Sarah shares her story of growing up poor, without a father and eventually finding herself pregnant at 17. The relationship turns abusive but is difficult to end because of religious pressure and financial insecurity. Eventually Sarah determines she has had enough and exits the marriage. She finally finds herself with some freedom and makes up for lost time in unhealthy ways. Eventually, she meets a friend from the past and their friendship turns into a kind, respectful and stable marriage. Her and her husband Ian now take pride in being a safe place for others.
