In this minisode, I’m sharing a real-life moment that reminded me just how easy it is to miss the present while building the future. If you’re someone who’s vision-focused, detail-oriented, and showing up for your goals day after day, you might still find yourself feeling behind as the week begins. I’ve been there too, and this reflection is an invitation to reconnect with why we’re doing all of this in the first place.

I talk about a day I spent with my sons and nephews that left me both grateful, reflective, and that got me a little emotional. It reminded me that while we plan, track, and push toward the life and business we’re creating, the small everyday moments are what actually shape us. And sometimes, those moments bring up people and dreams we’ve lost along the way. I’m not sharing this to get heavy, but because I know how important it is to stay connected to what really matters, especially when life is moving fast.

This episode is a reminder that your life is happening now, not just when you hit the next goal. The breath, the connection, the presence you cultivate today is part of the vision you’re building. So as you map out your week, I hope this lands like a soft reset that brings you back to center. You get to build something beautiful without missing the beauty that’s already here.

Sheila (00:03):
If you've ever started the week already feeling behind,
even though your calendar isstacked, your goals are set and
your metrics are moving, you'renot alone.
In today's mini-sode, I'msharing a reminder that goes
beyond productivity how are youactually living your life while
you're building the future youdreamed of, the future you

(00:29):
dreamed of?
Hi, welcome to the podcast.
I'm Sheila Botelho, and Ibelieve true success is built
from the inside out.
This mini-sode is designed tohelp you live into what lights
you up this week.
If you're like most, if not all, of the clients that I work
with, there is a good chancethat you've felt this before.
So you've got a beautifulvision, you've set the goals and

(00:50):
the timeline is there.
Your KPIs are clear, you'retracking the metrics, you're
caring for yourself, and yet youstill find yourself starting
the week already feeling likeyou're behind.
It's not like you're slackingor anything, but you're so
focused on the details, so honedin on what's next, that it's

(01:14):
easy to lose sight of why you'redoing this in the first place.
And I get it.
This happens to me.
I've lived it, which brings meto something that grounded me
last week and reminded me of whyI started all of this to begin
with.
I took a day with my sons to hitthe open road four hour drive

(01:34):
each way and we spent the daywith my nephews.
The boys played golf with theiruncle and one of my sons
brought his BMX bike andexplored some new spots to ride.
It was such a beautiful day.
We finally got a break fromsome of the really really hot
weather and it was so good tosee everyone.
It had been a while.
We shared a simple, beautifulriverside meal at this little

(01:57):
place off the beaten path.
It was quaint, peaceful, theriver in the background and it
felt like a pocket of timeexpanded just for us.
So one of my nephews is headingoff to college.
My youngest son is headed intohis last year of high school.
My oldest is headed into hissecond year of college.

(02:17):
Time is moving and I felt sograteful, not just for the
moment together but for the factthat my brother-in-law and I
still do things like this withour boys.
Not as often as any of us wouldlike.
Of course the distance and ourschedules and of course, seasons
of life all play a part, but wemake the effort and we show up

(02:39):
when we can, and every time wedo I'm reminded of who's not
there, my sister.
We had plans, things that wewanted to create together.
We thought we just needed toget through a few more seasons,
handle some things, let the kidsgrow up a little bit, you know,
get some sleep, and then we'dmake it happen.

(03:02):
But it didn't go that way.
Some things in my life haveturned out far better than I
could have imagined, and I talkabout that often and I will
continue to.
But this well, this turned outdifferent than what we all
wanted, and I'm still learninghow to hold that truth and live

(03:24):
my life really powerfully, because if you haven't followed
my story, the punchline is mysister passed away in 2013.
At the time, her boys were fiveand two, and I think about her
often and I realize and remindmyself that she was the reason
behind my self-care for businessmodel.

(03:44):
She really has infused a lot ofmy work.
So I ask you, especially if yourcalendar is full, if your
strategy is sound and yourmomentum is strong, how are you
actually enjoying your liferight now?
Are you creating daily, or atleast regular, experiences that

(04:07):
bring you back to what mattersmost?
Are you giving yourself time tosavor what you've built already?
Because I know you have storiestoo.
I know you've lost people, you've gone through difficult
times.
You've had moments where you'vethought someday and someday
didn't come For me if I'm notcareful.

(04:27):
These thoughts can really pullme into sadness or distraction.
But increasingly, as I movethrough life, as I witness the
shifts in the world around meand, yes, I do take time to
really let myself feel myfeelings still I find that I am
actually motivated even more soto savor what is here before me,

(04:51):
to remember that this is it.
This moment right now is alsopart of the vision Our futures
are being built right now, inthis moment, in the way we move,
the way we love, the way wenotice what's beautiful.
So maybe this week, the edgeyou're looking for isn't more

(05:14):
strategy, it's breath, it's amemory, it's a reminder of who
you are and why you started whatyou're doing in the first place
.
You don't have to wait to liveyour life and your success
doesn't have to cost you the joythat's available today.

(05:35):
I hope you lean into that.
Have a beautiful week and I'llsee you on the next episode.
Thank you.
