Speaker 1 (00:00):
Have you ever felt
like you had cement blocks stuck
on your feet or like you weretrying to tread through
quicksand?
We're going to get into all thedetails about what.
Does that even mean gettingunstuck?
Why are we even stuck in thefirst place?
We're going to dig into allthat good stuff in today's
(00:22):
episode.
Let's dig in.
(00:59):
Welcome to the show.
Today we're talking about howto get unstuck.
We're going to be talking aboutthe root causes of feeling
stuck, practical and effectivesolutions to regain your
momentum and how to continueprogressing, because being stuck
(01:24):
is a feeling we're not actuallystuck unless we are literally
in quicksand but it can be avery challenging feeling to move
past.
I've been there myself andliterally it felt like there
were cement blocks on my feet,so I understand the feeling of
(01:52):
it.
I'll also say that we're goingto be talking about how to get
unstuck.
You know what it actually ishow to move through that feeling
.
But I will add in sometimes themost effective and fastest way
(02:13):
to shift this is by getting anoutside opinion, and not from
any Joe Blow on the block, fromany Joe Blow on the block.
Getting an educated opinion onwhat you're actually going
through.
So not just a random opinionthat has no basis in what you're
(02:33):
actually experiencing.
So that can be someone that isin the same industry as you, who
has gone through somethingsimilar, someone that you know,
who has made it out on the otherside of what you are going
through, a trained professionallike a coach or a mentor,
(02:55):
someone who can give you realperspective.
You know, all it takes oftenwhen we're stuck is a new way of
looking at something.
So I've worked with clients whohave been stuck for so long and
we've had one call and onething I've said has shifted
(03:20):
their perspective and opened upa whole new way of looking at it
and a whole new door ofopportunities.
The problem is when we get intothe energy and the thought
patterns and the frequency ofstuckness.
What keeps us there is a lot oftimes we just keep
(03:42):
regurgitating the same thoughtpatterns over and over and over
and we're so focused on theproblem and trying to figure out
how to get unstuck that wedon't leave any space or room
for new ideas, inspired ideas, new insights.
(04:05):
There's no room for it.
We're just regurgitating thesame thing over and over and
over and over and people get toa place where they're like I
don't even see a way out.
I don't even see a way out ofthis, or I have no idea how to
get myself unstuck.
And getting that rightperspective shifts everything.
(04:27):
This is one of the reasons whyand I'm going to get into the
stuff, I'm going to get into theinformation how to get unstuck
and what it's all about.
But I'll say this One of thethings that people often do is
they'll find my website and theywill be interested in coaching.
(04:49):
They'll be interested in knowingyou know what are the rates,
how many sessions in a package, what are all the things it
includes, and my coaching isapplication.
You do need to have anapplication.
However, besides that point, what I tell people is it's not
about how many sessions, it'snot about how long are the
sessions and do I get a PDF.
(05:11):
What is important is the actualtransformation.
It's the shift, right, and allyou need is that one little
piece and you're fine.
You're on a whole nother level,right?
It's not about, again, even howto get unstuck.
It's not about talking about itand psychoanalyzing it and
(05:35):
figuring out all these thingsover and over and over again.
It really is a shift inperspective.
Okay, so let's talk about whatbeing stuck actually is, because
again, it's a feeling, and whenwe can dig deeper into what
that actual feeling is, we canunderstand what strategy to then
(05:59):
implement to move through it.
And again, the strategy isrooted in a new perspective.
So we want to be focused in onthe solution, not the problem.
We don't want to be focused inon how to fix a problem, because
then all our frequency, ourperspective, everything is
(06:22):
directed at the problem.
We actually want to shift thatand focus in on the solution,
because the solution is givingus the answer to actually move
forward, not just loop and digourselves deeper into the stuck
hole.
So what are you actually feelingwhen you feel stuck?
Are you feeling resistance totake that next step?
(06:44):
If you are, if you know whatthis step is, but you're
resisting it, what are youactually afraid of?
Write this out, actually, takeout your pen and write it out.
What are you afraid of?
Are you feeling overwhelmed?
Is there so much going on thatyou are paralyzed with overwhelm
(07:10):
?
Your whole system has shut down, so to speak.
How can we actually break thisup into chunks so you can
understand what to focus on nowand what to focus on next?
A lot of times, with overwhelm, there's many things we can get
(07:30):
rid of that are just notimportant to your values.
To move the needle, we've justkind of gotten to a habit, or we
think we have to do it.
Maybe you're in straight upfear, like you are literally
feeling a visceral feeling offear and you can't get yourself
to move forward.
Maybe that is fear of judgment, fear of have this fear of
(07:54):
judgment.
Let me tell you, fear ofjudgment is the number one thing
that comes up in my clientcalls when I'm working with
clients, and a lot of timesthese clients are from the
(08:14):
outside, look, and they areconfident.
Right, I'm not saying they'renot confident, but they look
extremely confident, like theywouldn't care in the world what
people had to say about them.
But they have a fear ofjudgment.
I have had a fear of judgment.
It's stopped me many times inmy tracks from putting things
out.
One of the things that hashelped is just putting it out
(08:37):
and then seeing, you know, thecomments or the thumbs down, and
it just doesn't even to me.
I'm like who cares?
I don't even know what theydon't like, it doesn't matter.
I'm focusing in on the peoplethat do matter, the people that
are enjoying it, right.
So I kind of went off trackhere with the stuckness, but
it's really important to getclear on what is the underlying
(09:03):
feeling.
What is the underlying emotion?
What is really going on here?
Maybe the feeling of stuck isreally a sense of confusion.
Right, we're confused whichpath to take.
I'm not sure this is a bigthing that comes up when someone
is unconsciously sabotagingtheir growth and expansion.
(09:28):
I see it a lot in theentrepreneur world, where a
person will almost flip betweenthings continuously, and not
that there's any problem withexploring what you want to do
and changing things up.
But when someone is flipping, flipping, flipping, but never
(09:49):
giving anything enough time totake root and grow, a lot of
times this can be a form ofstaying within what I call the
safety zone.
Resistance masks itself inconfusion a lot of times and we
can have the feeling of oh, I'mstuck, I don't know which way to
go.
Well, one choose a path, walk,go down that path and analyze is
(10:19):
this working, is it not working?
And trust that you will becourse corrected into the right
path.
But give it enough time forthings to actually take root or
for absolute clarity if you likethis path or you don't.
But don't simply shift becauseyou're not seeing the results
fast enough, because a lot oftimes you're not giving it
(10:42):
enough time to take root For ahigh achiever.
Feeling stuck can feel veryfrustrating because we like
moving forward, we like knowingwhat we're doing, we like to
take action.
So I'm going to invite you toshift any belief system that has
you feeling like you're in thewrong place, like wrong place,
(11:05):
wrong time, and shift yourperspective and understand that
something is going on within you.
Either what's coming up arefears and what we want to do
with fears is we don't want toshove them down, ignore them.
We actually want to bring themto the surface so we can move
through that fear.
We can bring it up, release itor what's going on is your
(11:29):
spirit is directing you toanother path.
A lot of times, if I'm workingwith a client who's coming from,
let's say, the corporate worldand they're not quite sure the
direction they want to go, butthey know that they're not
really happy and they feel stuck, they feel like they can't move
(11:51):
forward, let's look at that inthe sense of there's a part of
you that is guiding you to amuch more aligned path for your
soul, the reason why you camehere.
(12:12):
And sometimes there's a timeperiod where you're not going to
have that clarity.
So, instead of saying like Ifeel stuck, like there's
something wrong with me, Ishould know what I'm doing.
Change it to.
You know, instead of thinkingyou need to fix something, shift
it to.
This is my opportunity toexplore.
This is my opportunity toexplore any resistance or fear
(12:38):
path is truly aligned with myvalues, with my vision, and how
can I make this easier for me?
What would that look like?
(12:59):
Is it hiring someone to help me?
Maybe a coach or a mentor?
Maybe it's hiring, if you'refeeling overwhelmed, an
operational manager, someone tohelp you eliminate things that
are no longer working for youand bring in systems that will
help you If you feel like you'rewalking in quicksand.
(13:30):
Walking in quicksand.
This is your invitation to movethrough that feeling.
It doesn't mean you need tofigure out all the answers, but
asking the question what is onething you can either let go of
or bring into the equationthat's going to either help you
to make progress or to help giveyou clarity?
(13:52):
Because there's no I shouldn'tsay there's no use in it,
because there's use ineverything.
Right, we learn from everything, but to continue trying the
same things that haven't beenworking, or looping the same
thought patterns over and overand over and over and over and
(14:14):
over and over, is the mostfrustrating.
I've been there, the mostfrustrating, non-effective path
to go, and the most effectivestrategy if you've been stuck
for three months or more is toget outside help.
(14:35):
Get the outside help because wehave blind spots and there's
nothing to be ashamed of that.
Get the outside help because wehave blind spots and there's
nothing to be ashamed of that.
We as human beings have blindspots and that's why it can be
challenging to truly makeradical shifts when we're in
spots like this, feeling stuck, feeling overwhelmed, feeling
(14:56):
resistance because of a lot ofthose blind spots, all it takes
sometimes.
This is why I always work.
I have my regular coaches andthen I have part of my
mentorship team that I work withevery six months, because they
give me a new perspective, theybring in clarity and it allows
(15:17):
me to, and it allows me to.
It just gets me out of my ownway and gives me so much clarity
instantly.
So I'm going to wrap it up.
I hope this was helpful and gaveyou a little bit of a new
perspective on what it means tobe stuck and how you can truly
(15:42):
see it, as it's not a problem tobe fixed.
It's just a point in your lifeor in your work to explore, and
with the right mindset, theright perspective shifts, the
right support, you can getunstuck extremely fast and be
(16:03):

time.
