So it's been a while since I've done a solo show where I haven't had an amazing guest to interview, but this particular topic today is really not only very important to me, it's something that I've had to work on for the last few years, and it's something that is completely impacting where I am going now in about the next 90 days. And I wanted to share some of the insights with you and share some thoughts with you around this idea of extreme ownership and owning all of your business decisions.
In this episode…
Every business decision you have placed in front of you has one of four files that you could put it in, or one of four categories that you can put in, and it's the 4 D’s. It's the things that we can do, the things we can delegate, the things that we delete, and the things that we delay. (1:12).
Delegation means that you're actually transferring that task or that decision or something to someone else with the expectation that they're going to execute it as you would. (4:05)
People tend to have a problem with the things that they delay (10:44)
Decision fatigue is a real thing when you make so many decisions every day, it's cognitively taxing and it can be cognitively exhausting(13:56)
Being more intentional with what you do, what you delete, what you delegate, and what you delay will do two things for you… (17:29)

Medal of Honor: Stories of Courage
Rewarded for bravery that goes above and beyond the call of duty, the Medal of Honor is the United States’ top military decoration. The stories we tell are about the heroes who have distinguished themselves by acts of heroism and courage that have saved lives. From Judith Resnik, the second woman in space, to Daniel Daly, one of only 19 people to have received the Medal of Honor twice, these are stories about those who have done the improbable and unexpected, who have sacrificed something in the name of something much bigger than themselves. Every Wednesday on Medal of Honor, uncover what their experiences tell us about the nature of sacrifice, why people put their lives in danger for others, and what happens after you’ve become a hero. Special thanks to series creator Dan McGinn, to the Congressional Medal of Honor Society and Adam Plumpton. Medal of Honor begins on May 28.
