Caryn Portnoy (00:02):
Hi everyone, and welcome to the music of Life.
I'm your host. Karen Portnoy, before I get into this episode,
please comment, ask questions, share some of your experiences,
and don't forget to subscribe.
You music.

(00:27):
Someone asked me if I would talkabout this total lunar eclipse
that we just had yesterday, onThursday, March 13. And although
I don't consider myself anexpert on moon cycles and
astrology and all of that. I doknow some things, and I've
experienced some things, andalthough I'll be reading some

(00:49):
things from Google and othermedia sources, I'll sprinkle in
my own thoughts and commentsthroughout, just to just to add
my own thing. So the lunareclipse is also called the Blood
Moon, and for anyone who does ordoesn't know that each month in
the calendar has its own name ofeach moon. So the Blood Moon for

(01:12):
March, it happens when the sunthe Earth and the Moon are
positioned so that the full moonpasses through the darkest part
of the Earth's shadow called theumbra, which could make the moon
look red orange. That was fromGoogle. So here from New York,
the Blood Moon was not reallyeasy to see because it was too

(01:33):
cloudy, and it was also passingthrough the Earth and the Sun
late at night. So I think it waslike 1:26am, was when the
Eclipse began. Full totality wasbetween 2:26am, and 331, it

ended at 4 (01:52):
32am, and that was it. So that was that was the
main Eclipse. From what Iunderstand, though, the energy
leading up to and leaving can beup to three days before the
Eclipse and three days after theEclipse. So there are certain
energies and emotions and thingsgoing on that people kind of

(02:15):
tune into the moon for the fullmoon, which is a time of
culmination and release isexpected to bring heightened
emotions, a push for clarity andan opportunity to let go of what
no longer serves you, while alsoencouraging you to focus on your
needs and self care. That's alsofrom Google a more detailed

(02:36):
explanation. So with theculmination and release, full
moons are often seen as times ofcompletion and release,
encouraging you to finalizeprojects. Let go of old patterns
and make space for newbeginnings. Regarding heightened
emotions, the full moon canamplify emotions, potentially
bringing up strong feelings, both positive and negative.

(02:59):
Regarding clarity and insight, the full moon's illumination can
provide clarity and insight intoyour life, helping you see
things more clearly and makebetter decisions.
With self care and needs, it'srecommended to focus on your
needs and engage in self careactivities to support your well

(03:23):
being during this powerful lunarphase. I can speak to this
myself, because anytime there'sa full moon, I typically take
one of my baths where I focus myintentions on letting go of
everything that no longer servesme, and only bring in things
that are for my highest good, things like that. So it's very

(03:46):
powerful. I have to say, grounding is also really great
to do for self care. You know, walk outside in the grass and
the dirt and barefoot, go hug atree things like that. Being out
in nature is really great, evenif you're sitting outside and
just sitting in a chair lookingup at the moon. I mean, that's

(04:06):
considered in nature as well. Sowhen you set your intentions
based on the full moon's energy, you focus on the future,
focusing on what you want torelease and what you want to
create, regarding communicationand negotiation, the energy of
the full moon can be helpful forcommunicating your needs and

(04:27):
finding solutions to currentissues.
So what should you not do duringthe full moon? Most definitely,
you should not whine. You shouldnot think about negative things.
Avoid complaining and keep everynegative thought away

(04:49):
concentrating on negativity andcreating it, which means talking
about it destroys your aurafield during the full moons
ultra fast. So what should. Doinstead, take a moon bath. What
is a moon bath? You ask? Well, exactly what I just said to sit
outside in a chair or wherever, and just bask in the moon's

(05:13):
glow, and however long you couldstay there for a while, will be
more helpful as time goes on,but it's it's incredibly healing
and relaxing and wonderful. Youcan also journal. You can charge
any crystals. If you're intocrystals, you could just keep
them out overnight. You know, sitting in the moonlight, by

(05:35):
charging it, it means that it'sclearing out whatever energy is
on the crystal. Reach out toyour family, honor your
ancestors, meditate and treatyourself.
I'm not much of a journaler, perse, but I do meditate. I do

(05:57):
treat myself all kinds of waysof self care. I was actually
planning on taking a moon bathtonight, so I'm looking forward
now that the weather is a littlebit warmer, to sitting outside
and just basking in the glow ofthe moon. I'll charge some
crystals out there with me aswell. It's also great to

(06:17):
submerge yourself in waterduring a full moon, not just to
cleanse, but also, you knowyou're you feel more into the
flow of the energy. So this iswhy I take baths during the full
moons, because I don't know theenergy is just more heightened.
And for those of you who areinto manifesting, how do you

(06:38):
manifest during a full moon? Soyou can spend a moment thinking
about what you want to releaseand what you want to attract.
Take a piece of paper and jotdown the things that you'd like
to manifest over the next month, place the wish list somewhere
special, like a box or a jar,and then put it outside to soak
up the moonlight. How do youcleanse yourself on a full moon

(07:01):
so clear some space meditationcould start a gratitude journal,
smudging with sage, which is oneof my favorite things to do. I
use the bundles of White Sage, and it's a great way to clear a
space of the energy that'sthere. I sage myself. It's

(07:23):
great. You can get it on Amazon.
You can look up on Google. Youknow what prayers or meditations
or mantras, you can say asyou're smudging, but you can
feel the shift in energy frombefore and after you sage. So
it's really great. You can lightcandles. You can charge
crystals, you can dance torelease some energy and, like
move it out of your body. Sowhat does the full moon energy

(07:47):
feel like? As the moon reachesits fullest potential, its
energy intensifies, and so doesours. Our emotions may amplify
and our desires become clearer.
This heightened energetic stateopens up a window of opportunity
for us to manifest our deepestintentions and aspirations.

(08:09):
Someone asked, Why am I soemotional today about the moon?
While there's no scientificconsensus that the moon directly
causes heightened emotions, somepeople feel more emotional
during certain lunar phases, andthis could be due to a
combination of factors likestress hormones or personal
events, rather than lunarinfluence.

(08:38):
Another thing during full moonsis about embracing change. This
is a time to be open to changeand new beginnings as the energy
encourages us to move forwardand evolve. Eclipses are times
of release and truth tellingurging us to confront and
release the past, even if it'sdifficult, expect emotions to be

(09:01):
amplified, potentially leadingto intense feelings from passion
and excitement to annoyance, andagain, I would really focus
during these times. If you seemto be sensitive to these types
of swings in emotions andintensity, be kind to yourself
and just chill do things thatcalm you down, whatever that I

(09:23):
mean, that'll be different foreverybody. Today, I had a
massage, and it was wonderful.
That's always usually part of myself care routine, but on a day
like today, where the energy isis intensified, it was
especially calming andespecially relaxing and and and
wonderful. I drank a lot ofdecaf herbal tea, so I drank
more tea today than usual. It'swhatever really just soothes

(09:47):
your soul and calms you down. Soyou know, each person can find
what works for them. But theseare just suggestions. There are
many calming apps out there thatyou can. Listen to while you go
to sleep. There's a bunch onYouTube. I know the comm app. I
would definitely recommend notsleeping near your phone. I'm

(10:07):
guilty of doing that, buttonight I'm going to practice
not doing that. There are plentyof pictures taken of me holding
my phone while I'm sleeping, soI'm going to try not to do that
tonight. One of the beautifulthings about full moons is that,
unlike the solar eclipse, youcan stare right at it without

(10:27):
hurting your eyes or anything.
And it's just the peace in indarkness, just having the moon
illuminating the sky, it's soit's so beautiful. It's also
very romantic. I'm reallylooking forward to having my
moon bath later.

(10:52):
It was an interesting articlefrom sensory land talking about
the incredible power ofharnessing the energy of the
full moon to manifest. Ouremotions may amplify and our
desires become clearer. Thisheightened energetic state opens
up a window of opportunity forus to manifest our deepest
intentions and aspirations. Oh,this sounds cool. If you're

(11:16):
manifesting during a full moon, surround yourself in sound,
playing a moon playlist of musicto help you amplify and manifest
will add positive energy to theritual. Ensure that you choose
music that is created with loveand positivity, sound healing
with crystal singing bowls canhelp you amplify your

(11:37):
intentions. I don't know if youguys have ever done anything
with singing bowls, but it is sofun and so cool. And I love
them. You can look up healingsound baths in your area and
maybe go, go and check it out.
It's really It's reallywonderful. I love this too. A
gratitude ceremony beforeconcluding your manifestation

(11:58):
ritual express gratitude for theabundance that is already
present in your life. Thank theuniverse for the opportunity to
manifest your desires and trustin its divine timing. Feel
immense gratitude filling yourheart knowing that the full
moon's energy has aligned withyour intentions. I think this is
probably the most importantthing trusting the process.

(12:20):
Remember, manifesting is aprocess that requires patience
and trust and performing yourfull moon manifestation ritual,
keep an open mind and remainreceptive to the universe's
signs and guidance.
Opportunities will arise.
Synchronicities will occur, andthe path to your desires will

(12:42):
unfold before you. Harnessingthe energy of the full moon to
manifest is a beautiful andempowering practice that
connects us to the rhythms ofnature and aligns us with our
deepest desires. So the nexttime the full moon graces the
sky, embrace its energy, setyour intentions and watch as the
universe conspires to bring yourdreams into reality.

(13:15):
