Welcome to week number eightof the Self-Love 100, 100

(00:05):
Days of Loving Yourself More.
If you are just joiningus in the midst of week
eight, do not worry.
Do not fret joining now,if at all is better than.
Not joining at all.
So welcome.
Hello, this is the Self-LoveArchives podcast and I am

(00:25):
your host Julia Salvia.
And for 15 weeks throughoutthe rest of 2025, I am
going to be doing theSelf-love 100 with you.
It's 100 days of lovingyourself more through our
habits and our routines.
Because if we can know ourselvesand get to know ourselves,

(00:46):
we can love ourselves more.
So let's get intoweek number eight.
This might just sound like.
The easiest week of thischallenge, but I can assure

(01:08):
you that it's actually oneof the hardest spending
time with yourself.
Kind of similar to whatwe practiced last week,
which was getting adequaterest and recharging
ourselves for the week.
We're gonna continueall of that.
We're gonna continue and Ihope you've been continuing

(01:29):
keeping up with the past seven, eight weeks of what we've
been doing in this challenge.
Little bit at a time.
Which is the goal ofthe challenge is just to
introduce one thing orsome sort of awareness in
you one week at a time.
But this week is reallyspecial because what

(01:51):
is self-love, right?
It's all about loving you.
This week is all aboutspending time with you, and
you would think right offthe bat, oh shit, that's
really easy, except it's not.
It's actually really,really difficult.
Most, especially if youhave a ton going on.

(02:12):
You have a demanding job,you have a significant other.
You have all thesefriends that want you to
come hang out with them.
You have people that relyon you, whether that's your
job, your kids, your pet.
It's not easy spendingtime with ourselves.
Whenever anything ishard, what's the first
thing you think of?

(02:33):
Nothing.
Worth having comes easy.
And I can promise you that ifyou can dedicate yourself to
spending time with yourselfand setting the boundaries
necessary to actually pour backinto you, spending time with

(02:55):
yourself is going to changethe way that you move forward
and walk forward in your life.
And it's only gonna get easier.
The more you do it.
So why is spending timewith yourself important?
Come on.

(03:15):
But really, why wouldn'twe wanna spend time
getting to know ourselves?
This is where you reallyget to know yourself.
We can self-reflect on what we.
Need to do to move our bodies,to rest our bodies, to set
boundaries for ourselves.
But what about thedeeper parts of you?

(03:39):
What about those moments whereyou have the opportunity to
get creative because there'sno outside noise happening?
Who are you?
When no one else is around, who are you when no one else is
entertaining the conversation?
Who are you when you are notentertaining the conversation?

(04:03):
Who are you whenyou're just you?
When it's only you?
A lot of these habits thatare part of the self-love
100 are super general, right?
They're very.
Surface level, if you will.
They're very like, oh,that's it, or that's it.

(04:26):
Because we're taking intoconsideration with the self-love
100 that you are completelydifferent from everyone else,
and the way that you spendtime with yourself might not
be the way that someone elsespends time with their selves.
So I want to askyourself this question.
What do you like to do?

(04:47):
What brings you pure andutter joy and comfort?
What provides you the timeto get to know yourself?
Is that just having 10minutes to yourself in
the morning to meditate?
Is it taking yourselfout for a cup of coffee?

(05:09):
Is it journaling?
Is it going on a walk?
Where might you already bespending time with yourself?
Where can you pour backinto yourself, where you can
continue to spend more time withyourself, or maybe you spend
no time with yourself at all.
You're not doing the thingsthat you wanna do for you.

(05:31):
Like reading that book that'sbeen sitting on your nightstand.
Talk about myself over here.
I've been craving just to.
Lay on the couch or lay in bedand read a book, and I just
can't get myself to do it.
I think that spending time withourselves is one of those things

(05:52):
that we put on the back burner.
Oh, we'll get to it.
I'll spend timewith myself tonight.
Oh, I didn't have time.
I'll do it later.
It's one of those thingsthat we so easily put on the
back burner, and this week Idon't want you to put it on
the back burner this week.
I want you to read thebook that's been sitting
on your nights stand.

(06:12):
This week, I want you tofind 10 minutes of each
day to just spend with youhowever you wanna spend it.
That could be painting, drawing, journaling, meditating,
or just literally sittingwith yourself in silence.

(06:37):
There is something sostrengthening and connective.
To just sit, to just be,and to most importantly,
just be with you.
I know you may not believe me,but there is a strength, a true

(06:58):
utter strength of connectingwith yourself for those 10
minutes with no outside.
Noise.
No other people, noother things, just you.
And the more that you make thattime for just you, the easier

(07:22):
it is to spend more time withyourself and the easier it is
to maybe understand what you'refeeling, what you're thinking.
Or potentially what's going onin your body, your mind, your
soul, right in this very moment.
It allows you to bemore self-reflective.
It allows you to hearwhat is actually going on,

(07:49):
and that's what I wantyou to do for week eight.
Week eight of the self-Love 100.
Spend time with you, however.
That may be whatever thatlooks like, spend time with
you each and every day thisweek, and if 10 minutes
is too much, make it five.
Give yourself thatyou can and you do.

(08:14):
No matter how busy your lifeis, you have the five, 10
minutes to spend on you.
I know you do after week eight.
Meet me right backhere on week nine.
On the Self-Love Archivespodcast, 12:00 PM Eastern Time.

(08:35):
If you have not already, pleasemake sure to hit the follow
button wherever your favoriteplace is to listen, whether
that's on social, on YouTube,on Spotify, apple, wherever
you are listening right now,I would love for you to stick
with us, and if you havebeen following the Self-Love
100, leave us a review.

(08:56):
Let me know what.
You think and how it'sbeen going for you.
Do you feel better?
Are you loving yourself alittle bit more or are you
learning more about yourself?
I would love to knowall of the things.
Thank you so much alwaysfor being here, and
I'll see you next week.
Bye.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
