Speaker 2 (00:38):
Hello and welcome to
the Languag of Spirit.
The concept of earthboundspirits has fascinated people
for generations, giving rise tocountless tales, myths and
paranormal explorations.
But what exactly are earthboundspirits, and why do some souls
seem unable to move on after thephysical death?
Today, I wanted to explore thenature of earthbound spirits,
(01:02):
their characteristics and thereasons why they may become
trapped in the realm between theliving and the afterlife.
Earthbound spirits aretypically identified as souls of
individuals who have passedaway but remain connected to the
physical world.
They may linger in a particularlocation, often tied to places
(01:23):
they frequented during theirlifetime, or remain close to
specific individuals such asfamily or friends.
These spirits are notnecessarily malevolent.
In fact, many times they simplyseek comfort, familiarity or
closure.
Earthbound spirits often havedeep emotional connections to
(01:45):
specific people or locations.
They may feel a strong pulltowards families, homes or even
objects that were significantduring their lifetime.
I remember one particularclient who kept on smelling
smoke in her family room.
She said that the type ofcigarette that she was smelling
(02:06):
was connected to her husband, who had always smoked in his
favorite chair in the familyroom, and he had passed away
very quickly and I believe hissoul didn't realize that he had
died.
So I explained to her that thiswas a connection to a specific
location in her home where hefelt the happiest, especially
(02:27):
while smoking cigarettes in hisfavorite chair.
When it comes to unfinishedbusiness, many earthbound
spirits have unresolved issuesthat prevent them from
transitioning to the afterlife.
This can range from emotionalties to unfinished tasks, such
as a promise made to a loved oneor a conflict that never
(02:51):
reached resolution.
This reminds me of the story ofMichelle, whose fiancé had
promised to marry her beforepassing away.
However, that never happened.
He died days before they wereto marry and I believe his soul
was lingering around because ofthe promise he made to her,
making it hard for him to leave.
(03:13):
I encouraged her to tell himthat he had passed away and that
it was okay that he didn'tmarry her because, had he
survived, she knew in her heartthat they would have married.
She said that once she had hadthis conversation with him, she
felt that his soul had beenrelieved and although she loved
(03:34):
to feel his presence, she didn'tfeel him lingering around as
much as he had been, which madeher feel happy.
Now, moving on to tragiccircumstances of death.
Sudden or violent deaths canleave individuals in a state of
confusion, making it challengingfor them to understand their
(03:54):
new reality and encouraging themto stay in the physical realm,
like my father, for instance.
My father passed away while hewas in a coma.
My father had no clue that hehad died.
His soul lingered here forabout a week after his death and
my mother, who was a practicingpsychic, knew that he was
(04:15):
earthbound.
She sat down one night and hada heart-to-heart with his soul,
telling him that he had diedwhile in a coma and that he
needed to go through to thelight.
She felt the heaviness of hissoul, as she put it, lifting to
the heavens and saw in hermind's eye the biggest smile on
(04:36):
his face.
She felt comforted, knowingthat his soul had moved on.
Some believe that the fear ofjudgment or punishment in the
afterlife can anchor a spirit tothis world.
This fear might stem frompersonal beliefs acquired during
their lifetime or culturalteachings, for instance, when it
(05:00):
comes to spirits who areashamed of who they were or
those who died by way of suicide.
Some souls do not want toaccept death, just as they don't
want to accept life, and manyof them stay stuck in between
realms.
This is by no means a way ofpunishment for these souls.
They are simply confused or maynot want to accept their death
(05:24):
because of their beliefs.
I had a cousin who died by wayof suicide and I felt him
grounded here because he didn'twant to accept his death, just
like he couldn't accept living, and it took a few conversations
with his soul, as well as abanishing ritual, to talk his
soul into going through to thelight.
All souls eventually do crossthrough to the other side.
(05:46):
Again, this is not punishmentfor souls.
They are guided by spirits whocan also assist them in learning
more about their soul's purposeand helping them cross through
to the afterlife.
So why do spirits get stuck inbetween realms?
Well, several factorscontribute to why earthbound
spirits may remain trapped in aliminal space between the
(06:09):
physical world and the afterlifeemotional bonds.
The strongest reason seems tobe emotional attachment.
Spirits may feel aresponsibility towards loved
ones that keeps them lingering.
They might want to providecomfort, guidance or protection,
but fail to realize that theirpresence can sometimes worry or
(06:31):
distress those they love.
There's also trauma andconfusion, unexplained events
such as accidental deaths,unexpected illnesses.
These can leave a person in astate of shock, leading them to
opt to stay rather thantransitioning to an unknown
realm that they're unpreparedfor, and this trauma can create
(06:52):
a lingering feeling of confusion, similar to being lost.
There's also ignorance of theirstate.
Some spirits may not evenrealize that they're dead.
The transition from life to theafterlife can be disorienting,
and if a spirit doesn'trecognize their death, they're
likely to remain in a familiarenvironment while trying to
(07:14):
process what's happened.
There's also cultural andreligious beliefs, and in many
cultures, the afterlife isviewed through the lens of a
specific religious or spiritualbelief.
Fear stemming from thosebeliefs can prevent a soul from
moving on, as they worry aboutthe repercussions of their
actions during life.
(07:35):
Earthbound spirits represent acaptivating intersection of life
, death and the unknown.
They're shaped not just bytheir life experiences, but also
by the emotional and spiritualties they forged while living.
And understanding earthboundspirits invites us to look at
our own lives, our relationshipsand the importance of closure,
(07:59):
not just for ourselves but alsofor those who may still be
lingering in the shadows of ourworld.
In exploring the uncanny realmof earthbound spirits, we're
reminded that the boundariesbetween life and death are not
as clear-cut as they might seem.
Through compassion,understanding and sacred rituals
(08:21):
, we could provide support notonly for the living, but also to
those who might be waiting fora gentle nudge towards their
next journey.
I want to thank you so much forlistening in today.
I hope you have an absolutelybeautiful week ahead and until
next time, we'll talk to youagain real soon.
