(00:00):
So tell me, how did week one go?
Were you able to take alook around and become a
little bit more aware of howyou're treating your body,
how you are fueling yourheart, your soul, your mind,
(00:21):
how you are loving yourselfcurrently in this moment?
I hope that taking sometime, intentional time
to pay attention to maybesome things that you don't
normally pay attention toor don't give a second,
or don't look at normally.
I hope that you did thatthis past week because that
(00:43):
is what is going to setus up for what comes next.
Welcome back to the SelfLove Archives podcast.
My name is Julia Zalia and I amyour host yourself love bestie.
(01:03):
And we are in a seriesright now that I like to
call the Self Love 100 100.
Of loving yourself more andfor the next 15 weeks, 14
weeks now until the end of2025, I am going to be helping
you love yourself more.
(01:25):
Can you believe that thereare less than a hundred days
at this point left in 2025?
That's insane.
Insane what the self-love100 can be something that you
utilize very simply by followingthe eight different habits that.
(01:47):
I believe and why this wholechallenge was created to
begin with are so importantin loving yourself.
Because if we can createreally great foundations
for ourselves, we can setourselves up for success.
And success, meaning it'sa lot easier every single
morning to wake up andchoose to love yourself.
(02:09):
A little bit more.
So if you have not yet, make sure to check the
description, the show notes, wherever you're listening.
Lincoln Bio, you knowwhere to find it.
To download the self-love 100,it is a completely free download
on my website that you can getyour hands on, and it'll help
(02:29):
you track your next 100 days.
So there are eight dailypractices in the self-love 100,
and this is week number two.
So we've already gottenself-aware of where we're
at in life right now.
We've recognized maybesome patterns where we
might be self-sabotaging,where we're really loving
(02:50):
ourselves and where we needjust a little bit more love.
Week number two is all about.
Cleaning up your environment.
It's all about declutteringand don't see that as
something to be overwhelmed.
'cause I know, I know we canbe so incredibly overwhelmed by
(03:12):
our spaces, but I saw somethingreally amazing the other day.
It was this quote thatperfectly sums up exactly
what Week two is all about.
And it says, when a flowerdoesn't bloom, you fix
the environment that itgrows in, not the flower.
(03:32):
The best quote, you arethe flower and if you are
not able to bloom, it hasnothing to do with you and
everything to do with theenvironment that you are in.
So it's so importantfor our environments to
feel safe, comfortable, happy, a place of our own.
(03:59):
Whether that's the environmentof our homes, our cars,
especially if you spend alot of time in your car.
Our place of work wherewe spend our time, social
media, all of these placesare due for a declutter,
and that's what I want youto do for week number two.
(04:22):
Now, I know that cleaningup our environments,
especially our homes.
It can be incrediblyoverwhelming.
So the goal is notnecessarily to completely
declutter your whole entirelife in this one week.
The goal of week number twois to start decluttering.
(04:42):
Your life.
It's to start creatingenvironments that
you want to be in.
And you're not just going tohave week two to complete this
in your Self-Love 100 journey.
You're actually gonnahave week three as well.
So as.
As I'm sure you know, Iam hosting with my brand,
(05:02):
the Self-Love Archives, agiant self-love expo that is
happening on September 28th,which is a week from today
or a week from the date ofthis launch of this podcast.
So you could say I'm alittle crazy for also sharing
this challenge with you.
In the midst of planningand building and hosting
(05:24):
this huge self-love expo.
But I say I love thechaos and the drama of
it all, and I really do.
I'm exhausted right now, butI really do, and I couldn't
miss the opportunity to spendthe last 100 days of 2025
directly with you in thisextremely intentional way.
(05:46):
So for the next two weeks,we're gonna be focusing on
decluttering and creatingour environments to be the
way that we want them to be.
To be our safe spaces, tobe spaces that we wanna
be in and that we want tolove ourselves more in.
(06:09):
So there will not be a newepisode next week, but I can
assure you every single Sundayafter September 28th, you will
see me back here at 12 o'clockEastern time sharing what we
are gonna be working on forthat week so that by the end
of 2025 and by the end of this100 day challenge, you can
(06:32):
confidently say to yourselfthat you love yourself more.
If you are looking fortickets to Bloom 2025, our
Self-Love Expo, make sure tocheck out the description.
There are still some ticketsavailable, but make sure
to grab them fast becausewe are only a week away
(06:53):
from this incredible event.
If I were to take mywhole entire life and
be like, okay, where.
Julia, are you goingto declutter your life?
Well, there's many, many places, but I like to start in my home.
I spend so much time in my home, and I know that when I walk
(07:14):
into my home, like if I camehome from the gym or I wake up
in the morning when everythingis where it's supposed to be,
I just feel like I can breathe.
I can see where everything is.
I know whereeverything has to go.
I feel as though I can focuson important things like
(07:38):
doing my meditation in themorning or working on a
project for my career, orhanging out with friends.
I feel like when myspace is decluttered, I
can conquer the world.
Like I'm not focusinglike my A DH.
ADHD is not like.
Ramming up and being like, ohmy God, you have to do that.
(07:58):
You have to clean up that.
You have to put that away.
None of that.
So decluttering for me isgoing through a couple of
different parts of my home.
That first part for me isputting everything away
where it's supposed togo, even if the drawer
that it goes in is a mess.
(08:19):
As long as the drawer closes, even if it's a slight struggle
to close, as long as it closes.
That is enough of a declutterfor me at least to start.
So for week two, I'm takingeverything in my home that
has a place but isn't in itsplace, and I'm putting it back
(08:41):
where it's supposed to go.
I'm not worrying about ifthings need to be organized yet.
I'm just clearing my space, putting everything away.
So that I can justbreathe for now.
Now, week three is where weget to organizing a little bit.
(09:04):
If there is a space in yourhome, for example, your office
drawer, you work from home, and the drawer in your office
is so incredibly overwhelming.
Every time you openit, you're just like,
Ugh, I just need a pen.
And you immediately justwanna close it back up.
That right there.
Be self-aware enoughto understand that that
(09:26):
might be something youshould focus on to clear.
And when we have this clear, clean space, we have the
ability to think clearly, not get full on decision
fatigue because we're tryingto find something in a pile
of a bunch of other things.
And three, we're notgoing to feel obligated.
(09:50):
We're stressed every singletime we open that drawer.
It's not gonna be an issue.
It's gonna kind of just falloff that mental checklist of
hours and you'll even feel alittle bit lighter because as
you're going through these, these pieces, these drawers
of your life, you'll be ableto rid of things that don't
(10:13):
align with you anymore.
Which brings me to social media.
Yeah, we're gonna, we'regonna declutter social media.
Mm-hmm.
Look, our social mediaplatforms, we spend so much
time on TikTok, Instagram,YouTube, whatever your
platform of choice is.
We just spend so much timeon social media in general,
(10:33):
and if we can take a momentto understand this, your
social media platforms arecompletely and utterly.
Within your control, thealgorithms want you to
stay on their platform.
So they're gonnashow you things.
They're going to put thingsright in front of you that
(10:56):
they believe that you aregoing to interact with in
whatever way that might be.
So you know whatthat means, right?
What you pay attention toon social media is going to
be what comes back around.
Onto your feeds on all of thesedifferent platforms because the
(11:18):
app wants to keep you there.
So they, they clock it.
They're like, oh, I know thatJulia likes to watch this.
Hmm, good.
Okay, we're gonnashow her this later.
So if we're not paying attentionto what we're consuming on our
digital environments, you seehow that could be a problem?
(11:39):
Do you see how thatcould get in the way of
us choosing ourselves?
Not only that, thepeople that we follow,
uh, yeah, I'm talking, declutter it all.
Unfollow the accounts andthe people that just don't
align with you anymore.
(11:59):
And if you don't wannaunfollow them, totally get it.
Totally understand.
Mute them.
We have the abilityto mute them on social
media now, so mute them.
What you consumeis so important.
It can change the entiretrajectory of your day.
(12:21):
It can change the way youthink about yourself, the
way you feel about yourself.
Don't you want the things thatyou consume on social media
to be something that is kind?
And fulfilling and educationalor inspirational, something in
(12:42):
things that you want to see,and maybe I did at one point,
but now in this moment, in thistime of life, I don't align with
what this person is sharing orwhat this account is posting.
Unfollow, unfollow.
I don't need to see itanymore, and there's
really no hard feelings.
(13:02):
It just doesn't align with meright now in this very moment,
I am all about curating theenvironments that I spend my
time in, and my phone is ahuge one, and I am sure that
it is a huge one for all ofus on top of our social media.
We could take it a stepfurther in week three and
(13:25):
take a look at our apps.
That are on our phone, maybe some text messages
that are lingering.
I'm one of those people thatnever deletes a message.
I'm feel, I feel sostrongly about that.
There's like, every timeI go get a new phone or I
look at my iCloud, there'slike 85, probably like
185 if we're being honest.
(13:46):
Gigabytes of storagebeing utilized, just.
To keep all of my textmessages, but you best bet
I will never delete a singleone because I, if you come
to me and be like he said, she said, I'll be like, Nope.
I will pull up the receipts.
I have every text messagefrom like 2012, probably
(14:07):
earlier than that, probably ever since my phone.
Like ever since iCloudwas a thing, I have every
single message, every singlevoicemail, every single call.
I just don't delete those,but they don't overwhelm me
to have them there either.
What does overwhelm me ishaving a notification there
(14:28):
in a declutter like this.
Of my environment is I willgo through maybe some text
messages or messages on socialmedia that I just have not
had the chance to get to orhave put off to the side and
be like, I'll answer it later.
If there's something inyour environments that is
overwhelming, ask yourself.
Is there a way that you cantake it out, mute it, or not
(14:54):
spend as much time there.
That brings me to work.
Sometimes our work environmentscan be unhealthy or other
environments for that matter.
The first question I wanna wantyou to ask yourself is, do you
have to be in this environment?
(15:15):
Is this environment somethinglike your career, your job
that you have to go to inorder to make a living?
And understandably so.
And there's not necessarilymuch that you can do in this
environment, but there areways that you can protect
yourself when going intothese types of environments,
(15:37):
whether it's an environmentthat you're constantly going
to, and most especially ifit's an environment that
you're constantly going to,or maybe it's an environment
that you're going to once ina while when I was practicing.
I was basically taking psychicclasses, which are so cool.
We did this thing where youclose your eyes and you imagine
(16:04):
kind of this bubble around you.
For me, that bubble alwaysis basically my silhouette.
Exactly, and it's thissheet of light that goes
all around me to protect me.
Before walking into a place ora space that I know is going to
(16:28):
be a tough environment for meto handle or is going to try to
suck the life or the light outof me, I always use and practice
this moment of protection.
Before going into theseenvironments, there's also
hand gestures like makingan X with your hands to kind
(16:51):
of push any of that unwantedenergy away that is not yours.
When it comes to theseenvironments too, especially
ones that you might inhabitconstantly, like work, is
there something that you canput into that environment to
make it more comfortable andsafe feeling for yourself?
(17:11):
Make it feel like an environmentthat you are welcome in, that
you want to be a part of?
Is that maybe buying yourself asmall bouquet of flowers to have
at your desk every single week?
Is that.
Clearing up and organizingsome paperwork that you have
had at your desk for weeks.
Little things like that canmake the incredible difference
(17:34):
if you do not have the abilityand the opportunity to have a
home that has an environmentthat you are comfortable,
that you feel comfortable, and that you feel safe in.
I want you to knowthat you can create an
environment that you do.
Before you go into your house, your car, make your car, your
(18:00):
safe environment, maybe you'regoing on a walk and there's a
bench on the way home, make thatbench your safe environment.
Pick something that isoutside of maybe this
difficult environment thatyou're in to be the safe.
(18:23):
Environment for you to take abreath, for you to feel free,
feel calm, and feel comfortablebefore entering, potentially
entering these environments thatdon't make you feel that way.
Create spaces that you wantto be a part of, spaces that
you want to be in, spaces thatallow you the opportunity to
(18:47):
think and to feel and to be.
Spaces that you could take upspace in spaces that you feel
welcome in spaces that provideyou the opportunity and the
space to love yourself more.
And that is weak.
Two and three, focusingon and decluttering your
(19:13):
environments, whether thatbe social media, your home.
Your work environments, thepeople you spend time with, take
a look the next two weeks atall of the physical around you
and all of the mental aroundyou, all of the things that
might feel overwhelming, likewhen you open a drawer and feel,
(19:35):
immediately, feel overwhelmedby how much clutter is in there.
Focus on that.
Or maybe it's an environmentlike work when you
immediately walk throughthe door and you are.
Drowning in stressand overwhelm.
Maybe just a small protectionvisualization can help you go
(19:58):
into that space feeling a lotmore confident and knowing
that nothing can get throughthat barrier that you've set.
Whatever decluttering yourenvironments looks for you.
I hope that you use week two andweek three of the self-love 100.
To create spaces thatyou absolutely love.
(20:21):
