(00:22):
Tap in because yourbreakthrough starts now.
What if taking a break is the exactthing that you needed to move forward?
I took five months off of socialmedia and this is what I've learned.
Welcome to The Just Believe Show.
I'm your host Herbie Mack.
Today's episode, I'm gonna break downwhat I've learned about being off the

(00:43):
grid for five months on social media.
So December for me is a very busy month.
I normally have my contentscheduled and everything.
I have anniversaries.
I have.
Birthday parties, holidays, and justbusiness events that I have to attend.
Just being a speaker and doing my thing.

(01:04):
Gotta pay the bills.
So with that, I always try toschedule most of my content for that
month, but I normally scale down, especially around the holidays.
'cause once the holidays happened,I realized people are with their
families or with their loved ones, and.
During that time, thus the moment thatI normally regroup and charge up for

(01:26):
the new year, new me mentality, 'causeJanuary's right around the corner.
So during this time, I actually decidedsince my birthday's happening and
everything, gift to myself is going to thedoctor on the outside, I feel amazing, but
I need to know what's going on the inside.
And after that I received some resultsfrom my doctor and she said, Hey.

(01:48):
Look, I don't know how to tellyou this, but you need to start
taking care of your health better.
And I was just like, what do you mean?
She said, you need tostart exercising most days.
What the hell does that mean most days?
So me being the person that I am,I decided to actually work out.

(02:09):
Five days a week, and Irealized she made a valid point.
Speaking and working and dealing with thefamily dynamics and wearing multiple hats.
I really wasn't taking care of my health.
Yeah, I was eating somewhat healthy, but sometimes when you're on a go,
you don't make the best decisions orsometimes you are not taking care of the

(02:30):
most important thing, and that's you.
That made me realize that.
There's no Herbie Mack ifthere's no healthy Herbie.
So she's right.
The five days a week, that's the goal.
Let's do it.

(02:50):
And in that, not only physically, your boy was outta shape for real.
But mentally I was outta shape.
And I slowly started probablyweek two, week three, I realized
that my physical health was.
Very important, but also mymental health was very important

(03:11):
and I started to get clarity.
But that's only once I started addingthis tool, and that was journaling.
The power of journaling wassomething that I stepped away from.
As you can imagine, when you'rein the social media world, people
that's telling you to post moreor you're not doing enough and
making you comparing yourself, why?

(03:36):
There's only one version ofyou, so why are you comparing
yourself to anybody but you?
And the adrenaline helped me really getthat clarity and not only discovering
the flaws that I was missing or theflaws that I was having, I should say,
it was something that I started gettingso clear on the direction I wanted to

(04:01):
go in and really started channeling.
My purpose of, Hey, what am I doingwith this Herbie Mack brand, right?
Yes.
I'm doing these speakingengagements and yes, I am changing
the world in so many ways.
At least I hope I am when it comes tomental health and suicide prevention,

(04:22):
but there's so much more I can do.
But we have to be strategicand discover that I was doing
things, but I was doing nothing.
And I really had to get mysystem together because I didn't
have a system in journaling.
I discovered I didn't have a system.
Some of the things I was doing wasjust running on a hamster wheel.

(04:44):
We have so many hours in this world.
We have so many hours in the day, huh?
We have so many hours in our lifethat something like this is vital.
In journaling helped me slow down theworld and realize that I needed something
to do, to really be strategic and justbuild a system that works for me, gain

(05:14):
the clarity, discover my purpose, and inthat purpose, not only journaling, helped
me redefine that, but also create some.
I created tools not only justfor me, but for you guys.
And that's how I created the JustBelieve journal for 90 days where you

(05:36):
work out and you redefine who you are.
And the step one is self-reflection.
And then step two is setting goals.
And step three, the mostimportant part is taking actions.
And this journal is not just aregular journal that you write.
I have prompts, I have strategies that.
Not only helped me, but can really helpyou be the best version of yourself.

(05:59):
So we're gonna segue into thenext part of what I discovered
during this five months off.
It's actually about four monthsand 20 something days to be exact,
but we're just gonna route to five.
Why?
Why not?
It's easier.
It rolls off the tongue alittle faster, but needs to say.

(06:21):
I discovered something that was so vitalthat I've been missing for a while, and
that's being present and being presentin the things that you care about.
Being on social media.
It's easy to be distractedby this person, that person.
He said what she said, what they said.
Look, once I unplugged to saythe least, I was able to really.

(06:46):
Pause and spend time with my family.
Spend time with the lovedones, spend time with myself.
Going to the gym wassomething that was my me time.
Journaling was my me time.
Riding a bike, walking around, going out to get some coffee, and
just actually just sitting thereand just enjoying the ambiance.

(07:07):
That was something that was vital for me.
And really help me out just being present.
Along with being present.
I didn't even post anything.
My family and I, we went to thecircus and this is the first time my
kids seen the circus and they enjoythemselves seeing the joy on their face.
The laughing, the smelling, especiallynot only just on my kids, but my wife.

(07:32):
It was something that I was justlike, yes, I'm glad that we did this.
I don't have to post on Instagramand I don't have to post on TikTok
and Hey, this is what we did.
No, it's just I'm with you guys.
We enjoying it, and that wassomething that was peaceful.

(07:53):
We spend a lot of money at the circus, which is okay, but the most important
part is creating memories To this day.
My kids talk about thecircus all the time.
Oh my God.
Did you see what the motorcycles came out?
Oh my.
It was like room, room.
Like it was so fun.
And that's the experience thatthey're gonna take with them forever.

(08:15):
So that's something that's vital.
And you don't have to necessarily,if you don't have any family yet, if
you're just someone who is just tryingto figure out the world, that's okay.
You can spend time with yourloved ones, your friends.
People that you care about.
It doesn't necessarily have to be,if you don't have kids, it's fine.
You can spend time with anyonethat brings joy to your life.

(08:37):
So I mentioned finding purpose andthis finding purpose is something
that been on my mind for a while.
And then things that I've always wanted tocreate and I didn't have time to create.
Along with the Just Believe journal.
I created other products andthese products that I created.
These products are in thedescription or the show notes.
If you're watching this onYouTube, it's in the description.

(08:59):
If you listen to this on the audio, it'sin the show notes and the tools that I
created you can find in Champion's Corner.
Champion's Corner is.
The corners for resources that youcan find that is for the community.
All you need to do is just plug in youremail and you get it right away instantly.
And with these tools, I createdsomething called the Champions

(09:23):
Mental Resilient Game Plan.
It's exactly what it is.
It's a guide to help you build mentalstrength and resilience so you can
be the best version of yourself.
And then for those who are tryingto navigate during hard times, I
created the Champions Crisis Compass, and there it's resources and tools,
strips that can help you navigate.

(09:47):
Any wonder, there are some hard times.
There's so many lifelines in thereand tools that you can use, and
that's something that I've beenwanting to do for a while, but.
Power of social media.
I felt like I had to do other stuff andthis was something that was vital to me.
And with that, I createdanother tools and products that
you can find in Winner's Way.

(10:08):
Winner's Way is where you can findthe Just Leave Journal, another tool
that you can find in winner's way.
Is the mental health protection guide.
That's only for a dollar.
You can get it right away, just a dollar.
And this is somethingthat was vital for me.
It gives you compact tools toreally get those haters off of me.

(10:28):
Protect your peace 'causethat's something that is vital.

So I'm, I'm intriguedto see your responses.

(10:49):
So before we go, I'm gonnado a quick recap on the four
things that I've learned.
Step one is, health is key.
There's no you if you don't takecare of your health, everything else.
It's relevant.
Step two, clarity, being able to pauseto get some clarity and understand
what direction that you want to go in.
Three something that we all may need tofind it's purpose Finding purpose doesn't

(11:14):
mean you have to go out there and createyour purpose can be, man, you know what?
This job is not for me.
Let me go look for a new job,or right now I'm not happy.
How can I rediscover myhappiness in step four?
The most important thing, peace.
Peace is something that isso vital to anyone and in the

(11:36):
