I'm your host, dr Norma Reyes,and today we're diving into a
powerful tool that I often usewith myself and suggest it to
clients to release emotionalblocks, and that is the
emotional freedom technique, andtoday I will be guiding you on
through releasing some stressand overwhelm with eft.

It is a simple tool that really, really works, and I have
really leaned into it these lastfew weeks.
What is eft and where did itcome from?
So eft, or tapping, is a gentle, yet powerful technique that
combines ancient Chineseacupressure with modern

psychology.
It was developed by Gary Craigin the 1990s and it is based on
the idea that negative emotionsare caused by disruptions in the
body's energy system.
It involves tapping on specificmeridian points on the face and
body, while voicing thoughts oraffirmations.
It's kind of like emotionalacupuncture, but without the

needles, and you can do it toyourself, anywhere, anytime.
And why does it work?
When we are overwhelmed,stressed or holding onto heavy
energy, our nervous system goesinto fight or flight mode.
So EFT helps regulate thenervous system, reduce cortisol,

which is stress hormone, andcalm the emotional centers of
the brain, especially theamygdala.
It allows us to shift limitingbeliefs, rewire our subconscious
mind and feel grounded again.
And sometimes that you can useit is when you're stressed and
overwhelmed or anxious, whenyou're about to have a tough
conversation or take a big leap,when you feel like you're

spiraling or stuck in a negativethought pattern, when you're
trying to manifest but yourenergy feels off.
So those are just a few timesyou can use it, but really
anytime that you feel like youwant a way to regulate your
nervous system or change yourvibration or your energy, that
is an excellent time to use it.
I used it this morning and Iwas like, oh, I gotta, I gotta

make an episode about this.
So let's go ahead and do a quicktapping round to relieve stress
and overwhelm If you're drivingor doing something that needs
your focus.
Come back to this part later.
So first we're going to beginby taking a deep breath in
through your nose, pause, andout through your mouth.

(03:41):
Take another nice deep breathin out your mouth.
One last deep breath in andthen out your mouth.
Go ahead and take a moment torate your stress or overwhelm
level from zero to 10.

(04:01):
10 being the most stress andoverwhelm that you've ever felt.
Zero meaning no stress, nooverwhelm, feeling completely
calm.
Go ahead and write down thenumber.
It's important to write downthe number because this is going
to shift your energy and onceyou are done, you can come back
and reflect what number you areat so you can see if it worked

or if you need to do anotherround of this.
Okay, go ahead and repeat afterme as we tap on the following
points.
I'm going to share where to tap.
The first one is the karatechop point, and this is the side
of your hand it's the littleplushy part and you're going to

(04:44):
use your opposite hand's fingersto tap there.
If you haven't ever donetapping before, I will go ahead
and put a picture in the shownotes that you can reference if
you need that.
But this is the point is on thehand, on the side of the hand,
and then your opposite hand.
You're tapping with the fingersgently and as you are tapping,

(05:06):
we're going to start on the sideof the hand, the karate chop
and start.
Even though I feel overwhelmedand there's so much on my mind,
I deeply and completely love andaccept myself, even though I
feel stressed and like I'mfalling apart.

(05:29):
I honor how I feel and chooseto come back to calm, even
though I'm holding pressure andurgency.
I give myself permission to letit go now.
I'm going to repeat this onemore time.
Even though I feel overwhelmedand there's so much on my mind,

(05:56):
I deeply and completely love andaccept myself, even though I
feel stressed and like I'mfalling behind.
I honor how I feel and chooseto come back to calm, even
though I'm holding so muchpressure and urgency.

(06:20):
I give myself permission to letit go now.
Next tapping points the eyebrow.
There's so much on my plate.
There's so much on my plate.
Side of the eye I feel like Ican't slow down.

(06:42):
I feel like I can't slow downUnder the eye.
I'm doing my best, but it feelslike too much.
I'm doing my best, but it feelslike too much.
Under the nose, all this stress, all this stress At the chin,

(07:08):
all this stress At the chin, allthis tension in my body, all
this tension in my body,collarbone, I've been carrying
so much.
I've been carrying so muchUnder the arm.

(07:31):
I'm ready to let it go now.
I'm ready to let it go now.
Top of the head I'm safe tobreathe, release and reset.
I'm safe to breathe, releaseand reset.

(07:52):
Eyebrow I'm safe to slow down.
I am safe to slow down.
Side of the eye I'm allowed torest.
I am allowed to rest Under theeye.

(08:15):
I give myself permission tofeel peace.
I give myself permission tofeel peace Under the nose.
I trust that things areunfolding perfectly.
I trust that things areunfolding perfectly.

(08:36):
Chin, I choose to return areunfolding perfectly.
Chin, I choose to return to mypower.
I choose to return to my power.
Collarbone, I am calm, centeredand grounded.

(08:56):
I am calm, centered andgrounded Under the arm.
This is where the bra line is.
It's safe to relax and receive.
It's safe to relax and receiveLast time top of the head, and I
feel lighter, clearer and morealigned.

(09:16):
Now I feel lighter, clearer andmore aligned.
Now I feel lighter, clearer andmore aligned.
Now, okay, go ahead and take anice deep breath in through your
nose, take a pause, exhalethrough your mouth, take another
nice deep breath in and, as youdo feel how relaxed your body

(09:38):
is and release any remainingtension, take a last nice deep
breath in, hold it and release.
Notice how you feel now.
Rate your stress level again.
Did it shift?

(10:00):
If it didn't repeat it one moretime.
You can do this tapping anytime, anywhere.
The more consistent you are,the more powerful the shifts.
