Relationships are a fulfillment, a challenge, and an accurate gauge to what’s going in one’s own inner state.

Every interaction reflects our inner state. The conflicts we experience with others are not caused by surface differences, but by the unresolved divisions within ourselves. We are each, in effect, “a house divided,” and relationships bring these inner splits to light.

Because of this, relationships serve as both a challenge and a powerful tool for transformation. While isolation may create the illusion of peace, it prevents hidden conflicts from surfacing. True growth requires engagement—especially intimate, honest connection—where friction becomes a mirror for self-discovery.

A key principle is self-responsibility. No matter how flawed the other person may be, if we are disturbed, there is something within us that needs attention. Blame keeps us stuck; ownership sets us free.
