If you’ve ever felt like you had to push through a big season of change, this is your reminder that there’s another way.

In this minisode, I’m sharing something personal. I’m preparing to move from my home of 29 years. What this moment is teaching me about leadership, identity, and building a sustainable business as a woman goes far beyond logistics. It’s about what happens when we let go of what no longer fits and choose to expand with intention.

If you’re shifting your offers, location, relationships, or priorities, this episode will help you find your footing. I’ll share how high-achieving founders can recalibrate without losing momentum, and why self-trust is the real edge in this next chapter of growth.

If you're ready to lead from grounded clarity instead of hustle, you can grab your Vision Map at the link below.

Sheila (00:01):
I've built a business, raised a family, and walked the
same tree-lined street for 29years.
Now, as I pack the last boxes,I'm reminded that expansion
doesn't always look like growthcharts or launches.
Sometimes it feels likestillness, quiet clarity, or
letting go of something reallybeautiful.
In this episode, I'm sharingwhat real expansion looks like

(00:24):
when your foundation is shiftingand how to recognize that what
feels uncertain might actuallybe your most aligned next move.
Hi, welcome to the podcast.
I'm Sheila Botelho, and Ibelieve true success is built
from the inside out.
This mini sode is designed tohelp you live into what lights

(00:45):
you up this week.
Today I have a little behindthe scenes to share with you.
Some things that have beengoing on over the last couple of
months that I was notanticipating, but that I'm
really excited about.
So my home that I'm in rightnow is where I have lived for
the last 29 years.

(01:05):
It was the first home Peter andI saw when we were looking to
purchase, and then we went outand looked at 20 others just to
make sure.
But we ended up buying thefirst one, and we moved into it
just days after our honeymoon.
This house holds so manymemories.
It's where I birthed, raised, and educated my kiddos with my

(01:30):
love.
I've made music here, I'vecultivated forever friendships,
launched a brand, and learnedhow to grieve and to grow.
And what we're doing right nowis we actually decided to move
house.
And it's more than a move.
It truly is a rite of passage.
So the backstory.

(01:52):
Back in August, Peter and Itook a few day trips around
southwestern and northernOntario.
And over Labor Day weekend, weactually ended up visiting three

lakes in three days (02:03):
Lake Huron, Lake Erie, and Lake
Ontario.
And on that Monday, we weresitting in Toronto by the lake
in the distillery district whensomething shifted in both of us.
It felt like this quiet innerknowing that came over both of
us.
We realized it was time tostart thinking about our next

(02:26):
home really seriously this timebecause it's something we'd been
entertaining over the last fouror five years.
But of course, life gets busyand you put these things off and
it didn't take center stageuntil this summer.
So we decided we wanted tomove, most likely, to the
Niagara region of Ontario.
And so we decided on theMonday, Labor Day, after seeing

(02:49):
all these different lakes, weknew we wanted to be by water.
And the question was, okay, which body of water is the one
that we want to make the rest ofour lives home?
So we said we'd start lookingin March of 2026.
But here's what happens when weget clear on something.
Sometimes timelines speed up.
Literally, one week later, adear friend told me about a home

(03:14):
for sale in the exact communitythat we loved.
And so I called the realtor.
Turns out there was aconditional offer on it.
And yet there was anotherhouse.
So we decided, let's go takethe trip.
And we drove to the lake inNiagara, and we looked at both
homes that night.
And the second one, the one wedidn't even know existed that

(03:37):
morning, was the one.
And on the drive home, wedecided to make an offer and
actually made the offer.
So the next morning, I stayedat our house, had photos taken
by the realtors in theafternoon, and by Friday, our
home was listed.
Eight days later, in a downmarket, it was sold.
And now we move November 5th.

(04:00):
It all happened so much fasterthan we imagined.
And it reminded me that whenalignment meets readiness,
things can truly unfold withease.
And this is what expansion canfeel like.
Sometimes it's quiet, sometimesit's really messy.
And sometimes it's beautifullyfast.

(04:23):
And my husband actually jokes.
He's like, I don't know if ithad to have moved this quickly,
he may have changed his mind.
Because it's a lot gettingready to uproot your life after
almost three decades in one homein one community, and all of
the things that go along withmoving, as you may know, if you
have moved more than once.
And yet that fast feeling andthe way everything moved, it was

(04:48):
just wonderful.
So expansion is not alwaysabout hustle or more action.
Often it's about letting go,getting clear and letting go of
what's familiar, letting go ofan old rhythm that once served
you.
It's like the path of leastresistance.

(05:13):
Change takes a lot of energeticand emotional energy.
So if your business isshifting, if your relationships
are recalibrating, or if yourpriorities are changing, just
remember you are expanding intoalignment.
Now, for me, this move isteaching me so much.

(05:33):
It's teaching me that I can'tscale chaos.
I can only scale what isaligned.
And the same applies inbusiness.
When your foundation changes, your growth takes on new
meaning.
You begin to make decisionsfrom peace instead of from
pressure.
And there's a certain beauty inthat.
The balance of grief and grace, the soft strength of trusting

(05:56):
what is next, even if you don'ttotally know what it will be
like until you're there.
Whatever new era you're walkinginto, I want you to know I'm
cheering you on because what youand I are creating next will be
magnificent.
If this episode spoke to you, take a moment this week and
notice what is shifting in yourown world.
Maybe it's time to expand, notby adding more to your task

(06:20):
list, but by aligning with whatfeels true for you.
And if you're ready to designyour own expansion season with
more peace and purpose, you'llfind resources in the show notes
to help you connect with yournext season following my vision
map framework.
You can grab it in the shownotes below.
Thank you so much forlistening, and I'll see you on

(06:41):
the next episode.
