We all want to be in a healthy prosperous relationship.
Effective boundaries keep your relationship strong and healthy. Nobody has time to live in an unhealthy relationship. Boundaries refer to limits that you put in place to protect your physical, emotional, intellectual, financial, and sexual well-being. When boundaries are clearly communicated, along with the consequences for breaking them, your partner understands your expectations. You can’t set a boundary without a consequence. Boundaries without a consequence is pointless.
There are 5 boundaries to consider implementing in your relationship. In order to establish effective personal boundaries, you have to know yourself, communicate your boundaries to others, and follow through with the consequences. Boundaries are for you and about you. They are about respecting your needs in your relationship. When you are comfortable about something in your relationship, but don’t speak up and share it with your partner, resentment can build.
