Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello and welcome back to another episode of the
Nurse's Break Room with JennyLytle, rn.
Last week, we looked atintention and how you are
fearlessly pursuing your dreams, thinking back to what matters
most to you.
What comes up for you in termsof fears that you might have?
What are things that areholding you back?

(00:20):
Where do you feel someresistance back?
Where do you feel someresistance?
I encouraged you to look atyour calendar and figure out if
there are some items that are onthere that are just on there to
take care of you.
So this week we are going intoneeds and what is missing from

(00:42):
your life, body, mind and spirit.
Going into needs and what ismissing from your life, body,
mind and spirit.
So I invite you to, first ofall, just close your eyes and
take a deep breath and envisionyour calm, peaceful and less
stressed life.
What changes do you need tomake to bring that vision to

(01:04):
reality?
What changes do you need tomake to bring that vision to
reality?
As people who are so busy caringfor others that we can forget
to care for ourselves, this canbe a bit uncomfortable, but just
consider the people that yousurround yourself with.
A lot of them are likelystruggling with these same

(01:25):
issues and so encouraging someof them or mentioning to them
that you are on this journey toimprove your life in some way,
to change things in some way.
See if maybe some of them wantto come along on the ride as
well.
If you're listening to this asit's being published, we're
coming to the end of the year in2024.

(01:46):
And everybody starts focusingon New Year's resolutions and
thinking about the ways thatthings are going to be different
next year, but the reality ismost of those resolutions are
tossed by the wayside beforeValentine's Day.
So, being more intentional, looking at what you want to

(02:10):
truly accomplish and what it'sgoing to take to get there,
looking at what's missing andmaybe that's a group of positive
, supportive people Maybe it's amargin in your schedule.
People, maybe it's a margin inyour schedule and just take a

(02:30):
little time to look through thatand figure out what is it that
you need.
I encourage my clients toidentify their spark team, and a
lot of us have one, but it'sjust looking at the people that
make you feel better when you'rearound them, the people that

(02:51):
you always look forward toseeing.
I know for me, I'm anextroverted introvert and
sometimes like I just can't dealwith people anymore and I used
to feel bad about that andsometimes I still do a little
bit.
But it's about knowing your ownlimits.
And there are those people thatwhen you see them in the
grocery store from far away, that you think, oh, you know

(03:15):
what?
I haven't seen her in a longtime, but I just can't today.
Those acquaintances that maybethey're great people, you
genuinely like them, but youjust don't have it in you.
And then there's those peoplethat when you are super happy,
when you are tired, it doesn'tmatter what's going on.

(03:40):
If you're happy, you're tired,you're stressed out, you're sad.
Those are the people that youwould love to see them and talk
to them for a few minutes.
You don't have to be your bestself when you see them.
Those are your spark team kindof people.
So next week we're going to betalking about putting it all

(04:03):
together and in the meantime, just consider these things.
Reflect on your current lifeand identify what feels like
it's missing in terms of body, mind and spirit.
Create a list of people whoenergize you and consider them

(04:24):
part of your spark team and thenchoose one small, intentional
action to improve your dailylife, whether that's setting
boundaries, practicing saying no, or at least I'll get back to
you when asked to do somethingor you know some other activity

(04:45):
that's going to add a little bitof margin to your schedule,
into your schedule, or maybeit's just taking a little bit of
time sometime throughout yourday to sit and breathe and just
kind of reflect quietly for aminute or two.
Until next time, take a littletime for yourself and remember

(05:06):
that self-care isn't selfish.
It's essential if we want tocontinue to care for others and
live our best lives.
