Introducing Lena, the Associate Director of First Responder Therapy Dogs and her amazing therapy dog, Birdie. Birdie is trained to bring comfort to our first responder community during difficult times that we endure on a daily basis. Birdie is well known in the community after having attended several departments, communications centers, funerals, events, and large fires.
Founded in 2020 in San Rafael , CA, First Responder Therapy Dogs is a Non Profit organization comprised of 89 teams (human and dog) with the mission of providing emotional support for the first responder community. Departments have the ability to reach out for assistance and have one of the teams respond to them to provide support. Currently, First Responder Therapy Dogs is established in 18 states, which is extremely impressive in just a short two year period.
