Jay Lane (00:01):

share my stories and personalexperiences in the hopes of
inspiring others to exploretheir own spirituality.

(00:22):
Grab your favorite mug andsettle in.
And let's get started.
I've often been asked to helppolice in different situations,

(00:42):
such as finding missing personsor my insight on murder
investigations, to name a few,and I've always loved working
with law enforcement.
And in recent years, theintegration of unconventional
methods into criminalinvestigations has drawn both
intrigue and skepticism.
And, believe me, I understandthat all too well.
But amongst these methods andbelieve me, I understand that
all too well, but amongst thesemethods, the involvement of

(01:05):
psychics and mediums has sparkeda persistent debate.
While some may dismiss psychicabilities, numerous cases
suggest that psychics or mediumscan provide valuable insight
that, when combined withtraditional investigation
techniques, can contribute tothe resolution of complex cases.
So today we're going to explorehow psychics and mediums assist

(01:30):
law enforcement in solvingcrimes, the methodologies they
employ and the implications oftheir involvement in criminal
investigations.
So psychics and mediums oftenoccupy different niches within
the realm of intuitive practices, and psychics possess
extrasensory perceptionabilities that allow them to

(01:51):
tune into energies andintuitively understand events
beyond human perception.
They may offer insights intothe motivations of suspects or
potential locations related to acrime, and, in contrast,
mediums connect with spirits andthey can communicate
information that might beunknown to the living,

(02:13):
particularly in cases involvingunresolved murders or missing
persons.
The use of psychics in criminalinvestigations really is not new
, and early instances can betraced back to the 19th century,
and there was one case thatcomes to mind and it's the one
of Brink's job back in 1956,when police enlisted the help of

(02:36):
a psychic who provided detailsabout a suspect that were later
proven to be very accurate.
Back in the 1990s, policedepartments across the United
States began to more openlyconsider the potential
assistance of psychics ormediums across various cases.
Although many law enforcementagencies approach this with

(02:58):
caution, some have foundtangible benefits by
incorporating insights frompsychics and mediums.
Several real-life casesillustrate the potential
effectiveness of psychicinvolvement in law enforcement,
such as the case of the missingboy.
In the 1980s, a psychic wascalled to assist in the search

(03:18):
of a missing child in California, and the individual provided
specific information about thearea where the child might be
found, which led investigatorsto a nearby location, while the
child was ultimately found safeelsewhere.
The psychic's detaileddescription prompted the police
to exhaust leads that they mightnot have otherwise pursued.

(03:41):
In another case, dating back tothe 1997 murder of Mary Ann
Sweeney in New York, policesought the assistance of a
medium who provided insightsabout the perpetrator.
The medium described thephysical characteristics and the
overall demeanor of the suspect, which aligned with witness

(04:02):
accounts and althoughconventional evidence led to an
arrest.
And although conventionalevidence led to an arrest, the
psychic's details helped narrowdown the pool of suspects early
in the investigation.
Cold cases often burden lawenforcement agencies and, in
some instances, psychics ormediums have been consulted to

(04:22):
shed light on long-standingmysteries, with some
successfully generating leadsthat reinvigorate investigations
.
A psychic's insight hassometimes provided crucial
details or suggested new avenuesof investigation that
detectives may have overlooked.
So why do police considerpsychics or mediums?

(04:45):
Well, law enforcement officialsare often open to exploring
various resources wheninvestigating criminal activity,
especially in desperate orcomplex situations, and so I
believe that police have engagedwith psychics and mediums for
the following reasons, and I'mgoing to list a few.
The first one is freshperspectives.

(05:08):
Investigators may become soimmersed in the details of the
case that they lose sight of theobvious connections, a psychic
may provide an alternativeviewpoint that impacts
problem-solving approaches.
There's also filling in thegaps.
In cases where conventionalevidence is scarce, such as

(05:30):
missing persons or unsolvedmurders, psychics might provide
what investigators considerpotential useful insights.
There's also communityengagement.
The use of psychics and mediumscan help to engage the
community in cases, particularlywhen both may generate
additional publicity, which canlead to tips or further

(05:52):
information.
And then there's emotionalsupport.
This is in cases of trauma orloss.
Families of victims may findvalue in the spiritual
reassurance provided by mediums, creating an opportunity for law
enforcement to engage withemotionally distressed
individuals.

(06:12):
Despite the instances of successattributed to psychics or
mediums, skepticism remainsprevalent with many law
enforcement agencies and, trustme, I know that all too well.
Critiques regarding thelegitimacy of psychic abilities
are common, driven primarily bythe lack of evidence or

(06:33):
validation of psychic claims.
Some police officers relyexclusively on tangible evidence
and forensic science, viewingreliance on psychic intuition as
a diversion from establishedinvestigative methods.
For them, it doesn't make anysense right.
Additionally, there areconcerns about the ethical

(06:53):
implications of using psychicsor mediums, particularly when
their involvement may misleadinvestigations or provide false
hope to victims' families.
When police departments doexplore working with psychics,
establishing clear boundariesand best practices is crucial.
Here are some recommendations Isuggest for effective

(07:16):
collaboration.
The very first thing istransparency.
Investigators should be openabout the boundaries between
conventional methods and psychicinvolvement, offering clarity
to all parties about thecontributions and limitations
presented by psychics.
There's also vetting, becausenot all psychics and mediums are

(07:38):
equally credible.
A preliminary vetting processshould identify individuals with
history, a successfulcollaboration with law
enforcement.
There's also documentation.
Keeping detailed records of anypsychic insight provided can
aid in the evaluation of theireffectiveness and may help law

(08:00):
enforcement learn from theseexperiences.
There's also collaboration withtraditional methods.
Information from psychics ormediums should supplement, not
replace, traditionalinvestigative approaches.
Investigators can assess theinsight offered in conjunction

(08:20):
with the physical evidenceavailable.
Psychics and mediums have founda niche in the complex world of
criminal investigations,offering unique insights that,
although often viewed withskepticism, can provide
potential leads in difficultcases, while their methods can
fluctuate between helpful andcontentious.

(08:43):
While their methods canfluctuate between helpful and
contentious, their involvementillustrates a broader
willingness from law enforcementagencies to explore diverse
avenues in their pursuit ofjustice.
As investigations becomeincreasingly multifaceted, the
potential for collaborationbetween conventional methods and
innovative practices offer aglimpse into the evolving

(09:07):
landscape of criminal resolutionand, ultimately, the marriage
of science and intuition mayilluminate pathways to answers
even in the darkest ofcircumstances.
Thank you so much for listeningin today.
I hope you have an absolutelybeautiful week ahead and until

(09:27):
next time we'll talk to youagain real soon.
Bye, bye, thanks for listeningin.
I hope you enjoyed today'slineway to spirit.
