In this episode of The Secret Keephers, I had an incredible conversation with Lisa Liimatta, co-founder of Rise Leadership Circle. We dove deep into the heart of my mission: healing through addressing the effects of secrets and generational trauma. Lisa and I go way back, and it's truly amazing how our lives and families have intertwined over the years.
Lisa was genuinely excited about my new podcast, and she highlighted just how crucial it is to bring secrets to light in order to heal. I shared with her how the idea for the podcast emerged while watching Downton Abbey, which got me reflecting on my own experiences with childhood trauma and the weight of family secrets.
We discussed how carrying secrets can wreak havoc on both our physical and emotional health, and the importance of having a safe space to share our stories. Lisa also touched on the benefits of working with trauma-informed therapists and life coaches. Therapy helps you process the past, while life coaching helps you focus on the future. We both encouraged listeners to seek healing methods that resonate with them personally and to find the right support to break free from the cycles of trauma and secrecy.
A little more about Lisa:
