Hey Mama!

Feeling the pressure to make summer magical… but also a little worn out already? You're not alone!

In this exciting kickoff to the Summer Confidence Series on The Restored Mind Podcast, we’re setting the tone for a different kind of summer. One where confidence isn’t based on how you look in a swimsuit, how perfectly the plans unfold, or how many boxes you check off your summer bucket list.

This series is all about helping Christian moms let go of perfection, break free from mom guilt, and create meaningful memories—even when things don’t go as planned

In this series, you’ll learn how to:

  • Ditch the pressure to “love your body” every second
  • Find joy in the imperfect moments (yes, even the messy ones)
  • Give yourself permission to rest without guilt
  • Trade unrealistic expectations for a more peaceful summer

Whether your summer is going smoothly or already feeling off-track, this series will breathe fresh confidence and peace into your days. Hit follow and get ready for real talk, biblical encouragement, and simple mindset shifts that’ll help you feel more present and actually enjoy this season.

Let this be the summer you stop just surviving and— start showing up as the mom you've always wanted to be.

(00:04):
Hey mama.
I know your summer is probablyin full swing.
Maybe you're soaking up themoments or maybe you are already
feeling a little worn out fromtrying to make it magical for
everyone else either way.
I want you to know thatsomething incredibly fun and
special is coming your way.
Next week I'm kicking off abrand new summer confidence

(00:27):
series right here on thepodcast, and trust me, it's not
what you're thinking.
This isn't about spa days orfeel good outfits.
It's a space where we'll giveourselves permission to release
perfection, to let go of thepressure that you have to quote
unquote, love your body's everysecond.

(00:48):
And to rethink the idea, thesummer has to be packed and
picture perfect to be meaningfulbecause let's be honest.
When you're struggling to feelconfident in that swimsuit,
stressed, because your planskeep falling apart or silently
wondering why you can't seem toenjoy summer as much as you
hoped you're not alone andunderneath all of it, you might

(01:12):
just be carrying that heavyweight of mom guilt, quietly
whispering that you're fallingshort again.
So take a deep breath, mama.
You don't need to fix yourselfbefore you show up.
And you know, I have been reallywanting to do a series like
this, especially after we hadplanned to kick off summer with
a fun family trip to Great WolfLodge.

(01:33):
And it was supposed to be thehighlight of the first week
after school ended as acelebratory moment for such a
great school year.
But then things didn't goaccording to plan.
My husband had to leave for.
Work.
So he was gone for a week andthen when he came back he had to
work through the entire weekend.
So essentially he was gone foranother week.

(01:54):
And by the time we realized howmuch time had actually passed,
three weeks had flown by and ourtrip had not happened.
So we finally booked the onenight stay, and as the day got
closer, I started stressing notabout the logistics of this
trip, but about how I felt in mybody.

(02:15):
I looked at my swimsuits andwhen I put them on, I felt
uncomfortable and it almost wasan instantaneous effect.
My swimsuits were not anythingextravagant either.
They were just simple, one pieceswimsuits, and yet I still felt
incredibly uncomfortable in themfor some reason.
So I thought about not packingit, but I also knew that I did

(02:39):
not want to sit on thesidelines.
I wanted to create memories withmy kids as well.
Since this was a trip that theyhad been looking forward to, I
could have gone without a greatWolf Lodge trip.
But they really wanted to dosomething different this year
and they were excited aboutthat.
So I didn't wanna watch them beexcited from the sideline.
I wanted to be present withthem, but as it had turned out,

(03:02):
my insecurity and my swimsuitwas not even the biggest
challenge because what actuallyhappened on that trip reminded
me that no matter how well youtry to plan things, life has a
way of throwing you curve balls.
And it got me thinking summer issupposed to be the season that
we look forward to as a family, but sometimes the pressure to

(03:25):
make it magical, to feel good inour clothes and to not quote
unquote waste the time can sneakup on us.
And that's why I am so gladyou're here because this Summer
Confidence Series is aboutmaking space for honesty, for
letting go of the pressure to doit all perfectly, and finding

(03:47):
joy in the moments that don't goas planned, which can be a lot
harder than it seems, But it canalso serve as a pivotal moment
to create a new memory or evenan inside joke within the
family.
So with the hustle and bustle ofvacations, or the unexpected,
throwing off your rhythm orthrowing off your routine, mama,

(04:10):
I wanna leave you with a minichallenge that is going to be so
impactful in your day, and youcan start right now.
And that is to let something beeasy today.
So whether that's ordering, takeout, or skipping the dishes.
Or wearing the same outfit twodays in a row, because let's be
honest, we all have done that Atsome point, I want you to choose

(04:34):
ease on purpose because it's onesmall way to remind yourself
that rest gets to be a part ofyour summer.
So make sure you're followingthe show by tapping on that plus
button.
It usually says following, orit'll say plus and then the word
following.
That way you don't miss out whenthe first episode drops next

(04:57):
