Do you feel a knot in your stomach when checking your bank account? Or perhaps you believe that wealth and abundance are meant for others, but not for you? These reactions aren't random – they're symptoms of money wounds that many of us carry silently, especially as women of color and daughters of immigrants.

Money wounds are emotional and energetic imprints formed during childhood and reinforced by cultural expectations. They manifest as beliefs like "money doesn't grow on trees," "rich people are greedy," or "I never have enough." Even as accomplished, intelligent women, these subconscious patterns keep us trapped in scarcity mindsets that sabotage our ability to receive abundance.

This episode unpacks where these wounds originate and provides a practical three-step framework for healing them. You'll learn how to acknowledge your specific money wounds through reflective questions, rewrite limiting beliefs with empowering alternatives, and create safety in your nervous system around receiving. The transformation happens when you recognize that abundance isn't about hustling harder – it's about allowing yourself to receive without resistance.

What makes this healing work particularly powerful is understanding that your worth isn't tied to financial struggle. As I share in the episode, "The universe doesn't reward struggle. It responds to alignment." When you heal your relationship with money, you open pathways to manifest from wholeness rather than lack.

Ready to transform your relationship with abundance? Listen now, and don't forget to subscribe and share with someone who needs this message. (00:46):
spiritual practice and makemanifestation a way of life,
you're in the right place.
So let's get started.
Hey, everyone, welcome back.
This is Dr Norma Reyes, yourhost of the Manifesting Latino

(01:08):
podcast, and today we're divinginto something I know.
So many of us carry quietly, ourmoney wounds.
If you have ever felt shamearound money, anxiety when you
check your bank account, or likethe wealth that you desire is
just not meant for people likeyou, this episode is for you.

(01:29):
We're going to unpack whatmoney wounds actually are, where
they come from and how to starthealing them so that you can
manifest from a place ofwholeness, alignment and true
abundance.
So, whether you're walkingaround your neighborhood washing
dishes or just taking a fewminutes for yourself.
Let this conversation meet youexactly where you are.

(01:52):
Let's begin with.
What are money wounds?
Money wounds are the emotionaland energetic imprints we carry
about money.
Usually we pick these up inchildhood.
They're reinforced by cultureand society norms and they can
be passed down throughgenerations.
These sound like we can'tafford that.

(02:14):
Money doesn't grow on trees.
People with money are greedy orselfish.
I'm bad with money, I neverhave enough, and the list goes
on.
I'm sure you can think of yourown that you have, that you have
heard, and these beliefs getlodged into our nervous system.
So even as adults, even assmart, capable, successful women

(02:36):
, we can find ourselves stuck inpatterns of scarcity, fear,
guilt or avoidance when it comesto money.
And when you're carrying amoney wound, it can feel unsafe
to receive more, even if youdon't know that's what's going
on.
It can feel unfamiliar to keepit or, worse, you might even

(02:57):
feel unworthy altogether.
And where do these money woundscome from?
Many of us, especially as womenof color, as daughters of
immigrants or first-generationsuccess stories, we grew up
watching money be a source ofstress.
Maybe there were argumentsabout bills, fear about not

(03:17):
making rent.
Maybe you were told not to askfor things because there just
wasn't money for that.
You might have learned toovergive, to feel worthy, to
undercharge because you're justgrateful to be here, or to hoard
money because you're afraidit'll disappear.
These are all coping mechanismswe've developed around money,

(03:38):
not because we're broken, butbecause we were trying to stay
safe but here's the truth.
But because we were trying tostay safe, but here's the truth.
You're allowed to want more, and you don't have to hustle,
prove or sacrifice your peace tohave it.
This is where healing yourmoney wounds will help you shift

(03:58):
into abundance.
So healing your money woundsisn't about becoming a
millionaire overnight orpretending to be abundant when
you don't.
It's about telling the truth, softening your defenses and
choosing to create a newrelationship with money, one
that is rooted in worth, safetyand self-trust.

(04:21):
Here are three steps, to beginwith.
So step one is acknowledgingthe wound.
Ask yourself what was theearliest memory I have around
money.
What beliefs did I pick up inmy home, culture or community
around money?
Be honest, this is for yourself.

(04:43):
Name it, write it down andallow the first layer of healing
to begin simply byacknowledging having awareness
of where these money wounds lie.
Next, rewrite your story.
For every money wound there's anew belief waiting to be planted

(05:06):
.
So old belief I always have towork hard for money.
New belief money flows to mewith ease when I'm aligned with
my purpose.
Old belief if I have more, others will have less.
New belief my abundance blesseseveryone around me.
So for this step, I want you tojust make a list of all the

(05:29):
different money wounds that youhave, all the different beliefs
that you have, all the beliefsthat you've heard maybe things
that you no longer think youbelieve, but maybe influencing
you in some ways.
Write it all down.
Take a moment to pause here, towrite it all down.
Let it just come out as raw asit can be, and then start with
the belief that pops out to youthe most.

(05:50):
So let's say you have a beliefof like oh, people would never
pay me X Y, z for that, whetherit's in your career or your
business or whatever.
Or that you think you couldnever earn a certain amount of
money in one day.
Let's say I could never make10,000 in a month or 10,000 in a
day.
Now take that belief and thencreate a new belief.

(06:11):
Create a new belief that youagree with.
So if you want to bring in moreabundance, have a higher paying
job or just in general feelcomfortable with what you have,
then that can look somethinglike abundance flows freely to
me.
So if you want to be rooted inworthiness and deservingness,
this can sound like I am worthyof receiving large sums of money

(06:34):
with ease and joy.
It is safe for me to have moresums of money with ease and joy.
It is safe for me to have more.
If you want to be rooted inexpansion and possibility, you
can say something like making10k in a day is possible for me,
and it gets to be fun andaligned.
If you want it rooted inconfidence and alignment, it can
sound like the more I alignwith my purpose, the more

(06:54):
abundance flows to me.
If you want to be a powerfulreceiver, you can say things
like I welcome wealth withgratitude and grace, or money
flows to me when I allow myselfto be seen, supported and
celebrated.
So those are just a few.
The possibilities are infinite.
What you want to do is createnew beliefs that you plant into

(07:18):
your subconscious slowly.
You can do this throughjournaling these affirmations.
You can do this by recitingthem, and you can also do them
by creating subliminals.
Okay, so step three.
I'm gonna review the last twosteps Acknowledge the wound,
rewrite the story, create safetyaround.
Receiving is step three.

(07:39):
The nervous system needs tofeel safe with more.
So start small practicingreceiving compliments without
deflecting, accept help withoutguilt, let money in without
immediately pushing it out andallow yourself to begin to
breathe into the discomfort.
That's where your expansion is.
When you start to allow yournervous system to be regulated,

(08:01):
to calm yourself down, the moresafe you feel with the amount of
money you have or don't have, because maybe there's a part of
you that feels like you don'thave enough.
When you are beginning to feelmore comfortable with everything
you do have or don't, you startto allow your nervous system to
open up, because when we are ina state of fight, flight or

(08:24):
freeze, we are shuttingourselves down, even if it's
unintentional, and we can'treceive more because we are in a
state of arousal.
So we have to calm ourselvesdown and be open to receiving.
And I'm going to leave you witha journal prompt for today, and
that is what is one moneybelief I'm ready to release.
And what would it feel like tobelieve something new instead.

(08:48):
I'll repeat that one more timewhat is one money belief I'm
ready to release and what wouldit feel like to believe
something new instead?
So that is today's episode onhow to heal your money wounds.
Remember you are allowed tohave more than enough.
You are allowed to live a lifeof ease, overflow and joy, not

(09:09):
because you earned it, butbecause you exist.
The universe doesn't rewardstruggle.
It responds to alignment andwhen you begin healing your
money wounds, you open the doorto receive in ways that feel
grounding, nourishing and trueto you.
If this episode spoke to you, Iwant to invite you to keep going

(09:30):
.
