Speaker 1 (00:02):
Well, guys, happy
Monday evening.
We are here, live from the GoldCoast, because we have just
finished two days of intensivetraining at ARIC and you will
have seen that probably quite alot over our social media.
And if you're what, what's yourtakeaway nugget?
Okay, there's, there's been,there's been few, and I always
(00:47):
go into a conference saying Ijust want to take one away.
But I think can we just firstof all, mark, explain the extent
of this conference, becausethere's not too many conferences
where you're going to get theVice President in person of the
United States of Americaactually turning up at a
conference and whatever yourpolitical views, because I know
(01:09):
there was a little bit ofbacklash around it, wow.
But to get the United States ofAmerica vice president in a room
with 30 secret service, I thinkis pretty incredible.
This is a real estateconference, like, let's be real
about it.
And, as I said, you know, likeher or not like her, whatever
your political view, I thinksomeone that gets to be in that
position of power has probablygot, probably knows a thing or
(01:33):
two, wouldn't you?
Speaker 2 (01:33):
think Yep, yep, she
was your favourite.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
I don't know if she
was my favourite, because you
know, look, I enjoyed listeningto her.
I think again, it's quitemesmerizing having someone that
is of that caliber that got tothat level serious presence.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Yeah, serious friends
, yeah, yeah, there was a lot of
security there I was.
Yeah, the strength of that ladyis what always surprised me.
Yeah, there's sheer strength Iliked.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
I liked how, um, I
felt like she was quite relaxed
in that room and this was a roomof you know, six thousand real
estate agents.
I liked how, um, I felt likeshe was quite relaxed in that
room and this was a room of youknow, 6 000 real estate agents.
I liked how relaxed she was.
She seemed quite relaxed eventhough there were 30 secret
service people, probably withsnipers all around us.
You could hear the policehelicopter.
There was an enormous amount ofsecurity paul was up for two
hours.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
That yeah, police
helicopter yeah yeah, but it was
quite.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
It was.
You know, it was quiteinteresting just being in a room
like that.
It really was.
Oh, do you want to come on?
We're doing a live show.
You can come on if you want tohave you got a name at.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
ARRI Novakians better
looking than me we're doing our
Novakians okay.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
So we're talking
about ARIC.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
Oh, I'm not the right
guest.
Oh, you're not the right guestDid you go.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
No, but we got
Harcourts International tomorrow
.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
Oh, do you, oh
Harcourts.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
I'm the principal.
Are you Of Harcourts?
Which one?
We've got you, queen of verygood there you go.
Why didn't you attend eric?
Oh, because it overlapped withparkour right interesting.
Unfortunately we couldn't come, but I heard it was amazing, it
was good.
So we're talking about it rightnow on our live show.
Well, yeah, so you can.
(03:15):
You got you.
Guys can sit and listen.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
Yeah I'm gonna, I'm
gonna join in and I'll watch you
on your channel yes, yes, uh.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
By the way, if you
want to vote, so that face
instead of mine just sends somethumbs up.
We'll go back over.
Mark out for this.
What was that lady out?
Speaker 3 (03:30):
yeah, as well yes,
and I'm sorry at the dinner,
yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
I was so the same so.
You keep talking.
We're in a live show.
No, no, you go, you go.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
It's something
happening a little bit where
people just grab me and I sayI'm from Novak and they go oh,
do you know, lisa?
So not many people know me, butthat's you know, sorry.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
So there you go.
That's the power of socialmedia, all right.
So, guys, there was obviouslyKamala Harris and I don't think
I'm actually pronouncing hername correctly, but Mark, for me
, the takeaway was SteveBartlett.
So he is actually the author ofPodcast of a CEO.
He is the guy is.
The way his mind works isastounding, and there were so
(04:18):
many messages there.
But one of the messages was doreally small things every single
day that will have a big impact.
Implements.
So, like, really just smallthings that will have a big
impact.
And I love that.
I'm definitely definitely goingto be implementing that, because
if you can only imagine, over365 days, what that looks like,
(04:40):
um, over a year, if you just dotiny little things that will
make some sort of a differenceand that could be just sending
out a really nice message to aclient, um, that could be, you
know, just getting a really nicefragrance for your open homes
on saturday small things thatwill have a big impact.
I would that.
That is right up my alley.
I love that.
Oh, my goodness, there were somany.
(05:03):
I have to say Lana Samuels Iknow Lana.
Lana was on my podcast withImmy, our podcast 25 Hours, and
she is just, she's incredible.
I love her authenticity and Ilove her success and I think
she's just a beautiful human.
So I really enjoy watchingpeople that love what they do
(05:25):
and may make a success out of it.
What about you?
Speaker 2 (05:29):
there's, there's more
okay me, what did I like?
I loved the authenticity ofthat irish guy.
Love the authenticity of thatirish guy.
My god, he was such a justgravity, like he.
Just he just held the room.
He was so natural.
He talked about his career andall I could think about us
(05:50):
that's um lisa's worried aboutmom his arm's gonna go dead.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
We're literally
sitting in a straight in the
gold coast.
Yeah, actually sitting in astreet in the gold code yeah and
uh, mark's just holding up hisarm in there.
I'm wondering how long he'sgoing to be able to do that
planking.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
I'm planking with my
arm yeah but I love.
I loved him and I also lovedanthony bill the accountant
because I like that sort of has.
He sort of goes across so manydifferent businesses you see so
much in aust accounting, whetherit's you know, banks, property,
investment funds, and he cansort of triage all of those
(06:27):
different industries and talkabout what he's seeing in the
economy and what came out of hismouth, how positive he was
about the Australian positivemarket.
He had me at a low.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
So I have to say
Anthony Bell definitely is in my
top three.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
If you don't know who
Anthony Bell is, I think he's
an accountant to.
He's probably an accountant toa lot of very well-known people,
if the truth be told, but he'dhave to be top of his game to be
fair.
And if you guys want to see thevideo of it's about eight
minutes of his talk where heactually speaks and listen.
(07:04):
He's not a real estate agent.
The guy's an accountant.
But obviously he tracks datavery, very closely and he tracks
global trends of what's goingon everywhere in the world.
He talked a lot about thetariffs that are coming through
from the United States and theimpact that will have on
Australia and the propertymarket.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
Everyone's worried
about it.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
Everyone's worried
about it, but it's all positive
things for the property marketand he's suggesting that within
the next six months there'sgoing to be a property boom.
He's also predicting that theproperty market Did you?
Just say boom, boom.
And he's also predicting thatthe property market's going to
go up 12%.
So I've actually got a bigportion of his talk.
If you want it, reach out to usand I'm very happy to send it
(07:47):
out to you.
There was gold in that talk.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
Very happy to send it
out to you.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
There was gold in
that talk.
What else did you get out of it?
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Not a real estate
agent talking up the real estate
market.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
You know it's not so.
We're talking about ARIC.
Very jiggly Mark, I know Mom.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
I'm planking with my
arm.
It's not easy holding this arm,so out there.
But we're talking about this.
The talk, two days solid, 16speakers, what we learned from
it, what we're going toimplement from it.
You know what?
At the end of the day, guys, ifyou want some business advice
from what we got out of the lasttwo days output the output you
(08:21):
know you put in output.
You just put that energy outthere, smash it consistently,
outwork everyone, boom, howthose Olympians were.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
Yeah, so we had
everyone from gold medal Olympic
swimmers.
The two girls they wereincredible.
Talk about like consistency anddetermination.
That is insane.
These girls have been inswimming pools since they were
12.
They don't know anything elsebut that, all they know.
They don't even know about asnooze button.
One of the girls was talkingabout that.
(08:51):
She was like the alarm goes off.
I'm up and I'm in that swimmingpool and it's every single day.
There are no excuses.
You know, if you want to be anOlympian, that's what you've got
to do.
There was that incrediblesurfer, this guy.
He was famous for surfing thebiggest waves in the world.
(09:12):
He was incredible and then hehad a terrible accident and that
set him right back.
But just that, thisdetermination and this will but
one of the big things, if I puteveryone together and I said
what were the common themesthere?
There was this relentless, justthis relentless energy that
they just never gave up on whatthey really, really wanted from
(09:34):
their life and it was aboutcurating a life that was perfect
for them.
So a lot of people talk aboutbalance and the burnout of you
know, when you're an Olympian ora real estate agent or whatever
it is that you may be.
A lot of people talked aboutthe burnout making sure that you
balance your life right soreally settle, going to change.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
And um, there's
people looking, see, there's
people looking, they're juststaring at, they're just staring
.
At least they're just staringat us, just collecting why
they're staring let's see whatguys, hello friend, hello friend
, g'day.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
I'm Darren, I'm from
Baileys, I'm from New Zealand,
oh, new.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
Zealander.
Oh, look at you guys, jazza.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
Oh people hey.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
Dad what's happening.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
What's happening in
New Zealand?
Speaker 3 (10:19):
Well, we're on the
verge of recovery.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
Yeah, you guys have
had a hard time, haven't you?
Speaker 3 (10:26):
So we're here at
Eric's my first time.
Nice my first time I'm overhere.
I just said, come on.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
It's easy Come in,
come in.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
So I said to her hey,
I think I've just seen my
heroes.
And then I said oh, I had topick you up.
I was just to make sure it wasyou guys.
Oh my God, aren't you gorgeous.
We're doing our live.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
Our live.
It's the first minute of themental break.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
That's very nice of
you, and tell me what did you
get out of, eric, because that'swhat we're doing our show on.
What did you get out of it?
What were the standouts?
Speaker 3 (10:57):
Some of the standouts
were to dream a way bigger
dream.
It's really nice to get stuckin your own market and seeing
what's possible in your ownuntil you can see what others do
.
And yeah, yeah, just totally, completely yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
I also love the whole
thing of um just making sure
all the right resources aroundyou rather than trying to be
everything you know you can't beeverything yeah, it's
impossible, yeah, we were justtalking about the burnout,
because it's a real thing in ourindustry and I think our
industry, you know, definitelyis right up there in terms of
people burning out.
And just making sure that thatbalance is right for you because
(11:32):
if someone was to follow mylife or mark's life, you
probably would struggle to keepup because the hours are long,
our energy is always high andjust making sure that it's right
for you and I think that's themost important thing.
I really do.
Sure is it your first time herein australia?
Speaker 3 (11:49):
I've been here a lot
and I've been to the two
concerts here, but this time itactually Eric's.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
Did you love it?
Are you coming?
Speaker 3 (11:54):
back Every year.
How good I love the New.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
Zealanders.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
Yeah, I love New
Zealand too.
I've been over there a coupleof times to speak.
So, thank you, wonderful Seeyou.
Nice to meet you.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
Take care, take care.
See you All the best.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
Bye-bye.
How nice is that, guys?
Nice fella, you know.
And if you can, I just saysomething Mark and I have been
doing our social media now foryears, yeah, and even, I think,
even with our team, like we'realways saying get your cameras
up, make sure you're gettingcontent.
You know, do this, do that.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
It works guys.
Do that.
It works guys.
It'll help people.
So you know, when you walkaround a conference like Eric
was 6,000 people.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
I have to say that
what's probably my 15-second?
I haven't been able to walkmore than three steps.
And someone's like oh my god, Ifollow you guys.
I, you know it does work, itdoes how you people there's
value.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
There is value for us
, there's value for our clients
and it's incredible to see thatvalue when you have everyone in
one room.
Definitely, these guys refer alot of people to us.
So these, these agents, they'realways referring by um.
You know, talk to lisa, she'sin dy.
They're always referringsellers.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
Talk to lisa, she's
in dy yeah, interesting these I
can't tell you.
And thank you to all the agentsthat refer me business Honestly
, like I have, and reciprocate.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
You know people to
reciprocate too as well.
Even if my arm hurts, that armis dying, let me hold that.
No, no, no, please, please.
You're way too pretty for that.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
Okay, guys, I hold
that over, please, please.
We're way too pretty for that.
Okay, guys, I want to just wrapup by saying a big thank you
and I know we mentioned it thismorning on our morning minutes,
but I want to say a big thankyou to john lavera.
This is a guy for 27 years thathas put his blood, sweat and
tears into organizing a massiveconference that started with
about 200 people in a room tonow 6,000 people in a room, and,
(13:54):
whether you love the speakersor you're not, on that same
pathway of agreeing with thespeakers that were hand-picked
and they go through a very, veryhard process to get on to that
stage.
I was on there a few years ago, never got asked to come back.
I only did it three years ago, mark.
I never got asked to come back.
I only did it three years ago, mark.
I never got asked to come back.
(14:14):
You haven't even been on therehe's gonna be bad.
Take that anyway, um, but I dowant to say thank you, you're
gonna be on.
Well, that was putting it out,I'm just putting it.
That was gonna be one of themost, that that was one of the
most tricky times of my life.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
I'm just putting it
out there it's tricky.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
It's tricky getting
up in front of that many people.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
I don't reckon
there's many.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
It's hard, you know
listen.
Can I say oh, there was oneother person that Maurizio from
Selling Beverly Hills, Ourdaughter was going crazy.
He was there in the room.
He was awesome.
I loved him I loved him, buteven he was scared getting up in
front of you know, 6 000 people, yeah, but you know.
Thank you to john um mcgrath, thank you to tom panos, you know
(14:57):
these guys show up.
There's a huge amount that goesinto organizing that conference
and you know, I can't see anyoneelse putting their hand up to
organize the southernhemisphere's biggest well you
know what it says, somethingabout the personality if you
don't.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
There's only people
that have got the capacity to
actually get that many peopletogether, like just that alone.
Like I don't know many peoplewho can pull a conference
together.
I don't know anyone except forhim.
I know speakers, yeah, andthank you to my arm that's been
up for 15 minutes.
Um, there it is there.
Specimen there.
Thank you very much.
(15:31):
It's gonna hurt tomorrow.
It's gonna hurt.
I've been so funny all rightguys.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
We're off to have
dinner with some friends.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
Have a great night
blowfish love ya, see you bye,
bye.
Good on you guys.
