking a chance that he would last that long.

(25:23):
And so in this one specifically, I went worthy fourth
round because he was gonna be their number one for
the first six weeks. Now, I wasn't you know, what's
the thing. He's gonna get hurt the first series of
the year and be out. I mean literally, I thought
my season was sunk then because I thought he was
gone for the year. The fact that he's come back,
I still don't think he's really healthy and he's been
in a disappointment. But then you have I had a
chance at the sixth pick. I almost picked Mahomes At

(25:45):
the sixth pick. Rice was there, and I was like,
he's gonna before I knew he was gonna get suspended
this year. Just didn't know if it was gonna be
middle of year. But he's gonna be their number one.
He was in and it's proved to be the point
he's gonna run number one. So I got him sixth,
and then I got Mahomes on the seventh. So and
then I picked Hollywood in the thirteenth and that free
look saved me because Hollywood went for ten catches in

(26:06):
one hundred yards that first game and where they got hurt.
So I was able to put him in and won
that week primarily because of Hollywood Brown, who was a
thirteenth round pick. So thank you for doing the free look.
By the way, that's where my kind of chief fandom.
You know, there is a lot of Homerism in that,
but there I also think Mahomes, you know, if he's on,
he has an The other part of it, too, is

(26:28):
the Bills game kind of gave me a little bit,
you know, worry going forward. But if he has lineman
that can you know, we'll keep him up right. He's
going to find receivers. He's proved that over time.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
All right, So a few things here. I want to
bring up. Number one in regards to you having the
top two receivers on Kansas City and the top two
receivers in Indianapolis, on this same team, this eleventh place
overall team. The way you explained it, I don't know, Doug,
kind of seems like dumb luck.

Speaker 3 (26:56):
Right.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
You did not focus on either of these positions to
try to ascertain like the top two receivers on Kansas
City the top two receivers on Indianapolis. It just kind
of worked out that way, right.

Speaker 3 (27:09):
Yeah, Yeah, I mean for the most part, I mean
I kind of knew Rice and Worthy was gonna be.
I thought Worthy be more, you know, giving me more production.
Is he hasn't really given me. Hell, he hasn't really
helped me that much. Anything's hurt me. I've lost the
last couple of weeks because he's not done very well.
But but yeah, that was kind of my thinking going
It doesn't always work, and it may not work going forward.
You know, can't say it looks like they did against Buffalo.

(27:30):
I'm not going to be eleventh very long. And I
had to scramble this weekend because they're all on by So.

Speaker 1 (27:38):
We have a question on YouTube right now. Our good
friend Racy Piping in t MAC might be out this
week tes Johnson or Malik Washington. Now, the latest we
have on t MAC aka Tetoroa McMillan is that he did.
He it was, and correct me if I'm wrong on this.

(28:01):
I think it was a midweek downgrade on Tetron McMillan.
He had a hamstring injury that caused him to pop
up on Carolina's Friday injury report. He is questionable against
the New Orleans Saints this week. Dave Newton, who covers
the Carolina Panthers, wrote after practice today, Dave Canalis quote

(28:22):
told the reporters there is concern after the injury popped
up today and obviously we hate these midweek, late week
injury additions to the injury report, and certainly Teto McMillan,
if he is out, this is going to cause shock
waves not only throughout the Carolina Panthers offense, maybe the
New Orleans defense as well. Okay, so Racy wants to

(28:46):
know McMillan might be out this week. If McMillan is out,
should Ray be starting Tes Johnson against the New England
Patriots or should Ray be going against our Should Ray
be dealing being been in business with Malik Washington who
was at home against the Bills for Miami.

Speaker 3 (29:08):
Yeah, like you said, having a midweek injury is never
a good sign, you know. You know, I highly doubt
I would think he And I'm in Tucson and that's
where he went to Arizona. So I'm a big fan
of tam Mac. I mean, it's just he's he was
a stud here and hate to see him get hurt,
I would say, And this might be a little teaser
for l A. I like Milik Washington. I think the

(29:28):
game script on I mean game script on both are
going to be there. But I think that Buffalo Miami
game might be high scoring. And and so I do
like Malik Washington a little bit better than Tees, but
I wouldn't say significantly amount. I mean I hope I
I'd have someone else to be able put in there,
but during my weeks you may not so. But yeah,
I actually like Malak Washington. I you know, was you know,

(29:51):
he's one of my surprise guys that I think was
gonna have a pretty good week.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
I checked to the razor on stuff like this on
the High Sticks Fantasy Football Hour, I'm not gonna disagree
with our guests because our guest has gotten himself up
into eleventh place overall in the FFPC made event. So
I am not gonna go out and say you are wrong.
This is the way I would know. I'm not gonna

(30:16):
do that. But I will say this in regards in
regards to these two, what Racy is bringing up tonight
forty eight and a half total on that Patriots Buccaneers game. Granted,
Tampa is a two and a half point favorite, so
it might be a negative game script for Tess Johnson.

(30:39):
You asked me Saturday morning, I might say, no, I'm
not gonna play Test Johnson. I'm gonna play Milik Washington
right now. I lean towards Tes Johnson over Washington. I
could be wrong on this, and by and large, if
history's any guide here, Doug, you are normally in the
right here, like the guest is normally the guy who

(30:59):
is making the correct call on this. So I will say,
by and large, I think you're going to be right.
But if you're asking me in a vacuum like Tess
Johnson a little.

Speaker 3 (31:08):
Bit, it's a tough call. I mean, it's a really
tough call. And the two factor is a big thing.
I'd rather have Mayfield thrown to me than to Earth
than to us. So it was just a you know,
spur of the moment. You ask me that question right now,
but I might have the same I might have a
different answer Sunday if I researched it and kind of went,
you know.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
That that's the thing. We're doing the show on Friday night,
right Things can change, Like Saturday morning, we could have
a different answer Saturday afternoon, Saturday night, Sunday morning, we
could have a different answer when it comes to this
as well. Because it is that razor close right now.
I want to bring this up. You know you're living
in Arizona, You're a Chiefs fan. Do you feel like

(31:48):
your fandom dictated the fact that you went so heavy
on guys like Mahomes, Marquise Brown, Rashi Rise, Travis Kelsey,
all these Chiefs. Do you think that that was more
of like a fan them thing or did you feel
like because you were a Chiefs fan, you knew about
this offense, you knew about the schedule, you knew about

(32:08):
what was gonna happen in twenty twenty five, and you're like,
you know, I got to load up on these Chiefs
this year. This is always something I would like to
bring up because obviously, if you're a fan of a
team and they're they're gonna score points. You're gonna be
drafting a bunch of them. You drafted a bunch of them.
Was it just as simply as like, Hey, I love Mahomes,
I love the Chiefs. They're gonna do numbers this year.

(32:29):
I'm gonna load up on them. Or was this a
more nuanced decision for you, Doug?

Speaker 3 (32:35):
It was a little bit of both. I mean, the Homer,
like I had mentioned earlier, the homersm does kind of
factor into it. But you know, I've listened. I listened
to a lot of pot you know, during the offseason,
looking listening to a lot of podcasts, So I'm actually
spent a lot of time listening to Chiefs podcasts more
than other teams. So that was part of it. Is
I got more information that I felt was valid, and
a lot of stuff is a bunch of fluff. But

(32:57):
I just felt Mahomes was gonna have one of those
those years, and I actually thought it was gonna be
a better year than it is. But like I think,
if Worthy doesn't get hurt that first game, I think
it's a whole different I mean, I think they probably
have lost some games, but I think their offense is
clicking more than we're seeing right now. I think we
had a couple of games in the past that we're
showing what I think is gonna be. After the bye,

(33:19):
I think we're gonna see and I'm hoping we'll see
some more fireworks. But yeah, I mean I Rice. I
saw enough of Rice last year that I think he
was a number one receiver and I'm getting him in
the sixth round. That value I'm not going to pass
on that. Hollywood was just basically he served his years.
He's off my team now, so I'm really only and
I had no interest in any of the running backs.

(33:39):
I didn't draft. I don't think I drafted the Chico anywhere.
I do have Hunt that got like real late and
he's kind of worked out. He's getting goal line touches
and but yeah, the main thing was I wanted I
wanted Mahomes, and then if I could get the other parts, great,
But I wanted Mahomes.

Speaker 1 (33:55):
And it's certainly paid out, uh so far this year.
As far as the pass catchers and the other ancillary
guys that you had mentioned, there was there one guy
that you liked better than the others, or it didn't
make a difference. You just wanted.

Speaker 3 (34:10):
I wanted Rice, you know, I was ecstatic. Now I
will say this, I did my other main event before
he got suspended, and he was going like third or
fourth round. I didn't want him in the third orourth
rond because I knew he was gonna get suspended. I
don't want to waste a third rounder in my mind
for a guy that you know is gonna be gone
six games, you know, and it's never a guarantee im'd
lose a guy injury. But I knew that he was

(34:30):
going to get suspended for a certain probably you know,
the rumor was six to ten games, so I was
worried about that. But once he did get suspended six games,
and then seeing him come around in the sixth round,
it was no doubt or for me compared to what
was on the board at that point. And I can't
remember exactly who was on the board, but I actually
did look yesterday and I'm glad I made that call,
and I think he's going to pay off for me.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
I got.

Speaker 3 (34:53):
I'm in love with the place. I've only only got
two games from Rashid Rice. True, I'm hoping.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
How exciting are or how excited is that for you?
You know, like knowing that you were this close to
the top of the leader board and one of your
main cogs on this team really has only played two
weeks for you. I mean that's I only bring this
up because I play in Farrell's Kentucky Fantasy Football State
Championship and one of the leagues, or one of the

(35:18):
teams that I have on that is it's moved up
to top forty. I don't think we're in the top thirty,
but Rashie Rice is on that team with the guy,
my buddy Jim, who I co own that team with,
and we're very excited about this team knowing what Rice
is capable of, knowing what the Chiefs offense is capable of,
and if you have him on your team. I don't

(35:39):
want to say it's a cheat code, but god, it's
so much fun looking at those scores every week knowing
that you have Rice on that team.

Speaker 3 (35:46):
Dude, well, and I have JSN and Jason's.

Speaker 1 (35:51):
It's not let's shut it down now. This is insane.

Speaker 3 (35:54):
I mean, Pittman, Like I said, JSN, Pittman, Rice, and
then Forthy. You know, I'll have a hard time taking
worthy out. He's gonna have one of these breakout games,
and I have him and Wandell Robinson always have to
kind of think about who I'm going to do. I
want that ceiling and I think you have a bigger
ceiling with Word. I'm gonna have that good floor with
one Deell, but that ceiling with Worthy. He could come

(36:15):
out with two touchdown, hundred and fifty yard game any
game he hasn't yet, and I'm starting to get a
little worried about it. But you know, again, that might
be my homerism a little bit, and maybe everybody else said,
you know, you gotta play Wandell and get those consistent
ten to thirteen points, right, But I kind of think
a little bit differently, especially when it gets to week
fifteen seventeen. If I'm still in it, I'm probably gonna

(36:35):
put Worthy in there now, God willing, there's no other
injuries or anything like that where I have to.

Speaker 1 (36:40):
You know.

Speaker 3 (36:40):
But but yeah, I love Rice and to get him
in a six round and he's there, He Mahmes loves him.
And how many targets you have against Raiders You only
had like thirty snaps and then he had like fifteen
targets or something like that. So it's it's not gonna
get worse. It's gonna, if anything's gonna get better.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
We got Tommy Island chumming in right now. Tommy Harron,
who I think is like fourth or fifth overall in
the FFPC, big guerrilla right now, he says. Rashie Rice
and the Jackson Smith and Jigba combo is a league
winning combo. He says, winging, winning and winking. So I
get it, like, listen, typos happen.

Speaker 3 (37:17):
We ten it looks good. I hope it works good
in fifteen seven, with fifteen through seventeen.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
Yeah, exactly, you know you We we bring up Smith
and Jigba. Cooper Cup is on that team. Cooper Cup
was a big signing by Seattle in the offseason. The
Seahawks very excited to get a Cup a board. They
still did draft Tory Horton, and now they have traded
a fourth and a fifth round pick to the New
Orleans Saints to get Rashid Shahed aboard. Listen, I don't

(37:46):
want to put words in your mouth. I don't know
what your plans are for Sunday, and quite frankly, I
haven't looked at your team, Doug, since Wednesday night the
waivers went off, Why is Cooper Cup or why is
not Cooper Cup worth around on your f FPC roster
after Shahed moves from New Orleans to Seattle.

Speaker 3 (38:07):
I'm not sure he is. You know, he's gonna be
depth of anything. I don't have a lot of Cup
I with Shaheed going on there, it's gonna be two
receiver sets with JSN. I actually was thinking about how
this would affect JSN. It's gonna take a lot of
double coverage away. I mean, I think she's gonna get
a lot get targets that maybe just JSN would get normally.

(38:28):
But I also think it's gonna take the double coverage
away that was gonna come with Jason because they didn't
have a lot of people there. To be honest with you,
I think Cup I would rather have Tory hor I
know Tory Horton's pretty doubtful this weekend and Cup's questionable too,
But going forward, I would rather have Tory Holton or
Tory Horton more than Cup because I just I think
they're gonna keep Horton in there. I think his big,

(38:48):
big playability. But I also think they're gonna do two
wide receiver sets and you're gonna see you know, them
lean a little bit more. Again, we were talking about
Danny Daniel Jones. I think Sam Darnold may come back
there a little bit. Hopefully doesn't, but I think he might.
And they're gonna depend on those two running backs, just
like we were talking about Taylor in Indianapolis. So I
think you're gonna see a lot of two receiver sets

(39:09):
and then you're gonna see Scharbonnay and Walker. You know,
there's gonna do some pound, you know, pounding the ball
there too. So I don't I don't feel I don't
think people should be excited about keeping Cooper Cup the
rest of the year. I mean, if you have another alternative,
I think I think he could be placed on waivers.
I mean, he's been questionable anyway, so I don't know.

(39:30):
You know, it wasn't a hamstring, I don't know. But
I'm not real pumped about Cooper Cup, you know.

Speaker 1 (39:35):
And and another reason to not be pumped up about
Cooper Cup as you know, he's dealing with uh an
injury right now. And this is less than a week
after the Seahawks trade for Rashid Shiheid from the Saints.
The latest we got this uh On the show tonight,

(39:57):
Mike Duger is reporting that Cooper Cup is officially questionable
to play against the Cardinals in Week ten. He's dealing
with a heel injury. He's also dealing with a hamstring injury. Now,
he did get a full practice in today and it
was limited for him on Wednesday, limited for him on Thursday.
And I think this, you know, sign's pointing up for

(40:19):
Cupp that he's going to play. But Doug, to your point,
if he's active, God, I still really don't want to
be in the business with Cooper Cup in week ten.
And quite frankly, this could be a slow burn where
we see Rashid Shaheed out there more and more, we
see Tory Horton out there more and more. JJ zech Reason.

(40:40):
I think it was JJ zech Reason that talked about
this over the course of the last two days. The
Seattle Seahawks are one of the last teams in the
NFL to run plays with three wide receivers out there.
In other words, if you're talking about you believe in

(41:01):
three of these receivers for Seattle, whether that's you know,
Smith and Jigba Cup and Horton Smith and Jigba Horton
and Shaheed Smith and Jigba Shaheed and cut well whatever
it is. They rarely run three wide receiver sets. Now
maybe that could change now with the Shiheed trade, but
so far hasn't happened. And I think you need to,

(41:21):
you know, quote unquote, go with God on what you're
doing with Seattle receivers that are not named Jackson, Smith
and Jigba going forward. Okay, James Cook, let's talk about
him here, Doug. I believe, and I have to look
this up right now, I believe he is going to
be good to go this week for the Bills. He is.

Speaker 3 (41:45):
Yep, they said he's good to go.

Speaker 1 (41:47):
Okay, I saw so so perfect. So now we know
for week ten you want to play, be playing Cook. However,
he is dealing with an injury. They're dependent upon what
happens in week ten. There's a non zero chance that
he may not be available in week eleven. This is
something I know a lot of FFPC players are weighing
against right now. If Cook misses, what do you do?

(42:12):
And if Cook is not available to play, who's the
running back? You want? A roster Is it Ty Johnson?
Is it Ray Davis. Johnson's been getting a lot of
the action. However, if we know going into a week
that Cook is not gonna play, I gotta believe Buffalo
is gonna be trotting Ray Davis out there. This is

(42:33):
something that we need to break down here because a
lot of people, if they have Cook, or even if
they don't have Cook, they may not have the roster
spot to roster both Davis and Johnson. What would you
be doing right now in FFPC leagues as far as
the Buffalo backup running back who is one gene injury

(42:53):
away from having a significant role for the Bills.

Speaker 3 (42:57):
Yeah, I drafted Davis in this this in his team,
and I got impatient. I've dropped them. I kind of
wish I would have kept them. Now I do have
him in other leagues where I'm handcuffing handcuffing Cook. I
kind of keep pointing back to last year when Cook
got I think Cook missed one or two games, and
there was one game and I was playing against a
guy who had Davis in, and I think he went

(43:17):
for twenty carries and a hundred yards. If they're gonna
give the same amount of work to one of the
running backs. I think it's gonna be Davis because he's
not the third down back.

Speaker 1 (43:27):
Now.

Speaker 3 (43:27):
It also depends on game script. So if they're playing
a game where you know the run game is going
to be prevalent, then I think I would want Davis.
But if you're playing a team you know it's going
to be a shootout and there's not gonna be much
running in it, you know you kind of have to predict.
But I think you would have to look at the games.
But just speaking on Friday night, and if it was

(43:48):
if he was out front on for this Sunday, I
would rather have Davis. And I proved that because I've
kind of handcuffed him Cook with Davis in some of
my other leagues.

Speaker 1 (43:58):
If you did not have have James Cook in any
of these leagues that we're talking about, Doug, and you
had an open roster spot, right, there is no other
better place or no other better way to utilize that
empty roster spot. Ray Davis is a free agent in
that league. Ty Johnson is a free agent in that league.

(44:20):
All those things considered, would you be picking up Ray
Davis over Ty Johnson?

Speaker 3 (44:25):
I probably would.

Speaker 1 (44:26):
Yes, I want to get into Garrett Wilson. This is
affecting me in a couple of leagues in the KFFFC
that faral runs. Obviously, Garrett Wilson has not played in
the last couple of weeks. He says he's going to
be good to go on Sunday, which is great if
you have Garrett Wilson on your team. However, his first

(44:47):
game back is at home against the Cleveland Browns, which
has been a pretty tough defense. We believe that Justin
Fields is going to be the starting quarterback in this game.
We don't know officially. We just think that when you
consider everything going on in your high stakes leagues in
the FFPC right now, if you did own Garrett Wilson,

(45:08):
do you have to find a way to get him
in your starting lineup or are you not breaking your
back to try to get him deployed in your in
your starting lineups in Week ten?

Speaker 3 (45:21):
I think you're you made some valid points. Normally, I
I kind of shy away from people coming back from injury,
and when you especially have the quarterback situation there and
the fact that you, like you said, they're playing the Browns,
who's really strong. Wilson's not one of my top plays.
I know he's kind of up there ranked, and I
think it's more of name and he's going to get

(45:41):
the target share. But I honestly would go somewhere like Jamison,
Williams Shakur, who guys are lower rated but have more
upside in the games script that they're going to be in.
I I honestly, I have Wilson one of my leagues
I have to play because I don't. I really have
no better al termamis. But if you have other you know,
if you have a guy who, like I just mentioned,
down a little bit lower, I would play them. I

(46:03):
have no problem playing them as I'm not real confident.
And Wilson won, he has an injury and it could
be two plays, and the whole Jet situation is kind
of odd right now with everything going on, So yeah,
the only good thing is he would get the targets.
You probably get twenty targets, but we've seen him get
that many targets, and Justin Phillis can't hit him. And
I don't even know who's starting, if it's gonna be
Tyrod or Justin because they're both.

Speaker 1 (46:24):
We don't know. We don't know. I think it's gonna
be Fields. But but you're right, we don't know on that.

Speaker 3 (46:28):
If they were playing the Bengals, I would definitely have
him in, But playing the Browns, I don't. I just
kind of I just avoid it if I can.

Speaker 1 (46:38):
I think that it's tempting to have him in. I
own him in one league across you know, seven dozen
or whatever teams I have this year, and it's a
dynasty league, and I am playing him because I don't
have another good option. But I feel awful about it,
Like I don't feel great about starting Garrett Wilson this week,
and I don't think anybody should. Now.

Speaker 3 (47:00):
That goes back to my point that I talked about
earlier is when I was doing these main event drafts, especially,
I didn't want to draft guys from the Jets the Browns,
and I don't have him any of my main events.
And this is pretty much the reason why, you know,
I tried to get teams that I know we're gonna
have powerful offenses. I know they thought maybe Fields would
have a huge year, but I wasn't one of those.

(47:21):
So I like Wilson's receiver. I wish the Chiefs would
have traded for him in the offseason, but you know,
he's kind of a prisoner in my.

Speaker 1 (47:30):
Mind, Doug, can you imagine a team in Kansas City
that would have traded for Garrett Wilson in the offseason
to have him aboard, and then at the trade deadline
traded for Brieft Hall from the Jets. The Jets would
be set up well for the next half decade. And
maybe this would be bad for people who are fans

(47:51):
of the NFL, but Kansas City would be loaded for bear.
You know, whoever is coming at him in the AFC,
who's ever coming at him out of the NFC in
the Super Bowl. It would have been a lot of
fun for fantasy wise. But if you're sick of the
Chiefs winning, that would have happened a lot if.

Speaker 3 (48:06):
Briest Hall and the Chiefs would have I was kind
of hoping that was going to happen. I think that
would have helped my Mahomes. I think it would have
helped the offense just having a running back there, even
if he would have got more carries, and he doesn't
like to run the ball anyways, but Brice Hall would
have helped Chiefs greatly. And I actually picked up when
Braylen Allen got hurt. I picked up Isaiah Davis in
a lot of places, and I was thinking that Hal
was going to get traded my other main event league

(48:29):
I did. I have Isaiah Davis hoping he Breestall would
get traded, and I just don't get the Jets thinking
they're not. They traded there are two other guys out
of the blue, but they don't trade a guy that
have no control of after the years, it makes.

Speaker 1 (48:41):
Listen, after they traded Quinnin Williams, after they traded Sauce Gardner,
I thought it was a four gron conclusion at that
point that Breese Hall was not I mean not necessarily
that he was going to be a chief, but that
he wouldn't be on the Jets. And they kept him,
which is boggles my mind, given the state that franchise
and given the state of his kind track. But listen,

(49:01):
they know more than me, So I leave it at that,
all right, I want to bring up this insane I'll
bring this up right now, and nobody cares about me,
but I'm gonna bring it up right now. I was
at the Packers Panthers game Doug at Lambeufield. I live
in Northeast Wisconsin. I went to that game a season

(49:21):
ticket holder. It was great until it wasn't. And then
Carolina went the game. I went to a brewery after
the game, within walking distance a Lambeoufield, and I was
sitting there. I was I placed my order, I was
waiting for my beer, and the place erupted, erupted, and
I was like, what is going on? I looked at

(49:42):
the screen and Coaston Lovelin was busting this mind bending
play to win the game for the Bears over the Bengals,
and I didn't realize that it was forty seven forty two.
Like it was an insane offensive performance from both teams.
You know, you look at Cincinnati with t Higgins seven
for a buck twenty one and two touchdowns, Jamar Chase

(50:04):
went over one hundred and eleven yards, Chase Brown had
eight catches for seventy five yards. You look at the
Bear's side of it, Colston Lovelin six for one to
eighteen and two touchdowns. For God's sake, DJ Moore threw
a touchdown in this game. Caleb Williams threw for the
better part of three hundred yards and three touchdowns as well,
and then I perused this box score a little bit

(50:24):
more closely. Roma Doonsday three targets zero point zero catches, fat, drunken,
stupid is no way to go through life, son, and
he dropped two of his targets as well.

Speaker 3 (50:37):
Touchdown had won in an end zone, two and.

Speaker 1 (50:40):
One was in the end zone. You're right in a
game where the Bears lose our begg your pardon, in
the game where the Bears win forty seven to forty two,
and Roma Dunesday puts up a blanking bagel. Is this
a sign of things to come? Or are you washing
your hands at it saying bulky, it's a one off.

(51:01):
This is not gonna happen again. I'm a little confused
on how I should feel about Roma Dunday when I'm
submitting my lineups for week ten. How do you feel
about it?

Speaker 3 (51:11):
Yeah? I had the same feeling a week earlier with
Jake Ferguson a zero.

Speaker 1 (51:15):
Oh yeah yeah.

Speaker 3 (51:16):
But I think of Donsay the whole Kale factor is
I I do have a Donsday a couple places, and
I love him. I don't I think this was a
one off. I think, you know, I think he's gonna
get his targets. I think call I think this week,
especially because it's another game similar to that kind of
game script. The Giants don't have much of a d
so this could be a game where I see him

(51:36):
go for eight catches, one hundred and forty yards and
a touchdown. I I like Roman donsay. I think he's
gonna be I don't think that's a I think that's
a one off. I mean, you have those every once
in a while, but I think he's gonna be pretty
solid the rest of the period. The other thing, too,
is is dad popped off. I don't know if you
saw that, but his dad and don't they say with

(51:57):
a squeaky will whatever what I say, I guess something, Yeah,
so I could just I don't know what it is
about the like killed Williams dad a couple of years ago,
popped off, and now we have a dunsay dad pop off.
So I think I think they would probably work on
if he was playing the Browns. I may not think
he's gonna have a good weekend, but I think the
Giants this game set up for another shootout, and I honestly,

(52:21):
if they scored another forty points and he has I
might be wrong. I just don't think he's gonna I
think he'll have ten points at least, and I would
hope you'd have more than that. I hope he'd be
like eight catches in a touchdown somewhere. Because I thought
he got hurt. I literally when I saw the box scores,
I wasn't watching the game. I was, you know, watching
parts of it. I thought he got hurt or something.
It's like what happened. But yeah, I think that was

(52:43):
a one off in my opinion, at least, you.

Speaker 1 (52:46):
Know, in regards to it with Duneza in in this
game against Cincinnati, he had been battling both ankle and
heel injuries, and he was battling it this week as well.
He's not on the final injury or so he's gonna
be good to go against the Giants this week. If
you look back at everything the Bengals defense has accomplished

(53:07):
this year, it's been very little, right, but one of
the shining players that we've seen on this team has
been DJ Turner, who is the number one corner for Cincinnati,
and he was on Roma Dunse a lot this game,
and he has been on other number one receivers a
lot when the Bengals have gone up against him. So

(53:27):
I think that if you look by and large the
number one receivers that have gone against the Bengals this year,
it's been kind of clunkers for them, and Donza is
no stranger to that. So I am willing to give
him a pass. I only own him in two leagues
this year, and I'm going to be playing him wholeheartedly

(53:48):
in both leagues in Week ten this year for sure. Okay,
I want to get into Tom Smith's question on YouTube.
I threw it up on the screen here right now
for us, Doug, would you play Jerry Judy over Garrett
Wilson this week? Now, I'll say this right now, so

(54:11):
you don't want to play either one, you know, staying
away from both of them.

Speaker 3 (54:15):
Yeah, I in that case, I probably play Wilson.

Speaker 1 (54:19):
I would do. I am of the opinion, and you know,
I don't know how you feel about this, but Garrett,
I beg your pardon. Jerry Judy was a player that
absolutely crushed after his trade last season, and I don't
have a good explanation for why he has sucked so

(54:40):
much this year. Is it quarterback, is it offense? Is
it opposing or not opposing it is it the cast
around him. I don't know, but I am and maybe
this is unfair and maybe I shouldn't be doing this, Doug.
But going forward, I'm going to be very wary of
not drafting players like Jerry Judy who make this transition

(55:03):
or all of a sudden just take off the second
half of the season where I'm drafting him in round six,
round seven, round eight the following year. I don't have
a good explanation on why this guy has stunk this year,
but I do know, maybe subconsciously, maybe wrongly, I'm going
to be penalizing players like him in twenty twenty six

(55:23):
drafts where I will not be drafted players like Jerry Judy.

Speaker 3 (55:26):
Your thoughts, I agree. I'm said I didn't draft Judy anywhere,
and again it's come down to I just didn't like
a quarterback situation. I mean, they trade their best quarterback
to the Bengals. But yeah, I just I know Judy
went off last year. I just didn't. I didn't believe it,
you know, And I didn't draft him anywhere, you know,
And it could have came back a hat me. I've

(55:46):
caught other receivers that were that have been just as bad,
and I drafted them all over the place. But I
just I'm not a big fan of Judy. I probably
never will be. I just you know, he's especially in
that offense. If you put him in a better offense, maybe,
but in that offense, now, I'm not only once I'd
be interested there the tight ends in Judkins obviously, but.

Speaker 1 (56:06):
Yeah, well let's talk about this real quick. The latest
we've re received on Harold fannin the game status as
this came out eight hours ago. Mary kay Cabot for
the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported this that Harold Fannon is
listed as questionable for the game against the Jets this week. Now,

(56:30):
this game is going to go off at one pm
Eastern time. I believe I should check on this just
to make sure before I'm leading people astray on this.
It is a one pm kickoff. When you look at
fannin if he misses this game, does David and Joku
become a must start in FFPC tight end premium leagues?

(56:53):
Or are you more on Jerry Judy? Are you more
on Isaiah Bond? Are you moron? I don't know if
Cedric Tillman.

Speaker 3 (57:01):
Is going to be activated in time for this Tilman's
back bonds out.

Speaker 1 (57:04):
Okay, so there you go. So so, knowing what we
know about Fan and and I haven't seen the practice
report today, but knowing what we know about him leading
up to this, who's the Cleveland pass catcher that we
need to start in week ten?

Speaker 3 (57:19):
Yeah? I think if fans out, I'm not looking at
the re series, I'm looking at the Joku because I
still Gillan Graberril has been throwing more of the tight ends.
I mean Fan as a joke, but they both have
been getting action. And if you take one amount, especially
in a tight end premium, the one you know, one
point five per he's at least a flex for me.
And depending on who your other tight ends, he may
be your tight end, you know. So I like Fan too.

(57:41):
If they both I mean even if they both played,
I would almost I could. I would could consider n
Djoku So and Fan.

Speaker 1 (57:49):
I think you're right, and and I think that the
other thing that we have to consider here and when
we when we talk about the Browns is somebody has
to move this football down the field. Yes, quin Shawn
Judkins is probably gonna play a big role in it,
but he can't play the entire role. And if he
doesn't play the entire role, we have to look at

(58:09):
some of these other players, and I think in Djoku
is at the top of my list. If if Harold
Fannon does not play hamstring injury, I should look it
up right now. But I know he did not practice yesterday.
I don't think he practiced today. But if and what
did you say, Doug that he is out officially? Who
uh fanon Harold Fannin's out official?

Speaker 3 (58:30):
I think he's questionable. I think I haven't heard anything else.
I actually thought a Joku was going to get traded
your team.

Speaker 1 (58:37):
After a no. They would never do that, and I'm
going to tell you why they would never do that.
Green Bay operates the same way as every sports team
in Wisconsin operates. Where it is we will, we will
ask questions. You know, there's a lot of like Darry
Jones right, shoot first, ask questions later. Like it is

(58:58):
the opposite for the Brewers, the Packers, the Badgers, everybody
in Wisconsin. They will ask a zillion questions and then fire.
So there was no question to me that Green Bay
was not making any moves. If there was any move
that the Packers are going to make it the deadline,
it was going to be that they would trade a
player in order to acquire draft picks going forward, especially

(59:19):
when you consider that they traded the two first rounders
the Dallas for Micah Parsons. I never really thought that
they were giving up any kind of draft capital to
get a tight end or pass catcher or whatever. And
I'll say this, and I should ask you about this, Doug.
I think part of the reason, a huge part of
the reason that Green Bay would not do that. I

(59:40):
really think they like Luke Musgrave quite a bit. I
think that they believe that the lack of Tucker Craft
in this offense is going to be stemmed quite a bit,
not totally, but stemmed quite a bit by Luke Musgrave
coming into this offense. Now, I'm not here to tell
you that the Packers believe that Musgrave is on the

(01:00:02):
same level as Craft. I don't think anybody could say
that at this point. But I do know that this
is a team that was very high on Musgrave at
the point when they drafted him in the second round
three years ago, as opposed to Tucker Craft in that
same draft, who they drafted in the third in the
third round. And when you look at Musgrave, I think

(01:00:25):
there is a lot to like about him. My big
and I'll put this out there right now, my big
question on Luke Musgrave as far as the Packers go,
fantasy goes, whatever, it's not. Can he put up big
numbers for Green Bay? I know he can't one hundred percent.
I know he can. The question for me, and it
has always been this question for Musgrave can he stay

(01:00:48):
on the field. Because if he stays on the field,
he's going to be very very good. If he can't
stay on the field, well, you know whatever. As Paul
Gimonni would say in the Hangover Part two, that's Bangkok
Bangkok now. And and I don't believe that that's uh
gonna be playing a role. Uh. I don't believe he'll
play a role obviously in this team. Uh if he

(01:01:09):
can't stay on the field. But if he is healthy.
I really like Luke Musgrave here, Doug.

Speaker 3 (01:01:14):
Oh, he was going higher and drafts his rookie year.
I mean I picked him, you know a lot, and
I loved him. I actually tried to get him this
week in fab you just got I got a bid.
But when he like you said, you got drafted ahead
of Craft into the same draft, and then in the
fantasy drafts he was getting picked, so he was pally popular.
And like you said, the injuries kind of degrailed him
a little bit. But yeah, he's always produced when he's

(01:01:37):
been there. I like him. That's why, you know, I
thought maybe they'd get into Jokub, but I know Musgrave
is Here's not nothing to sneeze about.

Speaker 1 (01:01:44):
You know, I and and and at least when when
they tested athletically, uh, in that twenty twenty three draft
or whatever it was, Musgrave tested better athletically than Tucker Kraft.
And it's weird because you know, you like watch the
Packers play on National TV or whatever, and Tucker Kraft
will get tackled and he does the Shawn Michaels ww

(01:02:06):
kip up, and it's like, how is this guy not
as athletic as Luke Muskrave? You know, like it makes
no sense because this guy looks unbelievable, but it is
what it is. Okay, final question for you tonight, my friend,
I have to ask you here if there is a player,
a well respected player, a player that is going to

(01:02:27):
be started in a lot of FFPC League's FFPC main event,
Big Grilla, what have you. If there's a player that's
going to be started in a lot of leagues done
that you think should not be started, that should be
on benches this week, who would that be? And then conversely,
a player that you think a lot of FFPC players
are going to keep on the bench for Week ten,

(01:02:47):
that they probably should be thinking hard about starting him
this weekend. Who are those two players?

Speaker 3 (01:02:54):
So? Gary Wilson was one we talked about earlier. He'd
be the one, I would say, But since we talked
about him a lot, I want to give you another one,
And again I'm I probably won't. I wouldn't put him
on my bench, but I have a feeling these Berlin games.
I think the games in Berlin always go kind of weird,
and I just have a feeling Sauce Gardner being there
is going to I don't know what they're gonna do,

(01:03:14):
how much he's gonna play, but I could see them saying, okay,
we just want you to guard London and take him
out of the game. So I could see London have
a mediocre game. Three catches forty five fifty yards and
you know, and you know, not get close to where
you would hope he would get. So I'm not saying
you can't start him. I think I would start him.

(01:03:34):
I'm not. I'm not that smart. I wish I could
predict stuff like that. I probably wouldn't need to be
in fancy football. But I just I have a feeling
he's gonna be one of those kind of hard to
go through and say, hey, who do I take out?

Speaker 1 (01:03:46):
Who?

Speaker 3 (01:03:46):
I did not, but he would be one I think
is going to very much underperform and on the other side,
and this may get me a lot of hate meal
And this week I'm having the same problem streaming court.
You know, Ma Homes is on my bench on a
lot and I had Stroud and I so he's not playing,
so I had a I either had Stroud or had
no one. I sometimes I just keep one quarterback because
I you know, I get I'll figure it out whenever

(01:04:06):
get to the bye week. I was looking I picked
Maryote up in a lot of places, but since then
I'm not, I don't I might make some more business weekend.
I actually like Tua. We talked about Milake Washington earlier.
I think that and again he might throw a pick
or two in the first quarter and be on the
bench for Quinn Yewers. But I just have a feeling
that game script is gonna. I know the Buffalo defense

(01:04:30):
shut down in Kansas City, and you know they got
a lot of pressure. But coming off that game, their
defense I don't think so strong, and I think there's
a couple of guys being out, so I think Tua
could have a pre productive game. I also like uh
Schultz for the Houston. You know Bowers went off on
Jacksonville last week. Schultz is going to be dependent on

(01:04:50):
with the backup quarterback there. You could also play him
as a quarterback too. I think I think I'm not
real pressed with Jacksonville's defense Gino Smith. We just saw
what Gino Smith did last night. He torched the Jacksonville
last week. So I think Dalton Schultz is another person
I think, especially in a one and a half point,
you know, PPR league, I think I love Schultz.

Speaker 1 (01:05:11):
We got Tom Smith chiming in with tongue of Baila,
don't do it, Doug with he's saying don't do it.
But I will say to your point that total is
fifty and a half in that Bills Dolphins game and
the Dolphins are nine and a half point underdogs. That
is a massive, massive, we say negative game script, but

(01:05:31):
really it's a positive game script for those people who
are playing Tongue Bi Loo in their starting lineup. So
I totally get that for certain on this. And and
you said I beg your pardon on this. For players
that that you would sit, it was who again.

Speaker 3 (01:05:47):
Well Gary Wilson for sure. Wilson, Yeah, that was that
was one. But I kind of just brought up the
London thing. I don't I'm not gonna shit in London.
I'm not sitting in London. But I think he's going
to underperform. I just have you know. Yeah, Oh, another person,
Vidal Vidal for the Chargers. I think he's I honestly,
he's probably needed to play. But I think the Steelers
figured some things out last week against the Colts. They

(01:06:09):
kind of shut down Taylor. I think the Chargers offensive
line is going through a lot of stuff right now.
So I think you're gonna see a lot of short,
quick passes from Herbert. I don't think v Dal unless
he gets some pass, you know, some catches. I think
Jared Patterson may take some of that. Some of those
share So I'm not big on Vidal this week.

Speaker 1 (01:06:27):
That was what I was going to ask you. Did
you pick up Jared Patterson and any of your leagues
this week?

Speaker 3 (01:06:31):
No? I didn't, but I I seriously thought about it.

Speaker 1 (01:06:34):
Okay, all right, so and I put in for him.
I didn't. I knew I wasn't gonna start him this week,
so I haven't really looked closely if I picked him up,
but I did put in for him in a bunch
of leagues here. And you know the other thing too,
Not that I want to dwell on this here, Doug.

Speaker 3 (01:06:50):
But.

Speaker 1 (01:06:52):
The the the prevailing storyline I've heard from the Chargers
is uh Jim Harbaugh saying that Omari and Hampton is
expected to have his practice window opened up after their
by which I think is in week twelve, which would
put the Hampton having his practice window open up in

(01:07:14):
week thirteen. The thing of it is is you have
three weeks to activate a player after your practice window
is open. So that means, ostensibly, and I'm not saying
that the Chargers would do this, but ostensibly Hampton be
out week thirteen, he'd be out week fourteen, he'd be

(01:07:35):
out week fifteen, and then maybe just maybe he'd come
back for week sixteen. This is a bad situation for
fantasy owners. I don't know if you have Hampton on
any of your leagues, but to me, I think he's
droppable at this point.

Speaker 3 (01:07:50):
Yeah, I didn't draft him. It seem like I never
had the position early, Like I wasn't in that top
of the first round. I was out usually like seven, eight, nine, ten,
and he never made it back to me on the
second round. I'd also want to give you some flowers.
Last week's show, you talked about Manunguy and Swift, and
you've kind of predicted what was gonna happen. And I
think we're gonna see you predicted eventually. You think mcnunguy

(01:08:12):
is gonna be that top running back. I think that's happening.
I think based on what he did last week, I.

Speaker 1 (01:08:18):
Think this Swift the switch has happened.

Speaker 3 (01:08:23):
He's questionable now because of personal reasons. And I'm not
I'm not trying to start gossip here or anything, but
it makes me wonder if maybe he was told, say,
I just Manonguy was impressive and you had predicted that
last week. The other thing that I haven't heard much.
But Ben Johnson was the the uh OC. He started
oc in Detroit in twenty twenty two. They traded Swift

(01:08:44):
to the Eagles in twenty three, so he didn't really
like him in Detroit obviously, and he's not his Guymnunguy
they drafted him. So I I honestly, I have Swift
in my other main event league. I'm kind of worried
about this. I actually thought, you know, the Sauce Gardner
thing was kind of a bout of the blue. I
actually thought he might get traded. I thought that was
I know, they like the two running backs thing, especially

(01:09:04):
Ben Johnson. Yeah, but I had a feeling for some
reason that Swift might get traded, you know, or might
be on the trade block because his value is pretty high.
But I think they really like Manungay and he's proven.
You know, that's you know, if he Swift doesn't play
tonight or this weekend, which he may not, he's you know,
came out questionable for personal reasons today, didn't practice today.

(01:09:26):
Manunga comes out there and does what he did last week.
I think it's gonna be a sixty. You had said
it last week. I believe a sixty to forty split.
Now you might have said sixty on Swift, but I
think you were saying you were laying towards Manongay, and
I think that's what's gonna happen.

Speaker 1 (01:09:40):
The thing is with Manonga for a lot of the
points you just raised, you know, like he was drafted
by Ben Johnson like this, Swift was already traded by
Ben Johnson oc led team right, and now you have
Swift this week. Now, this is coming from the Bears
official X account earlier this afternoon. Swift is, as you

(01:10:02):
pointed out, Doug officially questionable with growing Slash personal issues. Now,
if that's not that, there's a myriad of jokes we
could get into with Swift battling Growing Slash personal issues.
But he was limited in practice, Yes, I beg your
pardon on Wednesday, and then he got in a full
practice on Thursday, and then no practice on Friday. This

(01:10:22):
is like unprecedented. We don't see limited full nothing that
just doesn't happen. So let's just say for the sake
of argument here that Swift he solves this personal issue,
whatever it is, he's ready to go on Sunday against
the Giants. Are both Swift and Manungai startable or at

(01:10:46):
least flexible in FFPC leagues where you're battling where you
can have you know, two positional players, you know, running back, receiver,
tight end at flex Are both these guys artable or
flexible in that sense?

Speaker 3 (01:11:02):
I think so. I mean, Ben Johnson's proved that he
can use to running backs. He used Gibbs and Montgomery.
I'm not comparing those two. But mcnung Guy, I definitely,
I think he's gonna get more of the share, especially
this weekend because especially Swift in practice today. So you know,
I think I think Guy is gonna get most of
the work Sunday, even if Swift's active. But yeah, I
think they're both. I have Swift. I'm not mentioning him.

(01:11:24):
I don't have like I have Isaiah Davis or Swift.
If Swift's if he's active, I'm playing them. So I
just take the chance. You know, he may get five points,
but he also could get a touchdown. You know, I'm
just trying to get touchdowns here out of those running backs.
But I tell you what, I think mcnung Guy's gonna
he's and I I didn't draft him, and I didn't
pick him up when I could have. I I'm kind

(01:11:44):
of kicking myself over that because you know, there was
a lot of stuff about him, but I picked up
rushaw On Johnson. I picked up the wrong one. But
you would you wouldn't be But yeah, he's he looked
now again. It was the Bengals. It's one defense and
like he talk about DJ Turner, the defensive their run
game defense is not they don't have anybody like that.

(01:12:05):
They stop anybody. But but I like Manong guy. This
weekend's the juice if he If Swift doesn't Playong guys
probably top eight or nine running back in my mind, Yeah, you.

Speaker 1 (01:12:15):
Know, I think the thing that we have to keep
in mind he played the Bengals last week. He crushed
it one hundred and ninety eight tot of the yards
and scrimmage, and I get it, it was Cincinnati, but
at the same time, there was no DeAndre Swift. And
I don't care who you're going against. If you don't
have the number one running back or the at least
the one A one B running back in that offense,

(01:12:35):
it's going to be a big week regardless if you're
playing against the Purple People leaders, the Steel curtain. It's
going to happen like like, you've got to get this
guy at least as a flex in your lineup. So
I like manungay this week. If Swift doesn't play for sure, Doug,
I apologize. I am just looking at the clock right now.
I would love to keep talking. We could easily do
three hours tonight, we can't because it is thirteen minutes

(01:12:58):
past the top of the hour. My kids got a
sleepover tonight. I got to put them to bed. But
in the future I would love to have you back on.
We can talk about how you're winning the million bucks
in the FFPC Maine event this year. I'd love to
talk about so much more with you. Until then, we
will have to continue to follow you on x at
d Haynes seventy one. Doug, thank you so much for

(01:13:21):

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
