Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello and welcome back to another episode of the
Nurse's Break Room with JennyLytle RN, and today we are going
to talk about something that weall need Quick ways to boost
our energy when we're feelingtired, and we often think that
we need more sleep or morecoffee or a day off or a

(00:20):
vacation in order to feel better.
But sometimes it's those tinyshifts that can really help to
reset our brain and our body injust minutes, and so here's why
the small resets really matter.
Burnout isn't just about doingtoo much.
It's about recovering enoughand short movement.

(00:44):
Recovering enough and shortmovement breathing, exercise or
shift in environment can help togive your mind the break that
it needs.
So three quick ways to boostyour energy Step outside and
even when it's cold, steppingoutside for 60 seconds and just

(01:08):
like taking it all in.
You know really feeling thatfresh air and the sunlight
Hopefully there's some sun we'restarting to see a little more
now around here and just adifferent environment for a
moment can help to kind of wakeyour brain up a little bit.
Something else that you can dois a body wake up and so kind of

(01:33):
you know standing andstretching or shaking out your
arms, and you know, just kind ofmove in a way that feels good,
and that's something that helpsto release some tension,
especially if you've beensitting for a long time.
You know, maybe you're reallyconcentrating on something and
and you could just use that, that bit of movement, and that

(01:53):
releases tension and increasescirculation.
So, and a third thing that youcan do is just take a breathing
reset.
One of my favorite things to dois to do a four seven eight
breathing technique where youbreathe in for four seconds, you

(02:16):
hold for seven seconds and youexhale for eight seconds and you
repeat that for one minute, andthat really helps to reset your
nervous system and just bringyour stress levels down a couple
notches, as well as to wake youup.
So your self-care shift for thisweek try one of these mini
resets today.
Notice how you feel before andafter.

(02:38):
Does it change your energy?
Feel free to reach out and letme know.
I'd love to hear about yourexperience.
Feel free to reach out and letme know.
I'd love to hear about yourexperience If today's episode
helped share with a friend whoneeds an energy boost.
And remember that small shiftscan lead to big changes and
self-care isn't selfish.

(02:58):
It's essential if we want tocontinue to care for others and
live our best lives.
